Breathing red LED - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Hi
I have a breathing red notification light going on and won't go off , even if I turn off the phone.
Scenario:
Yesterday was a very hot and humid day, and I left my P2 in my gym back with a barely moist towel among other things. Seems that the the phone absorbed the moisture and decided to no longer boots.
It is extremely weird and concerning as this never happened to me before with any other phones for as long as I remember. I mean the moisture was barely anything, and nothing else had condensation.
I used to take my phones to Sauna and that never happened either.
Isn't the P2 circuit supposed to be Nano-coated to resist moisture?
So, any idea what that light mean? Is my phone dead? It is only 1 day old.
BTW, I vacuumed the phone thoroughly and it's been in rice since yesterday. I don't dare turn it on yet.
Thank you so much for any assistance and may you never experience this.

Swimming lessons for my Blue Angel

Hey guys,
So last night I get home late, been diggin' the bop at local jazz joint, had some 4 Roses in me, entered the bedroom using my Qtek 9090 as a flashlight so I don't have to wake up my girlfriend by turning on the light. She had been a little sick earlier so had a bucket with some water by the bed, just in case. I make too much noise so I do wake her up, she recognises me and wants to move over to make room; struggling with blankets, she accidentally hits my hand. There goes my Qtek, falls on the matress, bumps to the side, down next to the bed, splashes into the bucket.
Damn.
So here's my problem.
My Qtek was completely immersed in clear water for a very short time. I let it dry, taking out the battery and SD card to allow air in and out of the device; but now, I can't turn it on. With the battery inserted, the flashing led on the top right is not working and I only get the 'Qtek 9090' boot screen. It's stuck there, backlight doesn't work. With the battery taken out and the device on mains power, the led on the top right is red but I get nothing on the screen. Hard reset not working either.
What do you guys think? Is it worth getting this repaired? Or does it seem that everything is damaged?
Thank you thank you
Sniffles

I would suggest to keep the battery off the device, open it, blow all the corners with hairdryer, close it, and test your luck. If it's under guarantee, I would do the same, and if it does not work, send it back.

Dropped in water

Yes, i know, stupid move.
Got it out right away and dried it up with paper.
When i try to turn it on it gets past the T-mobile white screen to the green windows mobile one and then the screen shuts down but the keyboard is still light-up.
Does anyone know what i should do in this case? This happened 5 minutes ago and it's still drying up. Anyone have any tips?
What are the chances that it's bricked? Should i be looking for a new cell?
Take out the batter asap and leave it out for around 3 days. Next, put the phone in some sunlight or some rice to dry the water out. After that you can try putting the battery back in and hope it's back alive.
cool thanks. I guess it was a bad idea of me taking the battery in and out and turning it on and off to see if it's still working.
I got it under my lamp right now which emits a reasonable amount of heat.
I'll leave it here and hope for the best.
Ok well i had it dry up in a bowl of rice with the lamp over it.
Everything seems to be working fine... except,
it shows as if the cellphone is plugged in and charging when it's not.
Battery went from 89% to 100% with the cell just sitting on my table...
Anyone has any hypothesis on how that might have happened?

Well electricity and water are never a good mix, i droped my first pay and go "Nokia Ringo" down a toilet "not my toilet even worse" and dried it, it was under guarantee so just phoned up Nokia didn't tell them what i had done just stated it wasn't working, sent it away and got a replacement.
I have to say I think you should have been a little more patient. I know its hard but this has happened to me twice, once with a Magician and once with an iPaq. The first time I panicked and turned the device back on to see if it was working. It spluttered to life and then died - never to work again. The second time I removed the battery, left the case open, etc for two full days and when it came back on everything was fine.
I know its so hard to leave your device off when you are panicking. But if this only happened last night you should really consider giving it at least another 24 hours. Even though it may appear to be dry now there is obviously still some small problem with power discharge - and if that problem is due to even a tiny bit of moisture near the battery it could rapidly turn from a minor glitch into a full scale breakdown.
Actually the fact I am so damn clumsy probably explains why my first post to this forum concerned backing up my phone! LOL
I hope it all works out for you.
GS
I know i should i have been more patient but it's just so hard...
I got a replacement for now tho, so it'll stay in there for at least another day.
Thanks for the advice guys.

[Q] Dropped My Galaxy S4 in Water. What next?

First off, I'd like to apologize for my first post to the forums being a stupid situation such as this one, but you know, it's noob friendly  Secondly, I'm in a pretty bad spot right now. Of course me being the idiot I am took my phone to the bathroom with me, I went to grab my shorts and little did I know, I left my phone sitting on them. When I pulled the shorts out the phone fell straight into the toilet (guess you could say my situation is pretty "crappy"). It was in the water for no longer than 10 seconds and I removed the battery and SIM card from the phone in no longer than a minute. The phone was not completely submerged, but it did fall top first. After my phone had been in the rice for an hour, my curiosity got the best of me. I wanted to see what would happen if I put the battery back in my device. When I tried to, I head a sizzling noise. Does this mean my phone or battery is "fried?" The red LED was still on the front of my phone so I'm led to believe that the phone is still working, but I'm not sure. Any tips will help. Thanks in advance!
You probably blew it up by putting the battery in.
You may get lucky if you dismantle the entire phone and let it sit in front of a small fan OVERNIGHT to dry properly.
Reassemble in the morning, good luck.

I was fearing that PanchoPlanet, I did what you said and just left it in the rice over night. This morning I went to put the battery back in and I no longer heard the sizzling noise, but the device would not power on. The LED on the front would alternate between purple, red, and blue. Not sure if this means anything.
Rice is not the best medium for total dehumidification, having all components out in stream of air is the only way to get rid of moisture.
This is coming from experience, salvaged my wife's phone and my nephews phone this way (Samsung S2 and S4). I may be worth giving it another try. Also make sure battery has a full charge, check it with a test meter.

The battery in the phones today are internally fused, so if there is a heavy current demand above the fusing level, the fuse will open and the battery is then worthless. You might have had that happen and if you can, try having a friend or your carrier's store put the battery in a known working device and see if it powers that device up. You might have to get a new battery if it won't, however it does not mean that it was the only failure..... I'd dry the heck out of the phone and only then insert it into the phone. I used to dry devices that water entered like phones, watches, etc by leaving the device over a small wattage lamp, or have the device lifted a little above the bulb so that it won't melt anything and did that for a couple of days before trying to check if the device still worked. (I'm an elex tech) Good Luck! and hope that the electronic gods smile upon you!
Aloha!
I concur with bobolinko.

UPDATE
Hey PanchoPlanet, bobolinko., thanks for the recommendations, I left the phone in rice and this morning I plugged it in to give it a last ditch effort, it powered on and is currently charging. I tried to boot it and it stayed on the "Samsung Galaxy S4" so I'm guessing that that has something to do with the battery. Regardless, I'm glad that the device powered on.

Rain killed my moto 360

Hi guys,
So, yesterday I got cought in a really bad rainstorm, I saw my watch turn it self on, thought the battery must be empty, but when i came home. It didn't seem to turn on. Although the white light of the dock is lighting up. I left in the dock when I slept, but I still see no sign of life..
But, i see some water behind the heart rate sensor. When I wear the watch a couple minutes, it's gone, when I put it on the charger, the water behind the sensor is back..
Has that anything to do with this?
How can I solve this?
Please help..

No offence, but the dumbest thing you could have done is probably trying to turn on and charge a wet device. Electronic can substan water, while it is turned (completely) off and the battery don't get wet. So what you SHOULD have done, was to wait.
Try to put it in a bunch of rice and let it be there overnight and if still not working, you need use your warranty and get it repaired. After All, it should should be to substan rain.
I have showered with my watch and never had an issue
Talked to one of the support people,
and they said its not covered.
Gues im stuck with a useless moto 360 now ..
If the back of the watch was cracked due to the band you may argue that's was caused it and get it repaired under warranty. I don't see any other reason for it to break from some rain.
I would talk to someone else in support as the watch is listed as IP67 Water Resistant. Here is a link of what the IP67 means it should be able to handle.

I had my watch behave like this once and it wasn't anything ot do with water, it just got into a weird state. I left it on the charger for a day, took it off the charger and it woulnd't turn on. Put it back on for another day thinking the thing just up and died, but the next day it turned on just fine.
Obviously the water thing throws a BIG wrench in the works of how this compares to your situation, but... give it a day before panicking I guess is my advice.
It's supposed to be waterproof to IP67. That includes rain, in fact it should stand submersion in 1metre of water. I'd send it back
If they say it's not covered point this fact out to them and threaten them with the small claims court for selling goods not fit for purpose and being faulty, in not being up to the standards that they state.

Moto Z Play was partially submerged in water, condition deteriorated, won't turn on

My wife dropped her Moto Z Play into a puddle and the bottom half of the phone was submerged. Initially the phone continued to work and she wasn't concerned, so she did not properly dry the phone off. Eventually the screen stopped working and she plugged it in before she told me about it. I dried the phone off as best I could, removing the cover and taking out the sim card. I placed it into rice, where it has been for about a week now. The phone will not power on at all, it makes no noises when plugged in (the phone usually makes a high pitched, very quiet tone when charging). The forward facing light does blink white when it is plugged in but it makes no other response. I do not know what that means and I have not seen anything about it at any forums. The battery is not removable. Any suggestions on what to do now and any explanation on what the blinking white light means? Thanks
same exact situation...
Same thing happened to a friends' moto z play this weekend when she was tubing at a local river. The battery had died so her's was not on when it hit the water and was only submerged for a few seconds. She dried it off best she could and plugged the charger in to see if it would charge. It just blinks the white light on the front three times and then the battery lightning bolt graphic displays momentarily and repeats this. Phone will not turn on as well. We haven't left it on the charger for any period longer than a minute or two. Found this thread, looking for similar situations hopefully for a solution.
FWIW - we did find this youtube video water testing the Z play and it seems as though this phone should be relative water resistant.
since i haven't made 10 posts I cant include url but if you enter watch?v=dxvLKskmkg8 after you tube dot com you can find that video. THIS IS NOT SPAM and very relevant to this thread.
Thanks for sharing @ABTF16 anyhow... Hopefully someone knowledgeable to this scenario will be able to provide an answer at some point in the near future.

Quite weird!
It passes the water test with no problem.
Speaker working fine camera working fine touch working fine.??
And in the video he said that the Motorola claims that it has advanced nano coating technology which can protect it from accidental spills or splashes.
Trust me, my Moto X Force went the same way
One second drop in water, it was upright and it was only the bottom inch and for less than one second as I immediately removed it, continued to work for the rest of the day but died in the evening and would not turn on
Sent to Moto and returned with 'unit beyond economical repair' along with a photo and half of the components were corroded
WTF!! one second in water
Don't get me wrong I love Moto's (I have a Z Play now) but they are rubbish if they even get moist
If your phone gets wet you are supposed to leave it off for at least a day in a dry area. I left mine in a hot car with leather seats. You need to let all the components dry out. You could achieve the same affect with a hair dryer.
Turning it on, or trying to charge it is no good idea.
Sent from my Moto Z Play using XDA Labs

I had accidently taken my MZP under a running tap and with the pressure the water went all the way inside my MZP but then at first it worked fine for 1 hour or less. Then it switched off automatically and started rebooting. I still managed to get it on then it started to show results like camera stopped working and fingerprint scanner stopped working. I shaked the phone and then removed the water which was remaining. Then I managed to switch it off and then put it in rice for 2 days. After that its working fine, only fingerprint scanner was not working but yesterday it started working and now everything is back to normal. Try isopropyl alcohol which is 99% pure alcohol and then dip your phone in and then put it again for 2 days in rice. I hope this works. However I just needed rice to do its work and mine worked. Hope yours work but if its damaged go to the service centre asap.
