Overall it's a very good phone. But it seems forgotten by Honor.

a flagship kinda of phone ruined by lack of updates.

its really nice phone.overall

But lack of updates made this bad..this must have received Nougat. Hardware wise it's super phone.

Looks good after the launch, but way depreciated now.

Users loved this phone but Huawei seems to never loved it.

Would you say that the OnePlus 3 is "fast" in day-to-day use? A higher rating indicates that you think the OnePlus 3 exhibits fantastic performance. Like, is it as fast as your tears when you watch The Titanic?

Everything opening fast and snappy, even from the cache. No issues with ram management in my case. Could be 3.1.2 fixed this issues for the most part.
Ummmmm...yeah. This phone is insanely fast!! My note 4 received 66~k reading. Lol.
Compared to the LG G4 I used before this is amazingly fast. Don't know if it's cos of the processor or the ram.
Blazingly Fast phone at an affordable price [emoji106]

Is it faster than the Nexus 6P? I just had to get rid of my 6P and the OP3 seems like a good upgrade

Yah, it is a little bit better performer. Overall I'm still uncertain if it's really much of an upgrade though. I haven't used it on a cell service yet nor have modded it yet. Each device is solid and I don't think you can go wrong with either.
Coming from 1+1, 1+x, moto x pure to 3. Definitely feels primo. Love the upgrade.

Just got the phone today and have been playing with it the past couple hours. In some ways not a big upgrade from my Moto X Pure, but as far as speed it's an absolute joy to use. Everything is extremely snappy and smooth.
Coming from a 4 years old SGS 3 and it is incredibly fast. But i guess that feeling is normal coming from that old phone.
This phone is a straight up BEAST!
Have been using the device since the 17th. I have only rebooted it a couple times while I was doing rooting/moding/bootloader unlock because it was required to do so. I have yet to notice a single dropped frame during any sort of task. I have had 0 crashes. My only issue has ram management, but that was quickly fixed with the ram fix for root users; now I can literally have all my installed apps opened and cached in memory. This phone flies.
Indeed fast. Love the swiftness.
Oneplus 3 is extremely fast and smooth like nexus on steroid. Even though the display is 1080p but it was a super AMOLED screen from Samsung and it look excellent for white color calibration. I even think the white color on one plus 3 look more like it was calibrate on galaxy s6 than nexus 6p. Nexus 6p white color calibration i did not like due to it contain yellow tin look on the display and not white white like Samsung galaxy or iPhone.
Way faster than my 2015 Moto X Pure. Obviously not the RAM difference as the OP3 isn't using all of it's RAM, aside from reviewer releases, this is perhaps a bit lacking for some. The 820 is a BEAST! I always wondered why in the recent past they(QC) decided to use the whole ARM Big/Little setup... This quad core is, at least seems to be, much faster than previous generation octacores. Not only in benchmarks but also everyday use. Granted I'm coming from a hexacore, an 808 I believe.
Just goes to show that often times these spec wars are kinda of joke. Why would an android handset need more than 4 cores? Seriously. Give me 2 - 4 that are fast and energy efficient. As much as many here hate Apple I have to throw them some props for their A9. Dual core with only 2Gb of RAM? Driving that display too? All the while scoring really well on performance and battery benchmarks! That is some really great software optimization and hardware engineering.
I may be kind of the odd guy out here but I really enjoy the latest iOS experience, its such a well integrated platform. I haven't owned an iPhone since the 4 or 4s(I think) but they have come a long way since then. Of course I always Jailbroke them whenever possible. The whole Phandroid/iSheep phenomenon is so odd to me. They're both excellent platforms with their own limitations, advantages and quirks. That groups of people literally come out and strongly bash and insult each other over their choice of a mobile phone is so crazy to me. I mean seriously people, you're gonna be Apple or Google's troll/"PR" person? How about everyone just uses what they like to use without this "mine is better than yours" mentality. Who are these people trying to convince? Themselves?
Having said that I've always wondered if I should just pony up a bit more cash for the flagship Nexus device. I've always been curious if it received the close attention to optimization of the software to the particular hardware it was running on. That's what has always made me, at the least, respect the iPhone. If it's done right there isn't all that much better than a thoroughly integrated software/hardware package!
Sorry for yet another rant but I just couldn't help myself....

im in the same boat im torn between the Nexus 6P and 1+3
i like the 6GB of ram on the 1+3 as i do abit of heavy multitasking, however the nexus has alittle better battery (i like my battery to last ages between charge)
i believe the 1+3 is a quad core whilst the 6p is a octa-core
still dont know which to get
The snapdragon 820 is far better than the 810. All the 810 do is throttle. This quad core destroy the 810. Just cause it's octa don't mean anything.

I can't speak highly enough of the OnePlus3. It's smooth. It just flies between apps and any other phone could only, at most, equal it really. Go with your heart
I feel it's faster than my s7e in every day use

I prefer to root my devices but OOS is very clean from bloatware.
feels very solid, keeps good in hand but require some kind of skin as it is but sliipy but not as htc 10 or iphone 7

Not to excited on oos but that's not why I got this phone. I got out for custom ROMs and I love rr on this phone makes it a masterpiece in my opinion.
Please check the default productivity apps for me:
- email (imap client)
- calendar / planner
- note taking app
I'm using Samsung s7 on Nougat patch and would like to have a few opinion on the difference of experience.
I'm planning to switch primarily for experience of stock android (google pixel is too expensive) and for software updates as Samsung tend to do a poor job on this one. I want to have the latest version of Android.
Thanks

I use Gmail for 2 Gmail accounts and 2 Yahoo accounts.
The stock calendar is Google calendar.
There is a memo widget in the swipe right screen on the stock launcher and all tiles are customizable. It's very handy.
The stock latest nougat version is super lean and nearly stock Android, no real bloatware. It's very fast and fluid, I think you will like it. The notification slider is very handy too, something that you didn't know you want until you have it.
The only thing I would like on the phone would be dual front facing speakers, other than that it's perfect for my liking. The slightly curved glass on edges feels great in hand but tempered glass screen protectors are a PITA to find one (only real one that covers whole screen and actually adheres to screen is the official curved tempered glass screen protector).
Keep in mind too the screen is only 1080p, it is a Samsung amoled panel, but you are losing some pixel density from the S7. But it is as good as a 1080p screen gets, and saves power.
What about its stock email client? I use Samsung's default email client for around 7 mailboxes via IMAP and it works very nicely as subtle details like gestures for drag to move contacts from TO to CC is very useful for me, as well as built in text formatting. Handling attachments is very easy as well.

I don't recall if I uninstalled it or it didn't have one, all I have is Gmail on mine. Hopefully someone else can comment.
I went through first thing and removed or disabled all the apps I don't use. Sry.
Come to think of it, I can download 3rd party apps anyways, glad that I'm seeing I'm making the right choice. I'm hoping to get this phone instead of Oneplus 5 due to budget constraints. Thanks for your input.

They seem to be very good. Check out the general forum. It was one of the first phones with nougat 7.0, it's on 7.1.1 now, and even have a beta program for newest versions. There was an update within the last few days also.
Now whether it will keep up after the new OnePlus phone comes out is in question.
The custom ROM scene will probably keep it updated for years to come though. Even the OnePlus one has perfect custom ROMs on the latest Android and are updates all the time. But you have to be willing to flash a recovery and ROM.
Got it, thanks!

Oneplus is pretty good
I'd say my expectations has been concurred. The Oneplus latest phone is both amazing in screen quality and performance. It makes and overall remarkable speed and quality and not to mention its camera. I bet the new Oneplus has some even better specs to bring os.
It's too early saying that OnePlus is good with Updates. OnePlus 2 it's abandoned, OP1 was a total failure (due to CM) and never got updated with OOS. OPX? They forgot about it (neither security patches). What i think? It's the best smartphone for price/specs. Yeah it's supported right now but when the new OP will come out our 3T will die. Hopefully Modding is our solution
The OnePlus One has 7.1.1 roms that are perfect (ala RR and others), so I would guess devs will keep us up to date for some time. Unlocking bootloader and flashing are easy on OnePlus phones.

One plus one was debacle due to cm thingy, and op2 had it'd own problems of SOC and all. Op3 came out to be perfect, and that's why they are going overboard for the updates for this phone.
And this will be supported for quite some time.

My OP3T is very late on security patches, which is quite surprising and disappointing.

I have no cons about performance. It always been smooth and never lagged. SD625 seems perfect for me: fast enough, battery friendly and doesn't heat.
Good overall performance for sd625.. no lag + no heat= heaven
I have got oryginal software and updating in time. Last few months were not good for me on this phone. Slow down dramatically, sometimes lag without reason and many times I wanted crack this device on my knee because ultra lag. Reset to factory state didn't help.
I decided not buy Huawei device anymore in my life, because I don't want change phone after 1 year use.
At beginning phone work perfectly, now it's a trash. I bought The Xiaomi Mi A2 with 6gb ram and Android One project and I feel relaxed, everything works fine, smooth and I believe it will not get worse through 2 years. I know in my Huawei Nova it's also possible, because many phones still coming out with snap 625 without any problem. Xiaomi Mi A1 still works great.
I feel like Huawei want to force me to change for new their device...

The worst is when I got lag when 2GB of ram is free and no apps are running...

Overall love

Yes, yes, it's possible to love a phone. Heck, you sleep next to it, don't you? Rate this thread to indicate your love for the Samsung Galaxy S8+, all things considered. A higher rating indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S8+ is an incredible phone that you enjoy tremendously. You love it.

Best phone I've ever owned!
Massive, gorgeous display. Faster than my nemesis' I7. Still need tweaks for battery life, but the trade off in performance and consumer joy is worth it.
The S8+ is the best phone I ever had so far, and the battery life is excellent.
I only have two minor issues with my S8+.
1) The speaker is too easy to mistakenly cover while gaming or watch video.
2) Sometimes on the Camera, there is a slight delay between the time you press the record button and when it starts recording, ONLY when you have it set to 4K UHD recording.
Other than that, everything else is flawless for me.
I had the Verizon Galaxy S8 from the day it was released. I really like that phone. I just purchased a refurbished Unlocked S8+ from Bestbuy for $500 because I wanted to see the difference in size and battery life. I'm so happy I took a shot on the bigger brother of the galaxies.
Battery life is better than expected and the overall size is not that different to hold. However when looking at the screen real estate the S8+ is huge and that's what I love about it. With this version I know the drawback may be reasonably timed updates, but if I decide to leave Verizon with all the T-Mobile changes, I can do it an not have to invest in a phone.

One Of the best mobile ever
I wanna to buy this mobile, Am so interested in this mobile to buy.
Gotta say, coming from mostly Note devices, this has to be the best phone I've ever used and owned. It's only been a couple of weeks but it's already left a big impression on me. Not only that, this is the fist phone that I've used in its stock state. No root (of course our SD doesn't have it yet, anyway) but I'm not really missing it or my S-Pen. Most of the functions my S-Pen were able to perform I can do on this phone which was a pleasant surprise. I still miss interacting with the display with the pen, though. I may move onto the Note 8 at the end of the year but right now I'm very happy with this S8 Plus.
So a quick info on my background. I have owned many Smartphones in the last 5 years, form pretty much all major brands(Samsung, Apple, Sony, Motorola). I also consider myself a Poweruser.
So this is my third Galaxy device and the first I was very happy with the S8+ for the first few weeks but I stumbled upping more and more negatives about the phone.
1. After a few hours of uptime it will start to stutter when typing fast or switching between apps.
2. The over the top animations get annoying, but if you turn them off it feels weed and even slower.
3. Battery life seems good when watching videos that are supported by the hardware decoder but most hdr stuff is not no I could not even watch The Revenant on one charge and during that the device got very warm and I encountered a few dropped frames.
4. Idle battery life is very bad (loosing 30% during the night about 7-8h) but this applies pretty much to all Android phone.
Overall it's still an amazing phone but as everything it has its downsides.

I have never used a cell phone with the features which I am using in Samsung S8

Nice , you are right ,
One last quick update.
Been reading through all the posts and replies on the latest root updates for the Snapdragon variants and after about a month now on this completely stock S8+ I can't see any practical reasons to go through the grind that is today's root method. It certainly isn't like it used to be as a long-time Samsung rooting fiend and now it just seems far more trouble than it's worth. This out of the box state is simply outstanding. Obviously, your experiences may vary but based on my user habits, and I run the hell outta my daily driver, it's been performing brilliantly with no issues. BixBye let's me remap that idiotic button without root so I'm good on that end which was the only real reason I was even contemplated rooting when it became available for this version.
I truly believe at this stage in Android and Samsung's combined software and hardware development on the S8+ things have finally matured enough where I'm not feeling that burning desire to root. Sure, there's a couple of apps here and there that I will miss having but I still have that Exynos Note 5 to kick around.
Fantastic phone. I will be considering getting the Note 8 but only because of that S-Pen. This S8+ is an amazing daily driver if and when I do make the switch.
The best phone on the market to date! Not only does the phone have excellent performance, but it's just a beautifully crafted device. I'd say the phone itself is..... art.

i'm on the note 4 just and was wondering about screen width,do you lose much on the s8+ compared to note 4?
There are a lot of "best phone I've ever owned" on here. I hate to be that girl, but... I agree. I love the features at the software level such as being able to make all apps full screen. I also love the phone in general from a design perspective. The display and battery are both amazing.
Great buy and experience, even in stock state
The S8+ is the best phone
You must buy the s8+ if yo dont use too much the pencil.
I got to not use it but i miss it
It's an awful phone. Unfortunately. The four things that save the situation are the following.
1. The screen is simply beautiful.
2. The camera is wonderful
3. I didn't pay it
4. The Google pixel 2 XL will be ridiculously expensive here in Greece.
The bad things are:
1. Huge battery drain. I had the last Nexus that was awful and I found it's brother. Some times I have to charge it twice a day. I use Android since 2010 and I don't make experiments. I use the same applications for years so I have a very solid knowledge of what to expect.
2. Lag. I don't know why but I have. I use the unbranded Greek version. I always install the new versions with Odin. With full format. I do the same with the Nexus and and my iPhone. In the latter two everything works so smoothly and I usually don't make the upgrades in time since I am bored for the setup. But now no no no. I have done 3 formats. One the day I bought it to unbrand it, the second in August when the latest version appeard and another one last Monday. The same. Unacceptable lag. Not that it's like a 3 year phone but it shouldn't happen.
Definetly one of the best devices Samsung had made. A true upgrade in all areas from the S7. Improvements in efficiency as well as the addition of Bixby and "infinity" put the S8+ it a clear cut above the V20, G6, and Moto G5.
