Cm14 still has some issues like echo in speaker calls, messenger calls, etc...if you can live with them, try it

Well what do you want? What is important? Gotta say that OxygenOS has been fine for me.

For me is too early to use CM14, I prefer to stay with Resurrection Remix - especially BlackJubel mod and Xposed - it is based on CM13 and pretty stable. The best ROM with lot of options for me.

Most stable ROM with some very custom features and great battery life can be found here. OxygenOS is not bad at all, if you like the stock Android feel.

How is the camera compared to the stock one?

Most stable imo is defenately 3.2.7. Also can't beat stock cam quality and speed.

OOS or CM13?

Just received my OP3 today and was wondering is OOS or CM13 more stable and battery friendly?
The only big downside on CM13 is the camera quality, it's not as good as OOS + Oneplus Camera app. Battery life, fingerprint scanner performance, etc is similar.
Agree with litter, but, Imo and with resurection remix rom, the batery life is much better...

BJ Resurrection remix has OOS camera. I no longer have a reason to use OOS

I don't really use the camera alot so if CM13 is more stable and battery friendly than OOS, then I can use the OOS camera port for CM.

There is 3 Resurrection ROM, is there any difference between them?

I'm not sure if it is more stable, but I don't really like OxygenOS or trust it too much (reason 1, reason 2), so I always use CyanogenMod.
Even with the port, the camera quality on low light is still not the same. Oneplus is aware and they are trying to come up with something that allows custom roms to use their camera stuff. But... this is Oneplus, don't expect anything soon.
I've never tried BJ Resurrection Remix rom, so I can't comment on that.

IN GENERAL NOT REALLY. but internal yes and some have a bit more features than others. I believe the JB is the only resurrection that actually is guarantee to work with OOS port In other versions some random bugs show up. also I like the fact that JB doesn't update the rom EVERY week he only updates it when there is security patches or new features to be added(necessary updates). I personally don't flash nightly builds. this rom is super smooth and I think battery is Great! I go to bed with 20-30% every day.

Good, stable and bat. friendly ROM

Hi all,
Yes, we all know. Every month somebody is answer this question.
But also every week/month there is a new rom, custom build etc. etc.
So my question friends.
With rom is stable, smooth and bat. friendly?
Or what do you guys have? Thanks
RR Official + ElementalX + AKT

Freedom OS 2.8, bluspark kernel. wih 4g heavy usage, giving me 4-5hrs SOT constantly. and in wifi/light usage , 7-8hrs SOT always. Loving the current setup.
Pheonix AEX by itself... has a great kernel and easily gotten 9+ SoT in the last two battery cycles. Has all the customization you'll ever need built in and has the best OOS camera port. Just give it a try, it wont disappoint.

VertexOS! Is has Voxpopuli and EAS. It's simple and runs really really smooth... One of the Smoothest roms out there with decent battery life!
Phoenix AEX

I'm running the unofficial Pure Nexus ROM with its included Sultan kernel. It's good in my opinion.
Use unofficial Pure Nexus ROM with its included Sultan kernel. It's good ROm, stable ,bat. friendly
Thanks guys. I will try Vertex Now, I have EAX Phoenix, but it's a bit laggy...
I gonna try Pure Nexus when it's stable enough. (I see posts about lags).

Well, reduced small cluster max freq by one step. Rest all as it is. Agressive doze is OFF. Somehow feels that keeping it ON drains more. /Contradicting/
Tried naptime initially, but with and without it, the duration is more or less the same.
I am also looking for a great ROM.
Is official Resurrection Remix the "best"? It has all features of the other ROMs?? Good battery life and stable??
Official kernel?
Or are there better ROMs or kernels and if yes, which are the advantages?

I personally don't know, why to use a Oxygen OS based ROM? I think, it has no features and not much customization and nothing great? Or am I wrong?
xXx no limits rom with bluspark kernel is a beast. Camera is my priority especially video recording and no other rom could suffice that. Very stable ofcourse.
Rom has inbuilt performance tweaks and is super snappy. Ofcouse I tried plenty other roms especially for camera, sulan's rom phoenix aex rom and many more , they manage to take good photos almost as good as OOS but none of them could match video recording smoothness of OOS especially in 1080p 60fps. Tried and tested a lot. And with my usage I easily get around 6 to 7 hours of sot with excellent performance.

But Oxygen OS based ROMs don't have many features, I suppose.

Best AOSP ROM as of now?

I'm not a big MIUI fan but until the initial 72 hours go by I'm stuck with it... However that doesn't stop me from looking into all kind of AOSP ROMs.
I know that I'll have to test and try them all myself, but I'm curious what all of you are using and why.
My biggest focus is definitely battery life (screen time more so than standby) and I'd love it if any of you could give me numbers on this as well.

Resurrection remix, OmniROM, and LineageOS all share code trees. The differences between them should rally just be the minor feature set differences. I personally use LineageOS, but that is just because I like Lineage.
RR from Arasthel is awesome, just very very bad battery life.
OmiRom, not as smooth as MIUI, but better battery life than RR (but slightly less than MIUI)

Funny you mention smoothness compared to MIUI.
I find MIUI to be a laggy mess.
So.. it seems Omni is the place to be for battery life?

is your device full or has 100 apps running at the background? Miui is very very smooth. If your phone is clean then something wrong is going on with your miui. Some people complained for problems after ota update. A clean install solve the problem.
To add to what @papavales is saying, check what apps have autostart enabled. Great feature from MIUI that gives you great control over resource hungry apps.
I've swtiched from MIUI to Omni weekly builds and Im surprised how good this ROM is. I find xiaomi.eu laggy like hell last time...

Had some time to run the battery through its paces yet? Debating on whether I should go with official or unofficial builds here.
Official would mean hassle-free OTA, but unofficial (judging from the changelog) seems to be better tweaked for our device?

In my opinion WEEKLY are better, but thats mine. More stable and in my example more smooth (?)
I've settled for unofficial lineage os for the time being (now that I'm unlocked I need to try them all) and I'm just so happy to be back on AOSP after being forced to endure MIUI for three days waiting on the unlock permission...
The recent screen and notification shade on that thing just kill it for me.
Back in MIUI 4 and 5 they still rocked more or less clean versions of these but everything that came after just ruined it for me.

Best rom to replace official Beta rom with MIUI 10

Which rom you guys recommend to replace official ROM?
I've been reading the threads and it seems every rom has a bug, but i'm actually fed of MIUI and want stock android.
LineageOS 15.1, no bug for me, smoother than MIUI. Just a weak SOT at some moments.

Moreover, there is weekly update which is really cool for bug fix and security.
LOS16 is also good rom, it doesn't still have all customizations of regular LOS15, but battery life is better

I'm waiting Official builds to update to LOS16 but I'm glad to know the battery is better than LOS 15.1 (which is not at the top...).
I'd say that LOS 16 is stable enough for daily use

Recommend to me a good Oreo rom

Hey guys
I previously owned a Redmi Note 3 and flashed so many roms on that phone.
Now i just got a Redmi Note 5 Pro. Unlocked it. But currently I am very busy with assignments and don't have a lot of time.
So i can't keep flashing rom every few days.
Please recommend me a good Oreo rom. It should ideally not lag and have no random reboots. Basically I just want to flash and forget for a few months until Pie roms get very stable.
Thanks to all for their help.

Bro listen! Lineage os is most widely used custom rom in the world. Your device has official lineage os 15.1. So you should flash it & see if you're happy with it. Only customizations not present in los. After that you can try any other rom you want.

"Bro listen" - This does not sound like suggestion, rather like a command. What is good for you does not really mean that it will be for someone else. For example, on devices I have used, RN5 included, pure AOSP roms performed better than Cyanogenmod/LineageOS ones. They have been smoother and better in battery life.
Just because something is official it doesn't translate to a better than everything else, MIUI is an official rom from Xiaomi yet some releases were a bug fest.
I've tried LOS/RR and than jumped to AOSiP Oreo, that's close to pure AOSP but with additional useful features and it has been more stable, smoother and more battery friendly than LOS/RR and overall performance was consistent. In combination with Insigniux/Derp kernel it's great.
I've seen reports of MSM as great one as well, so that can be considered as well.
Anyway you'll have to try different rom and kernel combinations to see what works for you.

Exactly.
Although I can understand why some newer members are just dazzled by the "official" tag especially in context of LOS.
I especially dislike LOS because of lack of so many useful features. Why should I need to use xposed and 10 modules to get those features when I have root and recovery and I can simply flash a feature rich aosp rom.

Ok. I apologise if i gave someone wrong suggestion. But i was telling from my experience as for me los official always works great with no single bug till now. What i've seen is people sometimes complain a lot about problems in other new roms. So i was saying in that way. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll flash aosip with derp kernel.
One question tho. I want an oreo rom with battery life similar to miui 9.6. can you suggest me that rom? Miui 9.6 is giving me 12 hrs & 13 minutes of screen on time. Thanks in advance.

No need to apologise to me, since your post wasn't directed to me. You didn't suggest anything wrong, but the way you suggested it was a bit wrong. Anyway, AOSiP is a clean rom with good features and a default Derp kernel is great for battery life, I have had up to 14h of SOT (that depends on usage of course) but as far as I remember it was never below 10h.
