I doubt this is possible without rooting, but I'll ask anyway.
Is it possible to omit a user app from the Ultimate Power Saver?
I have Gravity Screen installed, and power saver disables it.
No big problem, and I understand why it does this, but I'd like power saver to ignore Gravity Screen completely.
Thanks.

I wanted to know if I was using wasted resources by using my direct key mapper to map the Power button to the "Lock Device" App. Whenever I hit the power button, it runs lock device and I get the "slide 2 unlock screen" When I hit it again, it puts the phone in sleep mode. Is this the best way in terms of being using resources to lock the device? I have no problem hitting the power button twice to put the phone to sleep...Just wanted to make sure it wasn't running the program over and over again. I feel that this is a much better solution then installing a keylock program to do this.
Have you given the SmartLock utility a try? It utilizes no cpu or RAM resources. This way you don't have to press the power button twice every time.
Regarding, your question, maybe you should just try it out for a day or so. If you notice your battery life taking a toll, then it's probably not a good idea.

Will the use of this app cause the phone to consume more power since it is constantly monitoring the proximity sensor?

no, my battery life still reach 14-16hours for daily use (email, chat, browse)
im not using sensor never off, so i think that will not consume more battery.
Try Gravity screen off better
Is there a way to disable the home button turning on the screen? Its easy to press it by accident, I'd rather have it only turn on via the standard power button.
Oh, and how about not having the screen turn on when you get messages?
The only way I know to disable the home button is with root, as far as messages are concerned try a few apps from the playstore (handcent, go sms) they have a lot more features than your stock app., which is what I assume that you are using .

I have root, but I only want to disable it for turning the screen on. Like accidentally in my pocket for example. Once I turn the device on via the power button i'd like to use the home button as normal...
Not sure if that is possible.
Do you have Wanam xposed installed, I believe there is a module for that.

Bingo! Wanam worked!

So we all know that Verizon got rid of the standard Power Saver feature on our phones, maybe because they hate battery life? Anyway all they left us with is Extreme Power Saver, which basically cripples the phone and is useless. IMO have the standard Power Saver and being able to use just the low-power cores would be a HUGE benefit.
Is there any way to get the Power Saver feature back?

Okay, thanks for the response. Now it's just a matter of waiting for a method to root my phone that doesn't involve shipping it halfway across the country.

If your stock, locked and two smoking barrells...lol you still can using Nova Launcher (I have it on mine...S-ON, stock, and locked).
"While in sense home download and install nova launcher from play store, DO NOT set as default home, stay on sense home. Goto any home screen but blinkfeed, long press select add widgets. Once in that screen use the drop down to select shortcuts instead of widgets. Select ACTIVITIES which should be the first shortcut in your list, scroll to find power, expand power, find powersaver.PowerSaverActivity, and your done. Go back to home screen click shortcut, and it will open powersave. But jus like dottat said if you reboot you must disable and reenable after restart. It will say its active but won't be till you do this.
I can confirm that switching to another launcher after enabling power save will not disable it, jus have to go back to sense home on reboot to reenable it."

Can someone make a module of some sort for ultra power saving mode? It just features power saving settings that can be toggled that is greater than the system power saver. Can it also alter the kernel settings if a custom kernel is installed?
