[ASK] Cant install play store on CM 10

excuse me, i downloaded cm 10 ROM's, and first i want to install play store, ofc i directly downloaded google play store apk, after i install that apk, google play store wont open, i already reboot, reinstall, and try to download from another source but play store still wont open, any1 can help me please?

You need to flash gapps
The gapps link is on the cm10 post

and find something called as gapps
this file is necessary to be flashd to get ur playstore back...... it will be in the thread

I just installed Google Now Launcher on Android 4.0.4 ICS and unfortunately I can not run the Launcher because it requires updating Google search

nevermind, thanks it works!

I am sorry but google search means google now 3.0.and up.
You are not able to use google home due to this reason.
Google Now Launcher needs a google ics rom and google now to work.
I am still trying to make google now 3.0 for ics.
I will upload the modded apk in future if successful.
Please rechek this thread every 2 weeks.

I installed the Google home it says placeholder:google search not found
Then in the other app google now laucher needs to update google search to v3.0 ,without this it's totally useless

Just flash it brotha! That was for manually pushing it to your device, which isn't needed anymore with the flashable
To ensure you're on v5.0.32 go into Google Play then settings and the last thing in setting should be "Build Version 5.0.32"!

Updated to latest Play Store v5.0.37

can you post latest google play services............

Minor update to v5.0.38, probably just a little bug fix.

Hmmm... try wiping cache and data for play store or go into recovery and wipe cache & dalvik cache.

Just the opposite for me.
Google Play Services is hell bent on picking the version it wants and self-updates no matter what I choose. I used to have this problem with Team Blackout's version on my S3.
So.....it keeps going back to an older version. The Play Store is okay.

I used Titanium Backup Pro
Flashed Only The Rom And Not the Update.
Backed Up Play Store and Services.
Uninstalled Both and Re-installed them Again Through Titanium Backup.

There is a gameeloft issue with canvas 4 eg.Mc 4 not working.Almost all Gameloft games aren't working Please fix this issue although I haven't tried Mc4 after installing this ROM I will try n tell you.Hope my boot image and charger animation is fixed coz I messed up boot image and switched off charger animation by previously installed custom ROM .

I was too facing the same issue. Just download the update and flash manually through recovery but I wouldn't recommend it as when I did so the rom upgraded to V3.2 and the Play Store & Services started FCing:silly:

Android L Launcher is good, but
If i want to use the default stock launcher for canvas 4 what to do ?
I really need this sorted out. Its stock rom so atleast stock launcher should come with it rather than L launcher, or even if L launcher is better there should be no need of removing the stock launcher,
PLS PROVIDE A SOLUTION FOR THIS

Copy the stock launcher from stock rom. Put it in system/app/.. Chqnge the permission to r-w-r-r. Reboot and enjoy.. U can also install stock launcher and normal app..

All the features working well and smooth just like it should run in stock v3
but after update v1.2, the stock default launcher is missing and is replaced by L launcher. What if I need to use the stock launcher of Canvas 4 ?
How do I switch the launcher ? Have u removed the stock launcher ? If yes, then how to find the APK of it so as to install it again and whats the procedure ?

Download v3 rom again not update and extarct then go to system, app then find luncher2 apk and copy to your phone sd after that go your device, system, app and past it and reboot your device... U done

Lol.. U can get stock launcher on google easily.. If still u r nt able to find tht mail me i will make a flashable zip of stock launcher...

no bro when i update rom v1.2 maps related apps doesn't work..
but google maps work on old versions when i update maps and open getting error unfortunately google maps has stoped and one more problem am facing after update the vpn apps like pshiphon not working

This is a simple tweak to get google assistant working on your device.

Yes bro I agree with you! I used android N-ify in marshmallow which has most of the nougat features including google assistant.

Paste code in build.pro
Download apk and paste it to system/app
Restart
Long press home button starts google now

You can use Lucky Patcher, select the app then tap on "Move to /system/app"

It should work then, even I had the same issue but after updating, it's working like a charm.

It says no space available when I try to convert it to system app. What should I do ?

What I did was :
Install Pixel Launcher, move it to system.
Install Google App, move it to system
Update Build.prop
(I used Kernel Adiutor to update it, Open KA, goto Buil prop Editor, click on that small (+) symbol, select "Add", in "Key" add the name like "ro.xxx.xxx" and in value "Enable" and enter both the attributes. Done there.)
Restart
Update Google App from play store.

You can uninstall (delete) useless system apps from /System/App and /System/Priv-App since the memory allocated to the system is really small in your case mostly, changing which is really a tedious work to do.
You can do:
Install Google Keyboard and delete default Keyboard (folder named as LatinMe)
Remove FM Radio
Remove "AntHAL" if you don't use fitness devices
Remove CM File Manager, instead you can use ES File Explorer Pro
Install Chrome and remove default Browser.

What gapps did you use bro! Use open gapps pico version. I was left with some 70 mb of system space after I flashed it (without removing any apps).

I couldn't even install newer version of open gapps so I had to flash another one (which I don't know from where I got it) and I also installed pixel launcher in the system.

I uninstalled some system apps and tried to make Google app as system app and it failed again. And when I checked my root directory it was full (only leaving 4bits)

i Got it working even with screen off using the xposed module assistant enabler on latest RR build.
not able to flash nano gapps due to linsufficient storage, so flashed pico

2. flashed the google app zip from the nougat thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/guide-how-to-enable-google-assistant-t3477879
foollow the steps specified in the module.

Tell us if you had it working on cm 14 and above roms. Coz this tweak is exclusively for android 7.0 and above

I don't know about cm14 as I'm still on RR marshmallow. And I've mentioned only to flash Google app not other files from that thread
