Lenovo P2 Screen Protection - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Ok, as we all should know by now, there's a curve or something like that around the home button, hence application of screen protectors seems to be impossible. Now I have the following questions:
Do you use a screen protector on your phone?
If yes, then what's the protector you're using that covers the below part?
If no, how's the quality of the default protection? Have you seen any scratches?
I believe your answers will have an important effect on decisions to get this phone (Maybe I'm wrong, but anyway please provide your answers.)

ive tried 4 tempred protectors and none fit properly so ive given up just using a case now.

This is pretty good

Where can I get it in in the Uk

Ultimate sheild and also ace case on Amazon UK. Tpu military grade film. Perfect fit. Already a thread about this.

Do they ship international? I've been looking for something like it.. Ultimate Shield is film..

Please post such queries in accessories section.
For tempered glass, use a 6H type not a regular 9H. The 6H should stick to the bent areas. It might not stick the edges properly due to the curved edges. Nevertheless it ain't bad either

[Review] The best, IMHO, dry screen protector: Ringbo Rearth Ultimate Clear Plus

Hello!
This is my review of the Ringbo Rearth Ultimate Clear Plus, the best dry-application screen protector for our GNex in my humble opinion. I've tried at least 5 dry protectors, and the only one which I'm happy with is this one, despite negative reviews.
Things that make me think this way:
It covers the screen more than any other, including the front facing camera and sensors area
It's precisely cut
It's scratch-resistant (obviously it gets scratched after a while)
It's oleophobic without being matte
Photos (click on them, they open in imageshack and click them again to make them bigger)
I really hope you'll find this review useful.
Regards!
How long have you had this protector? Thanks for the review.

I think I put it on 15th february aprox. I'll make some new photos, so you can appreciate how many scratches has it. It's scratched because I put it into my jeans pocket with the screen towards me, so It gets in touch with the metallic rounded things (I don't know how are them called in English) that jeans have. Regards!
Here are the new photos. Altough I've cleaned it, there are specks of dust over the screen. I think it has behaved quite well those 6 months of friction with my pockets.
It's nice to see that the Martin Fields dry protector isn't the only one that extends to the edge of the screen. I haven't had any lift-off problems with my Martin Fields and it's obvious that you aren't with your Ringbo so I wonder why other companies aren't following suit will full protectors.
I don't see any photo ...
Did you get this from their website? I'm asking because amazon sells it too, but its not the PLUS one. And where did you read that it was oleophobic? Can't seem to find that stated anywhere
Any rainbow effect?

This protector doesn't go really to the edge, but from all protectors I've tried, is the closest one.

I can also say these are very good screen protectors having tried them before, it doesn't bubble up as much as many other dry protectors I have tried, and doesn't have all the orange peel and rubbery feel of the wet install. i will be ordering these again to give them another try and ill post up some pics of my results
Did they change the design? Because their ebay listing shows that the front camera and ear speaker cutouts are different from the OP pictures. They are now open cuts instead of the closed cutouts shown in the OP.

Yes, because of the curved nature of GNex's screen, not only what they call "Contour", also the edges of the glass are a little curved down, dry protectors can't go to the edge, so it's case friendly. I use everyday a SGP ultra capsule case, and I have had 0 problems with it peeling protectors
how many comes in a pack 2?

OnePlus X - Tempered Glass Screenprotector

I ordered the original temepered glass screenprotector with my OnePlus X and I'm really disappointed about it. I want to know if anyone else has the same issue.
There's still air all around the edges. Really regret peeling of the plastic protector that comes pre-installed .
Wanted to order a Orzly one but they pulled it out of the website( maybe the same problems??)
Noticed this on the Nillkin site: "Because the phone has posted under arc, film after about a slight white border, is normally" .....
Is there or will there be a better one, or has anyone good experience with this type of protectors on curved screens?
Here's a picture of the original protector installed

It does look like that indeed. But it is perfectly aligned with the speaker and screen. Its not my first screen protector that i apply.. So I think it's not my fault..
I contacted Orzly today to ask if they are planning to release the Tempered Glass Protector for the OPX, as they where available a week ago as pre-order but not on the site anymore.
This was the answer I got:
"Unfortunately we are not planning to realised Tempered Glass Screen protector for the One Plus X. one plus x screen is too curved and we are not pleased with the fitting of the glass screen."
Seems like they have the same problem...
Is your glass 2.5D too (not talking about the screen of course )

No the original one isnt. But that doesnt has anything to do with the fitting to the screen.
I'm bought this one: https://oneplus.net/oneplus-x-tempered-glass-screen-protector
I ordered 2 of them, already have the phone so hope the shipping will not be too slow. I'll tell you when I get them.

You better use film rather than tgsp with such curved screen.
My father has the same problem with Note4 - edges of tempered glass is not round but straight, and screen is slightly round on the edges. I also planed to buy glass protector for my OPX but now i see that is not so good idea. I better wait for some hard case and i will live that original screen protector and i wish you well, maybe there will be curved tempered glass for our phones... who knows...
I ordered a similar one off Ebay. The same happened to me. I'm pretty good at applying screen protectors. There is air all around the edges. I bought a similar one for my wifes S5 and that went on perfect you can't even tell it's on. I'm sticking with it as the glass ones have saved my skin on other phones more than once.

For the looks maybe but a tgsp protects the screen much more!
I also ordered the NILLKIN, because I wasnt happy with the original one. I ordered the H + with rounded edges.
It was delivered today and was going to hesitate to go try this, eventually just went ahead and tried under the guise, "it can not be worse!"
I came to the conclusion that it was exactly the same size so probably had the same problem as the original.
And that was true, unfortunately, ...
So NILLKIN has the same problem as the original of OnePlus!
But!...
In contrast to the original is the NILLKIN H + rounded off at the edges so that feels better. Something also bothered me!
Conclusion, this is one better than the original! (Imho)

I need a good tempered glass screen protector...

So, what's the best tempered glass screen protector that fits cases and has adhesive on the WHOLE SCREEN PROTECTOR? Thanks!
Right now, my stupid screen protector has adhesive only on the edges and it makes a click sound whenever I type -__- very annoying, so I want a tempered glass screen protector that has adhesive everywhere and fits cases. Thanks
Have you possibly tried reading any of the threads including what I see is the massively long thread about screen protectors in this sub-forum? Asking the question that's been answered without doing the research yourself isn't really useful and just adds more of the same messages.
Pitaka everything. Ive tried multiple "top rated" cases and protectors from amazon and pitaka has been the only one thats actually quality and actually makes sense of what its purpose is.

good luck on finding tempered glass that doesn't have one of many issues.
I tried a number and all failed, so I went with the old flexible film protection. easy to put on, protects the screen from scratches etc, and entire thing sticks very well. it comes already shaped as the screen as they are the official Samsung screen protection and you can get them here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XDJ6CT2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was REALLY REALLY regretting buying this phone until I found this. You get 2 of them for that price by the way.
Anyways, hope that helps.

I rlyyyy prefer the tempered glass one. I do have insurance (cracked screen= $150 to fix), but I'd rather not have to use that. Tempered glass screen protectors have saved my ass countless times in the past with previous phones, and from what I've read, this one is even more fragile than past phones. So IMO, film is not the way to go unfortunately.

I don't know how to post inteegrated YouTube videos like above, sorry.
It's still only edge adhesive however he says it's fairly strong and hadn't come off in a week of use and he's going to report back again after a month. Also he says it doesn't effect screen sensitivity what so ever.
The edge adhesive worries me still, also they misspelled "friendly" on the box. I wish it was on Amazon to see reviews since their site has no review section. Product link is in his drop down info or whatever you call it on YouTube.

not sure why you think tempered glass is going to protect your screen against breaks anymore than film considering it is the case you use that would determine that. the rear glass is fragile, but the front glass is actually not
do your research from users who actually tried many of the glass protectors. like I said, if it wasnt for the film protection I have now, I would be looking at other phones and take the loss.
Exactly. Screen protectors help with scratches, but NOT breaks.
That is complete fake science, and anyone that says they help with shatters is just wrong.
If you've had your tempered glass screen protector break, but not your screen, it is simply because the screen protector is much thinner. Your screen would not have broken without the screen protector on that same drop either...

So far I've had 3 screen protectors on my device when I dropped it. The protector shattered, stuck on the device, but the device's screen didn't shatter. So... I'm here to trump your "fake science" with real facts. Screen protectors, at least glass ones for me, worked great to preserve the integrity of the actual glass on the device from spidering and breaking.
Actual conversation I had with some guy who was bragging about how he was so proud that he had his third crapple screen replaced:
Him: I found this really cool place that replaced my screen for $60
Me: I'm just careful
My "three" incidents were with three different devices in over 15 years. I marvel at these people I see on the subway with completely shattered screens. What are people doing that they cannot hold on their devices? Do people do NOT get that these are upwards of $500 devices? It's like not caring that you're driving your car into a brick wall and driving around with a completely smashed front-end of your car.

Ounier Full Coverage Bubble-Free Screen Protector as it was one of the first brands to come up when searching for screen protectors for Samsung Galaxy S9. My phone is fairly new and I needed to have it fully protected first before I include it in my busy daily routine. I’m the kind of person who chooses convenience over price, but as this product was recommended by a friend (for his S8), I gave it a chance. Besides, It’s really great that the pack has 2 screen protectors; the easier to change, the better. I’ve also had bad experiences with other screen protectors for my old phones as they sometimes hinder with some of the phone’s features, like the double tap, the sensors, etc. Since my friend can’t recall any troubles at all with this protector, this eased my mind a bit with what it had to offer.
I’ve always admired how my friend’s phone looked so seamless and smooth, it always fooled me thinking that his screen protector came with the phone when he purchased it. To my surprise, he installed it himself. Now I’m not a bad friend, but this guy can get excruciatingly stupid at times. I thought if someone as dense as him had managed to somehow not mess up with wet installation, how hard can it be?
I got the screen protectors, a squeegee, a tiny piece of cloth, a manual, and a small bottle spray solution. I’m the old-fashioned type, I never even knew that “wet installation” is actually a thing if not for my buddy. All these items looked so weird to me. I’ll never understand how people come up with this stuff but if it works, then it's fine with me.
Whitestone dome is the best one I've used. It saved my screen countless times before it finally broke. Worked well with all my cases.
Was looking to see if anything newer has been released bit I guess not.

SoMi glass screen protector: no halo, full screen coverage, see link for pics

After seeing a lot of posts in the screen protector thread about there not being any good glass screen protectors, I just wanted to share a few photos with you guys of my phone with the screen protector on it. See link below. I misaligned the protector from top to bottom so there are a few spots on the bottom that didn't stick completely; those are my fault

You can get it here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B076...SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=somi+pixel+2&psc=1
Please note that the description says the protector doesn't fully cover the screen; I don't know if it said that when I bought it or not but they MIGHT have changed the design. If you bought one of these recently, please comment
Well, that indeed doesn't cover the whole screen. It has big gap on the sides.
Does it has dot matrix?
How is the responsiveness of the touch screen?
Is it easy to install? Do you need to apply any kind of wet solution?
Thanks!
It isn't a dot matrix, touch responsiveness is normal, install is like any other glass screen protector (no liquid, just stick it on and smooth out the bubbles)
And sorry if I wasn't clear, I meant it covers the whole OLED panel

Ya, really disappointed that they don't. Really need something to protect the screen before my Pixel 2 order arrives.
Spigen seems to be releasing their version of the Pixel 2 tempered glass on Dec 13th.
No idea if it will actually fit to the screen well or not though.
For me the IQ shield works great, it is also user friendly for the installation part.

Question Testing other curved glass protectors on the 6pro

I have already tried a OnePlus 8 pro protector, but that protector is just ever so slightly too tall and not wide enough. It is 6.78" after all...
Does anybody have any ideas on what I can try next, so we can find a solution to this screen protector situation... I like the look of curved, but I absolutely hate the hassle it causes with screen protectors.
Does anybody have any suggestions... I'm willing to buy and try until we find one that works.
WHY put a protector over Gorilla Glass Victus?
I gave up screen protectors!

Because some of us like to use a protector, and the glass will eventually scratch... Especially the oleophobic coating. If you don't have anything constructive to add, then why bother. Go and be happy with your phone without a protector....

Bailed out on protectors back in the Oneplus 7T days and rapidly realized I was wasting my time with a protector. Never used one and my 8T and zero scratches over the last year. Hope the tech only gets better, so I for one see no reason for it. But.. This is an opinion.

WHY put a protector over Gorilla Glass Victus?
I gave up screen protectors!

Exactly! I'm tempted with every phone to add a screen protector but Gorilla Glass Victus is also said to surpass Gorilla Glass 6 in terms of durability. Corning states that Victus is two times more scratch-resistant than Gorilla Glass 6 and up to four times scratch-resistant than competitors.
Jesus. A person creates a thread to ask a question and all but one response they get have nothing to do with answering the question. Give us a break, please.

I also didn't try to tell the OP that he shouldn't be asking that question because I have a different preference. Trolls.

Name calling is so mature.
My post was simply to emphasize the person I was replying to that this new gorilla Glass victus is extremely strong. If you don't like my answer you don't have to reply to it with non-value-added words. Your reply literally had nothing to do with this post in any way whatsoever, but please keep calling US trolls.

I REALLY AM LOOKING FOR A GLASS SCREEN PROTECTOR, I PREFER THEM. SO WOULD YOU PLEASE STOP INTERUPTING THE THREAD WITH YOUR PREFERENCES.
I have 2 on the way, Super sheildz glass and a basic tpu from amazin. Considering how scratched even the glass protectors get, and I do not kick my phones around, I want to be able to sell it mint and You cannot do that if it doesn't have a case and screen on it from day one.
I get top buck for my phones because of that. Your MMV but it's a cheap investment. IntelliGlass has been sold and that was my fave so no screens from them and I'll be damned if I'll pay 40$ for one from Spigen even if it's the best, ill wait till it's half off.
There will be more entries into the market but it's limited right now. I'll post back on how it goes.
There seems to be a problem with the fingerprint reader not working when a glass screen protector is fitted, the one i fitted to my Pro was absolutely rubbish and pinged off so i didnt get to see the problem but the Spigen on i put on my wifes 6 means her fingerprint scanner doesn't work correctly now.

This. I don't see any scratches on my 2 year old 4 XL. Screen protectors were a pain in the ass to apply in the old days when the screens were flat. But now, not only the screen is curved as fuᴄk, but there's also that on-screen fingerprint reader that is already not great. Over my dead body am I dealing with the nightmare that would be a screen protector on this thing.

I get it bro... Is using the finger print unlock important to you? Every glass protector I've seen (on Amazon) the title either says "doesn't support finger print reader" or the reviews say that. Since your phone already has glass screen (please don't tell at me for saying that ) would you consider one of those plastic screen protectors? That's what I'm thinking about getting. Yes I'm answering your question.
Also you spelled interrupting wrong. You forgot the second R.
