Need to remember - Only 1 meter down deep :silly:
What do you guys think about the water resistance of this phone while earphones are plugged in?
I'm not sure if it would survive a run in the rain while listening to music. But that's one thing i would like to do and also one of the reasons i bought this phone.
Sent from my LT26w using xda app-developers app
it is water "resistance" so you will screw it if you put in on water when one of those ports covers are open or even not "properly closed"! but if you use a bluetooth headset you will be still fine cuz the cover is not open anymore! and under the water i just tried to unlock the screen but it didnt work "perfect"! the screen was still working but not perfect not as good as it works out of water but when the screen is wet out of water like when u just take the phone out of water it works good!
Brave man indeed lol XD
Afik it is only ip 56 or 57...
That is a looooong way from water proof...
So keep that in mind if you really want to test it...
And have a look at a ip list to see what ip56/57 really is about...
I would like to see a ip68 phone instead...
Sent from my LT26i using xda premium
^should be okay if the phone is not completely exposed. newer phone can be dunked in water briefly and still survive (iphone 4/ galaxy s3)

Looks like the body has been overly stressed. You'll see the same thing in perspex and glass when it's bent but not broken. I'd say someone was a bit too active with the phone in a tight pocket.

Likewise no effect on my white one, just like xmoo I was in direct sunlight for 10 days as well in Turkey on my holiday and no peeling effect like that.
Yep, phones need holiday too sometimes.

what about Cause for this issue ?
many body have this issue by normal use.
I think you already have your questions answered isn't?
To much sunlight
It's stressed/bend to much
Another thing I can think off is that the phone is dropped.
How do you know many body have this issue, where do you base that on?

I have a few scratches on mine, is there a guide on how to replace this?
who know about true/real cause?
Try the search button on top right corner of your screen with this keywords:
'HTC One X replace cover'
It's easy.

I am on the lookout for a Galaxy Nexus in Mumbai, India. I want to make sure that I get my money's worth when buying the phone i.e I don't want to get ripped off by the seller.
Can you please tell me how I can know if a phone is new or used previously.
I already read but people in the comments have reported that they don't always work:

I know. That's why I posted this thread - to see if someone else would have a answer.
There's very little you can do to check if it's new or not other than call Samsung and see if someone has registered the unit with them for some reason or another. Although the seals on the box being broken would be a massive give away

When i got my nexus in the mail my buddy took it out of the box and put his phone in to play a joke on me and didn't even break the seal. I asked him how he did it and he said he didn't even realize he had done that. So no the seal is no indicator at all lol.

I find it hard to believe you can undo the seal without damaging it, I had to proper rip mine to get into the box. Perhaps the EU ones are more secure!!
Either way, unless you're getting it from an official dealer it's hard to say whether it's 100% new or not
Any "Life proof case" coming out for the HTC One soon?
that would be cool if they did but I'm not holding out much hope. Lifeproof claimed they were going to make one for the S3 but it never came out. If they make one, I bet it will be the S4 before they make one for the One. maybe an email to them will get them at least thinking about it.

Yes it would. I work in a very dirty environment. A lot of metal dust and such..ruined the speakers on my Atrix 2. Just picked up a HTC One yesterday, don't want the same thing to happen to it...

When I used to be a metal finisher , we would put our phones in a zip lock bag to keep all the metal dust out. It worked really well and you could still use your phone. Just buy a box and keep them at work. Good luck!

So long time ago my defy got bricked while flashing..cos defy sipped all the juice and it got empty while flashing. I gave it for service no one could repair it.
Now I got a defy where only mother board works for approximately 13$ . Changed the motherboard , buttons, display and the back half myself and revived my defy.

but that's like saying no one should ever buy or use secondhand goods since you don't know what the previous owners had used it for any illegal activities? for examples, the secondhand car you bought could have been used for robberies, weapons used for murders, etc?
Its a kind of risk... u can preserve the ebay purchase paper for safety thats the only way out...

+1. how many smartphones out there besides motorola have multi-colour LED letting you know, without turning on the screen, if you have missed calls or messages etc? none to my knowledge anyway
and on top of that, water resist, dust proof, scratch resistance guerilla glass screen, and just the right size for a phone.....love it......not changing it for a long time yet.......unless it dies

That's perfectly normal IMO. I have heard these similar sounds in Samsung flagships and other OEMs before at different places. Enjoy your device till the time it is under warranty and it doesn't has any adverse effect on the day to day device functionality.

Wow i thought i am the only one. Yes it does make a rattling around .. even if i drop the phone on my bed from ≥15-20cm. And also if you tap on the area beside the camera lens, you get to hear a blank tapping sound. Is it so?

Hey, not you not me but every A50 user is reporting this to samsung and it said that it just a sound from the lens which is used for autofocus. So nothing to worry about it ?
I am facing the same issue. Rattling sound when I tap the backside of the phone.
What can be done for this? It has increased from last week.
