To root you'll first have to flash TWRP recovery in Odin, which will trip knox.
No method to root without it.

Really? No other at this time?.......ok thank you

With lots of research about root ....and Samsung i conclude (if i have correctly understood) that with the galaxy S6 ,chainfire have done the exploit to keep devices "clean"(knox flagship,s-healf ,samsung pay......etc....and lots of apps working by creating "systemless" root , but samsung devellop and update all their security.....and Chainfire is losing the fight since S7,S8....last note..."A" series...
There are less and less apps for root devices too...
And it's possible that it's the little begining of the end of development ===> in "theory" it's stupid to buy expensively a phone for to loose functionnalities and security + warranty ....in this case we can buy an old second-hand or a low-end device for to fiddle.
But we need root for some goods optimisations ,debloats and remove spam ....really pity !!!!! And this A series 2017 is a really great phone...
I have seen that towelroot ,pingpongroot....would root (galaxy S7 MM,) without tripping knox but not "really" confirmed here in xda ( the very serious reliable "bible" of android world).....but if it really root without tripping knox ,it's possible to have problem with some samsung components and playstore apps...i don't know .

Yes, I badly want to root my phone too but am afraid to lose warranty. I even contacted the Samsung Customer Service Support in my country to confirm whether rooting will void my warranty and they say that.
BTW I see that your location's in France. I read somewhere here that in EU, tripping Knox doesn't void warranty. So you can just root away without concern.

Any safe root method / kernel available?

Any methods root available for the S6 sprint?
I don't want to sacrifice NFC, Samsung Pay or anything. Just need root and flash Roms

Any root method will sacrifice SamPay. If it trips knox= bye bye to SamPay.
You're best hope is here, but not released for the Sprint S6 just yet. Expect it to be released relatively soon though! http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/root-root-s6-coming-soon-t3098476

Safestrap and root?

Is safestrap a viable option since everything is so locked down on this device? I remember when I bought the s4 for Verizon, safestrap was my only saving grace. Will delete if this question has been answered. I can't find it anywhere though. Also, what are the chances of root actually being obtained because everything seems pretty grim to me. I can't even find any discussion on anyone even attempting to get root for 928a. Thanks much!:good:
Root, as for this phone, G928A, is slim to none. With the updates that fixed the Stagefright exploit, it's very doubtful. Safestrap will only work if there's Stable root (not temp root - like on Note 4, for example).

My only question left then is how did the at&t and verzion galaxy s6 variants obtain root? Stagefright exploit is still unfixed or did someone discover a new exploit?
They were on kitkat and able to get an exploit to work to have root. For further details, go to the forum and take a look

Aboutbrooting my phone?

Hello Xda Family. I migrated to A2 Lite 3/32 last week from my retired Sony Z3+ and I want to ask a few questions about rooting. I updated phone to latest January Pie update. (It was oreo which was pre-installed from box).
Due to camera quality DRM limitations, rooting Sony phones was a scourge. As I read rooting topics, unlocking bootloader and rooting the phone aren't harmful for our phones. But I am still suspicious about rooting. I will have a few questions about rooting.
1- Does Rooting Mi A2 Lite permanent phone? (I don't really care about warranty). Which magisk and which rooting topic is best for new beginner?
2- Is there a way to flash stock ROM again? If something goes wrong, I will be able to get the phone working again.
3- One of my reasons rooting phone is having camera api2 Google Cam. Stock camera photos are very bad. And other rooting reason is having a kernel which can extend my battery life and getting rid of the action services and health services apps from system.
Professional ideas and experiences are really appreciated.
I can't decide if I root or not...

What do I lose if I root my S9 ?

I've got an S9 thats running on Androit Pie and I was wondering, what do I lose if I root my phone ? like do I lose acess to future updates on android pie and such or anything like that ?
Any response is much appreciated friends !
knox tripped 0x1 - in some countries you lose warranty (in europe you don't)
You lose (non reversable, not even if you go back on stock):
Knox,
Samsung pass,
Samsung Pay,
S-Health(you can fix this one with a build.prop tweak)
Secure folder
Moreover, if you get LineageOS there is no Iris scanner, since it's not supported on aosp. you still get it if you are on rooted stock

What apps do I lose on root?

I couldn`t find some kind of list of which apps I lose access to if I root the Note 10/10+.
The last android fone i had was in android 4.4, so its been a long time.
I want to root, but it would be nice to know the apps that i can't use if i rooted.
Thanks.
Secure folder, Samsung pay and any app that makes use of knox
Most other apps can be made to work with tweaks

Most important question you should ask , What do i gain by rooting ? ad blocking ? system ui theming ? all of these things can done without rooting but if you are using exynos version you will get most of lost functionality by going custom rom route.

If you want just root + Stock ROM
- Secure folder
- Samsung Pay
- Samsung Pass
- Samsung Health
- Google Pay - There are some workaroun, search XDA
- Many banking and other app but should be fixed with magisk hide
but I believe those app can be run if you reboot to device without root.
From above many things can be fixed with some patch like
- Secure folder can work
- Samsung health can work
- Samsung Pay can be used with Gear watch
only samsung pass won't work but you can use Google's auto fill option instead.
Good to know all these things. I decided to root it when it arrives. Thank you.

Is rooting difficult and is it really worth rooting? Isnt it possible to mess up your phone / void warranty? Seems like a big risk just for a little customization

Yes it is worth rooting in any aspect.
Rooting is not "little customization" rather then deep changes "under the hub" and "risk" is only for those who doesn't know why and what to do with rooted device.
And warranty ?...Really, due to "effective" Samsung "support"...who cares about warranty...
