Best Custom Rom - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

I'm currently using AICP but I would like to know if there's any more stable and working custom rom out there which I could flash and use.
Thanks

Yes!! U can try Resurrection Remix or AEX....Jaguar is also good but the flashing process is tricky...as a daily driver...consider the first two

I'm using Discovery, smooth, crazy battery's time, no heating issue, you may want to try this

AEX is the most stable and awesome rom in z2 try yourself

Thank you so much for your help. I'll try Aex ?

I have tried Viper, AICP & AEX. All three of'em are stable and perform smoothly, however you'll get slightly better customization in AEX

Which has the best battery life after the stock rom?

I have used Viper, AEX, HydrogenOS, Pure Nexus and Mokee. AEX and Pure Nexus are the best according to me and I got better battery life in Pure Nexus ROM.

Can you send link for pure Nexus rom

Thank you

Try AquariOS...Very Stable and smooth. i use it myself
Link : https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/development/rom-aquarios-t3634447

Don't go for Pure Nexus since the "maintainer" is only a guy who took some kernel from another dev and compiled the ROM.
He can't anything because he is no developer..
He is also insulting others and stuff like that, but read it yourself.
If you search for something stable you should give Jaguar a try, even if it seems complicated.
Stability of this ROM is what the DEV is aiming for.

Hello
I just got myself a used z2plus running on Lineage .
It seems to be okay. Yiu guys have any experience with this one?

Cosmic os
Bro try.......cosmic os.is best ever. Aex.....has heating ..prob and battery sucking....but its is user friendly

I need a rom which supports video cl through volte (jio sim) but no one is interested to fix this bug.

If u want stability with performance and battery friendly ROM... Go for AEX 24072017 build... very stable.. battery efficient and smooth... good benchmarks... Or u can try AOSGP rom... best screen on time i have ever seen on this rom... 9 hrs of SOT with gaming.... Flash jaguar kernel for extra sweetness ... good luck

Suggest a best nogut rom im not interested in customisation i need a stable and pure stock experience

Do you mean AOSIP?

What about Jaguar? I'm using AEX 5.2 and I'm happy with it, but I'm really curious about trying Jaguar.

[Q] most stable rom sense/non-sense?

Hey Everyone! please tell me which is the most stable sense and non sense rom??? Which rom and kernel combination is the best?? I have already checked out the similar threads but most of them are outdated so please help me out thanks
I can't speak for Sense ROMs but I've been running Chillybean's CM10 ROMs for the past few months -- only a few bugs with sound and reboots up until the most recent 20130929 build (CM10.2 / JB 4.3).

All of chillybeans's 4.3 roms that is cm10.2 beanstalk 4.3 don't have working gsm if you want gsm I would recommend Leoposas's Zoe Rom its cm10.1 and runs really great
I saw this thread on how to enable gsm on Verizon mobiles running up to 4.4 but I tired to use it on chillys PacRom 4.3....
I wonder if am doing it all right or does the rom have no gsm support at all
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2394689
well it really all depends if you like sense or if you like aosp or aokp. if you just want a good rom for daily basis id suggest a sense rom. if you're into customization then more than likely you're gonna want to go with aosp or aokp. but with you using gsm those roms are kinda iffy seeing as a lot of them for gsm use are still in the works. if you do want an aosp rom tho id suggest cm7 i do believe for most builds they do have gsm working or you can try the global roms made for gsm or that Zoe rom if you're wanting to be on jellybean. ive got cdma so my options arent as limited. hope this helps in some way.
You should all try Chillybean's fly-CM10.2 its really fast and smooth and has working gsm its 4.3
Yeah its a pretty cool rom. Still having a bit of problems in the cm source tho like with screenshots and torch but its definitely worth check out.
---------- Post added at 11:48 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:32 PM ----------
And the thing with the gsm patch even tho it says it will enable gsm on verizon cdma phones doesnt mean it will work on all devices and patches dont always fix the problem if its deeper upstream related. Hope this helps.
Downloaded and flashed chillys cm10.2 minus the screenshot problem, absence of nav bar, buggy status bar when using xposed tinted status bar....its an awesome smooth ROM, a nic bream from the constant reboots of the 4.2 ROMs.
Thanks for the info
I've tried all of Chilly's ROMs, and the most stable for me is 10.2 (4.2.2) Slim Bean. All of the others eventually slow down and require frequent reboots. At this point, I don't know if it's something in the rom, or the B-Team kernel, but I think I've settled into SlimBean with the "stock" Chilly-evervolv kernel. It's the fastest/snappiest, and hopefully stays that way.
The only thing I'm missing is the CM Voice+ app.
I'm not sure which post I found it in, but this stock rom minus most Verizon crud is called
6.01.605.05_VZW__OTA-stripped-odex.zip
It's stabled but not "new".

The fly one is modded fly is the name of the mod whereas the other is pure stock. Look up fly mod in the Android development section for details of the mod

What do you mean by the "stock" chilly-evervolv kernel? I've been searching for a bit and can't find it. I've had the same issue with the slowdowns and I'd like to give this one more shot before reverting back to the sense roms.

"Stock" in this case means the kernel that comes with Chilly's 10.2 slim bean, as opposed to a kernel like B-team that you have to download and flash separately.

should i update to new firmware

I have been running the final version CleanROM ACE since last year and it has been great for the most part. I do get random shutdowns and reboot nowadays once in awhile and not sure what is causing it. With all the new roms, stock 4.42, AOSP variants, is it worth the time to update? What I am missing out here?
ART worth the upgrade?
Stability?
Speed?
any new features. Miracast sucked on the Cleanrom from my experience.
How's Driver support for AOSP. I need the digitizer working.
I don't want to upgrade just for upgrade's sake. Anyone can share their experience?
Thanks:highfive:

I would the modem is better and kitkat is way smoother unless you are running an asop rom but art isn't that good yet I can't really tell if I have it on or not but try this rom im running it as we speak and I think you'll like it hes trying an updated version but just do an backup and try it

That rom I posted a link it has agni kernel built in and I can give you my settings for it to if you wanna try it out
just installed and it seems to be running fine. One question tho? what's the best way to manage app permission on 4.4.2?
one reason I stayed in clearrom is that I could install an App to stop unauthorized access to contact, sms and etc.

I am using RVR 's Resurrection Remix ® Lollipop v5.3.6 [Update 20150224] on Daily basis and this ROM according to me is only one that makes this device even worthy of using else this device lags forever....
In My opinion, Blisspop v1.6 is the best rom i've used so far, the only issue is that it only supports single sim, other than that, its the best updated rom so far

Blisspop v 2.0 works perfectly and you can enable dual sim safely.
Using it as a daily driver since V 1.9
I've used Blisspop till v1.6 and reverted back to stock.
Well maybe in v2.0 they added Dual sim functionality, thanks for updating my info

RichyE how does one enable dual sim for blisspop. This ron is good, but the one I flashed lacks dual some functionality.
I prefer RVR's resurrection remix. It's highly customizable as well as prevents my phone from lagging.
But while using BlissPop, the battery life was better.

I tried the resurrection but the last blisspop has more feauters and nice extra.
Add blocker
Camera that can safe directly to sd
Kernel/buildprop editor.
And more custom settings to change
Using it for a month and no lag and my Battery is at 34% with 48 hours and normal usage
Taking photo's, chat, make call etc

I guess it's time I tried back BlissPop.
But Ad blocker and Kernel/buildprop editor are available in Resurrection Remix too if I am not mistaken.
Blisspop is my favorite, but due to some bugs (screen too sensitive, and such...) I reverted back to Ressurection ROM. Then again, RR has a bigger battery drain. But it's more usable for me.

In my opinion the best roms : Resurrrextion remix lp, Blisspop rom and TouchWiz apocalypse. Thank you ☺

Cyanogen Mod 13.0 Unofficial (OFFICIAL)

Hello I was wondering if any of you guys can tell me why we don't have CM13 homemade here, or official one, what is needed for that?
Thanks!
We do have working RR and AOKP, so probably just a matter of time.
RR on Marshmallow? Because CM13 is on Marshmallow. I know AOKP we have, but it's buggy.
do you know how long is it to work CM13 on this device
---------- Post added at 07:09 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:24 AM ----------
it is possible to see this thread in the XDA app?
Yes RR MM - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=65426889&postcount=1003 In my experience AOKP isn't so much 'buggy', in the way of being unstable, but no mobile data. RR is same, and also I couldn't get Gapps working... All I was saying is that it seems we're on the road to CM13

smoothest and best custom rom for op3?

Hey all, I was just wondering in your opinions what your favorite custom roms and mods are for the oneplus 3. Do you guys prefer nougat roms or marshmallow? Etc.
Official, FreeDom.
Custom, 7.0 or 7.1, Citrus, Cypher.
Newest RR has been great.
I have tried BJRR,Orion,RR official,OOS,Jgcaap,Sultan XDA and out of all these ROMs I find sultan xda's ROM the smoothest, bug free and lag free rom.Just flash the rom, gapps,SuperSU, xposed don't flash any custom kernal, inbuilt kernal with default settings is serving me very good interms of battery and buttery smooth performance.

I agree, sultan is one of the best but i had the best result with exodus rom. Sultan rom is less smooth compared to exodus, imo.
Sultan cm13. Nothing smoother than that
Sultan's CM13 Build, stable and smooth. But there is more and more kernels for OOS, so you may just test that for a while.
Its Sultan XDA
Speaking about Nougat ROMs, for me the smoothest one is AOSiP.
Tried OOS, FreedomOS, LineageOS, RR (couple of different flavours), AICP, CosmicOS, and a couple others I don't remember.
Smoothest I've tried DU, AOSiP, Jgcaap LOS
Does any of these recommend ROMs have a good camera quality? Comparable to the original, OOS camera?

Smoothest with best battery backup? Render EAS + Zenith RR or Vertex OS. EAS does the finishing touch.

I used Zenith RR a couple of days and can definitely say that it is not as smooth AOSiP. When I talk about smoothness I mean stuttering during scroll and during animations.

Use Render kernal. Currently Zenith RR has not the most updated EAS. The lags you describe is the same as I had those are solved in later builds and I have to say it is smooth as butter while maintaining the battery of like Zhana.

Didn't try that, sorry.
I've tried every single Nougat ROM here, and I can confidently say that AOSiP is the smoothest.
I'm still at the last CM official snapshot, plus EX Kernel and OP3 Camera port. Everything is super-stable and I can't tell any feature that might be missing here, especially that I use many Xposed modules.
