Is this true? I have a lot of apps and games, and my battery isn't as great as my bro who just got it

not necessarily in order to determine what is draining your battery your going to need better battery stats also if you your location , bluetooth that will drain your battery. most importantly some apps will battery hogs like facebook, gtalk if you are using those make sure you get an app called greenify but you will nee to be rooted.

In the past few weeks I've noticed my battery draining noticeably faster than the 1st few weeks I had it. Even running the exact same settings and apps I had before... same ROM versions, same kernel versions, settings, no added apps, etc. I hate to say it's my charging habits prematurely degrading the battery, but that's about the best I can come up with. Still getting the same general stats in BBS, phone stays in deep sleep the majority of time, but instead of only losing .2%/hr or less as when I first purchased, I'm up to around .5-.8%/hr.
the battery on my nexus 5x is very poor. battery saving apps do not help, neither does a custom kernel and using powersave mode, etc (that only made performance worse, no improved battery life). I'm always worried about my phone dying when out and about, even if i don't use it much (and sometimes i really need it!). any suggestions?

There's nothing that will dramatically increase the battery for you on this phone. If your achieve poor battery statistics with the stock rom, it's time to move on. Get a new phone.

have you tried anything like Force Doze? this should at least improve your standby time by a bit.

First things first. What do you consider poor battery life and what good battery life?
I noticed that my nexus's battery life got worse. I bought it 2 months ago, on chroma + franco kernel i was receiving about 5h SoT, currently on stock /N/ latest chroma + franco i get max 2,5h....
What to do guys? What may be the cause of it?

Disable Google and it's hot word, disable Google now. Install Greenify and greenify only Chrome and enabling auto hibernation, while using the donation pack and use Aggressive Doze feature, as well as the disable sensors while moving feature.
Disable Bluetooth and wireless scanning!
I got the same setup as you and I got from 2.5 hours SOT to 4:30+...

Why was your phone constantly awake while the screen was off? Wakelocks, my friend. ...Unless you listened to music for 14 hours straight.

You probably have "Wi-Fi scanning" activated in the scanning options within the location settings (in the three dot menu). I'm not sure if it actually has a big impact in battery life, but I usually disable it, because, as far as I know, as long as I enable Wi-Fi, it will still use it to improve location.

Yes I looked at it too, I downloaded when i caught WiFi connection wakelock detector, and here results:
Screen wakelock (camera, because double power to run, So thats not weird)
And cpu wakelocks
Music was only about 2-3 A.M, later about 3-4 hours, but thats not on battery usage, but on wakelock detector already is noticed
P.S WiFi scanning in 3dot menu i had turned off, but it still on battery usage is as on, but took not so much battery (13 mAh) so I would keep it away

i also had massive wakelocks, seems like apps like facebook and viber has wifi modes that override the phone ones.
for viber its in general settings of the app, while i have deleted pos facebook and use chrome notifications for it. if you use the non mobile site you can receive/reply just fine without messenger
We already have a very extensive battery life thread.

And the OP hasn't even contributed much info. Why is this thread still going?

Hi, I am wondering is there any way to prevent battery charning to completle full? I want to it stop something like 90%, because battery health.
There is an app in the playstore called battery alert 40/80 , I believe that is what you are looking for.....
Can i know why it must be stopet at 90% ... I see many bull**** posts about "don't charge over 94%" ... Whats the gain after a year if i do this process ? (Max charge 90%) ??

Hey guys,
I have been experiencing bad battery life on the latest 19S ROM, i also experienced same on 18S stock.
When i go to battery and view the stats. i always get ANDROID OS which is taking most of the battery life. This is annoying because it seems that it is reducing my usage time.
I read online that it is an app which is causing the OS to remain awake. I have to manually reset the phone maybe 2 to 3 times daily to prevent heavy battery drain.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
I deleted the TypeApp email app and had a big difference in battery, it gave me 5x as many wakelocks as anything else
A also have battery drain. Android OS is on top.. Any fix?

Where did you get the 19s rom from? the Letv website here http://bbs.le.com//zt/eui/le_pro1.html only shows 18s as latest?
I have been suffering this issue since I updated to N (screenshots attached).
Atm, SOT is about 3 hours.
Are you guys experimenting this battery drain caused by this two processes too?
In case this also happened to you. Were you able to solve it?
I installed latest RUU 2 days ago and nothing seems to have improved.
Your kernel and android system usage look OK to me... Google services are OK too IMO. Looks like you've used chrome and YouTube a bit.. Awake time up a little, that would be mainly from apps running in the background. You could try servicely to try and improve that...

It doesn't look ok to me. Comparing it with the phone i use for working, it seems there is a problem in here.
As i was saying, the phone i use for working averages 10% combined kernel+android os consumption while my htc 10 averages 30%+.
I have the exact same issue. I just unplugged my phone and I'm already down 3%.

Why not use Better Battery Stats, let the phone sit idle for 6 hours, download the dump file to your SD, and see what exactly is killing your battery.
There are too many variables to test your device reliably while it's in use. With GSAM, all you see is what's happening while the device is in use, and what 'Eats' your battery, but no 'Why' your battery life is poor, is it background processes/ notifications/ poor reception/ bad Wi-fi??
GSAM creates a guessing game. Logs never lie. If your battery is going bad, it will be reflected in your log(s).
