Hey fellas,
I've been searching around trying to find a clear transparent skin for 3T, but found nothing. I don't really want to get a dbrand skin or anything. I just want a clear one to see and protect our beautiful aluminium design. Any experiences?
Try gadgetshieldz. Quite cheap, precise cutouts and does a good job in protecting the device
I'm using the matte one on the back. It looks like nothing has been applied.
I'm using the Nillkin Nature case. It'll give some more protection than the gadgetshieldz (well, hopefully), plus I hadn't to mess aroud with the stickers.
So far, I'm quite happy with that.
Got it for £6.99 on Amazon.

Where did you buy it from? I'm trying to find one but unable to find one
Yo, thanks you guys, already ordered the gadgetshieldz matte one. When I looked at their web initially i only saw same skins as dbrand, and didn't bother to look further. edirisinghe30's reply tho made me come back and chech again. and indeed it's quite cheap. Waiting for one to arrive. Can't wait
As for the clear case, I use it for months now. It's okay, but kinda hides the beauty of the metal. Also it started yellowing. I'd rather have my phone naked, but I'm afraid of scrathches. Whilst the demand for a wrap.
EDIT:
By the way, for those still looking, here's the link for a clear skin on gadgetshieldz.com
But this does not protect the phone from drops right?
Anyone tried to skin a black 3T? Nothing sticks to it. ?
Had to send my skin back. I used a Dbrand. But I know most sellers use the same 3m materials.

I have the midnight black with dbrand skin. and it is sticking well. Which part of the phone doesnt stick?
i just checked mine, the only part that didnt stick well is by the buttons. I didnt take much time on those areas to ensure it fold and hold.

The back sticks good with a decently amount of heat. The sides don't really stick at all. I ended up just razoring the sides off and left the back.

I have a black 3t and ordered white leather back skin with the top and bottom parts black leather and I noticed the folds on the edges didn't wanna stick so I put a case around it for a couple days and once I took it off they were stuck and haven't had a problem since. It's a dbrand skin as well. I also got a slim clear case so u can still see the skin on the phone and just gives little more added protection. I love this phone and I definitely don't want anything happening to it.

I've just been using the same third party ass transparent TPU cover for the entire time i had this phone. It began to discolor so i doodled on it with a permanent marker. It looks messy but it's protected the phone so well. No scratches or dents whatsoever.

Back and forth between cases for the HTC One or a back skin (Ultra Crystal Screen Protector on the front). I have a Poetic Atmosphere case on the way, but wanted to try out a skin to see how it feels, looks, etc.
Ordered a back skin in black and white from i.Carbons and installed the black as figured it would not show marks as much as the white. It really looks good and feels great. Reading the product info on the package is that it is 3M tape.
Goes on very easy and had to reset it a few times to get the corners even on both sides. Cut outs for the camera lens, flash and "HTC" logo on the back all line up pretty well and it really looks nice on. The back is a 3-piece set as there is one for the top, bottom and then the large one for the middle. I only got the back but you can also get the side and front (I believe but I only was interested in the back as I don't care for the carbon fiber look on the front/sides).
I hate to put the One in case as it just feels so nice without one but wanted to protect against scratches. I use thin cases usually, so I'm definitely not looking for drop protection with the cases I have used on past phones.
Have to wait and see if the edges peel up and how it wears overall once I have it on for a few weeks. Might try it in the poetic case since that's set to arrive Monday.
Couple of pictures if this type of protection is what you are looking for.
I think that looks great. When will you throw the white one on?

If you Google "icarbons coupon code" you should find some 15%-25% off code. When I ordered mine they were only running the 15% off but looks like they almost always have some type of code available if you spend 30 seconds on Google.

That carbon fiber looks really good, how was the texture before you put it in the Atmoshere? Was it more slippery than the aluminum?

Actually it provides better grip with the skin on than naked. The case is somewhat slick on the back but the tpu edging is softer so it seems to provide a fairly decent grip.
That looks **** hot. Just ordered a white one myself.
I just ordered the Black and Brushed Aluminum. You can use coupon code AT15 for 15% off your total order. I only ordered the back. They do look good. I had Ghost Armor on mine and pulled it off getting ready for these. Its looks terrible in comparison.

Wow, missed Brushed Aluminium. That looks awesome. Grabbed that instead of the white. Also thanks for the code.
PSA: Don't bother with getting side vinyl if you're planning on using it with the Atmosphere. Since it's so tight to begin with, it's almost impossible to get it on without peeling off the sides.
Well my poetic did not last long.

Looking for the best case to show off the Moto X, so I'm trying to find the thinnest clear (not frost!) case out there. Not worried about drops, just want basic scratch and scuff protection.
For reference, I have the Diztronic TPU clear case and the Minisuit clear case, but am looking for something more minimalist that will LEAST change the look of a naked X. Has anyone seen such a case?
I have the clear power support air jacket case. It's kinda expensive but it's thin & it has some sort of self healing coating that heals scratches. The only downside is that it makes your phone slippery.
I bought the Griffin Reveal Case. It has the clear back and is pretty thin. It's hard plastic with a softer rubber around the edge. The back scratches fairly easy, but I do not see them unless I take the case off and look for them. I had read this in reviews, but I'll live with it for the $12.50 I paid from their ebay store (price is higher now on ebay, though cheaper than amazon with shipping).
Ebay link
or
Amazon
I originally had a clear diztronic tpu case, which added a lot of bulk IMO. The Reveal case keeps more of the original feel of the phone.

do the scratches actually "heal"? I'm getting this case tomorrow, I'm undecided if I want to keep it or get another one...
I haven't scratched it on purpose to see but I've used it for a couple of weeks now and there are no visible scratches.

Same here. Been using it 2-3 weeks and there are zero scratches.
I have found, like others have said, that it is very hard to get off. It's a breeze to get on though.
Are there any truly transparent TPU cases? The Diztronic is frosted
Rocketfish TPU Case from BestBuy
What you need is the Rocketfish TPU case from BestBuy. It's what I've been using from day 1 of owning my Moto X, and it's pretty fantastic. 100% clear all round, and great to the touch. Covers the buttons as well, and has a good lip around the edges so you can put it face down. Go for it, you won't be disappointed. I'm surprised this case doesn't get as much publicity around here as it should.
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/soft-sh...&skuId=1645012&st=rocketfish moto x&cp=1&lp=1
I've been using the AirJacket for a while and really like it. As others have said, no visible scratches, good protection, and it doesn't feel particularly slippery to me. Also doesn't add much bulk. I don't like what it does to the feel of the buttons. Where before they were good and "clicky", now it's mushy, hard to press, and doesn't always respond. I've taken to pressing on them horizontally with my thumbnail instead. Could be I've had bad luck with mine, but I have been tempted to try modifying the buttons (scraping away some rubber to thin them out).
Hey guys!
Now I'm waiting for my walnut Moto X and trying to choose between Rocketfish TPU case and Air Jacket by Powersupport. Price doesn't matter on me. Understood from forums that air jacket has some self-healing coatin and dunno abt same issue in Rocketfish case.
What you guys think about it? What case might be your choise?
Thanks beforehand.
I think the two tone air jacket is not very appealing but it's all personal taste. If the rocket fish is like the diztronic but clear I'd go with that

You know I thought it was my eyes--mine seems to be looking a bit yellow too! Nice to see someone else has the problem and I am not seeing things. Dang it, I like this case too... Maybe I will try to soak it in something...like oxyclean or I don't know... something! If I am able to remove my yellowness I'll report back!
Please do
The rocket fish case looks great, the buttons are a bit stiff and it is relatively expensive from best buy. Still, it's the best truly clear case I've found.

Good luck, but don't be hopeful. I've had clear TPU yellow before. I think it's a chemical reaction from either light exposure or skin oils. I tried everything and it doesn't 'clean' up at all.

P.S I had a black cf skin on my Nexus 4 for a year and loved it, gotta get something for my black OPO as well
Just ordered a white carbon fiber front, red carbon fiber back, and white camera cutout. Stoked to see them on this device.
Going to order a red carbon fiber camera skin , will look good with my black official flip case

I ordered just the white carbon fiber back, and in my opinion, it looks light-years better than the Sandstone Black. The sides are uncovered by the sticker, so you still get a fair amount of grippiness on the sides. Now, my OPO literally turns heads when I put it on a table. I highly recommend it, despite the warnings. I'll post pictures if there's any interest.
Here is how the mahagony wood looks like. I have the sandstone back and it was very simply to put on. I used a hair dryer to apply.

Love the look of this! Two questions, I heard that the bumper potentially messes up the sides of your phone, is that correct? And will these skins cause the sandstone to wear out in anyway?

I had one for awhile and it worked great! I have a sandstone black too and it was fine. They give you alot of warnings not to use it on sandstone tho. I eventually took it off though. They only give you a back piece and it makes the sides look weird.
I recently ordered a skin for my OnePlus 2 (Sandstone back) from a local Indian site called GadgetShieldz which go by the name Skinnova. Its exactly as in more or less like dbrand skins, but I wouldn't know cause I havent tried them yet. I wanted dbrand but couldn't afford the shipping charges. And this was cheaper, only Rs 832 (approx $12).
It took about 2 days for them to deliver it and according to most videos I've seen applying them is exactly like you do for dbrand skins. These are also 3M standard. Application was fairly easy. My combo was White carbon-fibre for the front and back, blue sandstone for the OnePlus logo and brushed titanium for the camera metal. Even though I know dbrand is the best, but Skinnova is a worthy and able local replacement for anyone in India who can't afford or wait for it.
PS: A few extra options and textures would have been better but its very good and Don't forget to leave thanks if you found this useful
Hi. I'm a skinnova user too. I have the ebony wood applied to my phone from like 5 months now. It's awesome. It really feels like wood in hands and people often think that it's actually wooden. Go blindly when it's skinnova.

I'll answer that after I remove the ebony wood skin from the back. It didnt affect the metal frames. I had it applied there too.
I ordered too. Seems pretty promising, don't think the quality will be as good as dbrand's but the price really cuts it.
I ordered the silver one from gadgetshieldz.com with blue sandstone one plus logo and camera skin. Have to say the phone looks very good. The materials used are also top notch.
Application was easy, have not had any issue with it for over 2 + weeks now.
Feels nice to hold, grip is similar to what we have with Kevlar cover.
The side grip was a little rough during the first few days. But now it's not a problem.

Its made to last long, and plus the adhesive behind doesn't loosen so if you were to remove it you can easily put it back on with the help of a hairdryer and repeating the same process. I used mine for almost 7-8 months before getting tired of it, but it didn't peel back or loosen because of dust build up. Go for it.
Also if you need and alternate, Amazon India has currently discounted the StyleSwap covers(Rosewood, Karbon, Apricot) for just Rs.299, ATM I'd suggest you take advantage of this deal. (considering Rs1700 was overkill )
I've never used a skin/wrap before and bring averse to bulky cases I thought I might give them a try.
If you've used them before I'd like to know more about your experience: ease of application, residue after removal, durability/longevity, feel and overall satisfaction.

I've used them. I like them but almost always wind up taking them off - don't really know why honestly. I didn't think anyone was shipping yet for the Pixel 2 but I could be wrong. My thoughts
Easy to apply, use a hair dryer and be patient
No residue after removal
No issues with longevity. They seem to stick around. Sometimes at the beginning you get a lot of dirt trapped along the edges but that goes away.
The biggest thing for me is grip and honestly none of the regular skins offer anything meaningful. Even the dragon one from Dbrand which was supposed to be super grippy didn't feel noticeably different to me than a regular skin. Dbrand has a narrow scoped, predictable, good product and great customer service. Meaning, they aren't offering crazy variety but just offering what they know works reliably. SlickWraps goes out of their way to make unique textures and materials such as natural wood and leather. Many people have had a ton of CS issues with them though. My favorite skin of all time is Alcantara from SlickWraps as it is soft touch and grippy but it does not go all the way around and also is rather thick.
I usually wind up with something like Peel as a case.

My first time trying a wrap. I'm not a fan of cases. But this just feels and looks like I have a sticker on my phone - especially on the curved backside corners.
It also collects fuzz like crazy. I'll be pulling mine off when my case gets here, out maybe just leave it on in my case.

Unless you go the natural selection, they are literally stickers lol. That fuzz collection will stop once the residual adhesive on edges fades

I just wanted to add my feedback on the dbrand dragon skin.
The dragon skin has a really nice leathery feel and definitely adds grippiness to the phone.
However, the one down side of using a full back + side skin is that because the physical power and volume buttons don't protrude very much from the phone, you kind of lose the tactile feel of them.
Kind of torn as to keep or peel it off. It is kind of weird not to be able to feel the power and volume buttons
Anyone get anything like Alcantara yet?

It also collects fuzz like crazy. I'll be pulling mine off when my case gets here, out maybe just leave it on in my case.

Do you get the sense that a case would fit over the skin? I'm considering one, but wouldn't necessarily want to remove and ruin it if I opted for a case afterward.

I used the spigen case over the dbrand skin for a couple days and it fit just fine. However, I decided I preferred no case - the dragon skin feels really nice with great grip.
One thing I do recommend from dbrand is to get a glass skin (or use the bonus one that's included) in addition to your normal full skin. The doubling up (or even tripling) of skins on the glass section make it just high enough to clear the stupid camera bump, and hopefully help prevent it from scratching when putting your phone on it's back.
I prefer clear TPU skins. They add significant grip on your hands and don't slide on flat surfaces. Plus, they are clear so you don't hide the phone's design.

Yikes. I've never seen anything like this. I believe I've had both Dbrand and SlickWraps, and both have been great, no fuzzies, and go on clean and tight. I had a nice light and dark wood (stickers only) for my Note5. I also have a real leather one that I never used, and may try to "mod" it for my Pixel 2 XL that's in the mail (so excited!!). I hate to see that nice leather go to waste. But it probably won't match up well and will probably look super-wanky. We'll see.
And the Pixel 2 looks like it may have the Nexus 5 soft matte back, am I wrong? Skins may not stick quite right, as opposed to the glass-back of the Note5.
(edit: just realized we have a Pixel 2 XL forum as well. I thought they'd just use one, but apparently dev is diff for each? Interesting...)
Love my red panda
Here my Dbrand with color G logo.
