Measure mAh after replace battery. - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody. I replace my battery for new. But after some hours every app which measure mAh show nothing or only 283 mAh. Where is the error? Phone is functional.
Odesláno z mého ASUS_Z00A pomocí Tapatalk

It's your charger, probably the USB cable.

Not in charge. I mean in normal use. Before I replace old battery my phone shows how much mAh app or phone using. After replace battery phone show only 283 mAh. I don't know what cause this error.
Odesláno z mého ASUS_Z00A pomocí Tapatalk

If it's not charging and it consumes too much current per hour it means it's draining fast.. it is still unclear to me what you are trying to say, can I have a screen shot of your findings?

Current and average consumption is wrong, but phone don't consume the same energy every time.

Sorry for my English. I don't know how explain this.

*Is your app accurate? Maybe you can try a different app
*Try to charge it while that app is open and observe if the readings will change.
*Try to set the brightness to full while playing a loud music simultaneously and observe the readings.
* If you have a clamp meter you can measure the actual current consumption of your phone.
*Where did you bought your battery?

I try Accubattery app. After replace old battery, app work for a while. But after some hours won't show consumption and won't calibrate. When I try gsam battery app, show only 283 mAh consumption. Every app show only, this value. I don't know why. When I charging phone apps show good value mAh.
I bought original battery from asus on Mironet.cz C11P1424

Preferably and to be on the safe side and to get maximum performance from any new battery , it is better to return to stock for atleast 5-10 full battery cycles
Its a must to have decent battery longevity :good: before considering custom roms again.

Oh, thanks

Hi everybody again. I thinking about my problem every day. I have a progress. You can see current ampere value, but I see only this value. Maybe when I remove old battery for new I do something with battery sensor which calculate this value, because when I had old battery, I don't have this problem. Please somebody try this app and report to me if you have this problem too. Many thanks. http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/58c2ff4b43bd4/Screenshot_20170310-201423.png?

Left the phone idle after I pulled the charger. Came back and it's already below 90% (87) I haven't used any apps,as you see only the usual stuff show up.

Researched a bit and heard cell standby could be the issue, are mine normal? Can't tell.
How long was it off the charger for? Also I would be more worried about wifi, if your actually using wifi then yeah leave it turned on but if you're letting the phone just sit there I would try turning it off but I don't user wifi so I'm not sure. You can also try turning the brightness settings down.other then that it looks normal to me.
Sent from my R800x using XDA
Brightness is always below 50%,I keep around 25%.
So 2 hours off the charger, wifi on and idle,87% is normal? Everytime I turn it on just to check the battery it drops 2%, I don't think that's normal.
Honestly that's probably normal if you were away for an hour or so or if you left wifi on. Battery life also depends on which kernel you're using as well.

I'm using DooMKernel v14
Installed Juice Defender, did some tests and just after I unplug, it took a while to go down to 99% took 10 minutes while watching YouTube on 3G but as it got down to 95 % the battery just drains quickly , went to 85% in 5 minutes while browsing the web

i noticed the same thing
i lost my old charger so i bought a new one and thats when i first started having this issue.
phone would seem to charge faster than before but died faster as well when using this charger. (this was my work charger). at home i use laptop to charge and takes longer but lasts longer.
also noticed phone got warmer when charging at work. so i returned that charger and got a different one and problem solved.
so if your using a different charger recently a new one may help
WiFi seems the culprit. Maybe Google how to set the wifi scanning interval

I'll try a different charger. The phone does get hot when plugged in.
Better Battery stats.
I'll bet one of your apps (a wifi app) isnt sleeping, and thats why you are losing the battery.

Battery life issue?

Hi,
So my phone battery was pretty off today and I checked my battery usage. This is the result.
Any ideas? It doesn't look like anything out of the ordinary on running apps...

are you running stock?
are you rooted?
If you have recently flashed a new ROM, its common for the battery % to get thrown off. There are battery calibration apps on the market to fix it.
If you are running stock, then charge it for a full 8 hours minimum. Run it all the way dead, til it turns off. Then charge it a full 8 hours again.

Negative ghostrider. The battery calibration apps are 100℅ snake oil. They do nothing that unplugging the phone after a charge does not do. Also, wiping battery starts after flashing a rom is pointless since it not only has nothing at all to do with indication, but that is also a clean slate when flashed. The old advice to do this was based upon folds not understanding how both the operating system and the battery's fuel gauge operate.
Also, I wouldn't advise doing the second one too often as it shortens the life of the battery. Discharge to the point of shutdown is unhealthy for it and full charge/discharge cycles shorten its serviceable lifespan.
OP- It would seem that your phone is awake significantly more than it should be if you weren't using it all that much. Google Services should account for less battery use than it is, and idle should account for more. A screenshot of battery use with more details would prover to be very useful. Also, you can use the app BetterBatteryStats to get some insight as to what may or may not be misbehaving.

I've flashed CM 10.1, using the 28th of December nightly.
Hoping it was just the nightly that caused it, but it's gotten worse throughout the day.

My best guess is that it may be location services draining your battery.

Just disabled it in maps. Is it possible that it turned itself on somehow? I haven't had this problem until today.
Also, would there be a reason why the stock messaging app font size is almost double the size? I ended up installing the 'alex' font to make it a bit smaller, but it's still big in comparison to what it used to be.

How can you tell if it's charging "quickly" vs "regular" AC?

I've seen a picture somewhere that shows the phone displaying "charging rapidly" at the bottom of the lock screen. I think it was on droid life. I'm plugged in with the included charger & cable and it only says simply "charging"... Is something wrong, am I missing something, anyone know?
Found it, here's the picture I'm referring to from droid life:

When plugged what percentage was your battery? If it was close to full 85-99%, I don't think fast charging is on anymore.
Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5.
It might be that the phone needs to be nearly dead in order to take advantage of the quick charge feature.
I was at 27%... That sure as hell seems low enough to be in the area of the curve that's still charges at near maximum rate. I would have expected things to taper off closer to 60%

That is strange. Definitely should say rapidly charging then.

There is probably a set of requirements that need to be met before rapid charge starts, such as how flat or full the battery already is, and it's temperature. Perhaps it was quite warm from use?
I've seen rapid charging once on my Nexus 5, not seen it again yet. Although even if just AC charging, it ticks up pretty fast.

Phil
I plugged my phone into a standard plug using a USB a to c and it said charing rapidly... I thought only USB C plugs worked?

Try another outlet somewhere else. I've found some outlets in my home, like the ones near major appliances, don't have the same current as some other outlets. Just a thought.
Check the amperage of the charger with ampere app from play store. It's been designed exatcly for that.

new battery on mu note 10.1 2014 ed

Yesterday they put a new battery in my note 10.1 2014 ed but therea re some "maybe" strange things I noticed
I usualy use accubattery app and with the old battery I get (power life battery 4623 mAh with this new one instead I have 3369 mAh) first thing strange.Second thing strange..Powering up the first time (without any rechage ) I got the power of the battery 40% ) so my question is (just to be shure they habe put realy a new battery inside...How can be sure 100% that the battery is new? There is an app for android that is able to tell me 100% the real capacity of the battery I have inside my note 10.1 2014 ed?
When I get a "new battery" I neade to calibrate it r something similar yes or no?
Any help will be apreciated
Take care
Helen
PS:After cleaning up my tablet and reinstallimg lollipop I have now at 100% with accubattery 2920 mAh or is getting "crazy" the app or..I dont know what to do
Hello,
I have the same tablet and the capacity of the battery is 8220 mAh. Your numbers seem rather strange. I use 3C toolbox which is able to evaluate the real capacity of the battery from a full charge/discharge cycle.

I think its just a bug, mine seems to stay on 100% for a long time too. It does drop eventually. The battery life is very good on this phone though. I've never had it run out during a day yet. It does seem to better reflect battery use at it gets lower.

Yes you are right after 90 minutes it's dropped to 99 and 98, I thought I have to restart to get correct reading but didn't

I have same issue. Stays at 100% after 30mins or more of usage. As soon at it drops to 98% battery drain becomes normal.
I did the calibration reset code *#0228# and it didn't change a thing.
Battery life is good on this phone but nothing impressive.
Probably needs a few charge cycles for the battery to calibrate properly, happened to me too.
Still going strong, no power saving , 4g all the time , Bluetooth all the time, alot of games, Facebook and YouTube

this phone is excellent on battery life.
when i first used it and charged it to 100%, I noticed the same thing, and was confused, checked to see if the phone froze, etc. But then I started to feel invincible from the overabundance of power. LOL.
