Why?

There's also a Nexus 6P build. Not sure why they left out the 5X but included the older Nexus 6. I really wanted to give it a try because I'm on stock with a few mods since i got my 5x, i'd really like to try something different.

Flyme is is fairly decent. It doesn't play well with gapps I must say though. They don't have a true relationship with Google so things get a bit funky

What is the difference between Original Android development and just Android development?
Any news about MIUI jumping on the Nexus 7 2013?

I believe, technically, the original development section is for developers that creates new material. Examples include Paranoid Android, CyanogenMod, etc. The regular development section is for ROMs like Clean ROM that are based off the stock ROM with some APK tweaks . As well as other ROMs that will pop up based off of AOSP that are mostly kangs. Hope that helps!

Im working on doing build CM10.2 for this device now and hopefully get some official nightly out for us, so in between doing that and MIUI for the rezound, I was going to try and get MIUI on the nexus 7. The problem that you run into for MIUI is its not officially supported past 4.1.2 and very very very few devices (2 as matter of fact) support 4.2.2. So being this device is 4.3, and might be able to get 4.2 on here, MIUI might be a while. But i do plan on trying to build a MIUI build for this

Swagstr! Nice to see you around these neck of the woods. I was a fan of your rom on the Evo 3D back in the day. Hopefully we get to see some of your great work on here too.

I would very much appreciate it bro! I'm a huge fan of MIUI and if you can get it up and running on the Nexus 7, I might not look anywhere else.

Happy with the development so far?

Hey guys
I have this amazing tablet since a couple of week now..
I think the development has been kind of slow for a "nexus" device
what do you guys think?
Hard to get a lot of development going without a stable platform.
It's been through 3 updates since being shipped.
Remember, the first generation had a month or so head start, as there were a few hundred in the wild and the factory images released 30 or so days in advance of the retail launch.
There's stuff popping up... Just takes a bit of time...
Yeah I guess .. sooner or later roms like AOKP should pop up ..plus the European release just happened

Yeah it's not officially launched in Sweden yet, I had to import which is no problem anyway.

Yep so we might start seeing better development in coming weeks

Maybe it's not related with a stable platform
the nexus 7 has lots of hardware/software problems (wich have not been solved yet) maybe that's why.
and please dont ask for development, they wont hurry to make a kernel/rom just bec you make this thread
sorry if i look rude  but that's my opinion.
when i get mi nexus 7 2013 in september i wont start making a rom since first hours, i will first try it, enjoy it and when i get bored of the jelly bean 4.3 then i will make a rom.
maybe i am not the only one who thinks like this and that's why there aren't lots of projects so far.

and please, you have 4.3 android jelly bean, you want someone to make a port from a higher device? from a higher android version? wich one?
the devices who always have lots of development are for example an older device who gets a port from a higher one. or a good device wich has not many features.
anyway, you may be waiting for AOKP,CM,PA,etc.. just wait the good developers will release them soon.
Learn to do it yourself. Or shut up about it?
There are official CyanogenMod nightlies on CyanogenMods webpage if you want to try something new.

There's no need to be rude. It wasn't a complaint, it was an observation and I personally found some of the responses quite interesting.

Android KitKat Release date

Hello,
I saw on developers forum Android KitKat , I installed it and it was not like on picture of google.
So i am wandering When will be official Android 4.4 ?
TNX
Our phone won't get the official update. Google has dropped support for the GNEX
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk
Lol, wait couple months you might get a stable unofficial version of kitkat, gnex is old an outdated now so best upgrading to nexus 5 if you want any chance of software updates from now on.
[email protected]!!!!!! its so sucks
thank you ;'D

Man, it doesn't take much effort to make GNex look exactly like the screenshot from Nexus 5. Flash any of those 4.4 unofficial ROMs out there and a proper gapps, and all that's left is your patience to set it up properly. Aside from the lockscreen transparency, everything looks identical to a Nexus 5, I can say.

Yea if you don't mind major screen glitches blocking your view in browser an apps running current 4.4 roms on gnex.

That's out of discussion... Appearance like a Nexus 5 is the focus.

[Q]PA 4+ for Google Nexus S

Why the Google Nexus S is not supported anymore?
It still has official CM11 so why not PA 4+?
Was hopping for a answer from pa team but it seams that Nexus S is dead for them

But im sure that there are still a lot of nexus s users that would like to test it if it would be available
Hope someone will at least make port to nexus s...
Very disappointed
I've tried a whole slew of ROMS for my crespo, I love paranoid android 3, using it on my Nexus S is a joy... very disappointed that the device isn't considered by the developers for PA 4.
I had to make an account to voice how disappointed I am
Too bad pa devs don't own a nexus s
This phone starts to die slowly

MIUI?

Anyone know if MIUI is coming to the N5x? Just curious because it's so different. Would love to give it a shot.

Right now MIUI as a whole for Marshmallow is still in Beta form and should be released in the next couple of months. In time it will come to the 5X however in the meantime I would take a look at this preview video of what MIUI based on Marshmallow in the Beta form is looking like.
