Battery drain, caused by kernel/system? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey,
I'm running my custom rom based on the latest beta 7.1.2 and since couple of days I'm having troubles with wakelocks on almost every rom I could be running. I've tried on stock kernel (mid battery life when using, no doze, about 3% lose at night) and elementarx (ya I know it's for 7.1.1 not a 7.1.2 but it works, good battery life when using but drain while screen off)
I've just made a logcat running stock kernel. I have almost no Google apps installed cause I rid 'em. On every rom I had been running wakelock line is the same and related to the same source and I have no idea how to solve it.
Here's kernel logcat (everything over wifi):
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0yHhFX-ynZqRVZ6a2FQeDhSQ2s/view?usp=drivesdk
For all the time I see qcom_rx_ wakelock
And here's all the log logcat

Here are detailed wakelocks from wakelock detector:

It seems that interface doesn't let it doze, but I haven't modified this. Have you got guys any ideas?
I've already reinstalled rom, I had been running another customs with similar effect, I was even fully stock with locked bootloader and there phone was dozing but battery sucked anyway.
So?
Bests

4.2/4.3/4.4 rom without blackscreen bug on s6d27a

LIke in title. Im looking for build on which i can OC cpu to 1,2 (dont care bout gpu) which have nice battery life and blackscreen bug doesnt appear on it. I had for while such rom+kernel but ive lost data on phone and dont have backup so and cant remember what i was using.
Try ace2nutzer's kernel. I don't have blackscreen problems on this kernel. You can find in on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-ace/ace-2-develop/kernel-ace2nutzer-kernel-20141027-t2920365
It still happens but more rarely, and now even if it happen its not like in old bug - after 5-10 seconds screen is turning on.
thx
No problem mate.
This is bug on all custom kernels. ace2nutzer and Chronomonochrone trying create better performance for our display drivers.

Battery left getting worse.

Had amazing battery life when running the stock kitkat ROM and even when running early stock Lollipop builds. Now I'm struggling to get 5 hours out of the device with moderate usage - Streaming music, scrolling on social media apps and the occasional browse on the internet. Been having this issue for a while now but it's starting to get irritating when I have to carry a charger around with me like an Apple user, issue has been present on pretty much every ROM ranging from CM based and stock based which leads me to thinking it's a device problem.
Anyone know how I can check what's draining my battery as the battery stats doesn't really help, downloaded a wakelock detector but I can't make sense of it. Currently running ChupaChups 4.1 on a D855 model.
Cheers.

Huge battery drain on OOS4

Hi guys
I'm under OOS 4 (hyperstock 4) and i have a huge battery drain from "Android System"
I came from RR 7.1.1
Thx !
Same here, Android system and kernel are draining my battery. But it's funny, If restore my Beta 10 backup works great, no battery drain on the Beta.
Since OB9 my battery life is bad. I think this is due to the Google Play Services. They are not battery friendly. To reduce the drain, try to disable syncy to Google (if you don't use them) and also disable Google App, Google Now, the Google Voice thing, etc. (if you don't use them).
same here i try beta 9 and the battery drain was killer... i skip beta 10 and now i install the OS4 and the same with the battery drain. Ill go back to 3.2.8 if i dont get a solution.
Try Freedom OS 2.0 it has some battery patches.
...
OOS4 is Worst update ever... Much better options are OOS 3.2.8 or OPB10

Well, I have 2.79 SR1 and in standby it's quite OK, but while screen is on, it's draining a lot!

Not having such problems at all, battery is very solid for me.

Battery life with Beta 8 was quite good.Problem started with beta 9 where they introduced build in hibernation tool which still do not work as great as greenify.
Enable airplane mode. Reboot. Disable airplane mode and reboot. Fixed it for me.
If you're rooted, use SuperSU 2.79 stable from their site. SR1 has issues with battery drain.

I am not seeing any battery problems like what is being posted. This build seems solid to me. Maybe people need to check the apps they are running to find cause of drain.
I have a OP3 and 3T. Came from RR 7.1.1 on the OP3, clean flashed Beta 9. Battery was stellar. Flashed Beta 10, huge battery drain from Android System. Tried to reflash, restart, no Gapps running, etc. No luck. Ended up dirty flashing Beta 9, running perfect again with great battery life. I use pixel dark launcher, same result with this or stock OP launcher.
TWRP is 3.0.28, SU 2.79 sr1. I did try SU 2.78 sr5 as well.
I'm on official 4.0 with modified twrp. and super user 2.79 SR1. my battery seems okay i guess. it's just my voice call is eating the battery most. which I don't think is normal.
Debloat your OOS 4.0. I got mine with stock kernel and have 5hrs SOT with 31% remaining battery.
Project XANA mod btw.

LG G3 D855 16GB Bad battery make the phone laggy?

Hi to all XDA member before i start to explain my problem with my LG G3 i wanna say sorry if you see some grammatical english errors, so after selling my LG G2 i buy a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 six months ago but a few days ago i broke it and one my good friend gifted me his old phone because now he use a LG G5, the gifted phone of course is an LG G3 the versione of 2GB ram and 16GB memory space, he told me that the battery is old and consumed and that it would be better to replace it with a new one, yesterday i ordered a new original one what i want to ask now, the phone was alredy updated to last firmware for G3 (V30N 6.0) the battery of course from first moment i try it i see that is bad but the phone is laggy i mean i have lags everywhere, example when i scroll pages in the homescreen when i scroll pages options in settings, when i navigate in play store, when i try to play games like Piano Tiles 2 etc i have lags everywhere the phone run fast but the problem i have i repet its only lags, i tryed to downgrade to V30B but same thing i didnt try to downgrade to lollipop or kitkat, i rooted the 30B and then i tryed a custom firmware the Fulmics rom 6.9 same thing same lags nothing changed, before i decide to write here i watched videos comments etc on web and i see in every single video that the G3 all models with the stock 6.0 or with a custom firmware runs perfectly, my opinion is that the battery causes this laggy problem because of not correct power that the phone need to run smooth, is this possible? my free ram is about 300/400MB, to finish i have to say this last thing i remembered now when i open the camera sometimes the front camera show some green vetical lines on display to slove this i just make some pressure with finger on the camera and then the camera works normally and sometimes when i enter in camera app the button to swith rear/front camera just disappear if i reboot the phone the button come back of course i still have sometimes that vertical green lines sometimes i just open the front camera and the camera work fine, thank you all for your comments and helps.
I SEE NOW THAT I WRONG THE SECTION TO POST THIS QUESTION IM SORRY.
Tbh I doubt its battery related problem.

Weak Battery Life after installing 3rd party roms

I tried and installed AOSP, EU, Abhix and many port roms. In the end my battery life has fallen by half. My Redmi Note 5 Pro gives me only 4 hours of screen time. I have turned back to Stock MIUI 11.0.3 Global but no chance, still weak battery life. Is there any solution to this ?
Any idea ?
Which firmware version are you using ? Latest one ? I"ve heard it has some issues

miui_HMNote5Global_V11.0.3.0.PEIMIXM_ff4c5a6b1a_9.0 is what I use. There is also a stock rom called
miui_HMNote5Global_V12.0.2.0.PEIMIXM_e714180088_9.0.zip. Which one do you recommend ?
Unfortunately i haven"t updated my phone for almost 2 years and i"m currently using a AOSP rom, so i can"t check the firmware version im using :/
And how long have you been testing the roms ? Phone needs some time to settle down and optimise battery life

3 months I guess. How is AOSP rom ? How much screen time does it give ?
Three months for how many roms exacly ? Mebay too little time per rom has passed.
Have you performed a clean installs (wiping data) or dirty flashed rom over a rom ?
Im currently using ancient build of ArrowOS 11. The only things that i found not to work are WI-FI display and 1/8x slow-motion mode in Gcam (I don"t thing this one is ROM related).
Today i"ve scored most of the SOT using Total Commander (tidying up tons of old files) and scored 5h 35min of SOT.

The application called Naptime-battery saver (requires root) solved the problem to some extend. Now It does not drain the battery that much. I recommend it. But I need a real solution.
So the problem was in standby drain ?
From brief examination of google play decription - naptime forces doze mode to kick in faster. So there had to be and app/service running in the backgroud which was preventing the phone from entering doze mode.
You should try to find out which app was responsible for this.
Mebay google play services/playstore update ? I think google play icon has been changed today, so there must have been an update.
Naptime can be used without root as well, however some permissions using ADB have to be granted to make it work

It's beyond standby drain. It has only solved standby drain. When I wake up the screen, battery drain goes on. It's not about playstore, the problem has started since I installed custom rom. The mistery is why It cannot save the day although I reinstall the stock rom ? Ridiculous.
Pixelexperience is the solution. Battery life is much better than any other custom rom.
