Looking for a clean custom ROM - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

I'm not looking for customisability, I'm just looking for a ROM with solid battery life and is not overloaded with random gimmicky gestures and features like that. Is there any custom ROM like that? Or should I just go back to using Oxygen OS/Freedom OS, I didn't have a very good time using those two. Currently I am using Uniquity which feels nice but it keeps unrooting for some strange reason and I need root for certain apps that I use.

FreedomOS and bluspark kernel. Great battery life and performance is also very good on oxygen

VertexOS is a really nice one... It runs buttery smooth.. And I mean really smooth.. And it is pretty minimalistic.

I recommend Sultan 's CM13 based on MM. It doesn't have any gimmicky. Just pure ROM perfect for daily use with great battery life & Camera.

VertexOS does look pretty compelling, a bit worried because they said 60fps recording may face stability issues . Looking foward to trying it out though.

I am using freedom os and default kernal is has gud battery life but i want to tweks kernal i want to change max usb current input but not able to do so

Best version of CyanogenMod

So, I rooted my phone. I use stock but have had CM for my Evo in the past. I like the idea of getting JB and getting auto updates by having CW update checker. I decided I would like to try CM for these reasons and to stop the OTA push that I keep getting. I know that there are ways to remove this but would rather go to CM. My question is, I noticed there isnt a stable version for the GS3 and there is only a snapshot for the M series, so what has been the most stable version to use. I saw the comments section in CW on CM 10 nightly for the 10/5 update and it seemed to have good reviews. Anyone want to chime in here? This is my everyday phone and would like a version I can rely on and have it update via the clockwork mod.
aokp!
if I was you I would go with the aokp ROM in the original dev section, I've tried the cm10 it just isn't stable, if you use the aokp ROM with the kernel from the same dev you'll get crazy battery life, crazy performance, stability and everything you're looking for on a daily driver, the only thing I think that's still wrong anybody correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the 4g is not working quite yet, but I'm in a 3g area so not an issue for me lol

Crap, there is just way too much info out there my head is about to explode. Never heard of aokp, anything you DONT like about that rom other than the 4g issue? I wouldn't mind having JB but I really dont feel like dealing with crap not working, bugs etc. I had to deal with CM on my EVO having bug issues with Bluetooth and it was annoying. If I stayed root using stock and just did OTA updates it would just break root right? It only screws things up if you have a flashed rom I thought. My thought process would be to just leave things the way they are and just wait for JB to be release OTA and just re root. Or does the OTA just fail when you are rooted?

If you like cm10/cm9 you would def like aokp, its like cm but just way more customization, more options, and with a nice kernel aokp is the best, apart from the 4g issue NOTHING is wrong with the aokp ROM, is buttery smooth, good battery life no glitches I've been using aokp for a while no problems on my end

Im thinking about swithing to CM but with my current rom and kernel combo i never get anything less than 5½ hours of screen time, sometimes it can reach 6hrs.
Does CM have comparible battery life?
I read somwhere in CM threads that Twiz roms have optimized Qualcomm dalvic cache(or something like that) and CM doesnt,so this takes toll an battery life.I dont know if there is any truth to that

idk about cm I only tried a few of their nightly builds and they seemed to be getting more unstable every day, the only ROM that I've found stable is the aokp, without using the phone for more than a few texts a calls I can get around 20 hours battery, playing hardcore games the whole time about 7 hours, I would post screen shots if I had em, and all this is with the processor overclocked to 2.1 GHz I bet you can get more out of the battery without messing with the processor

What 4g issues r u all referring to on AOKP? I don't have any.
So I loaded both Mods and I didn't really like AOKP but just have to tinker with the visuals I think and it will grow on me. Cyanogen was what I expected except the Bluetooth with voice dialer or phone wont work. I will queue the Bluetooth and voice dial will come on but wont hear my command. If I manually go into the phone app it will disconnect when I get in an active call. I am going to tinker with AOKP a bit more but if it doesnt impress I think I will end up just going back to stock rooted and just unroot when an OTA update is pushed and reroot it. I dont think the wait for Jelly Bean is going to be that much longer anyways. I was happy with stock, just didnt like the constant bother when OTA update is pushed but not as annoying as the things I find in the other ROMS. I will give AOKP a bit more time to adjust first.
Just read up on another thread that this is a common issue to have with BT and JB. Sigh, it was worth a shot.
FWIW That animation boot logo on AOKP is so incredibly gay (No offense to anyone) thank god they allow you to change it easily.

Dont have LTE right now so hoping no issues by the time it rolls out here. If someone could educate me though, I noticed I dont even connect to 4G is this different and not available on the GS3 from the 4G I was connecting to on my EVO. In other words is there a backwards compatible 4G? It seems to search only for 4G LTE which we dont have so I am only connecting 3G. Kinda sucks I cant even use regular 4G.
Flashed back to stock rooted and glad I did. I like everything working. The only thing I miss now is the ability to be in my locked screen and have it in landscape mode. Seems as though it only goes into landscape after I unlock. I use the stock ticker and clock and would be cool to have those in landscape while leaving it locked.
I wonder if any of those orientation apps in the market would fix this. Just dont want to throw away a few bucks and not have it work

[Q] Rom with best battery Life

Hi Guys,
Don't really post much, just trawl and download Roms.
My good friend had 2 old HTC Desire's that he wanted to use as backups on long camping trips.
I had a long look at roms and popular ones, but im still not too sure which ones are still current, or lost in the woods.
I've been able to root both the phones with revolutionary, and on one of them, i have installed Ginger Villain 3.3.
I was wanting to know some other roms that have great battery life and are fairly stable, and i would like to use them without an SD card if possible. It doesn't have to be fancy, or look pretty, just functional. I dont need ICS, im still happy with FROYO or G/B
I was a big fan of LeeDroid when i had my HTC Desire HD, but i had since moved to another when he stopped developing. Not sure how his Bravo went.
TL;DR Looking for stable, no frills ROM, with great battery life. Opinions?
Aosp GB roms like CM7 have a very good battery life. Also try Aosp MildWild roms. I get about 2 days of battery with medium usage.

You say that the MildWild rom has very good battery life.. But I too use that rom and my battery dies halfway through the day. I recently bought a new battery, because my phone is pretty old... But that's not the solution. Do you have any suggestions?
Edit: I had a screen-on time of 15 minutes. I had 40 per cent left of the battery 6 hours after I unplugged it. The phone was fully charged... That was the new battery btw
Mild wild CM good option I think

Some app is eating up your battery. Try reflashing the rom. It's the most straightforward solution.

+1. Strangely, on all MW AOSP ROMs that i tried, battery always died very fast. Got almost only 7-8hrs with moderate usage. Tried all the tweaks i knew of to improve but no luck. Better battery stats also didn't reveal anything unusual that may be eating the battery.
I just switched to Nikez P4 and testing the battery life. It used to be great on his P1.

Flashing another rom doesn't help either. I'm still getting only 8 hours of battery..
ur battery is probably just dying (old) try another battery for a day n see if theres any difference
Like I said earlier, that is what I did. I am getting these problems with both my old and my new battery. Flashing a new rom/ kernel doesn't help either.

Freedom OS 2.8, bluspark kernel. wih 4g heavy usage, giving me 4-5hrs SOT constantly. and in wifi/light usage , 7-8hrs SOT always. Loving the current setup.
Pheonix AEX by itself... has a great kernel and easily gotten 9+ SoT in the last two battery cycles. Has all the customization you'll ever need built in and has the best OOS camera port. Just give it a try, it wont disappoint.

Well, reduced small cluster max freq by one step. Rest all as it is. Agressive doze is OFF. Somehow feels that keeping it ON drains more. /Contradicting/
Tried naptime initially, but with and without it, the duration is more or less the same.
I am also looking for a great ROM.
Is official Resurrection Remix the "best"? It has all features of the other ROMs?? Good battery life and stable??
Official kernel?
Or are there better ROMs or kernels and if yes, which are the advantages?

I personally don't know, why to use a Oxygen OS based ROM? I think, it has no features and not much customization and nothing great? Or am I wrong?
xXx no limits rom with bluspark kernel is a beast. Camera is my priority especially video recording and no other rom could suffice that. Very stable ofcourse.
Rom has inbuilt performance tweaks and is super snappy. Ofcouse I tried plenty other roms especially for camera, sulan's rom phoenix aex rom and many more , they manage to take good photos almost as good as OOS but none of them could match video recording smoothness of OOS especially in 1080p 60fps. Tried and tested a lot. And with my usage I easily get around 6 to 7 hours of sot with excellent performance.

What's the best ROM for MI6?

Hello. My unlocking waiting period is off in a few hours and I was wondering whats the best ROM to flash.
Things that are important to me;
Camera
Battery
Customization
Leave your reccomendations please
Miui Eu from xiaomi eu community if u want those 3 plus Oreo
Miui pro if you want more customization but nougat version....their Oreo is very laggy. Trust me.....very laggy. You'll feel you have 4 year old phone, not a sd835 flagship. Hope they fix Oreo build soon
If you like miui you should use either Xiaomi.eu, MIUI Pro, Epic Rom or Globe Rom.
I personally prefer stock Android ROMs so I've been using resurrection remix myself. The 05/01 build has proven very stable to me. It has OMS so there is lots of theming support and the RR settings provide all the customization you want I get about 8 to 10hrs of screen on time on either miui or RR.
MI-Globe rom. A lot of customizations, sadly most of these aren't working on Miui 9/Oreo.

I personally prefer stock Android ROMs so I've been using resurrection remix myself. The 05/01 build has proven very stable to me. It has OMS so there is lots of theming support and the RR settings provide all the customization you want I get about 8 to 10hrs of screen on time on either miui or RR.

I also prefer stock Android, but I also prefer my quick charge 3.0, dual camera, BT, battery life, etc to work Everything I tried so far is failing in some of the features.

It does not work for me. Not even a normal speed charge works. If the screen is on while charging, charge goes down. Also, it seems to report wrong battery charge status as well.
How the hell you guys reporting different experience using the same ROM.
I'm also a bit frustrated with ROM development status here with devs are easier to get disiniterested working on the ROM they've baked and jumped on working on another ROM.

Once you have 2-3 gigs of apps to be reinstalled on new ROM, jumping around the ROMs is not a fun thing to do.
Also it sucks if you donated to the developers and have the ROM abandoned couple weeks after.
I'd rather pay a decent amount monthly for a well-maintained ROM.

You are wrong if you think MIUI is one of the pros picking a Xiaomi phone.

Your opinion on best rom

Its time for me to try a custom rom and wanted to know in your opinion what is the best rom and why.
Please and thanks
Lol flash them and decide for yourself otherwise read more
Clearly they are asking for your opinion on what rom you like. They want suggestions.

I've been using AOSiP with Kirisakura kernel. Good battery life, dark theme and google pay works!

I did read and donewant to fresh install if I don't have to. Like other said. I'm asking for opinions.
I know what he asked and I know what he's looking for but opinions shouldn't matter when you have something called a custom ROM. Custom means it's going to be different for every user. The whole point is the ease to do a titanium backup and flash a new ROM and try it out for yourself and see.
Does it hurt to get opinions?

My opinion is biased
I've been using Scorpion since November, I haven't tried any of the others. It has everything I want in a custom ROM. The others come from solid developers, so you really can't go wrong with whichever you choose

Troll much?? Nothing wrong with suggesting a rom. You say it depends on the user. But not entirely. Some might be more stable , some may have bugs etc etc. Get a life man
---------- Post added at 05:04 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:59 PM ----------
And my answer....any rom I run krisakura kernel with. Its stable and you get good battery life...imo gives you the smoothest experience too.
I would say scorpion has the most customisation but stable. AOSIP has a lot of customisation but not as much as scorpion, but again is stable and with good battery.
DU has less customisation again but again very stable and smooth. haven't tried dotOS as I believe it doesn't support the pixel stand or the squeeze feature yet.
Really you can't go wrong with scorpion, AOSIP or DU. but it depends on what customisation tweaks you like. For example scorpion has different fonts baked in where as AOSIP or DU doesn't. Or AOSIP has the new battery icon from Android q. Etc etc.
Hope that helps a little lol
Forgot to mention aqua OS is good too with a good amount of customisation.
Also if you like updates I would say the most frequently updated rom is AOSIP

That war a excellent answer. Thank you so much.
Scorpion or DU.... I used to swear by DU, but have been on Scorpion for the last two months. It has a few extra features that are absent in DU, but its not overloaded with features.

Scorpion is based off DU, we took that great ROM and added in the features we wanted without sacrificing all the things that make DU great. Gotta say, I'm looking forward to what can be done when Q drops
I have limited time and internet data for testing as i'm abroad. Is there a difference in Battery life between Full stock, Stock ROM with custom kernel, Custom ROM and Android Q?
I'm on Stock + Kirisakura kernel + Universal GMS Doze but i have not been impressed with Battery life. Just today went to work 5 hours, only used PowerAmp for music for 2h30min. I started off 92 battery and its gone to 67% in 6 hours with 9 hours left to go. I've a feeling it can be better?
