XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project and Code Aurora Forum releases.
What is XOS?
halogenOS, also known as XOS is a new Android ROM which ships with the global aim to
become a modular ROM which keeps as high as potentially possible operating
performance on your mobile device while still maintaining a sufficient feature
base of nice, small and minimal features that would not be available via any
external feature base, extension, mod or plugin.
We hope you have a truly halogenified experience!
Internals of XOS
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Code Aurora Forum (CAF),
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project and all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
We will be keen on ensuring that we be up to date with the code from our base sources,
with regular ROM updates hopefully coming from time to time.
Please do not ask for ETA's (else you shall be spooked by Mr Skeltal). Almost all of us are
students, and with the current lifestyles and routines we have, it is not that easy to acquire
time to develop the ROM, though we'll be sure to keep you updated and release OTAs as
soon as they are available and ready for publication. If you want to be really updated quick,
then join us on Telegram: http://telegram.me/halogenos
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
http://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Backing up your [I]Internal Storage[/I] is also recommended.
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build!
Although you usually may dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
You can dirty flash halogenOS 7 (Nougat) over halogenOS 6 (Marshmallow)
without any problems. Although we cannot promise that it will work for you,
although we don't recommend it, we can tell you that this has been tested.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Notes
1] VoLTE works? Heck yeah yep.
2] WiFi works without bootloop wagera? Haan bhai it works.
3] Why no 7.2.x/new feature/5g support? We are sane developers that believe in keeping things slow and steady. We have college just like you. If you can help us in our academics lol, maybe we'd implement it. But we are always open to new ideas.
4] Bugs? Report them over Telegram or on the thread. Better if you Telegram. We are online 24/7.
5] Problems? We have a vast community over Telegram. You might want to ask there and get your answers asap. Links are mentioned above.
6] ROM has OTA updater and will give you a notification when a new build is come. We have a release schedule which we follow sincerely. Release builds are done only on alternate Saturdays two times a month, unless a major fix has to be implemented. If you do not get a notification, you can manually update the ROM.
7] Wanna contribute by becoming a beta tester? Know what are logs? Know to take a sysdump and what is console-ramoops? Join our group over Telegram. And pm me. I'll let you know after knowing your potential!
8] Mirror? Mirror!

Huge shoutout to our beta testers for helping me in getting this tested thoroughly! Specially @tywinlannister7 who was ever ready to test out the builds when they were bootlooping initially and during wifi **** lol!
Well here we go
I think im a beta tester too! Nice ROM, but i cant turn off battery led and can not find an option to disable it :c
Anyways, still testing. Good work!
Lovely Rom, nice and smooth and stable too. It did report my sandisk SD card as being corrupt though. If anyone else gets this don't automatically let it format or repair as the chances are it's not corrupt at all.
Screens please!

It did the same thing with mine. And attempting to repair the filesystem within recovery or by putting it in a computer to run fsck didn't work.
Is this ROM / included kernel supposed to have exFAT support?
Confirmed on Transcend microSD 128gb card also--"corrupted"

Regarding the corrupt SD card issue for some. I've just reverted back to stock for a while and the card is actually working fine. So I'd recommend backing up the contents before installing halogenOS
I'm not having the sd card issues but I am having fm radio problem, but no biggie to me...no bootloops...solid build for sure.
Good!?
Could you add the color calibration option please
Awesome ROM, quite stable and smooth
After flashing this rom, the camera does not seem to work...

Welcome to VanirAOSP.
Our mission is to deliver a clean optimized version of Android to as many devices as possible. This is not a kang rom. You will find versions of the features you love that we've rewritten and improved on plus a few we wrote ourselves. we've tried to acheive a more organized and cohesive setup to improve the user experience while correcting any performance regressions and improving functionality.
If you're the kind of person that needs options to change the font and color on every letter and expect the ROM to end up looking like kid's cereal box then GTFO. You will not find customizations that are done just because someone figured out how to do them. Everything in here has a purpose and is held to a high standard of coding.
General features:
stock mode - ability revert to stock AOSP code with the exception of a few custom features we chose to keep active
enhanced performance.. longer uptime with less slowdown
custom written CRON and init.d.
minor UI and graphics improvements
custom navbar, navring, and hardware key features
active notifications (improved active display + lockscreen notifications)
usability improvements like power reboot menu and sound
animation control
Improved Vanir keyboard
CM's profiles & quicksettings
additional quicksetting tiles
immersive desktop <- fully configurable immersive mode
low profile mode
statusbar mods
clock & battery mods

Tried the February 6 official build, seems great. But seems to be lacking a few features, e.g. an ability to display the date in the status bar. Other than that, it's been a smooth ride so far.
Just a question, is it possible to flash an unofficial build over an official build, or an official build over an unofficial build when updating?

Running the unofficial February 7 build, very nice. Buttery smooth performance. Not sure why this thread is going unnoticed.
Bugs:
1. The keyboard randomly stops accepting input, but starts working fine again after locking and unlocking the phone. Happens a few times every day.
2. Proximity sensor does not turn off screen during calls.
3. Sometimes the person on the other end can't hear me when I make an outgoing call, but it seems to work fine when I call them again.
Feature Requests:
1. Colour calibration options in kernel
2. Option to display date in status bar
3. Dark Material theme

Could you please add screen controls from this link to your kernel :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/dev-kcal-advanced-color-control-t3032080
It enables saturation, contrast and gamma controls and other advanced things such as grayscale mode.
Kindly implement it in your rom/kernel ASAP ! I was really looking forward to this feature !

very clean rom and smooth but i cant change the name of the main user, and voice unlock doest work in smart lock and although i activate weather in status bar its doesnt appear
I agree ... its a very clean, smooth and stable ROM. I'm amazed how good this ROM work on my I9505. No problems so far for me.
What i don't like on the first view is that this ROM contains apps like
MoKeeMarket.apk
com.baidu.browser.apps.apk
MoKeeServices.apk
MoKeePay.apk
In case of security concerns ... here is an statement in official MoKee FAQ
Code:
[B]Q:[/B] Why are there so many Chinese apps? Will they steal my personal data?
[B]A:[/B] Well the Chinese apps are targeted at the China users as the ROM was based in China, it's useful to them
(think of MIUI, but has vanilla Android looks+open source+maintained by freelancers (MIUI is a company,
we are not though, we do this for free))...:D...We have no intention to steal your data, but if you still feel insecure,
you can uninstall most of them, or use Privacy Guard/disable them in Settings->Apps
(the same as freezing them with Titanium Backup, or even delete them from /system/app.

The size of the rom is irrelevant when its currently downloading at 30/50kbs >< and then always manages to cut off downloading half way through.
It seems that is a problem with your connection !
For me speed is fast and no interrupts.
If you want some mirrors why dont you host one
Now back to topic .....
First of all an exceptionally helpful comment from the dev their. In order to host the file I would have needed to download it first. Considering all I did was mention the download speed was slow, nothing insulting or whiney in there, you guys seems to have misinterpreted my intention for mentioning speed, such is life on the internet.
after about 40 minutes of making sure there were no interruptions the download got there in the end.
Anyway, the rom is running great so far. Fast and smooth, no errors as yet. No fc's. Battery seems pretty good too.
I'd be happy to provide mega link once I'm home and on my PC.
Cheers.

Don't worry my friend. I am a satified user as well. I love Mokee roms. May be you can point me to the person I should ask permission to post the T-mobile s4 version here as my s4 is jfltetmo.
... after a few days of testing the release version of MoKee ROM i have to say that i'm impressed.
Totally stable, very good performance and battery friendly. In comparision with nightly versions of MoKee running xposed i come to the conclusion
that there is no real benefit of using moduls like Greenify, Amplify etc.
This is one of the best if not the BEST ROM i have ever used on my I9505. Now i dont feel the urge to update the ROM every day
So this ROM esp. the release version is fully recommended.
Good job MoKee team :good:

... after a few days of testing the release version of MoKee ROM i have to say that i'm impressed.

* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you.
*
*/
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. Your changelog is whatever was merged into gerrit.
Requirements
* You must read this post completely
* You must have flashed a stock MM update to update the firmware to a version that is compatible with these builds. Search XDA for the best way to do so for your device.
* You must use the search first and make sure your question has not been answered yet!
* Do NOT ask for the availability of features or if any specific app works - we implement / announce new features when we want to
* Use the latest TWRP available (3.0.2.0), else expect issues
* If you have a problem, do not ask if someone else has it. Post with logs or don't post at all!
Code:

Stock Firmware B360 and B370 are known to cause bootloops!
(Generally: if your stock ROM supports VoLTE it is likely that it is also affected!)
All others might work, please do not ask in here how to up- or downgrade!
Known Issues / NOT working / "Bugs"
* Search the thread!
* Anything running VoLTE firmware
* You tell me! (See "Other Issues")
Everything else WORKS, do NOT ask if anything (feature, function, ...) specific is working or not (Search the thread if you want to make sure and if you don't find it: test it yourself)
Other Issues?
Before posting on this thread, make sure of a few things:
You've utilized the search function of the forums. Nothing irritates us more than lazy people who do not search for an answer before asking or ask the same question over and over again.
If you are the only one having a problem: boot into recovery, wipe data/factory reset, reflash the rom/gapps and nothing else. Boot up and see if the problem persists.
LOGS LOGS LOGS!!!!
Press BOTH volume keys + power key - it will vibrate very short. Wait until a notification appears that the bugreport is ready, send it to your mail and post it.
Alternatively go to dev options (press "build number" in "About phone" 7 times to activate it), activate the switch "Shortcut for bugreport", then go to Settings->Keys->Power key and activate it there as well. Long press power-key and then use the new menu item.
Only if rooted:
Use this: SysLog by Tortel
If you have a hard reboot (to the vendor boot logo, not the LineageOS boot logo), use adb or any other file explorer tool to pull a copy of "console-ramoops" after the reboot and provide that.
Code:
adb pull /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
Note: We will not support any kind of modification on the ROM not done by our sources. If you are running XPosed, Kernel Booster or whatever occurs to you, we won't support you in any way. The problem will in every case be treated as the additional softwares' fault (because often it is!)

Again: if you need Google-Apps, install them after flashing the ROM and BEFORE the first reboot
ROM:
Official download site
Google apps addon:
(Note: Not required to run the ROM)
We are using Open GApps (Link) Arm64 version. (make sure to use 64bit when using other packages), others might also be working
Note: In case you want to use any gapps, YOU MUST install the right gapps the first time that you flash a marshmallow ROM. Do not boot with an older gapps or without one and then try to install it later.
Note: If you install a package which replaces the default dialer (mostly "Stock Gapps") you have to go to Settings->Apps->Gear-Icon and set the new dialer as a default telephony app to prevent force closing of apps
Root addon:
Official download site - our device is ARM64
Don't use SuperSU or other tools, otherwise expect bootloops!
Coming from unofficial 14.1 or CM13?
When you already had an unofficial (pre-official) build installed (or are about to upgrade from CM13 the first time), feel free to install the " experimental" build. As we have tightened security, this build is meant to preserve your data during migration. After you have booted it once, please install the next official nightly to complete the procedure (and get rid of the watermark). Please note that this might fail so always take a backup first!
For more info visit this LINK
Update: The experimental builds are gone, you have to clean flash (full wipe) to install LineageOS

This is a development thread. This means it is NOT your personal support thread.

* Reboot to recovery
* Do a Backup of Boot, System, Data (optional but recommended)
* Choose Install and select the zip of LineageOS 14.1 and read next step before proceeding

So it begins... going to test this over the weekend
Thanks OP. Have been running it since this morning and it's smooth. I installed both "previous" versions (the 498MB one still with CM and the first 496MB one).
Awesome! Now i'll just wait for the fingerprint, camera and network to be fixed!

You don't want to be running something that was randomly sitting on my download server earlier today. If your build date is before 3pm est then please download and install what is there now.
Earlier builds had problems.
Would be nice to have the expanded desktop version per app to in the next udate . Expanded desktop works fine but only if i turn it on for everything.
Cant choose it per app yet!

General LineageOS issue, not only on our device. (Have reported it)
Please note that requesting something for any update (especially the "next") is not required, we priorize our work items without that
Awesome. This is really a nice year ender announcement for our device. Don't have time to test though. But will definitely flash once the few bugs are fixed.
Sent from my honor 5X using XDA Labs
Flashed it a few hours ago, everything works great (except the things pointed out in the OP). Thank you so much to @crpalmer and @BadDaemon for bringing Nougat goodness to our device. The amazing devs for this phone have made the US$180 I paid sooo worth it
About the fingerprint sensor, is it a safe guess that unless Huawei releases Nougat for our device, the fingerprint sensor won't work? Or is it something else?

At this point all that is safe to assume is that it doesn't work and neither BadDaemon nor I have had a chance to investigate why.
Downloading right now to test. You are the best !!!!
Edit. Installed following the instructions from 1#post (ROM boot, setup. Then gapps and wipes) gapps working perfect. I dont go back to MM for now

XOS is a new generation Android-based cutting-edge OS based on the Android Open Source Project
At core, the ROM is composed mainly of components from the
Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and small parts from Code Aurora Forum (CAF) necessary,
with extremely minor set of components from LineageOS (LaOS or LN) which
have been added to source in order to allow for better cross-device compatibility.
Our LOVE to others
A huge thanks goes to those behind the AOSP and CAF, the LineageOS Project, AOSiP and many others including all of its
contributors for the sources used in the development of the base ROM which we
started with inclusive of all the work and dedication their team puts in order to
keep us updated on the awesome contributions that they make.
Visit our website for features such as: Downloads, Information etc.
https://halogenos.org
Although no data should be lost or damaged by the flashing process,
we advise you to follow the following steps if you are coming from another ROM:
Code:
* Please take a full [I]Nandroid[/I] backup!
* Please copy your back up to an external device.
* Back up your [I]Internal Storage[/I]
* When completed, [I]clean flash[/I] the build (format using fastboot --wipe-and-use-fbe if your device supports FBE)
Although you usually can dirty flash halogenOS over other ROMs, considering the other
ROM is built upon the same Android version, it is not guaranteed to work.
In case of performance issues or crashes please do a clean flash.
Overall as a ROM, XOS is very stable. Our mission statement has always been of maintaining a clean and properly maintained ROM.
We take proper priority with ensuring that performance and stability are put first, features are considered an extra topping on the cake.

Installing for the first time
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (We recommend TWRP)
* Wipe [B]'/system' & '/cache'[/B], [B][U]FORMAT[/U] /data preferably using fastboot --wipe-and-use-fbe (You will lose all your data incl. internal storage)[/B].
[I](Optional: For `Dirty Flash`, do not wipe [b]anything[/b])[/I]
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Want Google Apps? Obtain and flash the latest GApps from http://opengapps.org/
* Flash any other system modifications you may want
* Reboot.
Manually updating the ROM
XOS ships with an OTA updater built-in (soon) which should automate the downloading and flashing process,
however should your wish be to manually update the ROM, you should be our guest.
Code:
* Download the current version of XOS for your device.
* Reboot into a compatible Android Recovery solution. (Note: We recommend TWRP)
* [b]Please do not[/b] wipe anything, including Cache/Dalvik/ART, the ROM has you covered.
* Select the appropriate ROM zip and flash the current ROM build.
* Reflash any system modifications that do not survive updated (everything that is not addon.d-capable)
* Reboot.
You do not need to wipe Cache/Dalvik.
You do not need to flash Google Apps again*.
You do not need more than 5 minutes.
* Just make sure that you don't wipe system before flashing.
Tested compatibility
Although following things are compatible with halogenOS, we do not provide direct support for it.
Compatible additions are:
ViPER4Android
JamesDSP
Magisk
microG
GApps

Also I must add that, although it looked like the Oneplus5 camera, the portrait option was missing

Instructions:
Take a backup first from your actual system!
Before instaling, make sure you are running the latest Oreo firmware from the latest HTC Sense.
If you are encrypted but running an AOSP ROM then you're fine. If you come from Sense, take a full backup of all your data, boot into TWRP and format data (the option which requires you to type "yes") and clean flash accordingly. This is due to encryption changes. Do not skip this step or you will be locked out of your system by a password prompt.
If you are coming from any other ROM wiping /system & /data is strongly recommended
Download the latest build and GApps (both links are below).
Reboot to TWRP.
Flash the latest build and magisk ( optional ) after make one reboot.
When system is booted, reboot to TWRP and flash gapps
Reboot and enjoy (as much as currently possible)

Known Issues:

SlowMo
SeLinux permissive ( will be fixed when the bugs are fixed )
Reporting bugs:
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred (please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing).
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg (do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot, a logcat after a reboot is useless).
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

Maybe it's better to perfect past ROM's before tackling new ones? They have a lot of problems and things that require improvement, and you again strive to quickly port an actual android with new problems and bugs. Brilliant.

What are the problems you have discovered so far on this lineage 18 port? I believe if you have found any it will be fixed in the next build, This rom is too stable to be a beta rom because I'm using it as my daily driver. Without the likes of fagyi we would have still be on stock oreo.

If you feel inspired in development, I welcome your help in it. I will spend several hours making the latest version available. I have limitations for me too, because it requires a lot of knowledge, but I try to provide the best for us.
What is the many bugs in previous versions? Pls list of that on LOS 17.1 thread or Pixelexperience ( logcat & dmesg would be nice with bugs ).
The lot of problems which you mentoined I feel an exaggeration.

Maybe it's better to perfect past ROM's before tackling new ones? They have a lot of problems and things that require improvement, and you again strive to quickly port an actual android with new problems and bugs. Brilliant.

To be sincere @fagyi I'm very happy that you owned this our HTC 10 device, at least we will expect more major update like android 12/13, on this old device. Coming from device that has no community support like galaxy s6 g920p every owner had no choice than to use stock base nougat roms but here is a different story, we have the likes of Fagyi who is working tirelessly to make sure that this device get updated more faster than those popular devices, I think we should be grateful to him.
Rom passed safety net by enabling magisk hide in magisk modue
Can someone recommend a Gcam that will work with this lineage 18.0 because I have tried so many Gcam mod out there but not good

I am experiencing 'very weak wifi' even when I stand very near to the router I don't get full signal, in this build
