Htc rapid charge 3.0 - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello people,
I have an issue in which I hope you can help.
I was looking around ebay to buy an HTC Rapid Charger 2.0.
However I could not find the original one (which I prefer for safety reasons) for European plug but only for UK plugs.
That been said I can find the HTC Rapid Charger 3.0 for European plug and I was wondering if that can be used to fast charge my M9 without any problem.
I am aware that M9 will not fully use the 3.0 version but I am ok even if it charges as fast as the 2.0 which fine as I could probably use the 3.0 for my next upgrade to the HTC 11 (or ocean or what ever) when this comes around.
So what do you think 3.0 will work with the M9?
Thanks in advance for your help

I'm 99% sure that quick charge 3.0 is backwards compatible with 2.0 so it should work.

Quick Charge 3.0 is "100 percent backward-compatible with Quick Charge 1.0 and Quick Charge 2.0 devices".
I use several QC 3.0 devices with my M9 and the expected rapid charging (at QC 2.0 rates) works perfectly.

I'm using an Aukey QC 3.0 Charger... working perfect on my A9 (which is 3.0 compatible) and my girlfriend M9 (2.0, working great too...)

I am using fast charger 3.0 and is compatible for Htc One m9

quick charge 2.0

Does the M8S support quick charge 2.0 ? I know that it is shipped with snapdragon 615 which support quick charge 2.0 but when I asked in quora last night , people told me that quick charge 2.0 needs other hardware components beside the processor , did anyone try charging the M8S with a certified qualcomm quick charge 2.0 ? I want to know if it works before I buy a quick charger .

i dont think so bcoz M8 also dont support quick charging
M8 supports Quick Charge 2.0. I use it for a year now with a Aukey Qualcomm 2.0 certifited charger. The M8S on the other hand needs testing. I didn't get a good answer online but it's out there somewhere in a review of the device.
No it doesn't have! Max current taken from charger is 1,5 A.
Had both phones and was tested on charger with info for current. On M8s I couldn't get more then 1.4-1.5A.
On M8 it goes easy to 1.9-2.0A
Also on some spec I found to have 1.5A Max current change. Don't find now the info where I've seen

i have m8s unlocked in uk. it definitely supports quick charge 2.0. i have Aukey quick charge 2.0 uk mains p/n uk001 and also an Aukey 10400mAh battery quick charge 2.0 p/n pb-t1 .
Both are extremely quick about 60mins 0-100% the battery will give about 3.5 full charges which is nice.
Would also say i think it has helped with the overall health of the battery, Good times as its sealed in there.

Does anyone use a Xiaomi 10000mah Powerbank Pro with this?

Sorry for such a specific question, but does anyone by chance own a Xiaomi 10000mah Powerbank Pro (the 2016 dark grey one with QuickCharge 2.0), and can confirm that the QuickCharge 2.0 works with the HTC 10?
Reason I'm asking is because of the included Type C cable. EVERY Type C cable I have tried did not work with the stock QC3.0 plug. So I want to make sure that I can charge this phone with the QC2.0 feature before buying it.

QC 2.0 shouldn't be a problem.. furthermore you might be able to make two full charges of hTc 10 with the aforementioned power bank..
Sent from quite brutal hTc 10 ..

Gotcha buddy, and yep it works! Just got it after work, and it quickcharges like a charm!
Only thing bugging me is the included wire tho, should have just given me two wires instead of putting a type C adapter on a microusb cable... oh well at least it works!

Anyone know if a Htc 10 3.0 quick charger will work fine on pixel xl ?

Does anyone happen to know if the pixel xl will charge properly off of a htc 10 3.0 quick charger ? And if the htc 10 USB-C cable will also work fine for pixel xl. I looked it up but I did not really find any definitive answers. I have multiple oem htc 3.0 quick chargers that I got on an accessories rebate from htc a while back and I have multiple oem htc 10 cables. I just wanted to be sure I"am guessing yes since the 821 processor is 3.0 compliant but google turned it off I believe ? But shouldnt the 3.0 chargers still only charge what the pixel xl wants to take ?

It will charge as if you connected it to a regular charger. It will not negotiate proprietary charging, unless the charger is also usb c power delivery compliant and you have the appropriate cable.

OK thanks. I just was not sure if it would try to charge more than the 18 watts that pixel xl is supposed to accept at most. I assumed it would be OK but I would still have a thought about it.
I'll be honest, the spare HTC 10 charger I have works way better than the one Google included. I charge it at my office with the HTC 10 one, charges fast, perhaps in an hour and a half. Whereas I am actually having issues with my actual Pixel XL charger. I don't know if it's faulty or what.

Try switching cables, few have mentioned having issues with the pixel's cable being faulty.
I have a HTC QC2.0 charger in my office, I usually charge my phone when battery about 70%. the input is about 5V 1A.
I don't have type C current meter to check the stock charger. But when I compare to my previous phone which is s7 edge. it's easy to feel that the speed is slower. and USB-PD charger is so hard to found.

Quick Charge?

I bought Aukey PA-28 for using quick charge 2.0 on my device (M8 Harman with S-team rom) but while charging, it's doesn't show "quick, or fast charging" on the screen, it just show "charging"!
What's happen?
Thanks so much!
This device doesn't actually indicate any different charging (Quick, etc.) on the screen. But as long as the charger is officially QC 2.0 (or also QC3.0, but it will charge at 2.0 speed) and has the QC logo (green lighting bold) or says "QuickCharge 2.0" on it, it will work properly. The only way you will know, is that it will charge much faster than the "stock" charger that came with the phone.
Thanks so much! I've been testing that! It's working correctly!
Thanks!

Is Xiaomi Quick Charger 3.0 okay?

I am really upset with my htc 10. It's battery is not okay. Yes it does charging so fast, but It lose charge so fast too.
What is the main problem of it???
And I use a normal HTC 3 pin Charger. I don't have qualcomm 3.0. And its difficult to found in my country.
Can I use Xiaomi Charger 3.0 for my HTC???
Don't know about the Xiaomi charger, although in theory, any certified Quick Charge 3 charger should work (as long as you use a good cable). And the phone is backwards compatible with older charging technology.
I am using my old HTC charger from the ONE V. It is just a normal 5V 1.0 A charger (USB 2.0 spec) and it worked. (I am doing that since I don't need the quick charge, and I figure the slower charging with lower battery temp might prolong its life.) A Quick Charge 2 charger (Samsung), and a USB 3.0 fast charger (5V, 2.4 A) also worked in my case.
