Hey guys, i just did a clean flash of PureNexus rom and ElementalX kernal and i noticed that my standby time is terrible. After downloading better battery stats i noticed that the phone is actually not going into sleep mode ever. the wakelock is listed as "CMWakeLock" and its related to google play services. Does anybody know anything about this? I tried installing greenify and using the greenify system apps option but that has not helped anything.

Hi guys! i need help, i have a seriously battery drain problem with the process "Android System", it consumes more than the screen! i tried everything to fix it but nothing works, i'm using latest bubor's cm11 kitkat rom, somebody have an idea...? my battery lasts 5 hours max, will appreciate some help! thanks!
try bubor's last CM11, there is fix for battery drain.
New member, please elaborate!
I too am having this problem. Unfortunately, I am not a developer or an advanced user. I am good with doing what I know, but do not have any developing experience or education. I saw that Bubor's cm11 was recommended on this which is the exact problem I have, but I'm not sure what that even means. If you can help me, that would be great! Thanks!

I am having battery problems too ,its kernel related, phone wake up too frequent and consumes battery..a way to fix it is with this app http://repo.xposed.info/module/org.t2k269.perapphacking with xposed installer installed.
You need to limit wakelock on apps that might wake your device it will give you some battery life.
Try greenify in google playstore. you can then define which app you want
to suspend.
Synchronization intervals can also be a problem!
Edit;
sorry i read again and you talk about android-system as the main process. That alone isn't enough to find out the root cause. You need to install an app like better battery stats or opg pro to find out the reason behind.
There you can see the apps causing so called "wakelocks". Those wakelocks prevents your device from sleeping which then causes high battery drain. So after you identified the app or apps use greenify to suspend them if you can (that means suspending a chat tool like whatsapp will prevent to receive messages until you start whatsapp manually).
Of course the kernel is a major thing when it comes to battery drain (e.g. bugs in wifi module etc) so it may be necessary to use another kernel or ROM but first of all i would recommend to start the above way.

Hello. I've recently installed CM 13 on my phone (great ROM btw thx devs). The Android OS drain of the stock ROM has gone away and the performance is much better. It also uses approximately 3%/min when being used with medium load. However, the idle battery drain is atrocious (I believe this also applies to the stock ROM). The phone uses about 5% every hour when connected to 3G (displaying 4~5 bars), Bluetooth and WiFI on. Because of this, the battery life suffers greatly.
So the questions that I have are:
1. What cause this battery drain? Google Play Services? With clean flash, no Gapps, nothing installed doesn't have this drain. So I'm suspecting it's to do with Google Play Services or the background processes being managed incorrectly.
2. Is there a way to fix it? Custom Kernels? Amplify? (I know that you're supposed to clean flash and provide logs to devs, but the thread is more about how to fix it so yeah)
Thank you in advance!!
Battery drain happens mostly from Google Apps and Facebook and Messenger. I uninstalled most of Gapps and Facebook and installed Greenify, PowernNap, Amplify and the battery drain is gone.

Hi, guys. This is my first post and I am sorry if I miss any protocol before posting this thread. I wonder if there is anyone who faces similar wakelock problem as me? I just rooted my Note 2 and installed deep sleep battery saver two days ago. I have been consistently monitoring my device mode with wakelock detector. The saver app works well and helps my Note 2 to get into deep sleep mode most of the time but sometimes it doesn't work at all and my device is left awoken. I don't know if there are bugs in the saver app or not but I think I might be able to reproduce the wakelock issue by simply toggling my device from "Sound" to "Silent" and back to "Sound" again or by plugging in my earphone then plugging out again. Sometimes, charging the device can reproduce the issue. Is that possible that the issue has to do with kernel wakelocks? So far, I have consistently monitored the CPU wakelocks but I haven't seen any significance from CPU wakelock that might cause the issue. Besides, I also haven't monitored the kernel wakelocks details provided by wakelock detector yet, maybe I should monitor them too just as the CPU wakelocks. Anyway, I hope there are kind replies from the forum users regarding this issue. Thanks and Regards.
The temporary solution for me is to restart my device.
okay so if you are rooted why not install greenify and amplify apps with xposed installer.
deep sleep battery save doesn't works as good as greenify and amplify together.
as for your wakelocks problem, monitoring apps themselves keep wakelocks to gather stats.
my advice is to uninstall all useless app ,use greenify and amplify, use better battery stats ONLY if you must monitor battery(its shows you all wakelocks, cpu states, deep sleep time and other stuff)
and above all dont be ridiculously worried about your battery %age

Thank You for your kind reply. I tried Greenify once but I don't think I like it much as it didn't work for me at all when I was using it individually without Amplify. So far, I have not tried to reinstall it and use it concurrently with Amplify. As for Amplify, if I am not mistaken, the free version only may let me control very few wakelocks only (I could be wrong) based on what I read from the description in Google Store. Deep Sleep Battery Saver, on the other hand, is free and it works well most of the time.

its personal preference to use whichever method to save battery ,but greenify works for most folks.
and combine it with amplify, they sort of cover each other backs
i installed deep sleep battery app on my note 2 and core 2 phone and its didn't worked at all on note 2 but works surprisingly well on core 2 phone.
yeh amplify free version blocks most of wakelocks, and usually these are mostly what drain battery the most. if you have app whose wakelocks you need to block manually, you can go pro-amplify
regarding your greenify mileage, bro you need to configure it correctly and grand it administrator and other access manually, and use it with xposed framework for best functionality
i know it sounds like a lot of work ,but once done, you can sit back knowing that things have been taken care of.
good luck on your battery saving quest.
Since about 4 months, I have been facing very bad battery drain due to Google play services. It emerged out of nowhere. And is now refusing to go back.
It consumes upto 1/3 of battery, always tops the SHOW FULL DEVICE USAGE section in battery stats, and often eats upto 3x the screen.
I face it on every custom ROM and sometimes on oos as well. It can't be a custom ROM issue, as no one else is facing them. I am sure of it.
I have 4G data on 24 hrs. Most of the apps installed are those which are famous or have good reviews on play store. Battery stats show no app behaving usually. I do not use location. I haven't disabled any apps. Wifi scanning is off as well.
I have tried greenify, naptime, gms doze magisk module, disabling several of the permissions of play services. Have also tried blocking one or 2 wakelocks and alarms. I have tried turning off find my device, Google account syncs, play protect, disability play services, uninstalling and reinstalling its latest version, clearing caches and other common suggestions spread over google. Someone suggested me using latest codeworkx twrp. I have tried that also..
You can see the apps I have installed in the attached ss.
Please help. I am really tired now. Don't know what to do.
Thank you.
Anyone please?
is there any way to find out (debug) which app is causing google play services to drain battery in background ?
apart from trial and error of course ?
I got 1-2%/hour drain from this thing alone. even when deep sleep is enabled
disabled everything possible from location access
This also interests me. The battery is unbelievably bad no matter what I do.
this is my usage today. tried taking out truecaller. same drain.
no way to diagnose this? even tried betterbatterystats
nothing unusual there
anyone can post google play services drain on s22 exynos?
Only by rooting the phone can you get the play services to doze. This would take care of the issue.
strange. usually this is a very low percentage/day for my apps.
dont know what triggers it to consume this amount of resources on the s22
try resetting cache/data / wiped cache partition , nothing seems to work
I definitely ordered the snapdragon version from wondamobile....
gsam battery monitor with better battery stats permission given will give some information at least about Play Services wakelocks
That is killing my battery also. But I dont want to root. any other fix ?
Best fix in long term would be an OTA update I think. Providing Samsung is working on that
I have the same problem after using the Universal Android Debloater recommended list.
