Hello everyone,
I have a stable (but not perfect) CWM Recovery for Huawei U8730 (T-Mobile MyTouch Q by Huawei), no random reboot at all and combo key to boot into recovery.
It might work on Huawei U8680 (Huawei MyTouch).
download link : http://www.mediafire.com/download/5t1odtgo5vwt12p/recovery.img
to install it, boot your device into download mode (pink screen) by pressing "volume up and down + power"
put the recovery.img downloaded before in your image folder to replace your original recovery.img
pull out the battery and replace it
boot your device by pressing "volume up + power" and you must be in recovery mode.
navigate : volume keys
validate : photo key
return : power key
Thanks to mattlgroff for his base and Tomm13b for his help to debug the recovery.
Now it's time to unbrick some device and start to build custom rom
PS : backup option only save system
new version available but still have system mounted and can't be unmounted, wipe work
If someone can take a look,go go

Pardon me for sounding like an idiot, but how do I put the new recovery in that folder? Do I have to use adb or should I have some drive appear on my computer when I plug the phone in via usb? Note that I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and I already have my U8730 rooted. I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not. Thanks for the help.

I'm using root browser after booting my device normally. I have found the folder and recovery.img. can I simply replace it by copy and paste since I already have my device rooted?

I believe I've found the issue. When I plug my phone into the computer it lists as an unknown device under usb devices in device manager. I cannot get the drivers to work, thus preventing my computer from accessing the phone. Do you know where I can get the correct drivers.

I've found the drivers from Huawei. I installedthem, even rebooted my computer, yet the phone still appears as an "unknown device" any suggestions? Also, if the recovery becomes damaged when I update it, will the phone be able to boot normally without a recovery? If so, I have a workaround method to change the recovery without using my computer at all.

I hope you guys don't mind a quick question!
Recently, I rooted my 8730. Through the use of titanium backup, I got rid of the Genius Search. I restored it, rebooted the phone and now I'm stuck in a boot loop, where the phone boots up, gets right up to the little android guy flying upwards, then restarts.
First, I tried booting through the use of the power button + volume up, but even though I factory reset my phone, it'd still be stuck on the loop. I tried going the download route, replacing the image and using the CWM recovery in order to factory reset my phone, even going as far as replacing the whole image folder.
Is there anything that I can do?
Thanks a bunch for the patience and help!

So I take this, put it in the root of the SD card, access CWM and choose "Apply update from .zip"? When I do, it says "Finding update package, Opening update package, Installing update, Installation aborted"
Is there anything I can do to get around the abortion?
Also, if I try power + volume up/down to go straight to the software upgrade, it unpacks it fine, but right as it gets to the installation part it fails as well.
Thank you so much for the link, by the way!
Huh, maybe it's because while rooted, I uninstalled a handful of bloatware, like twitter/amazon mp3/genius search and a handful of other things. I backed them up, but unfortunately that doesn't count for much anymore!

Just reporting back here!
I ended up fixing it by using a firmware upgrade 2.3. I took out my SD card, put it into a USB adapter, downloaded the 2.3 firmware (I can't post links, please feel free to send me a message for the link),put the dload folder for that firmware to the root of the SD card, held volume up/down + power button and forced an upgrade.
For those trying to fix the u8730 like me, there's a very specific firmware for it, it wasn't even in the manufacturer site. So again, please feel free to send me a message for it! In case I don't respond, in rapidshare, the title of the firmware is:
.
HUAWEI_U8730_firmare(U8730_Android_2.3_V100R001C85B845_America_TMO_05010TQM).rar
Has anyone figured out how to delete the bloat that's in the /cust dir

If this belongs in another location please move it for me. This is instructions for twrp install and how I did it with so many questions about it.
First by no means am I the developer of the links I provided.
I don't remember where I got them but with plenty of research through different sites and finding the right downloads, I successfully completed everything perfectly with both twrp and root sticking.
This process worked perfectly on my International Redmi Note 8 Pro with Global Miui 11.
1. Unlock the bootloader by following these steps:
Start developer mode by going to: Open settings - About phone - click on Miui version 7 times
Go back to settings page and scroll to Additional settings - Developer mode will be on the bottom
Open Developer mode and tick OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging
Under WebView Implementation you will see Mi Unlock Status
Open Mi Unlock Status - Agree on Permissions Required and Add account and device
2. Go to https://en.miui.com/unlock/ and register your device with your mi account information and wait 168 hours till bootloader unlock is allowed. When time comes around you can unlock by using https://www.xiaomigeek.com/download-mi-flash-unlock-tool.html tool which you can download here.
3. After your device is unlocked now will be the fun part.
4. Download Twrp.img - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-TwMZERIzwoq3KOQ5C3_3MPU5cZwSU0s/view?usp=sharing
5. Download Magisk from ******************
6. Make sure ADB 15 second installer is installed on your computer prior to step 7. - https://androidmtk.com/download-15-seconds-adb-installer
7. Boot to fastboot by powering down - press and hold both power and volume down till fastboot xiaomi rabbit comes up.
8. Go to C Drive and locate adb folder - open up the folder - make sure nothing is highlighted and while having your mouse in the center of the folder window - press shift and right click. This will open a popup for PowerShell.
9. Type in fastboot flash recovery and drag the twrp file to the PowerShell window where ever you placed the file.
10. Most important press volume down and power until fastboot shuts down and quickly pressed the volume up. Do not release the power up until twrp comes up twice. After the second time you can release the volume up button.
11. Most likely the twrp will be in Chinese, just choose English and before swiping make sure the read only is ticked. Now you will be on the main twrp screen.
12. Go to mount and choose Data, system, vendor, cust, nvdata, and sd card - press home.
13. Go to advanced - and tick Close AVB2.0 and swipe
14. Go to File Manager and click on system_root, system, and on the bottom you will see a file above vender regarding to booting recovery or something like that. Click on that file and choose delete. This will stop MIUI from reinstalling stock recovery.
15. Back out of the file manager and choose install root.
16. Now you should be safe to reboot the phone without bootlooping.
17. Once you bootup will see Magisk on your second screen. Make sure you update the magisk software and update the magisk root file. I chose direct install and reboot which worked perfectly.
18. After you installed the updated magisk, make sure you go to app info for magisk and allow all permissions. MIUI locks a lot of stuff down but I was able to get everything working perfectly thanks for the long time researching everywhere.
19. If you want to reinstall MIUI 10.4.1 I included this file as well which will include the .bat files to restore your phone - I will update the link once it is uploaded.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will do my best to help out.
Thank you again and happy rooting.

He forgot the first & second step... Which are the most important:
1. Turn OFF screen lock (pattern, pin or code)
2. Log out from Mi Account (if you are logged in)

Good morning, I am terribly confused. Inside the Megapost, what is the noncwf and the cwf to flash? How do I know that my device has the cwf correctly? I hope you can guide me.

What do you mean change it??? Do you mean to say rename "twrp-CFW-3.3.1-0-begonia_UNOFFICIAL_0506.img" (the file that you linked) to "twrpnoncfw.img" and then make another copy and rename that one to "twrpcfw.img"?

This method from @MarvinMod works on Android 11 (i have Android 11 with root):
Root stock android 10 with TWRP and Magisk-
1- With the device off, hold vol up and power till the device turns on. in stock recovery, choose wipe and factory reset. Then reboot. setup using wifi or data and skip as much as possible. open developer options and make sure oem unlock is checked and power off the device.
2- Hold vol up and vol down while plugging device into PC. on the bootloader splash screen, hit vol up to enter download mode.
3- Open odin and uncheck auto reboot in the options tab. Click AP, then add Recovery.tar and click start. You should get a green pass in odin when complete. this next step is tricky so pay attention.
4- Remove the cable then Hold vol down and power till the device screen goes blank, as soon as it does immediately release all keys then press and hold vol up till the warning about unlocked bootloader appears. TWRP should boot.
5- Copy DFE to external sdcard. In Twrp click install, select storage, choose micro sd and then choose DFE then slide right to confirm and install. when complete, go back to the main screen in TWRP.
6- Click wipe, click format data, type yes and click the blue check box in lower right corner. back out and click reboot, click system, click do not install.
7-Setup device as you normally would and make sure to enable dev options. now turn off the device and boot into twrp. (vol up and power till bootloader warning.)
8- Copy Magisk to sdcard, In Twrp click install and choose Magisk, slide right to confirm, Magisk will now install.
9- Click reboot system and choose do not install. The device will reboot and you should now have Magisk in your apps, make sure to update it. If its not there, wait a few minutes and it should pop up.
Congrats, you should now have TWRP and Magisk on rooted stock rom android 10.
