Protector for chrome on camera - Nokia Lumia 900

is there any type of screen protector material for the chrome on the camera? I hear it gets scratched very easily

Maybe Zagg will make one. Most reviewers see how it scratches so easy.

AT&T will sell the Zagg full body at least. I'm going to try to cut out a custom fit from reg screen protector.

That's a pretty small piece to protect. Knowing Zagg, it'll be $10 + shipping for just that piece.
Alternatively, you can get a silicon skin for the whole phone which I heard fits pretty snug and doesn't add a lot of bulk.

I just bought the gel case and it keeps the back of the phone off the objects you lay it on

People just cut out a piece of clear packaging tape and put it over then chrome! I did just that
Sent from my Lumia 900 using Board Express

I used Incipio case and so far the chrome hasn't been scratched even though it's not completely covered.

food wrap film will do it

I bought the skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector. It protects every part of the phone including the chrome. Got if from amazon. Might be something to consider.

I got the full body protector from Zagg for $9 + s&h, off of Amazon. I also have & love the silicon skin, can barely tell it's there.

Awesome idea.... Gonna go and do that now. Thanks man!

The store employees repeatedly offered me a "cleaning pad" that stuck to the back side of the phone. They put it on the camera metal. They would come take it off to wipe the screen and then just replace it on the back over the camera metal again.

I just got the Skinomi carbon fiber full body screen protector, and slapped it on. It looks good, but the quality of the clear screen protector is pretty bad. Not as noticeable when the phone is on, but could be much better. The warranty is lifetime, so I might get another. The carbon look parts look really good, and should protect against normal use.
. Ps, the clear screen protector hadn't dried yet. Now it looks fine. The carbon look is pretty cool..

The guys on this thread who have the Skinomi full body protectors, can you post some photos of it applied to the phone?
I'm in the UK and have a white 900,so I want to see which bits of the phone don't get covered by the skin as the bright white would be very noticable if there are fitment gaps.
I'm actually on my 2nd handset in a week as the buttons on the first one were loose and rattly. However, on that first handset the camera chrome got scuffed in just 2 days even though I kept the phone wrapped in a screen cleaning cloth. I've left the OEM protective film on my new one until I have something permanent, just like the OP has asked for.
As selection of colours for a chrome protector would be cool too. Hopefully someone will come up with this on eBay before long In the meantime I'll cut up a 'generic' screen protector into a make-shift skin for the chrome.

IGG full body protector also covers the chrome on the camera. The only cutout on the back cover is for the camera lens hole and the LED flash hole.
I'm using mine under the black cover so the shiny look isn't a bother for me. Just looking to protect the back from being scratched by the case (or debris that gets between the OEM case and the phone body) which I've seen happen on an N9.

I'm going to make one from a spare screen protector I have. I've just checked an the camera hole is the same size as you get from a hole-punch....so I've got a screen protecter here with me in the office today

Here's my temporary solution, a Nokia cover, a strip of electrical tape and a hole punch.
I'll try to get a decent one cut out so that I don't need to cover it up with the bumper. I may also see if a printing company I've worked with in the past would be able to knock up a few sheets of clear, single-coloured and maybe patterns or designs. Chances are it'll be too expensive, but it can't hurt to ask the question.

Bleh. The chrome on my camera is all scratched up. I hate how it's curved.

Verizon "Clear" Screen Protector

Save yourself money and time by going to a nearby Verizon store and get a pack of 3 "clear" screen protectors for $13 (even cheaper if you have corporate discount). They are PERFECT!!! I can't even see the screen protector, especially when the edges are covered by the Silicone case, both while the screen is ON and OFF!!! The first time I didn't know and they gave me the "anti-glare" one, man...those really kill the sharpness of the screen with the grainy look. You can even see them while the screen is OFF. So I riped that perfectly-installed protector off and thought I would never want to use ANY screen protectors again for this beatiful screen. But then I see in one thread of someone saying that there are two types of Verizon screen protectors, "clear" and "anti-glare", and the clear one is pretty good. I stopped by the store after work today and grabed a pack that includes 3 protectors (for trial-and-error ). After 5 minutes, both mine and my wife's Galaxy Nexus looks flawless with the screen protectors on. Man I love this thing, it's completely invisible and not affecting the screen resolution or sensitivity at all. Just my quick review as the result of the excitement .
And PLEASE....search for the "tape trick" on youtube show you how to lift the installed screen protector up and get the last piece of lint/dust out without using your nails or messing up the whole installation.
Goodluck
P.S. yes, the Silicone case does fit Galaxy Nexus with extended battery.
Does it completely cover screen in a perfect fit I had the anti glare and it was still off in size just a little bit
Yeah....it's like a millimeter or two from reaching the outer edge/rim. But I use Verizon's silicone case, so it wraps around and cover the transition good.
It covers the entire display portion of the face but does not cover the entire glass
Fail post op. Go get three on ebay for $3. I lmfao
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I can already see that they don't look identical. The Verizon version circle/flush around the earpiece speaker nicely, whereas the eBay version only encircle bottom and sides of the earpiece speaker. The Verizon version covers the glass almost completely, almost.....it only like 1-2mm from reaching the edge of the glass. I see many other screen protectors where they only protect the main portion/center of screen and not covering the remaining of the glass just below the Home/Back/Talk buttons.
I think the VZW screenies are fine. I don't like the rubber feel of the expensive one. I'm sure there more durable but the verizon one are nice and clear. Not bad

i also just grabbed them in the store. also very surprised by the quality and extremely satisfied
While I like the material of the VZW screen protector, I'm not a fan of how it fits. It looks too small, as there's about a 1mm gap between the edge of the screen protector and the edge of the screen itself.

You have to watch though. If you aren't using a case, I think you can go with other brands that cover the entire screen. If you are running a case plus the entire screen protector, sometimes the case contacts the screen on the sides and creates bubbling. I've had it happen to a few of my phones. I'm using the verizon silicone case and their SP and no bubbling because of the gap..
I was suckered into the Verizon Screen protectors. They DO NOT reach edge to edge. They just cover the lighted portion of the screen. I never even applied one. I pulled it out and said, "Awww".
Anyone wants them, PM me. I'll sell them 50% off = $6 shipped. 3 in a pack / $6 = $2 a piece.

just go back and return them I went ahead and did that with the anti glare ones yesterday shouldn't be an issue
i like the vzw clear - as someone else said only millimeters from the edges.
I initially tried the antiglare ones but they made the screen horrible to look at.
Do these provide any real protection? Or just from light scratches? Obviously they won't be as safe as gorilla glass or similar products, but I don't throw my phone around, so I don't need anything super protective.
The ones I bought from Verizon have about 3mm of space from edge of the phone. They aren't clear, more like a matte finish. Weird. But I hate to have a naked screen so I bought them anyways. I have a zagg, some ebay screens, and an xtreme guard screen in the mail.
i really like the VZW clear protectors... i measured less than 2mm gap all around, and you wont find an edge to edge dry protector because of the curvature of the screen at the edges.
I bought the Incipio 2 piece case and the Verizon screen protector. I really like the Incipio case over the Otterbox Commuter. I had the Commuter on my Fascinate and the plastic was slippery. The coating on the plastic on the Incipio reminds me of the rubber coating on Seidio cases.
The Verizon screen protector is okay. It is clearer then the SGP Ultra Crystal and my fingers glide over it pretty easily. However, I've already gotten couple scratches on it. I plan on getting the XO SKINS.

Xtremeguard Full Body Protection

Hey guys, if you guys are looking for a cheap full body film protection like zagg check out xtremeguard its $5 on amazon + free shipping no tax (gotta love amazon).
I've been through a couple of these full body protections on various devices: zagg, bodyguardz, skinomi, and xtremeguard. They are all virtually the same, the rubbery kind. I actually just order these and should be on its way soon. From what I remember it's not orange peel.. it only gets that "peel" look when you squeegy too hard or stretch the film.
I assume it won't be as nice as ghost armor, but it's only $5 compares to $30 + tax... and honestly, my phone is white and I prefer the clear look.. and i bet many others would too.
If you don't like the rubber feel screen protector, feel free to leave that off and apply your preferred protection (magnum)
you said its not as nice as the GA, but my question to you is that does it stick well like GA? im thinking of trying out your product since im using a white SG2 as well but can you give us your user input after using it? is it like a smooth surface or carbon like GA?
thanks,

It's the same as the other products i mentioned... Like zagg. it's a smooth surface... Not carbon because well it's not carbon designed. Not sure how else to describe it, if you seen or used zagg before then yeah.
Adhesion sticks well. I haven't received it yet for the gs2 but if it's like how it was for other devices. It's a good cheap product. Other users have mentioned it somewhere

It does add a tiny bit of a rubbery feel but I've had no issues at all typing / using the touchscreen. I've had mine on here over a month and it still looks new. The only issue is with the textured battery door. The skin leaves little bubbles because of it. I left it on just for the added protection. I'm also using a tpu case and feel safer having an extra barrier between it and the phone ( dust particles can scratch up a phone pretty bad when they get between the skin and the phone) .

Wow this thing isn't bad at all, xtremeguard really did well on this one.
each film provided goes all the way to the edges.. The screen i actually had to trim a part or two because i wasn't able to place it on perfectly but no big deal at all. the rubbery feel on the screen isn't bad at all. It actually feels better than the cheap plain screen protectors that leaves you grease smudges. This actually prevents that quite a bit. i have the white gs2 so mine sticks on my back really well.
Complaint is that it left the top corners pretty exposed. But i just cut a couple strips from the left over film and placed them on.
I'll add some pictures.. If it is even visible lol
The film thickness isn't bad, it makes the screen about the same height as the surrounding bezel.
I have yet to put on my flex d3o case but i know that'll give the fit problems... Probably have to get a tpu case
When i say trim... It's like a very very small like .5mm strip. I assume it's a perfect fit on the screen thus if you can't put it on perfectly expect some lifts

ebay currently has it for $2.49 shipped. i bought just the screen protector a while ago, and i wasn't too fond of that wet install, but did manage to stick it on. the fitment is kinda poor, although i did trim a little bit of here and there, but it still didn't quite fit perfect. i emailed the vendor and they sent me a new one pretty fast, but i didn't bother to try it again. i bought two cheap ones from amazon recently and the fitment was a little bit smaller than the screen, but at least it wouldn't bubble up with my d30 case on

wow nice find, but yeah wet installs are a pain in the butt! But if done correctly, it ends up pretty nice.
I can guess why the fitment might be off and people should take note especially for the screen... they made the screen a very tight fit and when peeling off the film make sure not to stretch it! once it's stretched, it doesn't go back to its original form right away.
tips on wet install:
-bowl of your solution (soap plus water) better than using a spray
-don't use too much solution, just enough so you can easily take on and off the film, but not to the point where its all slippery
-steamy room (keeps dust down)
-alcohol wipes, don't bother drying
-for screen avoid the bubbles! like most protectors the bubbles will go away, but for this material... when it goes away it, it creates that orange peel effect in that small area.. otherwise its a smooth surface.
-do not squeegee too hard, this causes it to stretch.. use the cloth to soak up the water being squeezed out. I've heard people use the squeegee and the cloth together... haven't done it myself.
-wait until one film fully stays down before applying the next piece... total of 6 easy pieces.
If you don't like the screen protector.. I know there are quite a few who doesn't like the invisible armor rubber feel, you can just use another screen protector
HOWEVER, i recommend using the full body part though. It's really good stuff for those who don't want to put out money for zagg or ghost armor. $2.50 you can't go wrong with that lol.
@mmakoto, you should try out the full body part, I've used this material for every phone i have and it prevents it from the minimal scratches you get from hard cases.. leaving the phone on the table or hard surfaces... keys, low drops.. you get the gist.. It keeps the phone having that smooth slick feel once removed. Oh and it's thinner than zagg. It usually keeps my resale value for the phone high.. like $50 over the average.. thats some good ROI.
D3O FLEX fitment: the flex is a bit looser than the 2 tone ones.. i have both but i doubt the 2 tone one would do well with this.. don't want to risk it
It is able to conform around the phone with the protection on nicely.. If you know about the d3o case... it covers right above the bezel area.. so my screen which had minimal amount of screen protector resting on the bottom right bezel area is barely being lifted (this is user application fault) I can press the screen back down easily.. i will have to trim that area just a tad.
NOTE: the other parts of the screen that i was able to perfectly apply my screen protector (not on the bezel) it fits wonderfully.
TL;DR: Cheap alternative to full body protection (ZAGG). Use a different screen protector if you don't like the rubber feel (not that rubbery though). D3O flex case fits well over it. TPU would probably be a better choice (more room for error)
EDIT no pictures yet... I don't have another camera.. gonna have to wait for the lady to come back from cheating on me in vegas (jk).
I installed this last night. I only did the edges and the battery door since I don't use a screen protector anyway. The back door looks like it has a lot of porosity right now and not sure if that'll go away. The edges work well though I didn't place them that great. It works though. I bought an extra set too. Really cheap!
I may end up doing ghost armor in the near future as this was most to see how I like this style.

Thinking of getting one, for the ones that still have it on how it holding?
Like most full body ones. it gets old and discolored. It held on really well but it started making my white phone look dirty so i just switch it out. It's cheap so i don't mind. Just make sure the corners are down well. I kept taking mine in and out of my case and it started to make the corners peel.

Bestskinsever

Just wanted to say that I ordered a full body kit from bestskinsever.com and I am super impressed. Yeah it doesn't come with a squeegee or the spray solution but it was also only 9 bucks instead of 30... You make your own solution with a little dish soap and water and use a credit card for a squeegee.
I have never had such a nice screen protector or back protector before though. You can hardly tell that either are on the phone. The matte finish rear matches the finish of the silver HTC one perfectly. The front has a matte finish piece for both speaker grills with perfect cutouts and a semigloss screen piece. I had a Zach on my screen that the Zach rep put on for free when he came into my store and it is night and day how much better this screen protector is than the Zagg. Not only is it crystal clear and you cannot see it is there unlike the orange peel of the Zagg, but it is also smooth ad glass and does not have that rubber feel.
Sorry I can't get any pictures of it installed on the phone due to the phone being my only camera but I would t be showing you much anyways .... It would be hard to tell in pictures that the protector is even on the phone.
I opted not to put the side pieces on my phone cause I feel it is unnecessary. I ordered the devilcase silver aluminum bumper which will be here tomorrow so that is why I wanted scratch protection for front and back of the phone.
Oh.. for all of you paranoid about your camera.... It also comes with a piece to protect the camera lens.
All in all I give bestskinsever a 10/10 in terms of aesthetics and quality
Also very fast shipping ( probably because it only had to travel across the state in my case...I live 30 minutes drive from where it shipped from... Wish I coulda done local pickup lol

Any Cases that Cover the entire frame?

Hi
I bought a oneplus one about 3 months ago and I absolutely love it however I dropped it a while ago and everything is fine but the frame area to the left of the charging port is completely jacked up :/ chunks of it are missing too...
I'm currently using the oneplus flip cover however it doesn't cover it up, so my question is: is there any light tpu/hard shell case that covers up the entire silver bezel, or at least the bottom of the phone so I don't have to look at this anymore xD. All cases I've seen so far leave a bit of the bottom frame exposed just enough so you can see the damage :'(
Anyone know any case that can cover it up?
Thanks!
I advise you to look for the "Diztronic" TPU case, covers completely the silver frame, following the contour of the screen. There's just a 1 cm spot where the frame is visible, at the bottom of the cover, near the hole for the USB cable, but in normal use is not visible. It's 6 months that I'm using this cover in combination with a tempered glass and I'm really satisfied.
Guess it all depends on what kind of protection you want. If you just want mild protection and to just cover the sides, then go with the tpu case. If you want heavy protection, I would suggest the Tudia Omnix Hybrid, http://www.amazon.com/TUDIA-Full-body-Protective-Protector-Resistant/dp/B00SO4XYHA . I have the Tudia case and it has taken a beating and protected the phone very well, even from some pretty high falls. Only con about the Tudia case, is that the front covers the sides of the screen a bit and prevents touch at the the very edges of screen. This can be a bit bothersome if using apps in full screen/landscape when you have to swipe down to exit full screen.

I totally agree, couldn't have said it better. Here are some visuals for you. I got the Diztronic case when I bought the phone, it has protected it from falling out a car, off the desk, and off a moderately high shelf. You can get a tempered glass screen protector off eBay, have to search a bit (TechArmor don't have one). I got one from user dreamlight2004 for around 5 dollars. I made the mistake of getting the OPO screen protector when i first got my phone and it went bad a month ago, a hard scratch from a key. Tempered glass protector looks so much better. Just loaded COS13, it should keep me busy until the OP3 gets announced - so far it's looking to be a really good phone (boo on the OP2 and OPX)

I agree, Diztronic bumpers are terrific.
I'm using this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rearth-Case-OnePlus-One-Folie-Ringke-Fusion-Schutzhulle-Cover-Tasche-klar-/121715293296?hash=item1c56cbfc70:g:gAUAAOSwT6pVt5tV And it is awesome. You can also print your designs for this case!
Ringke Fusion for me is great. It covers the OPO completly.
DO NOT BUY THE TUDIA CASE.
I bought it because I thought it looked pretty sweet. It's the worst case I have ever owned, and I have owned a few. Half the case is slippery nonsense plastic. You grab your phone "wrong" (by this I do not mean insecurely, but simply you happen to not have your fingers on enough of the case's rubber outline), it's like holding an eel.
The clips covering the audio jack and usb port are an absolute NIGHTMARE to open, and plugging in your charger for the night would realistically take three hands with 17 fingers each to manage in a reasonable timeframe. Good thing my audio jack's clip, after having been used exactly twice without even the slightest bit of the abuse it deserved, now no longer clips into it's crevice, and is permanently hanging out at a 30 degree angle. The pop-out clip on the back is nail ruining torture to get out, as is the rubber outline holding the front of the case, should you want to get this garbage off to see how far you can launch it through the air in rage.
I wouldn't use this piece of junk if they paid me.
I am using the TUDIA Dual-Layer case+a glass screen protector, which turned my One to a tank
I drop it way too often, but it still works flawlessly, so I can recommend this case. It also coverers the aluminum frame
I can rep the Poetic Case found here:
I took out the screen protector but I have been rocking the case for more than a year. It is kinda bulky but I have no worries about dropping it or tossing my phone on my desk. Also, It is kinda water resistant (with the screen protector). I have dropped like a glass of water on it and quickly cleaned it up with no harm

Invisible Defender Wrap around screen protector - Quick Review

I found this Screen protector on Amazon and what caught my eye is that it wraps around the side of the phone onto the back. at 2 for $15 CDN it was worth trying.
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06ZZ5Q95L/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Application:
It was a little rough, the first one had too much adhesive. While trying to take off the 1st part, the Adhesive side, it actually peeled the 2nd part, the screen protector side off. It took a lot of force to get the Adhesive side off the screen protector itself, that i ended up ruining it. However the 2nd sheet was much easier to peel apart. The Adhesive layer comes off in 3 parts. the Screen and one for each side. Lining it up was fairly easy using the speaker, sensors and camera at the top. Once it was on properly, the sides wrapped around to the back of the phone. It's easier to smooth out the bubbles before putting the sides down.
Looks:
It looks really clear but when at an angle with a light there is an orange peel effect but this may have been from over zealous rubbing to get the bubbles out. Regardless I am quite pleased at how good it looks over other film screen protectors I've used in the past with other phones.
In a Case:
I'm using a a Spigen Tough Armor Case
https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06XP4FP8N/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The screen protector has a very small clearance at all corners, when applied properly the corner of the case won't touch it nor lift it. Since it wraps around it will not lift it from the sides either, or at least shouldn't. I haven't been able to put it though any long term tests but then again i don't plan on taking the case off any more than i really have to.
Now what you all came for, pictures!

I was about to order the white dome but the review about the prominent lip tuned me to iqshields full body since I will have the phone naked in a holster. I was thinking about the liquid shields next but maybe I'll try this one the next go around if iqshields doesn't work out. Thanks for the find!
I do not see how that wrap around will work. There will be air pocket around the seem .

I just installed one on mine and I dont think you will find a better one than this at this point in time. Its is case friendly with the 3 cases I have tried at this point. UAG, Spigen Liquid Armour, and a Ringke case, the corners are just to the point where they dont touch the case corners. The only potential area of issue for me is after putting on the screen protector (which for me went flawless after watching the youtube install video) was the area around the Power, Volume and Bixby buttons. After putting the case on it wants to "bubble" a bit in those areas. But once I rolled my finger over the edge, pulling back the case slightly it laid the protector back down. its only been a couple hours but so far so good and Im way happier with this $12 purchase over the 45 whitestone dome that seems to be hit or miss.
Photos were taken with the Spigen Liquid Armour case on. Also taken with my tablet so quality on a couple of them are crappy but you should get a good idea,

Just imagine starting off at the edge of your phone to getting started and rolling the phone up like playdoh or a joint smoothing along as you go...to easy!
Thinking about ordering a set of these up. I don't like the orange peel look and the top does not look too case friendly. Does the orange peel smooth out over time or is it permanent?
Personally my opinion of this screen protector as I just purchased and returned it to amazon:
-it messes white whites on your screen. They dont look good anymore after I applied the protector.
-While it does wrap around the sides, when you put on the case it still lifts up the corners and creates little air pockets on the sides of the screen
- Extremely orange peel look on this screen protector.
I purchased the IQ shield case friendly updated version and the image quality is WAY better than this ringke one. Using the IQshield I can actually say for certain it feels like there isnt a screen protector on, with my eyes and my fingers. The ringke you can immediately with just your eyes tell there is something off due to what it does with white balance.
My advice is, dont buy the ringke, there are better ones out there.

if it's lined up properly there is a tiny gap between the screen and the case, so it shouldn't lift. I only had it for a few day and it's getting less and less but i don't think it'll go away completely since i was a little over zealous trying But when i'm using it, it's barly noticable if at all. It's only when a light shines on the screen.
It's not for everyone but i feel it does a good enough job for a lot of people to be happy with. The fact that it wraps around is it's main selling point as it will completely protect the edge screen and the case won't lift it up IF applied properly
I applied one to my S8+ this morning. I think it's great for what it is. It's not glass, but it's smooth and feels like nothing is there. There's an ever so slight orange peel look, but I only notice it when looking at the phone from an angle in light, and it doesn't look like I'll have any lifting from my Ringke case. Overall I'm very pleased with it.
Why not try the BestSkinsEver protectors ? I actually have the edge-to-edge one installed w/ a Ringke Slim case and it is not lifting at all. I thought it would, but actually, it isn't. Now, I would like to use my Spigen Slim Armor case but when I put the phone in there, the corners started to lift up. My BSE case-friendly protectors came in but I will probably wait to install it at a later date.
This is the real deal. Hella nice! Works with my rhinoshield as well
Only issue I've found so far is that the side flaps distort the button mechanics. Takes more force to unlock phone and volume up/down
They'll break in tho. Love the combo
