I was just able to get what seems to be the last fire tv in amazons surplus through their prime now app. I set it up everything went fine then I clicked to update it and it did the normal update process until I looked up and saw a black screen. I unplugged the unit and replugged it and now all I get is amazon logo then black screen. Is there anyway to fix this I was really excited about having the last fire tv. Something I just discovered is that I can still connect wirelessly to the unit via adb.. I just restarted it. I dunno if this can help anything.

To fix the black screen/blank screen, we use the following steps to troubleshoot it:\
Your FireTV went to sleep and you just need to wake it up. You can wake up your FireTV by pressing the “Back” button on the remote.
Try the Fire TV Remote Shortcuts to see if one of them will wake up your Fire TV.
On the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00NO8JJZW” locale=”US” tag=”arizonacaorg-20″]Fire TV Remote[/easyazon_link], hold the REVERSE (or “rewind”) button and the UP button at the same time for 10 seconds. Your FireTV should start switching through the different video display modes (or resolutions). You can expect the light on your TV to change colors and/or blink. When it switches to a display resolution that works, press the SELECT button to select that mode. This will fix your display issue if your fireTV happens to be set to a video resolution not supported by the TV you have it plugged into.
Your FireTV needs to be reset to the factory default settings. To do this, press BACK and REVERSE and RIGHT and SELECT to get your FireTV to prompt you to do a factory reset.
Your FireTV is deceased. If you tried #1 and #2 above, perhaps your Firestick has perished.
You could be forcing a screen resolution such as [easyazon_link identifier=”B00V0923TG” locale=”US” tag=”arizonacaorg-20″]1080p[/easyazon_link] 60Hz. Try changing the display settings back to Auto, No Scaling (by hooking the FireTV to a [easyazon_link identifier=”B01CF3L3RS” locale=”US” tag=”arizonacaorg-20″]TV[/easyazon_link] that it’s known to work on).
Press SELECT & PLAY (Hold the buttons down for 5 or 10 Seconds) to restart your FireTV / firestick.
I hope it will help you out.
Hi I have a problem with my Aftv. When it boots I see the Amazon logo then the screen either goes black or I get a lots of fuzzy dots . It sounds like it's still responding to the remote as I can here it clicking . Tried resetting and no joy . It showed the screen saying it was resseting but went blanked again after that . Any help would be great .
Hi, last night my fire stick was working fine and all of a sudden it reverted back to the home screen but wouldn’t load, it’s just a black screen with (search, home, your videos etc...) at the top of the screen and the 3 dot loading icon at the bottom. I’ve tried unplugging and plugging in, restarting the device but it’s still the same.
Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks.

You may get that if it is unable to connect to your Internet
Check your network settings - restart the router
Hi Folks,
got a Amazon Fire TV Box Gen 2 (Model DV83YW) which hangs on the white amazon logo with black background. Front light pulses slow white 3-4 times and turns in quick orange 3-4 times in a endless loop.
I’ve tried different TVs with different HDMI ports and another power supply with no luck.
It is possible to reset the box via right circle + back button over the remote. The box restarts and shows “Resetting your Fire TV, Please do not unplug power cable during the update”. After it’s finished it restarts again with only white amazon logo and black background and pulsing front light. After this reset I always have to pair the remote over pressing left circle + menu + back button on the remote.
If I plug in a network cable it appears on my network management as "amazon-5c2b6dfed.fritz.box" with IP and Mac-Adress. When I try to connect via adbLink it is not possible over the IP-address shown on my network. It says “Can`t connect to <IP-Adress>”. I have a USB-A to USB-A cable to connect with my MacBook Pro but adbLink wants the serial number as adress to connect via USB and I have no idea where to get the serial number.
I have no idea which OS or version is on the box.
Any ideas how I can bring it back to life?
Cheers
Amazon Fire TV DV83YW My device was plugged in the evening, I plugged it back in the morning, the red text appears, I waited for a long time when it was plugged in, but it did not turn on. Help me how to fix
Recovery via a USB Keyboard and Recovery via the Fire TV Remote these methods did not work, did not change
