is there any type of screen protector material for the chrome on the camera? I hear it gets scratched very easily
Maybe Zagg will make one. Most reviewers see how it scratches so easy.
AT&T will sell the Zagg full body at least. I'm going to try to cut out a custom fit from reg screen protector.
That's a pretty small piece to protect. Knowing Zagg, it'll be $10 + shipping for just that piece.
Alternatively, you can get a silicon skin for the whole phone which I heard fits pretty snug and doesn't add a lot of bulk.
I just bought the gel case and it keeps the back of the phone off the objects you lay it on

People just cut out a piece of clear packaging tape and put it over then chrome! I did just that
Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express
I used Incipio case and so far the chrome hasn't been scratched even though it's not completely covered.
food wrap film will do it
I bought the skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector. It protects every part of the phone including the chrome. Got if from amazon. Might be something to consider.

I got the full body protector from Zagg for $9 + s&h, off of Amazon. I also have & love the silicon skin, can barely tell it's there.

Awesome idea.... Gonna go and do that now. Thanks man!
The store employees repeatedly offered me a "cleaning pad" that stuck to the back side of the phone. They put it on the camera metal. They would come take it off to wipe the screen and then just replace it on the back over the camera metal again.
I just got the Skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector, and slapped it on. It looks good, but the quality of the clear screen protector is pretty bad. Not as noticeable when the phone is on, but could be much better. The warranty is lifetime, so I might get another. The carbon look parts look really good, and should protect against normal use.
. Ps, the clear screen protector hadn't dried yet. Now it looks fine. The carbon look is pretty cool..
The guys on this thread who have the Skinomi full body protectors, can you post some photos of it applied to the phone?
I'm in the UK and have a white 900,so I want to see which bits of the phone don't get covered by the skin as the bright white would be very noticable if there are fitment gaps.
I'm actually on my 2nd handset in a week as the buttons on the first one were loose and rattly. However, on that first handset the camera chrome got scuffed in just 2 days even though I kept the phone wrapped in a screen cleaning cloth. I've left the OEM protective film on my new one until I have something permanent, just like the OP has asked for.
As selection of colours for a chrome protector would be cool too. Hopefully someone will come up with this on eBay before long In the meantime I'll cut up a 'generic' screen protector into a make-shift skin for the chrome.
IGG full body protector also covers the chrome on the camera. The only cutout on the back cover is for the camera lens hole and the LED flash hole.
I'm using mine under the black cover so the shiny look isn't a bother for me. Just looking to protect the back from being scratched by the case (or debris that gets between the OEM case and the phone body) which I've seen happen on an N9.
I'm going to make one from a spare screen protector I have. I've just checked an the camera hole is the same size as you get from a hole-punch....so I've got a screen protecter here with me in the office today
Here's my temporary solution, a Nokia cover, a strip of electrical tape and a hole punch.
I'll try to get a decent one cut out so that I don't need to cover it up with the bumper. I may also see if a printing company I've worked with in the past would be able to knock up a few sheets of clear, single-coloured and maybe patterns or designs. Chances are it'll be too expensive, but it can't hurt to ask the question.
Bleh. The chrome on my camera is all scratched up. I hate how it's curved.
Since there don't seem to be any tempered glass screen protectors that cover the entire screen and stick properly to the curved edges, I'm looking for the next best option.
What is the best protective film for the V20?
So far, I have come across these two on eBay:
1. Nillkin HD Clear Crystal Transparent Thin Phone Screen Protector Film For LG V20
2. 2x Mikvon Armor Screen Protector for LG V20 Retail Package with accessories
Anyone have experience with either of these protectors? Are they worth buying?
I tried to find Skinomi on eBay but shipping to my country is not available.
Note. International shipping is important.

Yes I did but the shipping costs are way too high, at U$9.95 + U$4.00 it would cost more to ship to my country than the cost of the screen protector itself.
I got this one and it rocks! It goes all the way to sides and it doesn't attract fingerprints, without compromising the screen quality!

The Armorsuit screen protectors have always treated me well. They seem to be clearer/have less of a "fuzz effect" than the others I've tried. They're wet application if that matters to you. I personally think it makes the process easier.

Mikvon goes from edge to edge. However it does not stick to the top and bottom curve of the phone. You will have a gap and it slowly collect dust. Also if you have a case, it might push on to the SP on the side.

Is this wet application? How much room is on the side? I use spigen case and looking for screen protector that doesn't interfere with it.
If the screen protector goes from edge to edge it has tendency to be peeled off by case.
Also does it cover entire screen from top to botton included lg logo?
Not a wet application. Just a dry one - you'll get quite a bit of bubbles but they clear up within a day. It's got about 1mm at the sides, cutting it a little close - slight off and you'll have that halo issue which I solved by snipping a bit off whichever corner.

So far, I haven't seen such a problem. No dust or lint collecting on the sides. but like I mentioned, slight alignment issues and you'll probably have to trim it off using a cuticle scissors or something - that's what I did. :good::good:
Here's a video for reference. Pardon the quality, I got the cam for christmas so just fooling around with it.

It's definitely better then the Mikvon I got. The ads say "gold..." and the pic shows a tint of gold?? Don't see that in the video though, so it's just a normal TPU SP?

The gold is just the top film used during application. It's really just clear. Not too sure how a TPU SP is like but I reckon yes, it's just a normal clear version.
One word of advice, don't try to remove the cut-outs when you're removing film 1, leave it there, it's easier to remove that way - I learnt that the hard way.
Here's it now, the bubbles are pretty much gone and I haven't done anything specific to it. Perhaps playing some swiping games pushes the bubbles away

Bump. Anyone find anything yet? Tried the highly recommended skinomi and that thing is crap. If you want to feel like you're touching an inner tube for a bike (minus the dirt) enjoy. But I can't stand that rubber feel. Ordered a different PET type from Amazon, hasn't come yet but hoping I'll have luck. Wet installations suck. And absolutely hate tempered glass. So, anyone have any PET type protectors to recommend that cover the whole screen?
Found one. Non-tempered glass, no orange peel feel, fits perfectly. 5$ on Amazon. Orzero LG V20 Screen Protector https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GO1YXFQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3r5XybWYKE83Q

Nope, dry install. If centered correctly upon installation, it is complete full coverage. My tip is to get a deep steam in your bathroom, and make sure your hands are clean. I have no lifting from my case and I got a case that the phone slides into. It has been perfect since install. Only 1 comes in package, but lifetime warranty. I highly recommend it.
where can i buy some sort of screen protector or sticker for the rear camera? i don't have the plastic on it anymore and i don't like the idea how it's protectionless. For my Galaxy Note 4, the plastic fell off recently somehow and I was barely able to cover it using a spare screen protector, but it didn't stick well.
If i can't find anything for this phone , im thinking of either using tape or stickers from the dollar store or walmart.

Right now, I taped the glass part of the camera and cut out wholes for the camera lens, so it doesn't affect the quality lol. very getto but it seems to work, but i'm 1/4 finished. I did this to my Note 4 too yesterday.
https://imgur.com/a/3fzBdBg
for your first link, I don''t really like the idea how with the camera glass, it still means that the lens is ****ting the surface first and putting the pressure on it. in your opinion, how scratch resistant is it and does it affect the camera quality? I wish they made one like that but inverse so it covers everything but the lenses itself .
I might buy the dbrand camera skin, it seems to be what i'm looking for.
I bought a few of these from eBay. They aren't slippery like the bumper you get with the phone. Very easy to hold onto. I recommend this. Best $2 I have spent and free shipping. Will take 3 weeks or so to receive it since it comes from China.

Does the fully transparent one pick up fingerprints and smudges? I don't like the way the original one does, it's my pet peeve.
On my previous phone I used to have a hard TPU case, and that one was great, no fingerprints whatsoever, and it was almost fully transparent to show off the phone design.
I got a hard case for the Note 7, but the one I received fits really really tight (I almost broke a nail trying to get the phone out of it). I decided against using it because the bottom edges have two roughly cut parts (that enable the phone to slide into this really tight case) that will surely ruin my pants/pockets in no time. The edges are very rough in those parts even when you just slide your finger across.

That seems like a good case but does the rim on the front bump up a bit to protect the screen from touching when flipped?

It's flush with the cameras.
The camera protection worries me a little on phone cases, It's a shame there are no camera protection accessories available.
I have seen a picture (I think) on the kimovil website of some single sided adhesive stuck on the phone case just near the rear camera to protect it but it looks messy

Maybe it's an issue with reflections? That's probably why cases themselves don't offer camera protection. Interferes with the flash probably.

I grabbed this from Gearbest earlier. Thanks for the heads up!
5$ case, 3$ protector camera (in my City)
I just bought this silicone case blue with suede on the inside, it is very comfortable to use, and for the camera this aluminum protector that looks great
I'm using a cheap XUNDD bumper case. It has thick corner bumpers with a clear polycarbonate back to show off that lovely glass finish and also pick up fingerprints. Most importantly, there's a camera surround that protects the camera lens from being scratched if I put the phone down on a table.
It's not heavy and it makes the phone much easier to hold. The clear back does pick up fingerprints but it's easy to clean. I'd rather have a greasy-looking back than a shattered rear panel, no thanks to Xiaomi stupidly using glass on the back for no reason other than aesthetics.
This one is the Nillkin full case, yes it's 4.50€ but is the best one you can use on this phone.
It has a camera protection edge and bumpers on the corners.

Let us know how good they are after hearing about the camera being shattered on there own i didn't want to take that chance at the moment I'm using a Spigen Hybrid Neo Case that i won. If you drop your phone, its going to be 50/50 whether you break anything. Just don't drop your phone.
I would recommend a glass protector as the addition of a skin can reduce the brittle effect and absorb a lot of the forces
There are a lot of people also saying the glass broke without them doing anything. TBH I find this VERY hard to believe...

I've applied a Spigen GlasR protector on mine. Works perfect, and doesn't introduce an awful haze to photos when using the flash either. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0844KGLZJ/
I've tried one other that advertised itself as being edge to edge but wasn't, and produced horrendous photo quality compared to the Spigen
Seems like a skin over the lens is a real sensible option. You don't have to worry about a glass cover that may affect camera lens clarity and you still get some protection to the overall camera system.

That looks like a really good lens protector how's the quality of the images when you use that zoom feature? i read on that review that it had issues with it on.
I just read an article on Techspot this morning for the days news. Some are theorizing there is some sort of gas inside the glass and it explodes outwards. If that is the case then no glass protector is gonna help with that problem. The BS part is Samsung saying its cosmetic damage and not covered under the origianl warranty. So that will cost you $400.00 dollars to repair. Or if you have Premium care it will cost $100.00 for the deductable. If it turns out this is a defect they should be fixing it free. I guess time will tell. As of now only a couple dozen have reported it.

No issues with the zoom. I fkd up the install of the first one, went on incorrectly and didn't line up. The second attempt was perfect and holes where they should be. No issues with image quality or pics with flash.
The only hole in the protector is for the mic, and so far has been no issue with dust accumulation, still clean as a whistle.

I noticed with the one i got from the Bay i get glare from the flash so might end up getting this one eventually.
This is why I rather use a skin or just be careful about how I use the phone/lie it down on surfaces. Because of the glare and other lens issues while trying to snap images. Rather not get anything in the way of the camera lenses.
I got a glass protector but it was really bad. So the skin should be a better solution.
Well, no idea how it can happen without dropping the phone.
