HTC One m8s root. How to? - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. How to root HTC M8S . I need recovery.img Which is right? Thanks

Just scroll down. All you need is just several posts below yours: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ht...ral/make-custom-recovery-htc-one-m8s-t3114245
General rule (and best practice) on XDA, just spend a few minutes looking and searching, before posting. Most questions have already been asked and answered. Especially something common as "how to root".

[Q] Downgrade from OTA 3.26.651.6

My has the issue of the "rising Screen" or Glass separation. Thinking that sprint would verify some information from my phone I updated the phone with the most recent RUU from sprint. This has given me:
HBoot .93.0000000
Android 2.2
Software: 3.26.651.6
Basband: 2.15.00.07.28
I have searched the forums, but I a not finding a root process for this version of the EVO, nor am I able to downgrade the Hboot to anything root-able.
Am I stuck for a little bit? Or is there a magical way to completely blank out the phone and start over with the shipped rom 1.39..
Thank you to all the Devs for the hardwork done so far.
Sprint would do nothing for the Glass separation, Since it is only cosmetic issue there was not thing to be done. I was given HTC's number.
lol prepare to be flamed. Find the RUU for 1.47 and try running that from fastboot mode. It won't work, but do it anyway and if it does work, post back here.
Next time, please do a search, or at least post questions in Q/A. This has been asked and answered a thousand times today.
lets turn this thread into face palm pics lol.
Im just busting your balls but nothing will fix your issue and sprint stores wont care.

Thanks for the Idea, I will try to give it a whirl. Sorry that I didn't place this in Q/A, most of the activity seems to be in the dev section. But I did mentioned that I searched, I was unable to locate anyone asking how to downgrade from .93 HBOOT to .76.000. I am new to Android so from time to time I will need assistance. I don't seem understand the requirement to ridicule users from asking a question. I highly doubt 1000 people posted the question about reverting from the latest RUU.
MODS this can be moved to the Q/A section.

Need help? Post here!

If everybody who needs help with rooting, unrooting, adb, this or that app, in short every question that is asked in this or in the q&a forum daily would please post his or her question here. Maybe it helps against the polution more and more people are getting annoyed about. Don't expect any answers though: USE SEARCH!! should be the answer to all these questions.
If you agree, please reply and keep this message high on our board.

Is there any manual method to get root avoid Unrevoked soft?
I tried unrevoked and get my recovery vanished, my desire unbootable and dunno what to do now.
I can only boot to hboot and fastboot, but reflashing with OTA update didnt help.
Use search, learn to read.

If I'm reading this correctly, you have posted a totally useless thread so new members can come here, ask questions then be flamed?

Oh god. Freakin' lazy people. Figure things out yourself. There is so much information around here. Do you even know how to boot in recovery? Or do you know what a recovery is?
I suggest you figure that out first. I don't get the feeling (while reading your post) that you understand what you are doing..

Chill out. OP has already asked the question in another (linked by armitage) thread, had it answered, BUT entered a time warp which led to the same question being posted again.

Oh sorry man, my fault. You are totally right.
I thought this was his main thread, you know. That he opened ANOTHER thread with the same question.
But still. The information regarding his question is on XDA. When you first come here, you have to read very much.
Not that I'm for a long time on XDA. I just joined. But I rooted, S-OFF'd, installed a custom HBOOT just by reading threads on this forum. You know what I mean? Threads like this just pollute a forum like XDA. But that's just my point of view.

[Q] Return Desire HD to stock

I have a desire hd running cyanogenmod 7.0.3 but want to go back to a stock htc room. How do I go about doing this?
Question has been asked and answered too many times already.
Forum rules state you must search before posting.
Your answer depends on method used to get root and S-OFF.
Hint, look in development forum for "one click root, Eng S-OFF".
Read the threads, follow the guides, if you get stuck let us know at what step. But I assure you, the guides are accurate if you follow them.

[Q] Can I root inspite of upgrade to Gingerbread?

I too upgraded to the official Gingerbread release. Consequently, I lost root and cannot access recovery anymore.
When I turn on my phone pressing down the volume button, it shows the following info:
---Alpharev---
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL - SYNW0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23

I am getting confusing information through the numerous threads here whether I should be able to have root access again or not. Can someone please shed some light on this?
I have tried flashing clockwork recovery using fastboot but have not been successful. I am willing to try anything else.
Many thanks in advance!
Yet another thread on the same topic

apology and clarification
I apologize for creating yet another thread which deals with the same issue. But it is not because I did not search... In fact, I am closely following several related threads and know exactly what information is out there.
I posted a new thread because of two reasons:
1. I just realized that my phone still has S-OFF and an HBoot version 6.93... I followed all the instructions I could find on flashing a new clockwork recovery, tried two different versions of the same (2.5.0.7 and 3.0.0.5) and go the same error: "FAILED... <status malformed<1 bytes>>". There is no discussion anywhere about interpreting this error or how to proceed.
2. I found that the other threads in this topic had gotten very long and the only people posting there were people with questions, not the ones with answers. Since I had new information, I thought it would be justifiable to highlight the issue amongst the more knowledgeable...
Again, I am new to this forum and trying to abide by its rules to the best of my understanding. I appreciate you patience.
you can also download PB99IMG.zip recovery and put in root of sd-card.
when you hold volume down and power it will automaticly flash custom rom.
i would suggest 4ext recovery

DUDE SEARCH! This problem has been discussed many times , not sure if in gingerbread threads , but in xda overall.
You need to use VOLUME DOWN+POWER and on the menu select FASTBOOT. If you just boot to bootloader there will be <status malformed<1 bytes> If you open FASTBOOT on your phone , recovery will be successful.
