What is overheating in your experience. Overheating basically means a phone that forces shutdown or thermal throttles. That is gets hot is normal. Can you give me temps of the cpu, battery along with the frequency of the cpu.

May I know the surrounding temperatures? Is it under direct sunlight? What are you doing exactly when this happends?

Well should be completely fine. As long as it cools down when you don't use the phone.

what is the normal temperature for CPU & Battery while charging (AC) and not charging (while in usage, not idle)
while i charge (AC) my GNex my CPU temperature is 51°C ~ 54°C and my Battery temperature is 44°C ~ 46°C. is that normal?
and sometimes when i used my phone for listening music and chatting with whatsapp my CPU and battery temperature just like above 51°C and 44°C. and once i got my CPU temperature 60°C while charging
so my phone is a little beat warm in the back and front, is that normal guys? or that problem maybe comes from custom kernel or custom ROM?
btw thanks
youre normal.
If you know anything about computer's take a second and think about what would happen if you ran your computer without a fan or heatsink. Then be amazed your phone only gets "warm".
okay thanks for the answer guys
and just to make sure we can call the battery and CPU "hot" in what degree? thanks again

the cpu will shut itself down automagically at 110C. but way before that, your thermal throttle will kick in. the thermal throttle will lower your cpu speed to cool itself down.
the battery should usually be below 45C. it can get hotter especially when plugged in and doing something cpu or gpu intensive. the hottest ive gotten my battery is 120F(49-50C), and i dont recommend letting it get that hot.
120C?! That's 248F. And we'll above the boiling point of water. You absolutely sure about that?

just use it normally. if the cpu is too hot, your device will let you know. if you feel that the battery is too hot, unplug it from the usb, let it cool down.
thanks for your advice sir
I bought a Nexus 7 2013 refurbished 2 month ago. I noticed that when I play heavy games like World of tanks Blitz(everything max and shadow turned off) Modern combat 5, Nova 3 etc. My tablet gets very hot 80-95 celsius and like near burn my hands.Same on 4.4 stock and 6.0.1 stock,PureNexus with elemantalx kernel without oc. Is it normal or should I RMA it? Thanks for the answers. P.s :sorry for my bad english.

OK, get Antutu Benchmark, run the 15-min stress test, then in the app's info tab check battery's temperature. We'll compare it. Actually note the temperature before and after test.
Antutu measures only battery's temperature but for this test it is good enough, however do not recharge it during the test.

The tablet is not thermal throttling. If you have that turned off, turn it back on. I had it off on my lg g3 once and it hit 110°C while it was updating apps. Check the thermal tab in K.A

I'm using Elementalx kernel manager and It's default set to 80,85,92,102 °C. I downloaded K.A and I setted it to 70 °C so I check it now.

I setted the temp in K.A and after every boot says current value is not supported. I setted the temp in Elementalx kernel manager to 70,75,82,92 and always still go to 80 when playing.

Well first of all, you say that it gets too hot? Can you show us a screen shot of how 'hot' it is? It's quite normal that it heats that's just the way how electronics work.. What is your surrounding temperature?

CPU-Z is a good app. Also CPU float to monitor the CPU temp when you are gaming. 40 C is a quite hot surrounding temperature.. Its normal for smartphones to get that hot in such environment. Try to stay out of the sun...

Hi all. Recently days my G4 H815 601xxxxx decreases brightness(about 10%) itself while i play games or run many apps. Also i have a problem which when i play high demanding games, cpu reaches about 50-55 degree and it restarts itself. It is my second G4 (first died) and hadn't have these 2 problems. Are these alarm of ILAPO?
Brightness decreases to cool the phone and the CPU throttles to do the same. Keep in mind that the 2 big cores are always throttled to 960Mhz to avoid ILAPO which is not legal ?. Unfortunately the phone is not good at all on handling heat!

I dind't know that it decreases brightness to cool phone. Where you know that i reduces Mhz of big cores? If so, why still many g4s dies?

If you download Aida64 you will see ?
I think they do that even on "fixed" G4s to prevent it. Not that it's efficient enough

Send it to warranty as soon as is starts to restart, that is all. They will replace the motherboard and you are safe and sound for some time. Best to do it before the warranty time runs out for you.
Moreover, I also suffer from the display brightness decrease, but my problem is not due to heat - it happens even at night with phone completely cooled down. Anyone with the same issue?

hi,
sorry to jump into your discussion but I would be interested to know what app you use to check cpu.
Thanks and again sorry for the intrusion.

hello, you should check for battery temps, using apps like Devinfo, my CPU is fluctuative too but the battery usually under 40 con light gaming, and up to 46c when playing genshin impact
