Hi guys,
Is there a way to select LTE only mode ? i tried the famous *#*#4636*#*# but it seems not effective.
I solved it by switching the sim card to slot One

Hi,
I'm from Germany and went on Holiday recently to Singapore and Australia. There I bought prepaid SIM cards for internet access. Now that I've returned and use my german SIM again, my phone can't enable the data connection anymore.
I've attached the *#*#4636#*#* phone info screen. I already tried factory reset, reflashed a radio image and new rom - and still the problem remains. I also tried all the different radio band settings (see second screenshot). It always says "fail because Radio Not Available).
I didn't flash or change anything on my holiday trip, so I'm really out of ideas. I hope someone can help me.
Thanks
Björn
Set network type to GSM and try again.
SwiftKeyed from dGB with Transparent XDA App
error message stays the same, also tried the other network type options, always the same
I just tried a SIM from a firend of mine, and with that one everything works normal.
So it seems to be a problem with the sim card. I guess I will just get a replacement SIM.
Good day! I just want to ask if anyone has an idea of how to solve a weird and sudden problem that happened to my phone a few days ago.
I was running Cyanogenmod R16 with Xcelerate kernel.
I use two SIM cards on my phone, but I do not use the first slot all the time, so when I'm not using it, I regularly disable it through the SIM card settings, and enable it only when I need it.
What happened is, when I tried to enable it, suddenly both my SIM card slots could not be recognized (The SIM card settings could not be accessed; and error says: "SIM card info not available. Menu cannot be accessed"). In the lockscreen, it says: "INVALID CARD." for both SIMs.
I tried both restoring a backup and going back to stock MIUI, but still, the problem was there; none of the SIMs could be recognized (I tried using other SIM cards too.)
My IMEI's for both SIM slots are fine.
I've looked up on other forums, but I haven't found any others with a similar problem on the Redmi 1S.
If anyone knows what I need to do to fix this, I need your help. Thank you very much.
Have you tried both sim in other phone..?
If yes,and both working then should be problem with your imei!

Yes, I've tried both SIM's on another phone, and they work fine.
Since my phone still shows both IMEI's when I look for it, I assumed that there's no problem with them. What are possible problems that concern IMEI's? So that I can look up on general IMEI problems.
Thank you very much!
May be this can help friend

Thanks for the reference. Backed up my IMEI and Restored it right after, but still no change. Still, thanks!
EDIT: I've already tried two newly bought SIM cards, and the problem is still present.
Was this solved? Happening to me right now..
Happening to me too... Unsolved
For me just blowing in the sim slot & reboot fixed after few times..
if you have TWRP backup your modem & efs partition, just restore it via twrp. it worked for me
Hello,
I have a similar problem.
SIM2 is not recognized at all. I can use SIM1 only.
Tried to switch the SIM cards and still SIM2 is not recognized.
Both SIM cards are working great on other phones.
Is it OS related issue?
I've got same problem. Try to clean the sim metal contacts carefully and gently with an alcohol and qtip or tissue. It solved my problem.

i have lg g3 dual d856
its official 5.01
now rooted
stock recovery
sim 1 has option for 4g 3g and 2g
sim 2 slot is for 2g only
i was using sim 1 for 3g and sim 2 for calls
but latter on i got some free 3g data on sim 2
i physically swapped sim slots of sims for using 3g of sim 2
now my sim 2 was in 4g/3g/2g slot of phone
and sim 1 was in 2g slot of phone
upon reboot i was unable to use 3g on sim one
while selecting manually error was shown that sim 2 is in wcdma mode ...
now mannual searching for networks in sim 1 only showing gsm signal
while sim 2 showing 3g networks
restart reboot nothing worked
factory reset solved the issue
but again upon swapping sims phone was stuck in gsm mode on both sim
again factory reset did the job .....
an y one else having this issue ?
Only work around is downgrade to kitkat....

I'm having the same issue. For me factory reset didn't fix it. However, now slot 2 runs 3g/4g while slot 1 is stuck in 2g, so I just put my data sim into the slot marked 2G (which now runs 3G/4G) and my other sim into the slot marked 2G/3G/4G (which now runs only 2G), and that works just fine. The 2G/3G/4G setting for slot 1 does nothing now, and there's no such setting for slot 2, but the latter is running 3G/4G anyway, so I'm ok with that.

which firmware are you on?
one work around is switch both sims to 2g then replace sim and re boot ....
factory reset while both sim are removed
but i think this issue is not present in official 6 update.

Slot 1 is already stuck at "GSM only" and slot 2 doesn't have that setting at all, so not really sure how to do that.
download flash latest firmware LGD856 v20c from here
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=41
back up your data ( all data will be erased )
remove sd card
remove both sims
flash it ( for guide search in forum )
after booting turn on phone use it for while and again factory reset it
now put both sims and it will be normal again i.e sim for 2g 3g and lte and sim 2 for 2g
one bug i have noted in v30b firmware that if we search mobile network in manually it will return error but auto network search will work normally

Is there some reason not to flash version V30C instead? Will I have a problem rooting it?
(Actually I seem to have lost root somehow in my current setup as well, I really need it back..)
Humm
For root i won't recommend it .....

I've installed crDroid running android 7.1.1 and now both my sim slots support 4G.
Hi everyone.
Recently I have had some issues where sim cards are not working on my phone. At first I thought it was an issue with the sim cards but when I tried the sim in a different phone, it worked fine. I tried numerous restarts, taking the sim out and placing it back in (in case there was an issue with the contacts/sim tray) but this has not solved the issue. By chance I was looking at the phone identity menu and noticed that the IMEI and the IMEI SV fields both say unknown but the device serial number is fine.
I restarted the phone into download mode and checked the System info menu and IMEI number is displayed there but for some reason it is missing in the actual android OS hence I cant connect to the mobile network to make calls etc.
This all started recent after I had come back from abroad (had been using a foreign sim) and tried to use my UK sim. Up until that point, the phone worked fine with the UK and foreign sim. After inserting my UK sim, there was no signal. I got home and tried the sim in my other phone and it worked fine.
I have not modified the phone in anyway (other than flashing an official RUU to fix a boot loop issue - see here ) and it is boot locked and not rooted. After fixing the bootloop issue, I have applied all available OTAs that my phone detected automatically which upgraded the android version to 7.0 (OS 4.28.401.3).
I have tried factory resetting using the menu (not recovery mode) and this has not solved the issue. Any ideas as to how I can fix this IMEI issue?
Many thanks
Rob
Have you checked the apn settings are correct?. Have you checked other UK sim cards in your device that are known to be working?. Do you use a simcard adapter?.

Yep.. tried other simcards thats work in other phones but they wernt working on my phone.. most likely due to the missing IMEI. I also noticed that the colour of the icons on the pulldown tray were red instead of blue and the phone was sluggish when toggling wifi on and off or entering/leaving Airplane mode.
I managed to fix the issue in the end by downloading an RRU and flashing it from SD card. Everything works ok now.
Thanks for your contribution :good:

Hi all,
I'm looking to use this smartphone as car meultimedia system and GPS navigator
The idea is to use a spare sim 3g data only
Unfortunately the device reboots once the network is locked and the network operator is displayed
I've tried in both slots, with stock android 10 and a custom rom but the issue is the same
any idea how to fix it?
Thanks
