Lumia 640 xl
OS and firmware: Windows 10 mobail, firmware v_1607, build 14393.693
Description of the problem:
After you install the dependencies and applications
Microsoft.NET.CoreRuntime.1.0
Microsoft.VCLibs.ARM.14.00
CellMapper_1.2.18.0_ARM
did you enable developer and portal settings on phone? did you interop unlock your device?
and whats is problem? dont know how to install files?
interop unlock your device yes
You understand me wrong. After installing these applications. Now ceased to run all of the applications xap file on the phone.
check interop unlock again...
mmm I recently reinstalled those dependencies trying to reinstall interops and for some reason the phone can no longer update-install ANY app and registry changes dont hold after reboots
maybe it has something to do with reinstalling the dependencies?
Installed interop tools RC 1.9.437.0. the problem is not gone. The application hangs on the start screen doesn't open ,it is "xap-file" app. Tried to reinstall the dependencies to no avail. All appxbundle application run.
in interop tools under interop unlock enable "Restore NDTKSvc". wait 30 seconds, restart phone. go again to interop unlock and turn on interop/cap unlock.. registry editing and other should back again
if not, hard reset or flash phone again
in interop tools under interop unlock enable "Restore NDTKSvc". All inclusive on and off does not work.

Thought I would write a thread showing how to simply complete an unlock with Chevron WP7 and some common homebrew apps/tweaks for all platforms. The information is scattered and varied, but I will edit this post to be as useful as possible for beginners as a one stop source. Thanks to the following threads for info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857127

Unlocking with Chevron WP7
The first step to "sideloading" applications to your phone (applications not approved by Microsoft) is to developer unlock your device.
Downloads needed:
Windows Phone 7 Developer Tools (annoyingly large, but necessary)
Chevron WP7 Application, Chevron Security Certificate, Chevron Registry Entry
TCPView for Windows (don't neglect this, it saves a lot of time and is a useful utility!)
Steps for unlocking:
Install Windows Phone 7 Developer tools. This will require a reboot at the end.
Email the "ChevronWP7.cer" file to your Windows Phone 7 device.
Open the email, tap on the attachment to download it. The icon will turn into a shield, tap again to get a new dialog. Press "Install" then OK.
Put your WP7 Phone into airplane mode (Settings>Airplane mode>Slide the toggle to ON)
Double click the ChevronWP7.reg file on your computer. A prompt will open up asking if you want to write this to your registry. Press Yes to continue, then OK at the end.
Open TCPView. (tcpview.exe inside of the downloaded archive) Click on the heading marked "Local Port" until the arrow next to it is pointing up.
Look on the Local Port column for any entries labeled "HTTPS". These programs MUST be closed for Chevron to work properly. Common culprits are Skype, and XAMPP. Use Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+Delete) to ensure they are closed if you run into issues.
Connect your phone to your PC via USB cable. Open the Zune software if it is not already open, and wait for it to finish syncing.
Open your Zune software and go to the Phone page, and make SURE you don't see anything that denotes that you are in a "Guest Sync" relationship with the device. It needs to be the primary computer the phone is synced with.
Unlock your phone and leave it at the home screen. Make sure the phone does not go to sleep after this.
Open ChevronWP7.exe. It should be running as administrator. Check both boxes, and press Unlock.
Cross your fingers, and you should be up and running on a developer unlocked device! (The Unlock button will change to Relock in Chevron if this is successful)
If you receive the error "Phone is locked with a PIN", it means your phone was locked when the fix was being applied. Make sure to unlock your phone (so you can see the live tiles) BEFORE pressing the unlock button.
If the program crashes, navigate to C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\etc and right click the file named hosts and press properties. Uncheck read only and press OK, then try again.
Homebrew Applications
All homebrew applications are installed as follows:
Go to Start>Programs>Windows Phone Developer Tools> and run Application Deployment
Ensure the target is "Windows Phone 7 Device"
Browse to the .XAP that you are loading.
Connect your phone, wait for Zune sync to finish. Ensure it is not guest.
Unlock phone and keep it awake. Press "Deploy" and the application should load (not extremely fast, and will appear in your app list without a reboot when done)
If the above doesn't work, then try resetting your phone and retrying. Also, restart your computer if the problem persists.

HTC and LG offer utilities in their section of the marketplace for MMS/data, so just grab one of those! Samsung's utility is faulty by design to keep people from unlocking, thus the hack.
What does this mean? Is ig that samsung phones have trouble unlocking because I bought my wife a focus and I had the same error message. But I haven't tried the way posted here. So I will be trying this way and replying. Thanks!
pls help me with this: I have HTC Surround and can not sync with zune, it doesn´t start when connect the phone and if start manually it doesn´t connect and sync neither
thank you for this one. it works exactly it was described on the first page. samsung omnia 7 portugal bought phone. but using it in Turkey.
Win Phone 7 MMS settings XML
So I dont know if this helps, or if anyone a little more knowledgable than I can attack this with me but I have the XML and registry settings for MMS from my LG quantum. I have a focus and LG Quantum. My LG has the XML viewer and reg editor built right in, which I friggen love.
So I took pix of the whole xml file that should be enough info to change the profile to the right settings, with the reg keys.
At first glance here it looks like just changing a couple string values... of the key at HKCU\Software\Microsoft\ShortMsg\MMS in the ADDR string value to your MMS server would be a start. I will look further into it after work tonight. If anyone beats me to it... so be it. Just thought I would toss this out there just in case it helps.

Hi, I'm new here.
So I followed each step thoroughly, and when I execute 'ChevronWP7' and check off each box and click 'unlock', the program says it has stopped working.
What could be the issue?
Also:
I have the phone on the main menu
I do have all necessary programs running
Samsung re-lock prevention hack doesn't work for me
After deploying the xap it seems to take, but, my Focus is always relocked after syncing. Not a huge deal to unlock before deploying, but, thought it was worth a mention...
Edit: Nevermind. Didn't realize they're was an app on the phone to run as well... Should have read the original thread first. Sorry...

820 you meant,
but WPinternals does support it.
Still too complicated process (restore to 8.1, unlock phone, flash windows 10M )... also it takes long time to do ... Would be nice if there was app that do this for me.

Latest version of Interop Tools (1.9 Pre 3) has a setting to write the missing registry entries automatically. Then you just need to add the files and fonts.
interop unlock is enough for fixing that, just enable full fs system and you can reach the subfolders. maybe dont even need the full fs access and just use "U:\SharedData\OEM\Public" as shortcut to check if the files are present. but you indeed need the interop unlock to be able to write the missing reg keys and subvalues (in that case the wpinternals way is easier to do that)

But Interop Tools 1.9_Pre3 allows you to do the interop unlock and then has a simple toggle (under Tweaks) to enable the missing reg keys. You do *NOT* need wpinternals and flash back to 8.1 to do this, assuming you're already on W10M! Read thread on this from page 126: http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...mobile-10-redstone-rs1-build-t3319375/page126 . Use the Glance files attached to post 1255 and add them into Phone\Data\SharedData\OEM\Public , including the fonts folder. Then turn on the "Use old glance" toggle under Tweaks in Interop Tools, and reboot. Oh, and make sure you've got the Glance app installed -- if it isn't you'll have to sideload it, but it probably is installed. If still not working, then use Interop Tools to import the registry files attached under post 1259.

can you give me dl link for Interop Tools 1.9_Pre3 ?
edit:
Note: Pre3 has been pulled due to Windows Defender flagging it as a False positive. As a precaution, even if I'm sure it's safe, I prefer to pull it and make you wait for the pre4 which will be soon. The weirdest part is somebody that I know also got his app flagged by Defender and only defender, with the same threat. At that point I don't know if it's a conspiracy since I know MS doesn't like either app. I guess I'll see with pre4. Right now my pre4 release candidate passes defender. Thanks for understanding.
:/
How strange, Windows Defender never made a squeak about my copy of Pre3. If you're desperate, the only other way is to use vcReg to Interop Unlock and enable Mass Transport Protocol file access to add in the missing files, then install CustomPFD, and use CustomPFD Remote app to add the registry entries one-by-one. But this is tedious, so I'd advise you just to wait for Pre4.

hi guys , can some one tell me how can i install interop tools on lumia 950???
- enabled developer mode on phone
-i installed it from link below
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/interop-tools-store/9nj3rs1t5n68?activetab=pivotverviewtab
-then installed these
InteropTools.Providers.Registry.RegistryRTProvider.App_1.0.12.0_x86_x64_arm.appxbundle.zip
InteropTools.Providers.Registry.NDTKProvider.App_1.0.6.0_arm.appxbundle.zip
from this page
so when i go to interop tools app it ask me about "provider" with combo box including
+this device(s experimental)
+this device(through provider extensions)
+test provider
+remote device
now i donno what to choose or what to do next :|
For the Lumia 950 Phone,
Install vcREG - Follow Instructions for X50 Series on 1st Post. Should have all needed files there. I always put the checkbox in the Interop Unlock Box on Step three then reboot on step 3. Seems to always allow me to edit system level registry no issue if I do it this way.
I always install Interop Tools Legacy from here with no provider extensions. Then when you start it. Choose This Device.
If you have a Windows 10 PC, Install Interop Tools from store on it. On your phone, goto Settings and enable remote connections and make note of the port or change it to whatever you like. Check your phone network connection to get its IP. Connect your phone via USB Cable to your computer.
On your computer load up Interop Tools and Choose Remote Device. Put in your phones IP address and the port number. Now you can browse your phones registry on your computer and make changes there. It is alot easier for me.
Good Luck
use interop tools preview , i use that , in the dropdown select "this device"
u can get it from the interop tools topic by the main creator , gus33000 i think
Hi,
Phone: Nokia Lumia 735
OS: WM 10.0.14393.2551
Interop Tools (Store): 2.1.27.0
After opening weather app it says, that I need to download new version, but there is no update in store. I have found some internet sources recommending reinstalling app since there is some glitch that held old version due too combined os update and hard reset. Unfortunately pressing on app let it only pin to main screen and there is no uninstall option. I have dig deeper (and I regret) that so called default apps can be uninstalled with Interop Tools. I install Interop Tools (Store), but there is nowhere "applications" section as at least 2 sources says, so I can remove app. I'm guessing this is due to missing so-called "extension providers". On main screen of Interop Tools there is option called "Get extensions", but it redirects to some website with basic auth / htaccess in domain insidewindows.net so i'm unable to download anything.
Is there anyway you could help me kick this off, so I can reinstall weather widget? I would be grateful for some easy steps if possible, cause I'm obviously missing something and feel really dumb because of it :/
Uninstall the weather app using Interop tools
and then install it from store
