Has anyone yet found a fully working call recorder for the GN2? By fully
working, I mean able to record both sides, with or without BT headset.
I tested for example "Total Recall", but when you use BT it only
records the other side. Any experience would be appreciated!
Use xposed mod

Thank you very much, guys!
"Callrecorder" says in the description already, that recording through BT is non-working.
I'm off to test the "Sanity" application now. Let's hope for success! Much obliged, Luvin'

Tested all thinkable configuration with Sanity, but to no avail.
Like many other call recorders, it only records the other side.
I'm starting to believe there is no way to have both sides
recorded (without root), when using a BT headset.
If anyone have found a way, please announce it here!
Thanx to everyone trying to help....
Then root.

Well I finally rooted, but to no avail. I tested again with "Callrecorder"
but when using BT headset, it still only records the other part. So my
question to you guys remains; have anyone out there found an app
capable of recording both sides, when using a bluetooth headset?
There must be someone out there, sitting on a working solution?
Grateful for any kind of enlightening opinion...
The phone has call recording built in. You just need to enable the hidden button for it and it will appear right in the dialer screen. Several roms include the mod. It can also be uncovered using either a modified secphone.apk or the xposed framework.
All options require root and are easy to find out about using Google.

When using sanity did you change the audio source to 'phone call' under recording? . I think default setting was recording from microphone.

Callrecorder seems to work in the meantime, but like manuvaidya I'd rather have greater scope to customise functionality, including getting rid of the perma-notification. Any other applications working, or can anyone figure out how Dsoft have their recording app working with the SGS2 when so many others don't?!

Quick workaround that might solve your problem....
Startup Manager is an app where you can add programs you want to launch on boot.
I tried and got the app to start on reboot.
It doesn’t start in the background so your first image on reboot will be the call manager..
It's not an perfect solution, but would help so you don't forget to start the app.
Maybe somebody else know about something better..
Thanks for the Startup Manager idea.
The SGS version is only for Froyo and doesn't work on an SGS with Gingerbread rom. So don't expect it to work on SGS II for now.

Callrecorder doesn't work with my Bluetooth car kit - just get feedback over the speakers (though the recording is ok). Anyone else having success with BT devices?
SGS/amended libs with Total Recall worked perfectly over same BT kit, so I'm guessing Callrecorder is recording from microphone instead - which works when using the handset mic but not so well with a high gain car mic?
Now that we've got root, is there any way to get rid of the loud, godawful camera noise? It seems to be part of the stock ui since selecting silent in vignette doesn't work, etc.

slide out the left menu in stock camera app.. option in there to change shutter sound.. 3 sound options and off..
Nope, there's no off option in the stock app, and silent options in apps like vignette don't work for Japanese market phones. It seems to be forced at the rom level. Anyone rooted on a Japanese arc that can relay whether custom roms get rid of the shutter sound?

exactly it's forbidden to take pictures without a sound.
try this:
Go to "/system/media/audio/ui" there are folders like sound1, sound2 and sound3. go in the folders and remove the "camera_click.ogg"
of that didn't work go to "/system/media/audio/camera/sound*/ and remove "shutter.ogg"
Hope this works, good luck

Don't you guys worry about probably breaking the laws of your country?
I've done it. First, I rooted the S0-01C, then got all the ADB drivers and such working on my PC. Remounted the /system in rewriteable mode using this guide here, http://karuppuswamy.com/wordpress/2...stem-partition-in-read-write-mode-in-android/
then went to the /system/media/audio/ui directory, and replaced camera_click.ogg with an empty ogg (opened notepad, saved as camera_click.ogg) using root explorer. Vignette is now completely silent.
Thanks for all the help!
Use Root Explorer
Rename /system/media/audio/camera/sound3 to /system/media/audio/camera/soundx (or anything you like)
Rename /system/media/audio/camera/sound0 to /system/media/audio/camera/sound3
Then select sound3 as the shutter sound in camera.
This is for HK rooted model LT15i 3.0.A.2.181
proliant's method is work on my Arc
thx
and for unrooted sony phone?
You have to live with the sound then unless you can turn it off in the camera menu.

If you guys are talking about the stock app, how can you say it works perfectly when the dimensions of the app force you to use more than three quarters of the screen to use it? Could you recommend one that uses half the screen, because if I am expected to give up so much real estate for it, it would be better to completely switch from one app to another. I had thought the whole idea of multitasking was to do more than one thing at a time.
EDIT
Honestly, if you guys are just attempting to be rude, I'd rather not have the help because I was intending to get answers to a serious question.
If the video player that comes stock didn't show the full dimensions of the movie but "worked perfectly" with multi window by merely running and displaying half of the screen, I doubt that would be good enough for you. Of course, you could just expand the window to get more of the picture, but that defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Summary of Devices
Device: Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-T889)

Device: Motorola DROID X
Android Version: 2.3.3 Gingerbread

I second aircal, I use it on jellybam (no multi-window as it is AOSP) but floating calc = better the multi-window calc since you can have 3 things up at a time then lol.
Of course the calc is not super feature rich, but for general math it is good enough for me.

Thanks. With the dev name, I was able to find it. Without it it seemed as though you were talking about the stock and I didn't know any better. It was pretty far down the list, but I found it and I will try it out. The screen shot surely looks much more promising then the stock one on our devices. The Air also looks to have even greater utility and I will give it a look as well. Thanks again.

They all have it, but I noticed you also have auto replacement off, just like me. I still didn't figure out how to type words that are not in dictionary, pretty much couldn't input most of the names of programs I was searching for in play store, for example program names like ARC, AppOps, ES explorer impossible to type in without being changed by auto correct, had to turn it off.
BTW, I also didn't like other keyboards, for example contrary to what somebody posted in one of the forums, when I installed swiftkeyboard, it still didn't have number row on top, maybe missed it in settings.
On the Samsung keyboard, to type words that are not in the dictionary is actually easy and I just recently figured it out myself. First you need to turn Auto Replacement on. For a non common word that isn't in the dictionary, instead of swiping, just type out the letters one at a time. Then instead of hitting the space bar to go to the next word, hit the right arrow symbol above the number 1 and 2 keys. This takes the letters as you typed them instead of trying to auto correct them. This right arrow symbol is only displayed when Auto Replacement is turned on.
Hope this helps...
this is mine, I don't have the auto replacement option, why is that?

Yeah unfortunately Wanam is the reason your auto correct option in the Samsung keyboard is gone . I posted the problem on the Wanam forum. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's causing it because there's no settings in Wanam that I can see that interfere with the keyboard auto correct. I reinstalled and reinstalled and every time after I install Wanam module it's gone
Hope it gets fixed soon

Yes unfortunately it does something to the system that does not get removed even after uninstalling wanam. Only way I got it to work again is by re flashing your rom. Believe me I've done trial and error and re flashed my rom about 5 times. Each time if I install Wanam the auto correct goes away
