Dear All,
Thanks to all in advance for taking out time to read this.
I am not sure is this right place to post this query but please help me if you have any idea on it.
My car comes with an audio system which has a 3.5 mm jack. I managed to place a permanent tab on my car for infotainment
Now am coming to the idea.
-- Is there any ROM which has the android auto host so that I can pair my mobile device to the tablet and use it as a head unit. (like the os which is used in the head units)
-- Is there any drive mode application which allows to configure one device as host and pair a second device and receive all notification via the host.
Thank You all
--
Best Regards
Kadssr.

Hello,
in a few weeks I'll get my new Ford car - equipped with the built-in bluetooth handsfree device. I tried to connect my MDA 3 to this device at several Ford dealers but didn't get any connection.
The MDA finds a "Ford Audio" but can't establish a connection.
Who has any ideas ?
Thanks in advance - Dieter
I have the same problem with a new mondeo...
Everything works with an old nokia 6630 (with a small nokia application I can browse the phonebook as well) but I'm not able to pair the bluetooth ford audio system with my HTC TyTN...
Any ideas?
try using a newer bluetooth stack.
What is a bluetooth 'stack' ?
And how do I change to a newer one?

As far as I know, you'll need to update the Radio portion of your device's ROM based software (the basic software that drives the device).
The best bet in your case I believe would be to just grab a new complete update for your device by searching the wiki for downloads for your device. Download a newer official ROM, install it and try again.
You will lose all saved data on the device though so back it up>
Wiki is here http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Did upgrading the bluetooth stack fix this connectivity issue to Ford Audio Bluetooth Handsfree devices?
Same problem. I've tried to upgrade bluetooth stack: my BA finds "Ford Audio" but doesn't connect. Please give us some help

after correct pairing (code 0000), press "Phone" on the caraudio system and then "Menu". After that press left or right joypad on the caraudio to set the "Active Phone". It will search and your phone will be correctly paired.
The last paired phone will be automatically active when you turn on the caraudio system next time.
In some cases will also help to install on the device the JETware application... just try.
Problem Solved!
Thank you dark horse, followed your advice and it worked just fine. I can now connect via bluetooh in my ford.

just wondering if anyone might have an idea on how i can get my Desire to connect to a nokia in car handsfree kit... which connects via bluetooth..
I assumed all bluetooth devices could talk to each other but when i turn my bluetooth on and press the button in car to search for devices it fails to locate my desire....
Anyone got a workaround or idea on any way to get it to work??
Cheers for any advice
p.s. its a new car i just got.. and it had the kit already fitted
i assume the lack of replys indicates im not getting this sorted ;0(
Surely its cant be the case i need to rip out a perfectly good bluetooth handsfree car kit (its wired all in throug the ceiling and behind the dash!) and have another installed every time i fancy a change of phone? thats rediculous ;(

Usually you use the phone to search for devices: Menu > Settings > Wireless & Networks > Check Bluetooth > Bluetooth Settings > Scan for Devices > Select your nokia device
Kit to find the phone, you will need to make the phone Discoverable: Follow the steps above, instead of Scan for Devices check Discoverable. But like I said before, use the phone to search for your car's handsfree kit.
As above make sure the phone is set to be visible and search for the nokia kit from the phone when the little led is flashing constantly (assuming it's one of those little button type nokia kits)
I had one working fine with my desire - from memory it could answer the call but couldnt hang up, was fine in call though.
Hi guys, I hope you can help.
I recently brought and installed A Pumpkin 10.1 unit (rk3188).
Ive managed to get Malaysk's custom rom installed but my issue is that i dont have steering wheel controls so i brought a satechi media button. (Because im a new user i cant post a link)
The thing is i can get the unit to find it but it will not connect to it. Could it be a bluetooth name limitation on the unit? is there a work around?
Thank you for your time guys.
Kris
I'm having the same issue... I think its temporal issue, I will update to 23 april rom...
Cool. Let me know how you get on.
The only BT devices that are supported are OBDII readers and Phones (for phonebook sharing, calls and media streaming). No other devices will work (media controllers, gamepads, etc).
That's a shame. I need to look at another work around. Thank you for the info
Is there any way around to connect to non OBDII devices via rooting and using xposed framework
I'm looking for a way for this to happen as well. Just purchased an iSimple remote for my Joying head unit. Lo-and-behold it doesn't work because... reasons? How hard is it for the programmers to allow a remote device use media controls while any other android unit will allow this?
I am trying to find a solution for switching launchers. I have a Galaxy S21+ running the One UI and Nova. I would like to be able to auto switch to Nova when my phone is connected to my radio in the car. The trigger for the switch, if I am able to find a way, would be either bluetooth connection to the radio or when the app AppRadio Unchained is activated. I am not rooted as I know that will make a difference. Can anyone help with suggestions or ideas? I have googled for hours and have found many looking to do something similar but have not found any real solutions.
Haven't heard anything about it, but good idea! Maybe check or ask over connected car section:

Hello,
I have an Android PX6 head unit in my Toyota 4Runner. I have a couple of questions I am hoping to get some guidance on around Zlink/Carplay:
1. I can only sync one device wirelessly or can I do multiple devices i.e. mine and my wife's?
2. If I can only do one device wirelessly, how do I disable wireless and use wired carplay so wife and I can use it depending on who is driving? I tried to disable wireless in the settings and it would persistently connect wirelessly to my phone.
Thanks in adavance
