Miscellaneous Xperia ion parts?

Hi all.
I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find and purchase miscellaneous phone parts: specifically, the top and bottom tabs/covers on the back of the Xperia ion.
I did a deep web search and watched the n00b video, I don't know where else to turn and I just got this sweet ion at a great deal, but those covers were missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Need to remember - Only 1 meter down deep :silly:
What do you guys think about the water resistance of this phone while earphones are plugged in?
I'm not sure if it would survive a run in the rain while listening to music. But that's one thing i would like to do and also one of the reasons i bought this phone.
Sent from my LT26w using xda app-developers app
it is water "resistance" so you will screw it if you put in on water when one of those ports covers are open or even not "properly closed"! but if you use a bluetooth headset you will be still fine cuz the cover is not open anymore! and under the water i just tried to unlock the screen but it didnt work "perfect"! the screen was still working but not perfect not as good as it works out of water but when the screen is wet out of water like when u just take the phone out of water it works good!
Brave man indeed lol XD
Afik it is only ip 56 or 57...
That is a looooong way from water proof...
So keep that in mind if you really want to test it...
And have a look at a ip list to see what ip56/57 really is about...
I would like to see a ip68 phone instead...

^should be okay if the phone is not completely exposed. newer phone can be dunked in water briefly and still survive (iphone 4/ galaxy s3)

[Q] Similarities between D5503 and SO-02F

Hi, I have the possibility to by the Japanese version of Z1 Compact. I am wondering would it be possible to cross flash it with the D5503 ROMs, root hacks, etc? Will the mods work.
According to this page the only differences are:
- the LTE frequency bands
- no FM radio
- digital TV receiver
Considering that I don't care for any of the features above I am ready to loose them.
So has anybody played with this phone? What are differences on SW level, etc.
I know the most likely answer is "NO", but somebody might have tried it seen some other modifications, etc.
Thanks.
I can't help with your questions but dam, I'd swap out my fm radio for digital TV receiver

I will not get the Digital TV reception anyway as it is not available around the world as it was mentioned above.
One thing I will gain though is - glass back panel.
Can I live with Sony firmware, and reading Japanese sites for rooting, ROMs, etc, or can I wait and loose the glass back - this is the question
I'm not sure what I'd choose given glass or plastic. Before receiving the phone I would have chosen glass but after using the plastic it doesn't bother me in any way.

Not so fast myfriend. It has now come to light that the Z1f has plastic panel as well & had a white sheet change to clarify.
Per Xperia Blog:
Both the D5503 and M51w variants of the Xperia Z1 Compact were changed on the 6 February 2014, with the same amended wording. So, this doesn’t look like an accident to us. Sony has purposely changed the wording and therefore our conclusion is that it is pretty likely that the back is indeed made from plastic and not glass, as initially suggested.

The M51w is the Japanese version. I think that all the reviewers got it wrong & were just regurgitating what was purported on the Sony site. It sucks as I sent my Z1c back & had planned on getting the Z1f. I'll have to wait & see if any solid evidence comes to light.

The M51w is "Z1 colourful" for China without LTE. Check the link I included in the first post. According to the SO-02F white paper the material of the back is a bit unclear.

Yeah. This is strange indeed. I had never even heard of the Z1 "colorful edition". I wonder if the Z1f weighs 3 grams more because of a glass back, or most likely because of the tv tuner.
Personally, I detest the DOCOMOX1 branding smack right up on the front of the thing, so I waited for the international version to be released.

I'm facing an issue of a grey area. When i spoke with a Google person, he said it might be because of the beta

Have you looked at the lens closely to see if there is any dust on or under the lens?

This is the spot you're talking about right? I highlighted it by circling and drawing an arrow. It's interesting it's not in your panoramic pic multiple times but maybe it's getting cropped out. Is it in that spot only while holding the phone vertically and then moves when taking a pic horizontal?

It appears in all pictures but doesn't appear multiple times in pano. Actually never observed that in a long pano. When I spoke with a Google executive, he mentioned he cannot help as I was using a beta version. He asked me to revert to 8.1 and see if the issue still persists...I haven't tried it yet
