Unknown group wifi

I want to change the group for file wpa_supplicant.conf which i edited for internal use of wireless of our school. After editing it gave the permissions to root, which i want to change to wifi.
When i do "chgrp wifi wpa_supplicant.conf" the outcome is: chgrp: unknown group wifi
How can i fix this as i dont know how to edit/make groups under Android system
I have exactly the same problem.
I have root access using "UniversalAndroot".
Anyone an idea how to change the group to wifi?
newgrp wifi does not work.
POSSIBLE FIX:
chown system.wifi wpa_supplicant.conf seem to work.
[Q] Unknown group wifi - Is there any solution?
I am doing this on my XPERIA X10 mini
I too am looking for a solution to this problem.
On editing the file, the permissions changed to root:root.
With the owner:group as root:root, I am not able to enable wifi.
I have changed the owner to system, but unable to change the group to wifi like it was (before I edited this file).
In case anyone has found out please let me know.
I shall look into this further and post my findings.

Try "chgrp 1010 wpa_supplicant.conf".

[Q]how to add arabic keyboard to sense keyboard?

hi there , i flashed a new room yesterday , i like the room its
leedroid and its very fast and stable , but the only problem i'm having is the arabic keyboard in sense input keyboard , although the arabic meniu is available !!! any ideas ?
Thanks in advance
You will need to install the Arabic Keyboard from the official Arabic ROM. I have attached the files from my phone, but there is an APK file & a "odex" file, I don't know if it will work correctly or may some Dev can help out making it one working APK for easy installation.
Edit:
Try copying BOTH files to system\app" using using any Root file manager.
Then set permissions as follows:
USER = READ + WRITE
GROUP = READ
OTHERS = READ

noob help!
How To Install:
Extract the ZIP
Use a file manager to Copy/Paste & overwrite the media_profiles.xml to the "/system/etc/" directory
Make sure the media_profiles.xml has permissions set to "rw- r-- r--"
Reboot
When I found myself on the portion to "paste and overwrite" it would not allow me (using ES File Explorer). I didn't know how to proceed. Can anyone help? Also, while we're at it, can someone please explain how to set the permissions?
Not a very tech savvy person, and this is my first Android/ROOT. Any help is much appreciated!:good:
Anyone tried this mod on Lollipop 5.0?
bunchies -- could you please post the stock LGCameraApp.apk and odex
bunchies -- could you please zip up and post the stock LGCameraApp.apk and odex you used when making your modded xml? I was messing around with a few camera mods and lost track of where I saved my originals. Since I'm not bootlooped I'd like to try to find a set before I restore the whole image and start from scratch.
Thanks for your work.
Finally!
I got it all working. Unless you edit the camera_config.xml and add in the video size rear supported the [email protected], all videos will show as 30fps. Always check your permissions after saving (rw- r-- r--). Dont change the front camera settings because the camera will keep crashing. I tested both 1080p variants (30fps & 60fps) with fraps and mediainfo and both are as they should and at 40Mbps bit rate. LG G3 D855 European version,
Solution to Boot stock / Problems
First of all, thanks for the mod! (it work as well on KK)... but i have a problem on Lollipop.
For those who have a problems like soft-brick, bootloop, bootstock or similar after the mod xml, my solution was:
Need: TWRP Installed / ROOT / ES File Explorer
Backup the original media_profiles.xml before rewrite with the mod (by the way, in the first post is the original)
Write the mod (steps in the first comment)
Reboot.
(If the problem occurs... continue)
Boot in Recovery Mode with TWRP
Select Mount > Mount System
Back to main menu and select Advanced > File Manager
Restore the original
Reboot!
It works to me, and no restore needed, hope can i help.
Please help LG G3
Hi there,
I did try to install the camera mod on my LG G3 and something is wrong
After following the simple instructions on how to mod the camera and rebooting the phone my LG does not goes pass the starting logo of LG. LED is indicating and blinking but it does not start up at all. Probably the reason of by phone behaving like this is that I have the latest version of software (Lolipop). Does someone of you experts have any idea how to fix this? Tnx in advance
P.S.
I changed the name of original file media_profiles.xml in "/system/etc/" for just in case before i did copy media_profiles.xml to the "/system/etc/" .
Than I set permissions to "rw- r-- r--"
and reboot
Thats all

[Q] Updater-script can fix setting permission ?

Hello everybody
I've made a ROM kitkat based on a the stock one ( yes, i'm very proud of it ^^), but when I go to Setting>Sécurity, setting stop immediatly... i've read somewhere that I should whrite in a terminal "su"," mount blablabla... "," chwod 0644 blablabla... " but it didn't work, it say that there is no directory...
I've try to fix this whis the updater script and the command "set recursive perm" but it didn't work too...
There are another solution ?

Does someone have file_contexts file for OP3 on 7.X (Nougat) ?

Trying to make some very minor changes to the ROM, and I just need the original "file_contexts" (NON-BIN VERSION) file for OP3 on 7.X (Nougat). Does anyone have a copy of it?
Summary: 7.X+ now uses .bin files ("file_contexts.bin"). I can't use this file with the make_ext4fs utility. I need to use the original format "file_contexts" file. If anyone could convert the attached .bin file (I don't know how, and professor Google doesn't yield any salient results), or if they have a file they know will work, please let me know.
Thank you!!!
