noob help!
How To Install:
Extract the ZIP
Use a file manager to Copy/Paste & overwrite the media_profiles.xml to the "/system/etc/" directory
Make sure the media_profiles.xml has permissions set to "rw- r-- r--"
Reboot
When I found myself on the portion to "paste and overwrite" it would not allow me (using ES File Explorer). I didn't know how to proceed. Can anyone help? Also, while we're at it, can someone please explain how to set the permissions?
Not a very tech savvy person, and this is my first Android/ROOT. Any help is much appreciated!:good:

Anyone tried this mod on Lollipop 5.0?

bunchies -- could you please post the stock LGCameraApp.apk and odex
bunchies -- could you please zip up and post the stock LGCameraApp.apk and odex you used when making your modded xml? I was messing around with a few camera mods and lost track of where I saved my originals. Since I'm not bootlooped I'd like to try to find a set before I restore the whole image and start from scratch.
Thanks for your work.

Finally!
I got it all working. Unless you edit the camera_config.xml and add in the video size rear supported the [email protected], all videos will show as 30fps. Always check your permissions after saving (rw- r-- r--). Dont change the front camera settings because the camera will keep crashing. I tested both 1080p variants (30fps & 60fps) with fraps and mediainfo and both are as they should and at 40Mbps bit rate. LG G3 D855 European version,

Solution to Boot stock / Problems
First of all, thanks for the mod! (it work as well on KK)... but i have a problem on Lollipop.
For those who have a problems like soft-brick, bootloop, bootstock or similar after the mod xml, my solution was:
Need: TWRP Installed / ROOT / ES File Explorer
Backup the original media_profiles.xml before rewrite with the mod (by the way, in the first post is the original)
Write the mod (steps in the first comment)
Reboot.
(If the problem occurs... continue)
Boot in Recovery Mode with TWRP
Select Mount > Mount System
Back to main menu and select Advanced > File Manager
Restore the original
Reboot!
It works to me, and no restore needed, hope can i help.

Please help LG G3
Hi there,
I did try to install the camera mod on my LG G3 and something is wrong
After following the simple instructions on how to mod the camera and rebooting the phone my LG does not goes pass the starting logo of LG. LED is indicating and blinking but it does not start up at all. Probably the reason of by phone behaving like this is that I have the latest version of software (Lolipop). Does someone of you experts have any idea how to fix this? Tnx in advance
P.S.
I changed the name of original file media_profiles.xml in "/system/etc/" for just in case before i did copy media_profiles.xml to the "/system/etc/" .
Than I set permissions to "rw- r-- r--"
and reboot
Thats all

T-Mobile GS3 "SamsungCamera.odex" file request

Greetings!
I originally posted a troubleshooting question relating to file naming conventions and the inability to rename a file once it has been erroneously named....
short version: I am requesting the "SamsungCamera.odex" file from the T-Mobile Galaxy S3 phone. Mine is corrupted and as such I cant utilize the camera or the video camera on the phone.. (not too fun on a brand new phone...)
For the long version(or to help me see how/why this happened or how to fix it the correct way... please see this thread.
Thank you, in advance, for anyone that can please help me to fix this incredibly annoying problem.

Here you go, dude. (.odex isn't listed as a valid file extension for upload on the forum, so I zipped it.)

Thank you so much!!!!
I'm going to try placing that file in the /system/app folder right now and hopefully that will restore stock functionality to the video camera!
Will follow up!
Thank you a million! .. quite sincerely!
That worked like a charm!
Dropped the (correctly named) SamsungCamera.odex file in the /system/app folder, renamed the modified camera apk to ".apk.modded" and renamed the original apk file back to ".apk" extension and viola: Instant camera functionality.
Thank you, again, so much.
You've literally made my day!
Thank you.
Hi! Could you upload the original SamsungCamera.apk, please? Because when I'm tried to install HX Camera mod, i put the two files into a zip, when the Root Browser crashed. The two files were gone, and the zip became corrupt. After this, i put the mod to system\app. On the first run, it worked, but after a while it crashed. I run the camera again and it crashed after a time, again, and again. So I decided to try the video. And now it doesn't even want to start. So that's why i request the stock camera, and please upload as soon as possible. Thanks.

Can i release sounds like this all the time or should i do like "packs"? Or is there a different site i can upload them to, cuz im learning how to theme and dev apps. It seems that sounds arn't to hard to make so i dont want to waste everyones time with these if theres no need for them?
Sent from my T-Mobile SGH-T999 XDA App

Can someone please help me with the Myfiles.apk

I am new to the forum and don't know if posting a request in this section is appropriate but... Anw, I use Android Revolution and Rom Cleaner. Never thought that RC would delete the My Files. I couldn't install it even when I put in system/app and change permission and reboot.
Found the solution: pull the file directly from the custom/stock rom and use it for installation.

LG G3 HotSpot limit
pvinodnayak said:
This MOD is for those phones which have not been activated on Sprint network.
There is a thread already present how to activate Wi-Fi tethering for non Sprint activated phones here.
Many LG G2 LS980 can tether but only one device can connect to it.
This MOD will increase the number of users that connect to your phones Wi-Fi Hotspot.
Use Root Explorer , Browse to carrier/wifi/gm --> copy "gm" file to sd card of your phone, press and hold the same file to get a secondary popup menu, select rename, rename the file to gm.txt.
Press and hold again and select Open in text editor, change the value from 1 to your desired number, 2 in my case. save and exit, now when you save this file and exit, if the value you entered has saved, it will create a new file "gm.txt.bak" if this file is created then the value you have entered in gm.txt file has saved. Rename the file back to "gm" from "gm.txt" and copy back to carrier/wifi/ folder. check if the permissions are same as the rest of the files present in the same folder, if not change it to same. NO REBOOT required. Please do test and report back.
Please proceed if you know how to modify root files. I have done this mod to my phone and currently connected 2 devices, (laptop & Note 3) both have data of hotspot from G2. :good: if helped

Bootanimation Not Working, Help!

I'm done trying to troubleshoot this, it has taken too much of my time...
Here's a link to my bootanimation.zip. Please look through the desc.txt and tell me what is wrong with it that is making it not show up on reboot. I'm on Nexus 7 (2013 - WiFi - Stock - Root - TWRP.)
View attachment bootanimation.zip
I still can't figure it out!
When adding things to the archive, remember to set Compression Method to STORE (in winrar). This saved me finally...
Sorry for wasting a thread, but maybe somebody will find this helpful since it has an answer in it...^^^
