I recently updated my phone to March security update and since then battery backup has reduced significantly. With screen on, battery is draining at a much faster rate. Even the battery graph is behaving strange. Sometimes it even resets after a reboot and shows some breaks in the graph line.

Thanks. Have already unlocked my bootloader. Battery backup has reduced dramatically. 15% drain per hour with screen on.

I'm also facing battery drain issue after update!
After the update, before you start older firmware, did you try doing a factory reset?

Hey, I did a reset yesterday and till now I am not seeing any difference. I know I should wait for few days and give some cycles before judging so I will wait.
I wanted to ask how much battery percent you loose over night ? And in what state is your phone at that time ? Like bother sims on, wifi connected, NFC on etc...

The only thing I have running at night is WiFi. I shut most things down, I put it in a Priority mode. I do seem to pick it a few times through out the night to look at things. Normally I see a 2-3% drop over night, but on most nights I keep it charging in a cradle next to me.
I have my phone hooked up to my car via Bluetooth and playing Google Music for about 6 plus hours during the day as I am driving around and only loose 15-20% during that time. I have been VERY impressed with the battery life I get off this phone.

That's awesome. I keep both of Sims active with one of them on 4g volte and the other on 2g. Over night drop is like 2-3% but when using phone backup isn't that great. Struggling to get 8 hours of sot and after a reset some audiomix wakelock is draining 8-10% battery overnight. I regret updating my phone.

I have not tried it since I have not unlocked my bootloader.
I've uploaded the March patch on its own, I don't think there is a full ROM that includes it.

Guys,
I just got the moto 360. The software currently is version: 4.4W.1 and Build: KGW42N.
Is this the latest update? if not, how can I get it the watch has not prompted any update.
Thanks
Currently the update coming is 4.4w2. It should be rolling out now. Just gotta be like us and wait it out lol. Still waiting here for me.
So is this the most recent update with the battery enhancing? Im confused. From the launch I believe there was one update where the battery life improved and now I hear a new one is coming out. Is mine without the first update?

You are running the same version as everyone else that has not received the update that is rolling out now
Isn't the build number suppose to end an a R, not an N? I just got the device too. My build number ends in N.

You should be on KGW42R. Try going to Settings>About>System Updates. You should have 80% or more battery to update.
This is the update rolling out now.

It is likely related to the new update that is slowly rolling out right now. In a day or two you should be prompted to update.

My battery life improved. went from 13 1/2 hours use at 37% to nearly 18 1/2 hours use ending at 40% (this is without ambient mode on). With ambient mode, I went from about 6 1/5 hours use ending at 50% to nearly 10 hours use ending at 40%. This is all with moderate use (just checking text messages, weather, and looking at the time). No heavy use (games or navigation). Haven't had any charging issues either. An issues I had before but not so much after the update, was the watch randomly putting itself on silent. I would get a text and feel the buzz (I keep my phone on vibrate at work) and then about 2 hours later when I look down at my watch, i'll see that I missed a notification because it turned itself on silent.

you are the 2nd person to confirm this to me..... I wonder if is only happening to tmobile edges since we have to use the wrong root file ??? or is happening to the other edges that have a correct root file ????
seems like I'll wait to root specially now with the built in battery
I decided to start fresh and will wait for a fix on this root issue. Hopefully it comes soon.
I can confirm this as well. My battery life is atrocious with everything disabled (google now, location, wifi, etc)...less than my Nexus 5 with everything enabled.
Same here

Here's a great guide if you guys decide to unroot and start over. Make sure you guys thank the OP of that thread.
I'm not sure how to actually confirm it for you, but my phone has been off charge for 2 hours, and I am at 98%.
I bought the phone on Friday, ran the OTA that popped up as soon as I powered on whilst still at the store, came home and rooted. Disabled a bunch more bloat, but the battery wasn't great. It was iPhone territory.
Yesterday, I started over with a full KiES install that included that OTA. I rooted again and then re-installed everything from TB. This has seemed to make a marked improvement. That said, tomorrow will be a true to test of the battery as It's a work day, I'm travelling, and I'll be roaming up in Canada.
This is very helpful - thanks! Please, if you think of it, let us know how Monday goes? Appreciate it!

I looked a little bit more through this thread and saw that CPU Spy app, so I ran it, and I am deep sleeping after root. Please do note, however, that I have WiFi set to always on, one of my email accounts in Nine is set to not sync at all during off-peak hours (which includes the weekend), and the other one only syncs every two hours during the same period.
I will definitely still update on Monday as it will be punishing.

I'm showing a consistent 50k on stock 5.0.1 debloated after a factory reset.

Hey guys, question. After I flash the NK3 firmware with Odin, Im getting stuck on a boot loop. I've already tried doing a factory reset and wiping cache and still have boot loop. Any other suggestions? My other option is flashing NIE firmware but Im not sure if I can update that to NK3 and then remove the system updater with debloater. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thank you.

Disregard the last post. I found out what was wrong. I needed to add all of the firmware files in the corresponding slots within Odin. Not just the AP slot. Thanks.
I have debloated my n4 as much as I dare on 5.0.1. And most days I make it from 9am-11pm easily. But that's with moderate usage. If I use the phone heavily, I struggle to make it to bedtime. Throw poor signal areas in, and all bets are off. And I still don't understand how screen doesn't make it into the top 4 on my battery usage list, even with 3+ hours of screen time.
I too like the 4.4 ui better. Especially notifications and recent apps. I would love to downgrade, but I am too skittish to flash a $700 phone. I'll flash $200 phones all day long, but I am not gonna risk bricking this one.

Dude, you're flashing it with Odin. You'd have to be very unlucky to brick your phone.

Link in the OP is dead. Anyone else have the NK3 file?
Ever since I switched to this rom my phone has been so much quicker in terms of responsiveness. The animations are snappier too.
Battery life however has been what I liked most about flashing this rom (naturally ?). My Edge has been off the charger for nearly 20 hours with Bluetooth on the entire time for Android Wear and a weird snapchat wakelock that maintained a network connection for 5 hours. Screen time was over 4 hrs. Still at 10% as I type this.
Much much better than stock ?

I manage just about barely 4 hours currently without Bluetooth on. Btw how did you manage to get Google services so low that it doesn't even show up in your battery stats? Mine is constantly on to with around 30% usage.

Yeah I'm gonna stick with 2.1 for now. As for my Google services not showing up in my stats, I couldn't tell you, I'm not doing anything different in particular. I leave sync on as well.

From what I've read you should be fine provided you follow the steps outlined in the rom's thread. If you've read otherwise then link me to it?

Unlocked Phones: If you have unlocked your phone, you might run into problems with 5.1.1. There have been reports of phones stuck in a boot-loop when upgrading from 5.0.2 -> 5.1.1 when the phone has been unlocked or EFS/IMEI has been tampered with. Combine this with the new "FRP LOCK" (Factory Reset Protection) in 5.1.1, and you might find yourself with a complete brick with no warranty. This issue may or may not have anything to do with rooting or custom firmware

How did you accomplish this stats?? At best I can only manage 4 hours with unibade on 2.2, with most push notifications and toggles off.

What do you think it is? I'm using the same ROM an kernel ans don't have battery issues. Maybe an app causing the drain? Flash RUU to see if it happens stock.
I had this problem, no matter what ROM kernel I used on both Nougat and Oreo. I replaced to battery and no more problems.
You know the HTC Diagnostic Guide App? (*#*#3424#*#*)
Well I tried to get a replacement battery by using the warranty.
So I tested the battery test on both, stock nougat and stock oreo.
Nougat was 96% after the test while oreo was already by 86%!
Sadly it has to be below 70%...

I don't know how this test is working. But since I needed these numbers for the support chat, I took this comparison.
Everything else I made is not really comparable.
But the drain es exactly why I am in contact with the support.
Everyday I get up, eat, play a little game, every time the same time, put music on ears and drive to university.
All in all about 20min SOT and 1h10min music playing, mainly screen off.
Before Oreo I was able to get over the day, after the mentioned time, I had way over 70% left, can't exactly say how much.
Since Oreo it was below 70% and I needed to recharge midday, when it already dropped below 50%.
I don't like the Idea of replacing the battery right now...
Maybe we will get another firmware update soon.
But checking other forums, Samsung S8(+) for example, they have similar problems. But many even say it better than on nougat.
Ist there any News About a filmware Update? I almost Cant Use the phone without having a Powerbank in my pocket
Don't really know, but it seems at least a security update is coming:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/unlocked-htc-10-update-updated-s-t3376329/page107
All of this happened to me six months ago. I was on stock MM (rooted, S-off). I went crazy studying Better Battery Stats and trying everything. At first it would go down do 50% after maybe an hour of Sot, then 30%.
Then I just started using it plugged in all the time and I couldn't get it above 20%.
Took it to someplace (like Ubrreakifixit or whatever) had battery replaced for ~$100 (which sucked), but that was the problem.
Just an FYI to OP and anyone else... I didn't want to believe it was the battery for a month and tried all other options.
But it's the battery.

It's not a firmware issue because every one on the same firmware would be experiencing it. Have you flashed a RUU yet to see if this all happens on stock? If so it's a hardware failure.
