N5110 + LOS 14.1: pen vs. finger on the menu button - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

Installing LOS 14.1 on a N5110 was easy and it's running very well. There's just one glitch I noticed so far: the menu button (the left one) shows the menu *only* when I use the pen. When I use the finger, the task manager is opened, no matter which function I set to that button in the system settings. Is this a bug, or is there an option somewhere I need to activate?

<Left Softkey> function not supported on Button 5

I've recently updated to vp3G's 3.62 Rom. (Very fast and responsive by the way)
I've uncovered an issue though. I've always used Button 5 (the PTT button on cingular's 8525) as the left softkey and Button 3 (Below the power button) as the right softkey. The button 3 mapping works, but when I press button 5 I get the message "<left softkey> function not supported on Button 5"
I've installed the PTTfix.cab but it still doesn't make a difference. Has anyone seen this yet?
All applications selected to launch with this button work, and all of the <function> "Applications" EXCEPT <Left Softkey>, <Right Softkey> and <Context Menu> Work...

Hardware Keys Hacked

Hi,
Today while reboot some application asked for two hardware keys, I've pressed Volume-Up and Volume-Down keys and land up into following issue.
1. Pressing Volume-Up key start selecting elements on screen with blue focussing rectangle instead of volume increase functionality. This is similar as pressing TAB keys in desktop application to switch controls on screen. Volume-Down key acting as Enter (or Select Key) instead of volume decrease. Now I can operate all applications on phone using two keys but cant control volume
2. I've not installed any such application to map these keys. Now this app is not appearing again when I reboot my phone
How can I reset volume keys back to original state and remove or disable this hacking application or feature of android phone. I don't want to install a button remapping application - first need to eliminate the bug.
Device: One Plus 3
ROM: Resurrection 5.4.8
Same issue her
Super irritating. Can't find anything via Google search except this thread.
you have Talkback turned on - go into accessibility settings and disable it.
navigating in this mode is different (for users that need slower inteface), so :
tap = double tap

Long Press Menu Button (Square) for "Last App" - Lineage OS 14.1

Hi All,
In CM13 I grew accustom to long pressing the menu button (square shape on the navigation bar) to switch instantly to my previous app. In Lineage OS 14.1 this shortcut is no longer default (on my device it's a split screen shortcut).
In the settings (, I found a way to reassign the home button's long press action, but I haven't been able to find a way to reassign the menu button's long press action.
Is this possible in stock? Please let me know if I've missed it. Thanks
It's now done by double-tapping the recent apps button (where you assigned it) - a change introduced in Nougat, not just in LOS. Even faster than having to hold down the button, but sure takes some getting used to.

Activate menu buttons (back, home, open apps) on LineageOS 15.1

Hi, I installed LOS 15.1 and I'm seeing that I don't have the menu buttons (back, home, see open apps) in the bottom of the screen. I only can go back, go home and see the open apps sliding the fingerprint. Is any option in the settings to activate the menu? If is it, I can't find it.
Hope someone can help me, thanks!
