Im looking for a real lightweight rom for generic usage, only taking photos and making a call, browsing, etc.
Whats the better choice? Slim or Lineage?

Personal opinion, Slim.
It's much more lean than Lineage OS. But I believe Slim uses Lineage OS Kernel.

The archived size of Lineage rom is smaller than Slimrom.
I prefer Tesla

Cm14 still has some issues like echo in speaker calls, messenger calls, etc...if you can live with them, try it
Well what do you want? What is important? Gotta say that OxygenOS has been fine for me.
For me is too early to use CM14, I prefer to stay with Resurrection Remix - especially BlackJubel mod and Xposed - it is based on CM13 and pretty stable. The best ROM with lot of options for me.
Most stable ROM with some very custom features and great battery life can be found here. OxygenOS is not bad at all, if you like the stock Android feel.

How is the camera compared to the stock one?
Most stable imo is defenately 3.2.7. Also can't beat stock cam quality and speed.
Hi all,
Yes, we all know. Every month somebody is answer this question.
But also every week/month there is a new rom, custom build etc. etc.
So my question friends.
With rom is stable, smooth and bat. friendly?
Or what do you guys have? Thanks
RR Official + ElementalX + AKT
or ExperienceOS + Xceed
Pheonix aex is the best so far for me

Freedom OS 2.8, bluspark kernel. wih 4g heavy usage, giving me 4-5hrs SOT constantly. and in wifi/light usage , 7-8hrs SOT always. Loving the current setup.
Pheonix AEX by itself... has a great kernel and easily gotten 9+ SoT in the last two battery cycles. Has all the customization you'll ever need built in and has the best OOS camera port. Just give it a try, it wont disappoint.

VertexOS! Is has Voxpopuli and EAS. It's simple and runs really really smooth... One of the Smoothest roms out there with decent battery life!
Phoenix AEX
Phoenix AEX probably

I'm running the unofficial Pure Nexus ROM with its included Sultan kernel. It's good in my opinion.
Use unofficial Pure Nexus ROM with its included Sultan kernel. It's good ROm, stable ,bat. friendly
Thanks guys. I will try Vertex Now, I have EAX Phoenix, but it's a bit laggy...
I gonna try Pure Nexus when it's stable enough. (I see posts about lags).

Well, reduced small cluster max freq by one step. Rest all as it is. Agressive doze is OFF. Somehow feels that keeping it ON drains more. /Contradicting/
Tried naptime initially, but with and without it, the duration is more or less the same.
I am also looking for a great ROM.
Is official Resurrection Remix the "best"? It has all features of the other ROMs?? Good battery life and stable??
Official kernel?
Or are there better ROMs or kernels and if yes, which are the advantages?

I personally don't know, why to use a Oxygen OS based ROM? I think, it has no features and not much customization and nothing great? Or am I wrong?
xXx no limits rom with bluspark kernel is a beast. Camera is my priority especially video recording and no other rom could suffice that. Very stable ofcourse.
Rom has inbuilt performance tweaks and is super snappy. Ofcouse I tried plenty other roms especially for camera, sulan's rom phoenix aex rom and many more , they manage to take good photos almost as good as OOS but none of them could match video recording smoothness of OOS especially in 1080p 60fps. Tried and tested a lot. And with my usage I easily get around 6 to 7 hours of sot with excellent performance.

But Oxygen OS based ROMs don't have many features, I suppose.
I am trying Resurrection Remix at the moment and it seems to be excellent.:good::good:
I don't have time to test every single rom so I want to ask the people on here what they think is the most stable rom. I don't really care about features I just wanna know which one has the best battery life, less bugs etc.

Yes stock was ok but I am asking for the custom ROMs
I settled on SAOSP after many weeks of testing many different ROMs. Seems best to me, combined with EX kernel
ABC-Rom, no bugs, stock feeling:

paranoidandroid ROM is awesome!
PureNexus or PixelROM
You could also look at Carbon Rom or Tesla (other GZR Roms are available ) or AospExtended or Slim
Then you have the Lineage based ones such as crDroid
I prefer the ones which are true to the Nexus look rather than Pixel Wannabes. But that's the beauty of the old Nexus phones that it very much whatever floats your boat.
@tactical bacon: that's, why 'best rom'-threads are unwanted here. Finally you get a complete list of all settled ROM.
Features and base are given in each OP. Battery-life depends on your usage.
PureNexus. Great team, solid ROM, nice features, quick updates, and very helpful thread.
I've been out of the XDA/Android world for a while. But I remember that 80+% of the roms had nasty bugs, esp. w the camera, calling, etc. pretty basic usability stuff.
Which are the best roms when it comes to stock bugfree performance? Is dirty unicorns the way to go?
I don't really mind ZUI, but I need to be able to solve the heat issue, unacceptable. I am not so much into trying every single rom out there, I just want to have food experience w my new AWESOME phone
AICP is the one
AICP is the best rom out there which is stable for lenovo z2 plus. It has tons of customization and good battery life.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/development/rom-aicp-12-1-nougat-z2plus-t3590357
This ROM is worth rooting.

Try ViperOS ...trust me you won't regret it...it is bugless... also if you are not satisfied with the camera quality then you can flash snapit camera
I always flash snapit after installing any custom rom
Thank you for the recommendations, I will check them out first thing after I root my zuk
ViperOs 2.1 last version a very good rom and good battery life
Check out AEX too. Been using it for more than a month now. Solid. Of course, I don't play video games. So YMMV

AEX seem to receive a lot of positive feedback on zukfans too.
Hey guys, I have not been in the romming business (is that a phrase?) For a long time, maybe since I've had the Galaxy S2. I've been looking around for quite some time on these forums and I couldn't really decide on anything, everything seems really good. Which one would you pick between the popular ones? Lineage, resurrection, Nitrogen and so on?
Lineage 15.1 is running smooth. Resurrection Remix is the most customization Rom but Lineage OS and RR version 9.0 is very running well with oneplus 3T. Nitrogen might running smooth but i don't like icon shape is square.

It really depends on what you need. There are many who are happy with the OOS. Some are never satisfied.
Decide on what you basically need in a ROM and then read the OPs of all the ROMs and also the last few pages of their threads to find out how they perform against your requirements. Shortlist a few, then install them one by one and run them for a few days to check for yourself. No one's opinion can be a substitute for your own.

So I listened to your advice and installed resurrection remix a few days ago. I like the features but honestly my phone became even slower than before and it's quite unbearable. What would you say is the best ROM performance wise? I'm ready to try another one and I realized performance is the most important thing for me.

You can try SkyDragon and Nitrogen OS. I am not saying that they are the best performancewise but overall they seem to be better.

My suggestion would be dirty unicorns but Android P is their final build so only do it if you want to flash and forget.
