Useless, it's not about the display, it's about the motherboard.

I bought a new display and still nothing
Yes! that's what i discovered now, i went to recovery mode (Power Button+Vol down button) and i was so suprised that it lasted 2 hours now without shutting down or fading to darkness
Now i'm confused, if it was a hardware problem then we will face the same problem but i'm not sure if it's the motherboard

You have to stress the phone to see if it is stable. Recovery is a low resource environment, boot into Android and then see it is not working. Trust me, i have a device with the same symptoms and fixed it by baking the motherboard in an oven.

You don't really need a new motherboard, unless you are afraid of the oven.

Hi All
I got my Desire yesterday and played around a bit with it. What I am noticing is that the screen seems to be a little bit uncalibrated. For example, when I want to click on App1, I am clicking on App2 which is underneath it. Seems like my click is effectively being hit on the screen lower than where I intended. Hope I made myself clear.
Can anybody tell me if this happens and if there is anyway to fix that?
Thanks

As there isnt a calibration utility on the desire i think that you may have to contact your provider or htc to find out whats wrong.
aww
provider you mean the shop I bought the phone from?

Yes or if its on a contract to a network like t-mobile you should contact them
ok thanks
Its not that bad actually, maybe I have to get used to it. Thought there was some setting to fix it. If it gets annoying will contact the shop.

It can be a bit different i felt like this when i first got my desire but i have now got used to it!
actually its not a fault in the touch screen cause everything works, its just when I have a list of apps and I want to click lets say on the third one, the fourth one gets launched, and not always happens.
As I said, maybe since I am new to it all so its maybe my fingers that have to get used to it.
I do not think its a fault with the device actually
I had exactly same problem, when I switched to FroYo no problems, so software issue
Hi Benko
thanks for the message. So I guess I will have to wait for the Froyo update, or else I have to root my device, however since I am a complete newbie, I am quite afraid to do that.
Hopefully the new 2.2 will also allow for SD card installations!
You can try the new ROM update from HTC, if you don't have it, personally haven't tried it but maybe it will help
Serch for latest official rom(I believe it is 1.21.405.2)
try calibrating the keyboard, I think it calibrates the screen for other inputs as well.
How do I know which ROM I have presently?

well, nice death by the way just joking man, if your warranty isn't void they must replace it to you!
You mentioned it's done it twice before. Were you playing a game those times as well?
Looks to me like a graphics driver chip issue rather than screen wiring, and if it happened under heavy graphics load all three times, chances are that's what it is.

Hi guys
This is my first thread, in this forum. Personally, i've never moded my cell phone, but recently attempted to root and mod my wildfire s.
I succeeded, this forum was really helpfull!
Even before the mod, my screen was driving me crazy. In the begining it took my attempts to unlock the phone. Some other time, in the messages section, keypad would act on his own, literally Even if i typed "A" it would typed "enter" or anything else but "A". So I enabled touch trace to see what happens. Here is the thing, like i suspected, touchscreen's reactions are spoted away of the point i touch. Sometimes, two touch traces appear on the screen.. Some other times, its extremely difficult to unlock the screen, hang up the phone, or use the menu.. So that's the story. With the mod nothing changed..
Is it a hardware problem? Is it a software problem?
Thanks in advance.. :good::good:
PS: I use cyanogenmod 10
Only a couple of apps installed
PS: english is not my mother language so, maybe some unusual expressions and dictation could by used

i had this problem too:
It's not a big problem..
your hand is wet, and the screen also, but if you dry it with a polyester (of your t-shirt) it will work..
only dry the display and your hand
so..

Hi, ghost inputs is a known issue caused by the charger delivering incorrect voltage/amperes. Are you using the stock one ?

Yes im using the stock one. I ve never measured the output though.. I maybe check it tomorrow.. But the problem is constant and happening, not only when the device is plugged... The other thing is, there isnt only ghost inputs, there are freezings too. Or a thing, where ex: im trying to unlock the phone, so i slide to the side, and visually im almost unlocking it, but in real, nothing happens. Its still on lock screen.
any other?? im kinda desperate with this phone.. :crying:
Perhaps a recalibration might work.

yes, If re-calibration is not helping then you need to replace the digitizer. Am also suffering the same issue now. Just got my digitizer replaced two days before. But am still suffering from some issues regarding touch. Gonna have to recheck with the retailer

ITS a hardware problem

That issue applies while we try accessing the phone while it is charging , right ? I mean, the touch response will be strange while the phone is been charged. But, here the OP is having issues with the touch screen all the time (charging / not-charging) . And re-calibration didn't work too.

It will take another two days for him to find out and clarify the issue. If it is a digitizer issue or some other hardware issue, I will update the same here ASAP.

Nope, issue happens at all times due to residual current.

I thought this was the error in the first place i measured current and voltage on the output of the charger and it seems legit..
I did change the charger thoug. So i didnt know how to proceed on this one. The way im thinking of it right now, i might let the battery completely deplete and charge from the new one?
Hey there,
I need help! I'm traveling and my screen earlier today started randomly shutting off on me. Then, even when I double tap it, the screen won't turn on. The buttons on the bottom will still work, so I can't tell if this is a software issue or if the LCD screen is failing. The screen will occasionally turn on when I pull the battery and start it up, but it doesn't stay on for long.
I recently flashed the Azadi Marshmallow stock ROM...could the be an issue. I'm afraid to do any flashing while I'm on the road since I think I can atleast turn on the mobile hot spot feature when the screen does decide to actually work.
Should I flash to the stock software?? I was going to use this step by step: http://www.androidexplained.com/how-to-unroot-lg-g3-revert-back-stock/ , but I'm afraid to flash since I may not be able to screen if it is indeed a hardware issue and not a messed up software file or something...help!
Thanks
Seems like a battery issue to me. I had a similar issue, G3 randomly started rebooting and powering off. I changed the battery and it works fine now
I've tried the 3 different batteries I've got and its the same problem. The screen is flickering and only stays on for a little bit...something is up with the video processor or something related to it. Esp with the SIM card failing...it's bizarre.
It's the motherboard, is a common issue in the g3. look for screen fade issue.
I fixed mine baking it. It has 20 days working fine.

It worked like a charm. Baked it at 200°C for 7 minutes, then let it cool down inside the oven for 35 minutes. It's been 13+ hours and no issues whatsoever. Give it a try!

Okay!
So I bought an already used LG G5 Sprint LS990 and it was locked.
I took it to a store to unlock via a software and it worked after putting my sim.
Then, the phone became very hot and went off. It refused coming on. It was more like a hardbrick. It doesn't come on. No recovery or download mode. No display on the screen when I plug in the charger (the phone just feels warm after a while). Also, when I plug it to the computer, there is no connection sound and I checked device manager, it doesn't show anything. No Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 or BULK whatever...
I got tired of trying. So I abandoned the phone for about a month.
Last week, I plugged it in again and omg! It showed the battery icon and it was at 0%.
I left it to charge to 100% and I put it on. It got stuck on the Sprint Splash screen and went into a bootloop.
I removed the battery and reinserted it. Now it won't come on again. It's back to being hardbricked.
I even bought a new battery just incase but it didn't work.
It still doesn't connect to the PC.
I don't know what to do.
Can anyone please help?
