Yes, you can use the RUU.zip and method from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6

You mean fully convert using RUU? You would need s-off ($25 by sunshine app, unless it already happens to be s-off) and change the CID. Unless you are seeking the change the band support, its probably not worth it to fully convert.

[Q]Can I get the 4.4.3 OTA, after I flashed a GPE stock ROM and recovery

I have flashed my t-mobile M8 to GPE stock 4.4.2 ROM and stock gpe recovery.
Can I receive the GPE 's 4.4.3 OTA and update to 4.4.3?

Did you set your CID to the Google one? If so, it should work.
TO GET OTA UPDATES AND NOT HAVE THEM FAIL YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR CID TO MATCH THE GPE CID,
In fastboot mode type fastboot oem writecid GOOGL001.
(from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708589 )

Thank you very much. Now I have a superCID:1111111. I will change it and have a try.
By the way, the model id is t-mobile model id. Is it necessary to change this id?

From what I've read, you don't need to change the MID, but it couldn't hurt to change it to the Google MID.

Thank you again. I have read a post on the General M8 thread, he received the OTA push after flash the ruu on his t-mobile M8. only CID is GOOGL001. It looks the same hardware between the GPE M8 and T-mobile version.

Firmware upgrade problem

Okay my original Cid is H3G__106 and I'm super Cid now, I downloaded htc 001 nandroid backup and changed my Cid to htc 001, as well looked for updates but the update fails in philz.
I need the newer firmware for the new viper rom. (4.4.3 base).
How can I get it?

I assume I then need to use the h3g 106 one since the htc001 didn't work. Problem is I have 401.5 and there is no update for that.

Did you try to convert your device to international? MID and everything changed to International version? I'm not sure what the MID is for your device but if it's different than 0P6B10000 (International WWE) then it had to have been changed as well before you can convert to WWE version.
401.5 ? For what, 1.54.401.5 ... 2.22.401.5 ?
If you don't want to convert to International, rather go back download your backup from the collection thread and update your device to newest firmware from there.

The guides that I saw are for changing AT&T into Developer Edition or [GUIDE] S-OFF REQUIRED!! full conversion of GSM m8s to dev edition
Even though it's converting to a developer edition the philosophy behind it is the same when you change to WWE International version. Just use the correct backups, firmwares, MID and CID.
In step 1 you'll follow the thread and use the code for the HTC_Europe MID (0P6B10000).
For step 2 you'll just use HTC__001 as as the CID
Step 3 you'll grab the nandroid backup + stock recovery for the WWE International version (x.xx.401.x ) Rather use an older version like 1.54.401.5/10 and do updates from there, it'll be easier if you don't want to manually flash firmware and OTA's.
If you continue the way he has it in his guide then you'll get the firmware from the OTA collection thread(Just extract it from OTA.zip) or you can get firmware for device from mike1986's Androidrevolution.org
It's for a different device but the idea is the exact same.

1.54.401.5 is old Venom ROM version no.
H3G__106 firmware is : 1.54.771.9 (for 4.2.2) and you need the updated firmware 2.22.771.5 to run Venom 4.4.3
So download the OTA 1.54.771.9 -> 2.22.771.5 thanks @houstie, open it with 7-zip, extract out the firmware.zip and flash that in RUU mode.
Then reflash Philz recovery and install latest Venom ROM ...done

And placing the correct firmware/rom on it. You are S-OFF though, right? I didn't see you mention it so I'm just basically running on an assumption here?

Why not. Twrp is not "better" than philz and vice versa.....
If you want ViperOne, you'll want to switch to TWRP. It's on the OP on their thread.
Also, the super id I use is 11111111. Try that and see if it works.
Sorry I didn't quote you Mr Hofs, but I'm not sure how to yet on tapatalk.
EDIT just figured it out. Next time

[Q] Help whit custom recovery

Thanks
You don't need stock recovery to run an RUU.
But you do need to change the device's CID and MID to match the RUU.

As I already stated, if you want to run the Euro RUU, you need to change your MID and your CID to the Euro CID, MID.
If either (or both) CID or MID do not match what the RUU is looking/intended for, the RUU will fail.

RUU Question

Can you flash a different RUU on a carrier locked phone... So for example I'm on H3G, could i downgrade and flash a European RUU?

You need s-off and matching mid and cid for a full conversion, or you could s-off and flash a different firmware with a custom rom

Is it possible to downgrade using a ruu.exe

wat up peeps.
I was wondering if it's possible to downgrade using a ruu.exe file i found on androidruu.com called "RUU_HIMA_UHL_L50_SENSE70_HTC_Europe_1.32.401.17_Radio_01.01_U11440261_56.02.50306G_2_F_release_429340_signed_2_4.exe"?

That won't work. Read the readme post at the top of this forum (the RUU section) for a full explanation.
hi,
i have read the readme as advised and i saw the following:
"This means on the other hand, that downgrades from 4.x to lower firmware versions aren't that easy, either. You need to flash a 3.x NoWipe or a 3.x Full-Wipe Firmware Pack before you're able to use 1.x, 2.x or 3.x RUUs, again."
can i flash the firmware 3.x full-wipe on the nougat using the adb commands while s-on then flash the ruu for the marshmallow using the sd card method?
