So here is the story.
My phone is 3 months old. This weekend it got some mild water damage. I was able to get it back to 99% functional. The two water damage sensors (1 on battery and one under battery were tripped). I am running Juggernaut V4.1.
From what I can see the water got the sensors but was not really inside the phone.
Everything works perfectly. Calling, Wifi, screen EXCEPT when I plug it into the computer it does not get recognized. ie Windows has errors when trying to install the USB drivers.
I am not totally screwed as it is rooted, and I have Clockwork recovery. I suspect that as long as I do not need install anything using ODIN I will be fine but I am now not able to downgrade back to stock rom or transfer files via USB (kiers works fine).
So is there anyway to reinstall another custom rom to fix the USB issue? (Tried multiple cables and multiple computers with no luck).
Should I just keep is where it is at and be happy with Juggernaut V4.1?
Should I retry installing Juggernaut V4.1?
Do I have any options with sending it back for repair or getting TMobile to replace it under warranty?
Any help or thoughts is appreciated.
Do a google search for "removing android drivers" and completely remove them, then make sure the phone did not get set to "Charge Only" mode, on stock that is easy, not sure on jugs, download the drivers for your phone, unzip them, plug the phone in, IF it is not found autoMagicaly , direct windows to where you unzipped the drivers ...
IF that does not work, warranty time ... (oh try blowing out your usb port on the phone, and try a different cable)
EDIT: I read your post twice and still did not see the part about water damage .. LOL, yeah ummm no warranty ...
Do not warranty the device without replacing the water damage labels first. You should be able to find them on ebay.
They wont warranty a device with water damage.
I would try flashing a different rom and see if that works.

Thanks for the advice. Can't find the water damage labels anywhere BTW. Any link or help would be appreciated. Even if you want to PM me that would be great.
I did find a method to restore to stock firmware(or at least close) without ODIN for anyone that is interested.

Make sure you Odin or flash stock kernel first and then stock rom. If not you're gonna get stuck with the custom kernel images on boot up.
I have to do a replacement myself. My internal speaker is blown. How? I have no idea. I hope I don't get a bad phone with lines and stuff.

Just to make sure... when you plug in your phone... your computer doesn't detect the phone at all? like the connected sound or did you get an error "unable to install etc etc" something along those lines.
If there are any signs of it being detected
1. make sure you have the Samsung drivers installed (not kies)... its in one of the stickied threads
2. if you did install the correct driver but there was an error when plugging in the phone use USBDeview to remove all samsung and Android drivers... and do it again
And why don't you just use a microsd USB adapter or something to transfer files?
It actually makes the "ta da" sound when plugged in and instantly starts charging. I have the Samsung drivers installed on both computers that I have attempted to do it. Interesting that it used to work even on my Mac computer and show up with both the internal SD and micro SD card. I am only partially screwed as I have options that you mentioned about using Micro SD card reader to transfer custom roms. Anything that requires ODIN will be out of the question as I no longer have the ability to access ODIN because that can only be done with direct connection.
I am wondering if something is messed up with the rom as everything was working correctly a few days ago on the 19th but you would think that the USB drivers are deeply embedded in the firmware.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I will uninstall the Samsung drivers and give it another attempt.

Hello,
I just rooted my Samsung Galaxy S3 today. I copied several ROM zip files (i think there were 4) to my SD card to test out using MTP. As you may know, MTP (on Windows 7) is not the greatest experience. Since the copy was taking so long, I canceled it. I now know that when you do that MTP seems to leave the incomplete file there with the fill file size. I suspect the is the root of the issue.
I went to install the Omega v46.1 Jelly Bean 4.2.2 ROM after testing a different one that I was not happy with. Omega game up with its installer, everything seemed to work good. It asked to wipe the user data, and reboot the device. All looks good. I could not wait to try another ROM.
Blank screen.... waiting, waiting... Maybe they just have no boot logo.... waiting. Okay after waiting several hours for it to boot I thought maybe I would try to reboot and clear the user data and cache myself. Tried to reboot. Nothing happened. No vibration, no LED, not logo.
Cannot get into Download mode. Cannot get into Recovery.
Pull battery, wait. Put battery in while holding Volume key, Power button and Home. Nothing at all. Battery pull and waited a few hours. Tried again. Nothing. Panic starts.... I remembered the MTP file copy and checked the ROM zip files. Incomplete zip file.... Damn.
It is not easy to cover everything I have tried to fix it or all of the research I have done, but I'll try.
Researched bricked devices. Learned of hard vs soft. This does not appear to be soft to me, but why would my bootloader be damaged by installing this ROM?? I am new to this, but I think I understand the difference pretty good.
I spent the last few hours trying to find a micro USB cable that I could use to make a USB Jig. I did that using this guide and it did not help
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121306
And this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8822843
Researched the Jig more to make sure I got it right. Tested again with multimeter... It all looks good to me. Damn, it must be a real hard brick.
When I plug the phone into my PC without the battery in the phone I get a red LED.
When I plug it in with the battery in, I get no LED, no screen/logo, ect. Nothing. Windows does detect a device called "QHSUSB_DLOAD". I got the Qualcomm driver and QPTS hoping that there would be something that I could do... maybe backup my friend's bootrom and put it on my phone... The COM11 port from the device is not detected, so even if I could figure out a way to do what I said, I have no way to do it. Could be a Windows 7 unsigned drivers issue, but I have tried 3 different solutions to that without knowing how the device should look in Device Manager if the driver is accepted.
Looked for other solutions...

By Mr.X ''If you want to create your own dump from a friends device the command in a rooted adb shell would be as follows but not exact depending where you want the dump file to end up being on your sd cards. "dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/storage/sdcard1/debrick.bin bs=1024 count=81920" That is what I used my my co-workers CM 10.2 rom to get the 4.3 bootloader/debrick dump. NOTE: the device has to be rooted with a working busybox that supports the dd command''

Do you have an I747M? If you have the I747 that image won't work.
I just posted two 4.3 images to try in the debrick thread. This should probably be discussed there anyway just so all of the info is easy to find.

its i747m rogers bricked it by flashing 4.4.2 with mobile odin
Mobile odin cannot flash the full firmware, so you ended up with the 4.4.2 modem on 4.3 firmware which we know will brick.
You will need to use a debrick.img from another I747M, probably from another Rogers one specifically. Not sure if it'll work or not from another carrier.
Note that we have yet to get it working for any device that bricked by flashing the modem. Watch the debrick thread for updates.
Hello,
My htc one x screen is completely broken. I want to recover my data on my pc. When I plug it into my pc through usb, the computer only recognizes it as CD drive and charges my phone. On devices and printers option in control pannel it appears as android phone and when I try to browse it, it gives two option, one is CD and other one is removable disk, but removable disk is like blocked. I have tried several ways from the internet, but nothing seems to work out. I have also contacted HTC they only advised me to download HTC Sync Manager, but this as well does not recognize my device. I have also tried to use Kies, from a troubleshooter I found that I need Bluetooth Peripheral Device, which I was unable to find over the internet.
The phone had the pattern lock before the screen was broken.
If anyone of you have any information about how to get my data back, please help me out. I will highly appreciate your effort.
Thank you.
**pardon me if there's something wrong I am doing in this thread, as this is my very first post.

The phone had pattern lock when it broke down, so yes it is lock.
I do not understand what you meant by custom rom and recovery?
Did you unlock the bootloader and put on a custom recovery to flash different roms. Or is it full factory stock ?
I'm guessing it's not unlocked. Does the screen switch on at all so you can see the display? Or is it completely black when you try and switch it on?

yes it has a keypad lock. I am unable to see the screen, it is completely dark. I just can see the lights of the bottom keys when the phone is turned on or when I swipe my fingers continuously on the screen. It might be the digitizer and other screen layers that are broken completely from inside.
Do you have ADB debugging enable previously? If yes, you could use frame buffers to reflect the display on PC.

Unfortunately no, is there any way that I can do it to get my data recover. I've heard that in order to get the display on PC and then use it the device needs to be rooted. Since I am unable to connect through usb, I do not know if I am able to do adb thing.

Try switching your phone completely off then booting it up in recovery mode. Obviously you won't be able to see whats on the screen, but it might let you access your data on the SD card through your computer?
Are you still under warranty? If you're not rooted and havent enabled ADB debugging then that might be your best bet.

I don't believe the stock recovery supports mounting your phone as a USB device...can someone comment on this?
That being the case, and if the screen is blank and non-responsive, your PC does not recognize the device and does not mount it properly...I really cannot see how it will be possible to recover your data.
Sorry mate, I think you're out of luck.

Hello Jami,
Luckily, I got all of my data recovered after following another android phone. Basically, what I did was I turned on my phone, and tried to make the same pattern unlock that I had in order to make the phone work, every time I make the pattern, I go to the USB drive to make it disk drive, as far as I remember, and hope for it to work. I actually followed the steps to get there from another android device. By several trial and errors, I guess I was able to make the pattern unlock or something just happened that my phone got visible to my PC. If this doesn't work for you, try calling HTC if you have IMEI number of your device, they are helpful. They will also suggest to actually download HTC sync manager, try doing this as well. Another option for you maybe if you have another person owning the same device as yours, try removing the back cover of both of the phones, and basically switch the display chip, I do not know what do you call this chip but this is at the top right corner of the cellphone that connects the display to the circuit. So, you can just plug another similar device's chip there and you will be able to see the display of your cell phone, and you can easily get your data back from there.
I hope you will get all your data back soon!
Best regards,
Namra
I need some advice here since I don't know what else to do in order to get a S4 GT-I9190 UD un-bricked. For some reason, unknow to me, I promise I do nothing weird or touch it, my phone was working fine and from one moment to another just got restarted and never power on again.
I've found several post talking about flash stock ROM using Odin, others says there are some kind of unbrick.img file somewhere (I can't find for this model atm) and so others but none will works for me since phone doesn't power on so my question is: is the phone really dead? There is nothing I can do in order to get it back? Why the PC recognizes it as QHSUSB_DLOAD and some places says there is a way to get phone back? Can any give me some help on this?
Thanks in advace

Hi everyone,
I have the exact same problem on a S4 mini, GT-I9195. A few days ago, it shut down while playing a video and refused to restart. I thought it was the battery, so a few hours later i changed the battery ... it booted again, but came back to life just for a minute, before shutting down again. Since that moment, nothing i tried succeded. When the phone is plugged to a PC, the computer sees a Qualcomm Device connected (it uses the "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" v2.1.2.2 driver, to be precise), as reynierpm mentionned, but nothing else.
Do you think it could be worth a try to change the motherboard or another hardware piece ?
Thanks for reading !
i have the same problems, need a solution
i have same problem
Is there a way to recover data by switching a "memory chip" from a defective motherboard to a new one ?
i got the same issue with that S4 Mini
i found the tool "emmcdl" that it is supposed to dump the emmc into a file but when I try i got the error: Expecting SAHARA_END_TRANSFER but found: 0
i searched all of internet and maybe it could be the wrong programmer file (firehose) used within the tool
then i tried with other programmer files, like 8916, 8976, 8936... but i got always the same error
So:
- what is the right firehose programmer files for Samsung i9195 ??
- am i missing some other things related this "Sahara" ??
- is there another way to make a dump of emmc ??
I have samsung s4 mini that suddenly won't turn on. The phone was not rooted, neither had custom recovery installed or custom rom. It was working fine and one day suddenly won't turn on. If i connect it with usb cable to pc in device manager, under 'other devices' it's shown as QHSUSB_DLOAD.
Any idea what happened to the phone and can it be fixed?

sadly, welcome to the club, the emmc memory chip is probably dead, but if you are lucky it's just corrupted (thought it might just be your battery). If corrupted you can try botching it with a debrick file put onto a 16Gig or 32Gig & boat from that, refer to the hard debrick thread. You need one that matches your bootloader (BL) rev so either a debrick image from an android 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 ( BL v1 & BL v2 respectively).
You might have to try the whole procedure multiple times, some report, but it never worked for me.
A repair shop may also be able to flash new system if memory chip is OK.
Else you can order a new motherboard, but you may decide a new phone is better to spend your money on
Yes, i think new phone will be better solution.
Hi, i can say for sure that the mobile's eMMC memory is dead. I already had that problem with another S4 Mini, and that was the reason. There is no fix for that (unless you want to send it to replace that memory, and would be more expensive than buying a new motherboard for that device)
