Have to send my phone back, but don't remember the CID number that was on the phone. I restored the original backup of the rom (1.32.405.6), and got s-on again, but I don't know how to find out what the original CID was, as I had on super CID (111111). I am trying to flash the original RUU (1.32.405.6) so I can get rid of clockwork etc, but keep getting error 155. Any help would be apriciated, as I have to send it back in for a HW failure.
What state did you receive the phone? Unbranded or locked to a network?
You can find what CID you should have in This Post.
bought it through chess here in norway, but its not simlocked or anything. guess ill just try out htc__001, but don't think thats what it was before. but the only other i found that i tought was worth trying was for norway, which was h10, but im 95% sure thats not it either, and thats the one i used when i got the error.
tried again with the unbranded id (htc__001), and got error 131 now.. still trying to flash the same rom which is already on the phone with the ruu exe file..
If you still have the part7backup file, created by the Radio S-Off tool, just open it with a hex editor, XIV32 for example (just a random one I used myself), and search it for HTC, if you think the CID started with HTC etc.
That's how I found my CID from the backup file at least

where can i find the part7backup file?
ok, apparently i lost that file when i made the ext3/4 partitions :s
the part7backup file i found is only 2 days old, and contains the cid i put manually :\
any way to just flash the stock ruu so i get rid off clockwork etc? guess ill just have to rely on them not checking that or something :s
When you have Radio S-OFF and SuperCID, you should first flash the original rom, and then remove Radio S-OFF and restore original CID.

problem is I don't remember the original CID, but I guess ill just put the unbranded cid (001) and hope for the best?
Yeah, you should try "HTC__001".
By the way, when you start RUU, rom.zip appears to your PC temp folder. Open that zip, and you will see a text file among other files. The text file contains compatible CIDs.

thanks followed your advice, and restored radio s-off, supercid etc, and reflashed the rom. when i go back to s-on and cid htc__001, it is ready to be sendt in for service, right? or do i have to do something more?
Yeah should be ready to go to service
After S-ON I would do a factory reset to wipe every single trace of Visionary, just to be sure.

Hi to all bros,
I have hboot 0.93 and rooted using un-revoked. Now there's something wrong with the hardware and need to send it for servicing, so i need to un-root it. i tried using the ruu but to no success because of the hboot version i guess. Any idea?
thanks in advance.
Pretty sure you have to use the goldcard method, as your hboot version is newer than the one you are flashing.

Your insert your gold card in your phone and you launch the Ruu from your computer, it will be a success

Hi I have the same problem. im using 0.93 locked to t-mobile, I tried the goldcard on the only Ruu that matched which was non of the t-mobile ones and it failed customer ID error, I have also tried the downgrade method and it failed on CID check I have redone the goldcard several times and still no joy.
currently I have reloaded the t-mobile Rom recovery file from clockworkmod I backed it up on root before I flashed a custom rom and bellow is the version numbers im using atm.
hboot 0.93
Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
Software 2.12.110.4
I also loaded stock Rom 2.2 with the latest software 2.29.405.2 and .5 using the same baseband and both errored out Im only a novice at this and Ive prob spent a day in total and a load of dead end results on forums, pulling my hair out on this as I dont understand some of the terminolgy at best of times and all I get is "like the above" yeah it will work doing this. I have tried everything and nothing works ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
Just download and install the newest OTA-Update by T-Mobile. After this procedure your phone should be un-rooted.
Just tried that and it says signature check fail. so that didnt work either.

Toggle the signature verify in recovery-mode and try to flash again there.

Error 131: Customer ID Error
Maybe im using the wrong RUU? any idea? i using RUU_Bravo_HTC_WWE_1.15.405.4_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4. 05.00.11_release_122704.exe

Yes, this error means, your are using the wrong RUU. You really have to use a RUU from T-Mobile, your software-number (2.12.110.4) clearly shows this. So in your RUU name has to be the combination "TMO_UK". And do not forget to compare the radioversion.
I did the exactly that ^^^ after finally getting the goldcard to work, it loaded through the whole process of loading the T-mobile uk ruu and now my phone is buggered I get a blank screen it vibrates on and the keys light up. now its flashed the whole thing, its wiped my recovery so I cant even enter blind and reload previous Rom.
I dont think I can fix this as Unrevolked wont work as phone is stuck in usb charge mode. Ive have no idea how to fix this as it seems very few people have 0.93 hboot with blank screen issue as well as getting 130 or 140 errors on every ruu exept the t-mobile ones that buggered my phone in the first place. All ive returned on a fix is load anouther exe ruu and reflash but I cant because it errors 130 cid on all of them.
plz help I have no idea what to do.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING PROPER RUU... GSM FOR GSM PHONE CDMA FOR CDMA PHONE
run the ruu but do not continue and do not close...
go to temp folder where files extracted and copy or move rom.zip to desktop
(tmp folder varies for windows operating system.. windows xp C:\documents and setting\(user folder)\local settings\tmp\(folder with letters and numbers.. just look in them) )
rename rom.zip PB99IMG.zip and move to root of sd card
boot into hboot;(With power off hold down volume button and press power; do not release volume down untill screen lights up).. wait for parsing file then press volume up to confirm install files.
it will reboot and continue do not pull battery!!
Hi guys,
Hoping someone can help, have bricked my Australian Optus stock One X. I have tried to follow all threads related to loading stock or custom roms from fastboot and am unable to. I still have CWM recovery 5.8.2.7 touch installed.
I had previously rooted it and installed Android Revolution HD 5.1.0 and seemed to be fine but was unstable and would crash and reboot in certain apps. In trying to revert back to stock I stupidly formatted the SD card, DUMB ASS!
I have downloaded stock rom 1.29.401.7-DUO, all-in-one rootkit, and the ARHD ROM and have tried to either:
1) flash ARHD with bootloader still unlocked, doesn't work
2) follow reflashing stock process ie flash stock recovery, relock bootloader, then flash stock ROM, and am getting stuck on just reflashing the stock recovery. When I try to open stock recovery it takes me to a black screen with a red ! in a triangle, this is with the bootloader relocked.
If anyone is able to help an enthusiast noob like me I'd be very appreciative and would also be more than willing to donate for the trouble.
MAKE SURE you have exactly the right RUU for your phone, whatever the rom was on you were using, ie, 1.26, 1.28, 1.29, you need the same version of RUU, i discovered the problem trying to flash RUUs and after 2 days finally got the correct one, thats when i realised, unlike on other phones, you cant downgrade the One X and when recovering it seems to prefer the one that matches what you were using.
Also make sure youre cid is supported in that RUU, ie, HTC 001, TMOB 054, etc etc, mine can only accept 401 roms, so they must match exactly, until we can get S-Off this problem will remain, dont worry about recovery, so the guide on in case of disaster, you cant go wrong with it, relock your bootloader and get your RUU installed, from their update it to your latest ics version and then if you must reflash your cwm and root it.
Thanks for the info, graemeg. After downloading an RUU that was .exe file, I felt I was getting closer, as it was an AU Optus RUU. But it turns out that my current version is 1.28.980.10 and the RUU version was 1.26.980.3 and so yes I met with the non-downgrading issue.
It seems that there is not currently a stock 1.28.980.10 RUU at the moment, so might be using this as an ornament for much longer than I would have hoped/thought. Bummer.

You can get 1.28.980.10 from htcdev downloads. I would link but I'm a new user, just filter by One X, Optus, and it's there.
Thanks again for the help. I have seen those files on htcdev website, but don't know how to use them
I don't know how to load a RUU that is not a .exe file...if anyone is able to assist, again, I would really appreciate it and will donate once up and running again.
Edit: I just wanted to add that I have tried to follow the thread that explains how to load/flash recovery and boot images via fastboot in command prompt, and have not been able to. So I don't think I'm a complete dumb ass, but do need someone with the knowledge and patience to guide me through it. Please!
First thing first, do you have the right RUU with you ?
If not, maybe this is the one for you : http://hoxroms.serveftp.com/RUU_END...Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_258004_signed.exe
second: do you have fastboot directory set up on your pc ? and htc usb driver too ?
Just starting the download now, I think that could be the RUU I've been looking for. Yes I have the drivers and fastboot directory. Will give this RUU a go and let you know, thanks for the quick reply, ckpv5!
Most important before you run the RUU, you need to:
1) have a stock recovery flashed to you your device first (I believe you already have one)
2) relock the bootloader - fastboot oem lock
3) run RUU, it should work.
THANK YOU!
ckpv5, thank you for the link to the updated RUU. Phone is functioning again, stock. Donation coming your way. Thanks for all your help. agentorange82.
Hi I've been searching for days and have always been able to find answers but this one has got me.
My gf has a HTC Desire HD, pretty sure it's Vodafone since she works there. Tried to do a normal update a while ago and it never started since, just sits on the HTC logo. I can boot into fastboot hboot recovery and all that but I'm stuck as to what to do from here.
I have found a couple of WWE RUU's but the error out with a CID error, I've also found a Vodafone backup someone took from clockwork but this phone only has stock recovery and I don't know how to flash clockwork without being able to boot the phone.
Hoping someone might have an easy answer, please let me know if I need to provide more details.
Thanks.
If its rooted just place a rom on the sd and flash it with full wipe. You are not suppose to accept OTA updates if the phone is rooted if Im not mistaken. If not rooted then go to HTC websight and get the official RUU and install, instructions should be on websight.

Get me the CID and Iwill provide u with a ruu that works...VODAFONE from where? not all ruu's are available, but at least we can find one that makes your phone back to work...:good:
Unfortuanately it isn't rooted, I probably would've had more luck by now if it was.
I can't see the CID on the bootloader is there a command on fastboot or something to find this? I've been searching but can't find anything.
Sorry I thought of that afterwards, it's Vodafone Australia.
Thanks for the replies guys!
I just tried that European RUU thought I didn't have anything to loose but it came back with ERROR 132 Signature Error.
The Australian HTC site doesn't have a RUU to download that I can see.

yep, do the following: boot in hboot and choose fastboot. Then plug the phone (check that you see fastboot usb in red)
Open cmd as admin or a terminal as root and then, type fastboot getvar all. Get the INFOcidnum and paste it here. With that I will try to find a ruu that works. But stop trying flashing other things...you might mess the device.
Hi

Solution!!
Ok firstly sorry it's taken me ages to post this but I finally came up with a solution to this problem using a few different guides and instructions on these forums.
So the problem was I had a Vodafone AU branded HTC Desire HD that had no root and a locked bootloader that was stuck in a bootloop after a failed official update. The main problem is that there is NO stock recovery ROM ANYWHERE for a Vodafone AU HTC Desire HD, trust me I looked and I am not new to looking for stuff like this. glevitan provided me with a WW ROM that I managed to get working with a bit of work, there are also many WW ROM's around that you should also be able to use. I'll try to explain as best I can as to how I got it to work (going from memory) so if anyone else has a similar problem they may be able to use this information.
1. Firstly find a suitable WW ROM to flash, it needs to be a PD98IMG.zip image to copy to an SD card. There is a Vodafone AU dump on this forum but that will not work if you are completely stock standard. I think you can get this zip from the RUU or maybe ask glevitan if he wouldn't mind helping in providing this again. I didn't want to link to his file but there are others around.
2. Create a goldcard. If you turn your SD card into a goldcard it will allow any ROM to be flashed, normally it would only accept the Vodafone AU one but by doing this it will accept the WW one. To do this I used a second phone to create the card.
I used the Ultimate multi tool which can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1180639
You may have to do a bit of reading on getting it to work, from memory you have to put in a number to a website to generate a file, I think I ended up using a different website, there's a few options in getting this done, google is your friend for this
3. Once the goldcard is created copy the PD98IMG.zip to the root directory and put it back into the phone.
4. Turn on the phone and boot to hboot by holding vol up (I think) on power on. The phone should automatically check for a suitable PD98IMG.zip file and as long as the goldcard process worked and you have a suitable ROM on the root directory it should flash it fine.
This is basically what I did and it successfully booted after a lot of looking around. I hope this helps people in the future with similar problems. If you need to ask any questions about this process as I haven't provided every single detail please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to help you out.
Thanks again to glevitan for helping and providing a suitable ROM to flash.
To sum up i wanted to wipe the date and i "accidentaly"(how can be accidentantaly?well i am an idiot) delete the os of my htc m9. I was stucked in the starting logo for ages.I have acess to download and recovery mode.I tried to flash a custom rom i found in the forums using the twrp all went good it flashed the rom. When it reached the part where it says android application updating 0-189 it did everything. After that it kept showing me the htc logo i could restart shutdown lock and power up and down the volume but nothing else and the logo kept in front.Any idea?can it be fixxed?s-on.Thanks for your time

Have you read through the readme thread? One of your previous posts referenced ODIN, which is a Samsung tool. If you've read through the readme thread we will have a common foundation of understanding - and you may discover the solution to your problem there.
It sounds like you need to flash a RUU to your phone. The pre-requisites and guide to doing so are laid out in the readme thread. If you have any questions after reading through it, please post them here and we'll help out as best we can.

Which RUU are you exactly trying to flash (link it please)? What's your current firmware version? Have you checked the MD5 checksum of the downloaded file? What's the size of the SD card you're using? What's its format?

i followed the guide its 32 giga exfat. My firmware is 3.35.401.12 and i am trying to install this one https://pa1.androidfilehost.com/dl/...1_U11440792_97.00.51203G_F_release_signed.zip
That RUU got successfully flashed by S-ON users in the past and it's the correct one for your current firmware. So either the file got corrupted during the download (you didn't mention whether the MD5 checksum matched) or your SD card is broken.

I actually won't answer in this thread, anymore. You already got told to read the ReadMe thread and to follow its instructions. That thread clearly explains how to find the correct RUU and how to flash it. Besides, it tells you not to (re-)lock the bootloader and why you shouldn't do so.
If you ignore all these information and prefer to try out wrong RUUs and to relock your bootloader then there's nothing I can do for you.
