My device is a rooted GT-N7100 running stock rom (Android 4.4.2) I've been using for nearly 5 years.
"Charging paused battery temperature too low" message when the charger is connected
Also when the stock camera app is opened, shows "unable to use flash due to low temperature", but the flash works fine with other camera apps including the flashlight widget.
Replacing the USB circuit didn't work
(Due to this reason i use 2 batteries and charge the externally replacing them one after the other)
All the other functions of the phone works perfectly.
This problem disappears from time to time but happens again.(Right now this issue is not occurring)
Phone suddenly losses the power (not shutting down) when it gets heated to some extent (while playing games)
Sometimes it wouldn't turn back on even if the phone is cooled down and the battery is full.
After a day or two i was able to power up again as usual.
Random apps stops working
While having the above problem, the phone works fine. But suddenly apps like facebook, whatsapp, google maps, TouchWiz UI..... (one at a time) starts to crash.
I tried uninstalling and trying to install back again from the play store, the app downloads but when trying to automatically install, it gives an error (error 12 or 11) , unable to install.
The only solution for this is to Factory reset
(settings too crashes sometimes, so i have to access boot menu and do the reset)
Similar thing happens and constantly pops up "android.process.acore has stopped"
Previously this problem too can be solved by factory reset.
But right now, this acore issue still appears even after the factory reset. Now im stuck at the welcome screen with that popup message
Does anyone have an idea what is wrong with this device.
Thanks for your time.
Was the phone dropped or exposed to moisture?

Of course i've dropped it several times over the years, but I don't think that is the reason.
And no significant moisture i guess...
Thanks

Hi all,
recently my D855 with v20T (root/xposed) started to sort of randomly reboot. It seems like once the device gets too hot, it's gone.
Happens rarely during general usage, often while playing a game, and especially often when starting the camera.
But it behaves strangely in general: if I do *not* unlock the SIM (and thus can't use the phone), the device runs forever, without a reboot, no matter what the device temperature is. Same for recovery (TWRP), it can stay there for hours and heat up however it likes, no reboot.
Removing the SIM and/or microSD does not make a difference, battery level does not matter.
I pulled a backup of the stock ROM, wiped everything (system, data, cache, dalvik) and flashed Fulmics 5.
Unlocking worked once or twice, the next time I entered my SIM pin, the lock screen showed, then reboot. This behaviour (unlock SIM, reboot) repeats endlessly. If I leave it turned off for 10-15 minutes - or sitting at the SIM unlock screen - it most of the time works fine after unlocking.
Wiped again, flashed robalm's v30F ROM.
Guess what, exactly the same.
On both variants, the phone got rather hot during the "optimizing app x of 190" screen, but never rebooted, only after I unlocked the SIM.
Let it sit overnight on the unlock screen, no reboot at all. Unlocked this morning, added my google account, rebooted - same thing again.
It's starting to drive me crazy, now it froze right in the middle of setting up the google account after another clean flash.
Is the phone prone for repair, or can anyone think of another solution to this weird issue?
Edit: Fun fact: if I manage to do the lock screen swipe before the SIM lock screen comes up, the phone reboots instantly as well.
Edit2: Followed the instructions from this thread to go back to completely stock v20T. Rebooted after optimizing apps before I could even choose a language, ran seemingly fine after this, started bootlooping after the first manual reboot. A full wipe later (volDn+Power) it at least boots. What the hell?
Thank you and best regards,
Sub
I have similar problem. Cant connect issue with exact cause, but it restarts almost every few minutes of use. Camera launch causes restart almost immediately. Phone is unusable. My VolDn button is not working so I'm currently a bit afraid to try anything new... I updated from Fulmics4.1 (i havent got reboot problems since last 1,5week ago) to 5.1 but issue persists even after full wipe. Seriously dont know what to think about it.
At first I thought that reboots are caused by low power (much more frequent with battery under 30%), then maybe big cpu load or high brightness.... now basically everything causes reboots. Im really annoyed this phone been crap since day one...
I havent tried your sim unclocking method as my doesnt have pin security etc. Let me know if you will find out solution.

Just received the device back from LG, they replaced the mainboard, even got a new IMEI and v30c preinstalled.
It is the same case, with the protective glass on top and a dent on the left plus the 2-3 micro-cracks around the frame.
Not sure if they swapped the battery. The problem showed up again with anywhere between 50 and 15 percent battery left.
Unfortunately I only tested it after leaving the shop, after a long walk to the bus which I caught just in time.
Setup assistant completed -> reboot.
Google setup nearly completed -> reboot.
Removed SIM and MicroSD, started phone, started camera, made a movie -> reboot.
Wiped again (strange enough, v30c only has 61 applications to optimize while v20* has 190+?), tried again, same thing.
Next, after letting the back camera take a movie for 2-3 minutes, I wanted to adjust display brightness to the max.
Result: see screenshot. This also happened with the cable plugged in.
I will return it for repair once more tomorrow...
Anyway, thank you for your answers

It's a common thing if you use camera specially if you take video in 4k mode your phone heat up and you can't use full brightness in stock rom it's a feature try moded thermal config...also try new battery if battery percentage suddenly dropped it seems battery issue because i face the same problem....

I used to have thermals installed, the 75 dregrees Celsius variant, iirc.
Everything else was at stock, except for one short excursion to CM12 and one to ... some custom ROM.
Think I never actually took 4k videos, and the first 1,5 years the phone got a bit warmer but never really hot. Only recently it started to get really hot especially when using the camera, this also consistently was what could cause the reboot loops for sure. Other candidates were a few games which use more processing power like Alto's Adventure.
The battery drops by 2-3% after a reboot, because of the load the phone has (and the heat it develops during boot).
Anyway, I added the screenshot to the next repair request, and the woman at the counter said they'd look into the battery specifically (it seems to give out too much voltage, she said), but also check everything else once more.
I'll let them repair up to three times, then ask for a replacement, should be legal within 2 years after purchase in Germany.
Also, next time I'll take the 15 minutes (before doing a 1h/direction trip) to factory reset the phone, set it up and start the camera. If it reboots during any of this -> return, repeat.

Received my phone back from LG, finally.
Battery's broken - it outputs too much power.
Ordered a new battery and just put it in, so far no reboots during setup.
At least this got me a new mainboard and new IMEI

Hahahahahahahahaha
I just wondered why the phone shows 25 GB free everywhere, even without SD.
Turns out, during repair instead of replacing the 16GB/2GB board with an identical one, they installed the 32GB/3GB board
\o/ for LG
I have an LG-G4 (VS986 - Verizon), rooted (13b). On three occasions over the past week, the phone has hard-crashed (totally powered off immediately and unexpectedly, and would NOT power up, even after a battery pull). In each case, the only way to bring it back to life was to plug it into a charger, which booted it up when the power button was held - but in every case the battery was at least 80% charged at the time of the crash (and I tried two different batteries), so it wasn't a power issue. It only happened when using the camera (actually taking pictures, not browsing through the gallery). It doesn't occur every time (I shot about 15 pictures this morning, and it didn't reproduce the crash).
I also have noticed that the pictures do not flip vertically/horizontally during viewing (usually in QuickPic but also in Gallery) but Advanced Tools says the accelerometer, etc. is working fine. This is also recent - started about the same time as the issue above.
Anyone else seen this?
Thanks in advance...!
Relash the stock firmware that u are on by lgup or lg flashtool (cse way) if ur in custom rom go back to stock..if it still persisits then its a hardware issue most probably a faulty power Button
I had a similar problem. Did you use an sd card? If the photos are saved to the sd card, that could be the problem, as it was for me. As soon as I took it out, the rebooting stopped (except I could do the battery pull).
It's been behaving itself since the initial post. Yes, I use an SD card, but it passes a filesystem check and neither the camera nor any other apps have had any problem writing to it otherwise thus far. I'm going to keep watching it for a while; if it recurs and persists, I'll consider reflashing the KDZ and starting over.
Thanks!
This started happening to me once I got a 3rd party battery. Usually when the flash goes off.
seems like battery related..issue
Hi all, read many threads here and finally posting.
I have an xperia M (C1905 I think)
Short story:
As soon as I turn on this device within a few seconds I get the "Unfortunately, xxxx has stopped". I hit okay and within a second something else is stopped. This is repeated constantly for as long as I could tolerate waiting for. The odd occasion I have managed to get maybe 5 seconds between app crashing to navigate into the settings to try something out or check the album.
I am asking for help on what to do in order to access the files on the device. I really really want to save the images. I since has moved on to a Z and now a Z3 but at this moment I want to get the images. (Factory reset is thus out of the question). I rather leave the phone intact for years to pass until some technology makes it possible to retrieve the files.
Longer story:
I think this issue started occurring after an android update - which leads me to my conspiracy at the end of the post. Basically after an update I started noticing random apps being stopped/crashing without warning. Apps that weren't even being used. This happened maybe once a week, then a couple times a week. Seemed pretty random at first. Thus why I never took a moment to see the exponential trend and act fast to back up data. Over the course of a month probably, this just got worse to the point where an app of some sort is constantly crashing. It could be facebook, then gmail, then google, then a service, then homescreen blah blah anything and everything is crashing just so it can fill the screen. Multiple at a time. I hit ok and another appears or 5 more appear. Then I might get a glorious 4/5 seconds to browse the contents of the phone then boom another batch of crashes. The phone is completely useless right now, no way to navigate. Also, even with the phone turned on in safe mode or not, I cannot access the files whilst connected to my computer. The charging indicator shows up, computer recognises the device but on the odd occasion it does show up in "my computer" the folder does not open and the file explorer/documents just crashes. Xperia companion doesn't work either.
There was also an issue with charging/transferring media with the charge port. Bad connections but it was made better using the Sony original cable I have now. It charges alright now (instead of needing "the right" angle). Still, as far as I can remember data was hard to trasnfer, maybe I got 10 songs copied over before it stopped responding and had to cancel. All the files on the SD card I saved of course but the ones on internal storage are still there. I browsed the album for a few seconds and I just want to get them on my pc. I tried to copy to SD card but I can't perform that with the constant bombarding of crashing app error notifications that fill the screen. Also it seems like once the phone is on, I can navigate around (with the bombardment of crashing) but once the screen is allowed to time out it doesn't wake back with the power button. To mess with it again I have to pull the battery and put it back in. I have booted in safe mode to no avail, apps still keep crashing.
Please please help. I have USB debugging enabled if that helps? I just want to drag and drop my images and then the phone can sit in a draw. I am sure a factory reset would have it working back to normal but I can't lose the files.
Btw I think SONY is purposefully killing off these older devices. The phone worked flawlessly, yes it's older and not as fast but there was not a single issue (besides maybe the charge port wear). This issue with crashing is completely software related after an android update.
The phone is not rooted and no random software was installed (just social media and the like).
THANK you for any help!
Brad
Hey which rom are you using? do you have unlock your bootloader? if you are using stock rom and not unlock your phone bootloader then it can be resolve by using a software repair using sony pc companion.
OK, I was with stock ROM, rooted only for use Samba File Share (I used this app for so many years on my old SII, I really like it) and was everything normal, until today, I opened the Facebook Messenger App, to send a message, and took a photo from my cat, then I received a Whatsapp message at the same time, I was aiming the camera, and the screen blinked for a sec, and the phone "freezes" - it was still showing the camera normal, but unresponsive to commands, I waited for 5 minutes, and then I forced reboot holding power + volume, and it restarted, the vib motor got stuck on, and Asus logo screen "booting" for many minutes, I waited until it restart it self again - this time everything loaded up normally - When I go to the main screen, I noticed that Messenger app was without Icon, with a SD card icon, like it was unloaded, I opened the Chrome for search, tried to reinstall the app, returned a error when installing, back to chrome, searching about it, and then the phone freezes again, crash Chrome, everything starts to crash, Google services, background services, everything, I was forced to restart - and then I got boot loop.
[email protected]%!, I tried to wipe cache, and nothing changed, so I did a wipe data, and the phone recovered fine (I think) still here installing apps, but now I'm worried. It was a random error, or maybe it will occur again? Could it be consequence from rooting? I'm on stock ROM, Lollipop 5.0 I think, could be a bug from this ROM?
Edit: I just checked, the phone still rooted even after wipe
Edit 2: I was thinking on a theory, I work with computer, repair etc, Ive seen this happening on notes.. I was thinking if the issue could be related to power problem. Like, the battery was 90% I think, but the screen was full bright, and I was using camera, and Messenger, and then I received a message on whatsapp, the screen blinked - maybe the power "failed" on the phone, and some process on background, on low level, got corrupted and it just got worse after phone processing it on background? Maybe? I dont know if it makes sense, maybe dont (?) haha
There are similar threads but I think my problem is different from the others.
In the morning everything was fine for about an hour but once I left the house my phone froze out of nowhere. In the beginning It was still able to reboot into Android but always crashed shortly after and right now it's looping. I can still get into fastboot but recovery mode doesn't work, I just get back into the bootloop, probably because the phone crashes before it enters recovery mode (first google logo shows, then it crashes).
Sometimes when it crashes it produces really weird artifacts, which can cover most of the screen or are only a few pixels large, in different colors.
I found this guide which might help but I can't get into Recovery Mode anyway.
I read about the contacts getting lose, still gotta figure out if certain scenarios will allow it to boot.
Software is stock Android, on the latest update the Pixel XL received.
Update1: So after about 7 hours it finally booted to Android again, after taking of the case (cheap plastic one). And it does so consistently for some reason but sadly still crashes after a few minutes. Maybe it's heat related, the phone always got warm more easily with the case on.
I also just noticed that the phone restarts on it's own after crashing (and for some reason activates the night light) which could mean that it's trying to protect itself from damage.
Update2: Seems to be temperature related. I put it on a cold ice cube tray and since then it didn't turn itself off.
Considering the fact it restarts on it's own there could be some error logs, how could I retrieve those?
Update3: Higher tendency to boot when battery is low.

Maybe replace battery?
Hi there! I am not sure if your problem was fixed yet. But my Pixel XL died yesterday and did the same exact thing. It went into an infinire boot-loop, and after trying many times to power off and reboot, some weird artifacts appeared.
I think I messed up the phone, because at first the phone booted and then restarted, but now it just restarts and never ends....
EDIT: After some hours of rebooting, and more artifacts, the Pixel finally booted on android. Battery was at 4% so I guess that helped. It keeps rebooting from time to time, but at least I can copy my photos now haha.
