Hi,
is there a possibility to show saved wifi passwords in plaintext?
I tried different Apps; root and non-root, but passwords were always in hash´s.
wpa_supplicant.conf does not show plain passwords either.

try wps connect you can find it in the google play
Thx MSandMan
I tried WPS connct from the playstore. But this app also shows passwords as hash text not as plain text.
I found a xposed Modul, that does the job.
which xposed module?

Have you tried adding/changing the following line to the build.prop?
ro.securestorage.support=false

Doesn't work.
My Samsung A3 (2017) doesn't hide wifi passwords behind ******s, it simply doesn't display any stored passwords at all. Instead, it fills the password field with a greyed-out "(unchanged)" whether this module is active or not.

I tried changing my wifi mac address on my g3 using the Mac Spoofer (app) and it broke my wifi and now it wont turn on.
I still have my original mac address, tried changing it back on the same app and it didn't work.
I tried other apps but they won't even open because they can't detect my mac address.
Under wifi settings, Mac is shown as unavailable.
Can anyone help me to change it back?
Thanks!
This is the app that ruined my life
I fixed it! Just went to data/misc/wifi and deleted everything in it!
help
I did the same thing with the same app. Can you explain a little where you went data/misc/wifi. I tried file manager but can't get there. Thanks

/data is a system mount, you'll need to root the phone.
how to root my phone ?
Hi,
a simple question.
If I move from LOS 14.1 to 16.0, what will happen to all my stored WiFi networks ?
I'm not scared about my Google emails, contacts, photos and Whatsapp chats as everything is stored in the cloud automatically.
But loosing all my Wifi networks will hit me....
Anything I can do to avoid a loss ?
My M8 is not rooted.
The WiFi access points and passwords are stored in an XML file. I usually back this up with Titanium Backup, which requires root. You might look to see if Helium backs up and restores WiFi network info (Helium is an app that backs up user data, and does not require root).
Thank you for your quick reply. So Google does not capture Wifi infos ?
Is there a change to use ADB root to get access to this XML file ?
Or is there a way to export the Wifi information to a text file ?
My responses below in red font.

I think Google backup claims to capture WiFi network info. But I never had it work properly (restore the WiFi passwords, and allowed the device to connect WiFi)
Is there a change to use ADB root to get access to this XML file ? You said you were not rooted. You can use ADB root, if you aren't rooted. You can use adb for non-root functions, but I think you need root access to pull the XML file.
Or is there a way to export the Wifi information to a text file ? Don't know.

Sorry the above responses aren't too definitive. But it's the best info I have, personally.
Myself, I most often just enter my WiFi networks manually when needed (new ROM, new device, etc.). As I do not have a larger number of WiFi networks that I need to connect. But I can understand this isn't feasible for some folks, with lots of WiFi networks they connect to.
I found a way to get the Wifi information on the -not rooted- phone, the infos are located in path/file: /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
I also found out that in TWRP is a button to open a linux terminal.
So, just open the TWRP terminal. change the path to /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf and copy the file to /sdcard
The file could be found in root of the sdcard and is accessible by a PC afterwards. It is an XML file where all Wifi information stays is, not encrypted.
An easy way and solution for my issue.

Nice work! The fact that WiFi network info is stored on data partition, means it should be accessible (in theory) with adb (root privilege not needed).

Unfortunately the shell on ADP root can not access wpa_supplicant.conf. Attempting the path .../Wifi results "Permission denied"
But TWRP terminal works, so it doesn't create headache.
Whenever I type a password and connect to a WiFi network , the password is forgotten as soon as I turnoff WiFi. I tried looking it up and some people said it has something to do with efs . If it's corrupted, how do I fix it? And if there's an another solution , your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is your phone set up to backup data to Google? In other words, is the backup option in Settings enabled and an account selected?
If not, set it up. Also delete cache and data from Google Backup Transport and restart your phone.
Hi there. Is there any way to detect/understand if second space is activated in Xiaomi note 9 pro? Let's say it's hidden and can be accessed only by password from the lock screen. Thanks in advance.
Go to 'settings > special features > second space' the option to create the second space is there. So if if it's there, no second space was created

Ha, not so easy.. In second space settings you're able to choose to hide it, so in first space you will see only usual option to create one.. I need another way to detect it.

/data/user maybe.
User 0 is the default, User 999 is for dual apps.
Don't recall the User # for second space, but it should show up.

With root, yes.
And maybe also from the custom recovery.

Hm.. Any options without root?
I see it has two MI account logins. Current one (this login) and one more. Maybe that might be a sign of parallel space..

Im not completely sure what you're "investigating", but local device accounts are not related to Mi accounts from what I can tell.
You can have multiple local user accounts, without having a logged in Mi account.

I want to understand if there are ways to find out that hidden second space is being used on the persons phone. I suppose that second space also might to be linked with Mi account so maybe that's would be an indicator. See photo - that was found in phone's Mi accounts section.
Hi.
Today I needed to pay something through my banking application, but the application did not allow me access because it detected malicious software on my phone and it is Whatsapp PLUS, which I have to uninstall in order to enter the banking application.
What should I do now if I use Whatsapp PLUS all the time, but at the same time I need access to my banking application?
How does a banking application detect that I am using an illegal Whatsapp Plus application?
Is there a way around it?
Thanks a lot.
And for info root I have over Magisk.
This might seem trivial, but have you tried revoking the "Get info about installed apps" permission?
Most apps use this to index all your apps and check for so-called "malicious" package names.

What should I do?
Even if I freeze WhatsApp via titanium backup, the bank's application still notifies me that there is malicious software on my device - WhatsApp.
That I should just uninstall it.

go to your banking app's "App Info" page, under permissions, look for "Get info about installed apps" and if it is "Allowed", change it to "Deny"
this is assuming you are on MIUI. I'm sure other ROMs also have a similar permission.

What is the package name of your whatsappPlus app? You should find it in the "App Info" page for the app. Should be something like "com.whatsapp"

There is no such setting about allowing the installation of applications under permissions - allowed / deny

In that case you either modify the app itself - use apk editor to decompile app , edit manifest.xml and remove permissions like "query all packages" from it . Compile the app and run it again. This might work but if app is protected in some way that it detects modification you might get banned from it or worse :/
Other way is to isolate WhatsApp Plus by using tools like virtual xposed - basically a virtual container. You can install WhatsApp in there and it shouldn't cause any issues but I'm not sure you'll be able to receive notifications... ( You can try installing bank app in there instead but I'm not sure how that'll work... Either it will detect root/xposed or the container itself will allow querry all packages to seep through into main os - this depends on whether virtualxposed has declared permission for querying packages or not )
Third option is probably the best one - Uninstall and use web browser to access banking.
maybe whatsapp plus is indeed malicious
use malwarebytes for android to check whether whatsapp plus is malicious or not
