Why the Google Nexus S is not supported anymore?
It still has official CM11 so why not PA 4+?
Was hopping for a answer from pa team but it seams that Nexus S is dead for them

But im sure that there are still a lot of nexus s users that would like to test it if it would be available
Hope someone will at least make port to nexus s...
Very disappointed
I've tried a whole slew of ROMS for my crespo, I love paranoid android 3, using it on my Nexus S is a joy... very disappointed that the device isn't considered by the developers for PA 4.
I had to make an account to voice how disappointed I am
Too bad pa devs don't own a nexus s
This phone starts to die slowly

Why do I eat an ice cream sundae and drink a slurpee outside in minus 25 degree weather, while it's snowing, in the middle of winter? Because I can.
Okay so first we get 50,000 battery threads, then 20,000 Galaxy Nexus is slower than a flying bumblebee, and now we're on track for 1,000 Sense port threads. Why can't you people just join in someone else's topics?

the question is:
WHY?
Why is this in the Galaxy Nexus section? Should be moved to the Nexus S general section. In any case, seems like a stride in the backward direction.
lol
why htc
I agree that this shouldn't be in galaxy nexus general. But if we got a GB sense port, we would all flash it by curiosity.

I owned several. Legend, Desire, Desire HD, and Sensation. I loved them all. I like sense but like aosp even more. It personal preference. But don't tell me you wouldn't be curious enough to flash sense on your Nexus I'm not saying keeping it on there.

I have removed sense from all my phones that came stock with them, I would not put sense on a phone.

Unfortunately I believe he meant to post it here, in hopes of more excitement. Since the nexus s folks are probably well aware of this. I'm going to let this remain for now, since there is a chance that someone may share his sentiments (albeit very very slim chance).
I'm not sure however why you would want sense on a nexus.

Seeing Sense on my Galaxy Nexus would scar me for life. I have already seen too much of Sense...terrible things, things that cannot be unseen. I wake at night in fear that my Nexus wants to suggest matching contacts. Noooooo. I kid, I don't think Sense is that bad. It is what it is.

There is a ROM for most popular HTC phones called "ViperRom". It is probably the most insane ROM I've ever seen, simply because of the sheer amount of tweaks.
The greatest feature I have seen on it is live, on the go framework tweaking. Load some .pngs into your phone, and use the built in editor to select them and use them as images in your status bar, such as the battery, signal, wifi, or ring mode images. There is no installable theme or .mtz file needed to theme the images; just select them from the tweaks menu.
Is there any ROM that has this ability or can be built to add this ability for the GSM Galaxy Nexus? Because that would be awesome.
nope. just a whole bunch of aosp ROMs that are almost exactly alike

Only Roms that give you a new UI experience is:
Paranoid Android
Miui
That is it.

I'm pretty jealous if that's what viperrom shouldve been like! Coming from an evo3d it was just another stock ROM with no bells and whistles

I can't believe the amount of people in here crying about the AOSP roms.
You bought a galaxy NEXUS. Not "sense-box-2230349039" or "blur-spaz-X08" or whatever the hell else you're looking for.
If you got a NEXUS device hoping that you'd be surprised by sense/b2g/windows/Android2.2/MacOS/whatever-else to be available...and working without show-stopping bugs...You have no idea what a NEXUS device is.
Nexus:
Get's updates straight from google (+yakju +takju -toro -toroplus...there's often a middle man) or in simpleton terms...
ANY DEVELOPERS WHO BOUGHT A NEXUS ARE FANS OF ANDROID AND WANT TO BUILD ANDROID. NOT SOME AFTERTHOUGHT SKIN WITH CLOSED/SEMI-CLOSED/"SOON-TO-BE-AVAILABLE" SOURCE.
If you came in to the game just to cry about the lackluster roms you shouldn't own the phone.

You will likely never get a Sense ROM on the Nexus and if you do it will be a port from another device. If you enjoy sense, you should stick with HTC devices. I came from a Sensation that had 1.9 million sense ROMS with few AOSP offerings.
The Nexus is the exact opposite. It's going to give you a 'vanilla' Android experience without the skins that you'll see from other manufacturers.
For me, I love the stability of the 'stock' builds and I can get enough customization through APEX launcher and some creativity.
Here is a great example of how much you can customize this device (and mind you, Black Bear is doing all of this without root): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804627

I guess I just had the wrong idea about the nexus. I kind of thought it was the phone that would have the most development, be it ROMs being ported, built, or whatever. Currently my prepaid Virgin Mobile Optimus V has a wider selection of "different" ROMs than the Nexus does. I guess I was wrong. I was by no means trying to start a fight, however, so I sincerely apologize if anything I said offended you in any way.

Yeah I have seen the forums for sense phones. It's like the Nexus forums, but replace the "AOSP" label before all the ROMs with "Sense". Like I said above, I kind of just thought the nexus was the phone that had the widest variety of development. I'd love to be able to try out sense or touchwiz or motoblur on my phone, even if I am a fan of stock android. I guess this us not the phone for that.

It depends on Samsung, they have to publish the scource codes of the kernel and other hardware components or CM cannot go ahed and start coding.

argh,
really, if paranoid (or at least cm10/11) won't be available soon, that will make me buy these LG Nexus or whatever else Google may show us
Right now, there are no official porters for CM10 for the galaxy note.
Samsung, by not releasing exynos/framework documentation, basically has made it too difficult to develop CM10 for it.
The Note 1 developers basically got fed up and quit until Samsung makes it more practical.
So no CM10 means no PA.
We can hope that a new developer takes the reigns, but as the other poster said: we're in for a long wait.

We have no official CM porters? since when are porters official its either original CM or ported CM
Anyways , atleast im more than 100% sure we WILL get ported cyanogen mod, and most probably PA too.
now ive used ported CM 10 on around 3 of other devices, and take my word if you havent tried it yet, a port totally depends on which device CM it is ported from. E.g. If we get ported cm 10, it will atleast be as much performing as CM 10 on S 3, whose hardware is resembling, because the porters will take as much help as they can from CM10 of S3...
And if CM10 may be ported, why not PA? its not like first CM has to be ported in order to port a PA second
Thats kernel source, not hardware sources, they are two separate things the CM team need both to make a fully working CM rom for this device (and any other modern Samsung device)
Hi all,
I'm an HTC fan, I love design and material first of all, I like Sense UI but I also like stock UI and AOSP roms ...
I'm coming from a Galaxy Nexus and previously I owned the legendary Nexus One ... I love Nexus line and I really would love a new HTC nexus device ... but it seems we won't see one for a long time ...
Well, I'm searching for an HTC One X and I would like to spend around 400$ (you can find some offer on Amazon) ...
Someone here owned both a Galaxy Nexus and a One X and can give me some opinion? Is it worth to switch from GN to HOX??
How is developer community? Are there fully working 4.2.1 AOSP roms? I looked at developer section and seems quite active ... do you think I will miss ParanodiAndroid ROM or other fantastic ROM (like Xylon) available for the GNexus??
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
thats easy...

Hi guys,
After few months I'm still attracted by the One X. I'm trading one on eBay for about 300€ used but in excellent conditions... I'm not impressed at all from new devices neither the Moto x nor HTC one and Galaxy S4 ... I still consider the one x the best in terms of design and materials ... And I still think that 1gb ram is enough for every kind of usage (I'm not a fanatic of mobile games) ...
So I'll be soon member of the HTC one x community that seems again one of the more lively ...
I currently have a HTC One and am thinking about selling it, pocketing most of the money and getting the Galaxy nexus. I really really want a stable AOSP build and the HTC one simply does not have one yet. What are your guy's opinion on making this switch? and how are the ROMS and Kernals for you guys?

Well since the One is better than the Nexus it would be a easy disicion for me. I think since the play store version is released the builds will come in in no time. I think it is only a matter of time before the aosp custom roms will come. The Galaxy Nexus has awesome kernel and ROM support since it is a Nexus phone. Some developers are leaving for the Nexus 4 but this phone is stille alive and there is plenty of development going on.

Read the rom/kernel Dev threads and see the comments. I suggest you wait, new nexus coming out. Meditate before coming back to the light (aka lite) side of the Force.
