[Q] How to enable ADB with broken screen - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been searching for the answer for quite some time and have found nothing. I have an Nexus 5x with a broken screen. It turns on goes into recovery or fastboot but no ADB. I have verified fastboot when plugged into pc. I have verified it goes to the entry your pin to start phone screen because my good nexus 5x shows mtp usb in device manager when on that screen. I just cannot get to ADB no matter how i cut it. I am ultimately trying to recover some photos of this phone. Anyone have any ideas ?

Have you got any USG OTG adapter? You could connect a mouse and then use the phone as always

No adapter. But I wouldn't see what I am clicking on anyways...

[Q] Pulling data off broken galaxy nexus

I searched a bit around and couldn't find anything like my problem.
Basically, my screen cracked and blanked out. I can power it on, it'll vibrate when the google logo should come up.
I know the security code, but I can't enter it because the touch screen and display is off.. and that means I can't connect it to my PC to pull all the pictures and files off. It is unlocked, but I don't think I rooted it. I've read I may be able to use adb to do it and copy the SDcard off, but I have no idea how to do it without seeing the screen.
The PC does recognize it though, but it will not let me into the files until the security code is entered. Verizon couldn't help, and I only have 10 days as I have my replacement already. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can use Galaxy nexus toolkit to pull files from phone while in ADB mode.
(Hold volume down and up and the power buttone while booting)
And another thing you can try what sounds funny is:
connenct your phone with HDMI onto an external screen and then you or use a USB mouse to enable data transfer or now where to touch the broken screen.
sounds funny btw XD

Please Help: Backing up N5X - Broken Screen

So my screen is unresponsive but I've gotten the OTG to work with my mouse.
I've enabled debugging with my mouse, and when unplug the OTG and I plug into my computer it prompts me to verify it and I have to check another box.
Is there a work around this? Or another way I can pull my files to my computer.
Also, now my phone is starting to flickr and simulate input and its making the mouse really hard to use.

how to enable usb debugging on A5 when lcd display is broken

Helllo
I want to restart the phone to factory settings to delete everything the problem is that my LCD display has been broken and I can not see anything in black for all the programs I am looking for usb debugging and I do not know how to turn it on when I see nothing
lcd???¿??¿?
ignoring that it has an amoled screen, what you can do is use an otg cable and a mouse, or do it by commands from the computer or if you see the screen, from the recovery
I do not see anything on the screen just black reacts when I push the swim button but I do not see anything so that the otg option does not help
try this

Smashed screen, how to control/get into phone?

Phone is a Moto Z Play. It got run over so the screen is entirely smashed, no display, touchscreen doesn't work
I've read a bunch of threads that are leading me around in circles
I've found this tool which would i imagine would work perfectly https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395
however it relies on 'adb devices' showing a device, which mine does not.
I thought I had USB debugging on, but maybe I don't, or maybe it is but my computer is not yet trusted and the phone is asking me to allow/deny but of course I can't see the screen to click on allow....
This thread seems to indicate a possibility to enable USB debugging and add the device as trusted but again, ADB.... which isn't working for me https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66731042&postcount=260 i'm getting no devices showing up
I can get the phone into fastboot mode by holding power down for ~20 seconds until it force turns off then holding power down to interrupt the bootup sequence. Then if I run 'fastboot devices' it shows, adb devices shows nothing
So what I can do from here? Maybe if someone could give me the exact button combinations I press to get into recovery mode so adb works, or basically any other method to let me see the screen on the PC so I can navigate the phone
I don't want to spend $70 on a replacement screen as I intend to replace the entire phone after this
Is there any other way i.e. plug in a USB keyboard and have exact key combination / keypresses to enable USB debugging and allow this PC?

OnePlus 3 got black screen and doesn't start

Dear XDA community,
I have a 5/6y old OnePlus3, a great phone which never had a problem since last week when the screen simply went black.
If I try to turn it one but it doesn't react.
If I charge it, it shows me an alert that the battery is critically low. It charges for a couple of minutes until it automatically tries to start but then it does not pass the OnePlus logo screen and goes black again. I though it might have been a battery problem but, even if I leave it to charge the whole night, it still doesn't turn on.
I manage to enter the fastboot mode but from there, all paths (e.g. restart, start in recovery mode) lead to the black screen again.
When it's in fastboot mode and I plug it to the PC via USB, it is recognized as a connected android device, however I never activate the USB debuggin option (damn me!!!) and when I try to search the phone using 'adb devices' command it's not there...
Does anyone have an idea on how I can access the storage to copy my files? Or is it even possible at this stage?
Thanks everybody in advance for any help!
