LG G3 D855 16GB Bad battery make the phone laggy? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi to all XDA member before i start to explain my problem with my LG G3 i wanna say sorry if you see some grammatical english errors, so after selling my LG G2 i buy a Samsung Galaxy A5 2016 six months ago but a few days ago i broke it and one my good friend gifted me his old phone because now he use a LG G5, the gifted phone of course is an LG G3 the versione of 2GB ram and 16GB memory space, he told me that the battery is old and consumed and that it would be better to replace it with a new one, yesterday i ordered a new original one what i want to ask now, the phone was alredy updated to last firmware for G3 (V30N 6.0) the battery of course from first moment i try it i see that is bad but the phone is laggy i mean i have lags everywhere, example when i scroll pages in the homescreen when i scroll pages options in settings, when i navigate in play store, when i try to play games like Piano Tiles 2 etc i have lags everywhere the phone run fast but the problem i have i repet its only lags, i tryed to downgrade to V30B but same thing i didnt try to downgrade to lollipop or kitkat, i rooted the 30B and then i tryed a custom firmware the Fulmics rom 6.9 same thing same lags nothing changed, before i decide to write here i watched videos comments etc on web and i see in every single video that the G3 all models with the stock 6.0 or with a custom firmware runs perfectly, my opinion is that the battery causes this laggy problem because of not correct power that the phone need to run smooth, is this possible? my free ram is about 300/400MB, to finish i have to say this last thing i remembered now when i open the camera sometimes the front camera show some green vetical lines on display to slove this i just make some pressure with finger on the camera and then the camera works normally and sometimes when i enter in camera app the button to swith rear/front camera just disappear if i reboot the phone the button come back of course i still have sometimes that vertical green lines sometimes i just open the front camera and the camera work fine, thank you all for your comments and helps.
I SEE NOW THAT I WRONG THE SECTION TO POST THIS QUESTION IM SORRY.

Tbh I doubt its battery related problem.

[Q] My Desire HD is very slow?

Hi all,
I got my Desire HD about 4 weeks ago, and used it quite a lot, with barely any apps installed. (I never use app killers by the way) Over time i realised it was actually acting quite slow for a phone with it's spec, so i asked Vodafone and they sent me another one.
My new one, that i've had for 2 weeks now is still slow for what i would expect from a phone like this, and i'm not just being fussy either.
My friend has an X10 mini, and was showing me the other day, and i was shocked at how much more responsive and faster it is than my Desire HD, so i looked up lag issues and found xda developers.
I tried enabling USB debugging, checked for the latest update, rebooted etc.. it feels like i'm only getting, what... 25 frames per second at best? usually looks about 20 (in menus) when compared to my friends X10 mini, his looks as if it's easily scrolling up and down the drop down or popup menu with all of your apps in it, at 60 frames, (something above 30 anyway with NO lag whatsoever) and i have yet to flick my menu without seeing some degree of jitter while scrolling. I downloaded the Quadrant Benchmark and found I got 2002 Points, which when looked at in the graph.. there is no way the x10 mini could even scratch the DHD's score... so...
WHY does my phone feel sluggish? Is this normal or should I be concerned?
Thanks
-J
Here is what i did:
- Install ES Task Manager and add the widget and run it often. (Make sure to add the apps to the ignore list that you do not want to close)
- Remove as many widgets as possible from screen
- Install LauncherPro (It speeded things up a hell of alot for me)
- And most importantly, if your SD Card has a lot of stuff on it (Music etc) then delete as much as you can. The less on your SD Card the faster it will be.
I've Tried that...
Hey, before I wrote this, I tried formatting the phone and did a factory reset, the menu STILL lags and jitters quite a bit. Surely this isn't supposed to happen on a fresh version of the phone with NO user junk on there? and I've heard that task kilelrs are bad for the system, usually doing more damage than good.
Do you have anything on the SD Card?
I am not sure about that, the task manager on mine seems to be very good, i have stopped it from closing important apps which need to be open though.
Hmmm
No i don't have much on the SD, olny the files that the phone adds itself, i tried removing all of my user data already, still no sucess.
Try the task manager if you wish. It works perfectly fine for me and i have been using it for months.
OK
I just tried the task manager... made a little difference, but the menus still lag!
Try turning Auto Sync off for a while too... I am unsure why the menus are lagging. Mine seem fine. What menus lag?
The one where you tap the arrow in the bottom left, and all of your apps are on one page lags the worst. sometimes scrolling on the home screen too.
install launcherpro!!! the menu will ALLWAYS be laggy on ****ty HTC Roms..

What sort of setup do you have on your phone? What apps etc?
I don't have any performance issues with my stock DHD. I even have a bunch of widgets too.

Why would htc release a laggy OS? surely that isn't a very good selling point for their top device?
I don't think they did.

Yes, I have seen the lags in my 3 weeks old DHD. It is very annoying and I don't understand why HTC doesn't address the issues and only focus on new product development.

same here, i`m using stock rom 1.72 flashed via RUU, OP maybe try to back`up your rom and flash a custom rom like revo or leedroid and see how it is...
ok try watchtower
and see how much RAM is used.
try to use another ROM, not sure if your service provider accept it.
i am sure it is a software added by your provider, or some settings needed.
i would go to:
- format the SD card - don't forget to back it up
- full reset my phone
still same problem ..... find a clean ROM and flash it.

That is what I thought too! I think its your provider. Especially when getting new phone from the same provider and the laggs are still there. I would suggest to try another Rom. Clean from such ****ty provider Stuff.

I have 1 month old DHD, no lag so far on ordinary use.
But i notice 1 think that make it lag.
When i browse internet, HSDPA & 3g signal no problem, but when Edge signal, than lag start to happen, some time its hang few second!! & my DHD start heating warm under battery..
Even tho i click usb debug, stil lag.
Only way to make sure its not lag is to use only HSDPA & 3g signal while browse..
I use stock rom, no root.

Leedroid 3.0.8.2

I've had 3.0.8.2 A2SD GB version installed for a few days now and have only found a couple of issues that really annoy me. For some reason there is a green "hue" when you reach the extent of a vertical scroll. Is there any way of shutting this off because it's so annoying. Vertical scroll isn't as smooth as previous versions, maybe something to do with the green "hue" maybe? I don't know.
Apart from that, memory usage seems to be managed better and battery life is awesome. Last night I was on the Market downloading and installing for maybe two hours. Battery was 100% when I started but only down to 97% by the time I finished. No battery saving app used either.
Thanks for this version, I like it.
One other thing I just remembered, when the screen lock is activated or deactivated the homescreen appears/disappears in a motion that's very similar to an old tube tv being tuned on/off. It's awful and it looks like the phone is faulty. Any way of changing this?
As both nuisances here mentioned are features of Gingerbread, I think you'd be best off returning to froyo rom.
great rom by Leedroid, but I have a very annoying issue with it...
I can't send/receive text massages smoothly. It crashes my massage process: I receive a text massage, I reply to it and press back or home, and after this my phone freezes and pops force close or wait box to choose from. Any solutions how to fix it? Or idea who may cause this?
p.s. I send/receive over 2k massages per month
More likely to get a reply in leedroids thread mate

hi,
- this is blowing motion, inherited from sense rom 2.1, you can cook UOT theme and disabling this.
-U can avoid this motion with spare parts (included into LD rom) just set windows aimation to fast and it s gone.
hope this help

Graphics Stutter/Tearing

I have a Z1 Compact and if I change my lockscreen from xperia's native to AOSP or AcDisplay, as soon as I unlock the screen, screen tearing happens. (Vsync Disabled Effects). Like pulling the status bar down tears etc..
I tried to record this issue but I've observed that if there's a stress in the cpu/gpu the stutter/tearing goes away.
Specs:
Z1 Compact 4.4.4 (108)/ Deodex'd.
Z3 SystemUI & Home.
PS: I've tested this issue even with 4.4.4 base system apps/ui. Still the same issue, I wonder if it has anything to do with Sony's CPU Governor?
Quite amazed that it's just me having this issue.
Hey,
I know this was a while ago but did you ever find anything out on this?
I have had a display issue, and this is one of the few threads that sounds even remotely similar.
My post inc video are over at http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/help/z1-display-issue-touch-screen-common-t3073134

[Q] Discussion about LG G3 android system

Hi to all of you. I recently did buy a LG G3 with KitKat 4.4.2. Phone is awesome, battery lasts a lot for this screen over a day and a half (medium usage), without lagginess, maybe after restart it takes about 1 second to find everything but generally i am very happy with my purchcase. I have some questions though. Recently i got a OTA update about sth vcalled 20e. Its an update ~555mb and after some search i found out that this is the Lollipop official firmware. After plugging my phone into the LG PC Suite, i found out that even a newer version is available the 20f firmware ~over 1gb. Here starts my questions. Is it worth to go from kitkat to jellybean? Or is it better to stick with kitkat until they fix all the bugs i found out on forums. (So far i saw battery doesnt last so long, wireless charging has problems, lte doesnt work on most devices, others said about lagginess, most apps do not work with the new ART system). So what are your thoughts about this? Also i want to remove some google apps like google drive, and i want to remove this McAfee. Is there any possible way to do that easily without ruining my phone?

Stay on 4.4.2. Most of your research is correct - 5.0 is laggy, drains battery faster, there is "while on wireless charger, screen turns itself on constanly after charge reached 100%" bug, etc.
No, on 5.0 you can delete mcafee only via code from their support. And there is no way to delete Gapps wout root, which can only be obtained by flashing prerooted rom.
About apps - 99.9% of apps do work with ART. However, some - like Webkit-based apps - do crash sometimes.
About lte - only affects people who bought phones that were intended for different region. Region can be changed, btw, so it's not a real problem - it's just a ton of n00bs whining about "bug" they brought on themselves.

So you propose to stick with KitKat 4.4.2 and wait a couple of months until Lollipop gets better?, because i also heard the new art system is faster and more reliable. And generally the Lollipop is meant to be faster than kitkat. If you all advise me so, i will keep this thread open so that i can reply back or even ask more when the time comes

Well, i do advise to stick to 4.4.2 until LG fixes 5.0. However, there are thousands of members on xda. You may want to hear other's opinions before deciding anything.
P.S.: ART is faster than dalvik, there is no compilation-in-runtime overhead.
I'd wait and see if it eventually gets to 5.0.2. In earlier versions of LP, there is a memory leak that causes the system to slow down after awhile. 5.0.2 apparently fixes this. However, I have 5.0.2 on my Nexus 7 tablet and after awhile, I still notice performance issues that require a reboot, so I don't know if they really have the memory leak fixed or not. That's a pretty nasty bug that needs to be fixed before I install it on this phone.
Currently, KK runs great. And, if you want the LP look, you can do a few things:
Install Nova launcher and switch to LP icons
Install Xposed (which won't work on LP) and there is an Xposed module to give you the LP nav bar icons
KK on this phone runs great for me. No issues and I have no reason to go to LP at this time. Until they get the memory leak fixed, no dice for me. I love having a phone that doesn't require a reboot.
Agreed with most of the above. I actually upgraded mine to Lollipop. The experience was horrific. I went back to Kitkat and absolutely have no issues with the phone. It's a dream compared to Lollipop.
I also rooted and use the Tweaksbox to add lollipop styling. I won't be moving to lollipop again any time soon.

My advice is go for it. In my experience with the lollipop update all those little hick ups that appear occasionally (especially in animations and while pulling down notification bar) are gone. Lollipop is fluid and smooth, and rock stable. So far i haven't faced any FCs, glitches etc.. Everything is working fine (well, at least on my phone) and better than what it used to be on kitkat. Battery life is as good, if not even slightly better on lollipop.
I came from a nexus 5, and have been a nexus user for the last 3 generations, so i have high standards when it comes to lag and performance.
P.s. i have the 32gb/3gb RAM and i'm on stock firmware.
As an answer from LG Hellas, i got this: That the phone is working whole better and faster than kitkat (as lollipop), and that all errors are fixed. Also the lollipop update can use the whole processing power of the phone and as a result toghether with the art system, the phone is working better and faster with less battery drain than before. Also downgrading to their lg shops costs :/ . That was their answer to me.
I have a question for you guys. When i play a song sometimes particular songs show wrong album arts. And the correct are blurry. What size should i make them in order to show as good quality?
EDIT
Anything from 1000x1000 up to whatever you like you have some decent and good quality on any song. Because i found a problem and i think many of you out there have this problem as well. If some album arts display wrong, change that track's album to something.

G4 lags also in aosp rom

Maybe you could be more specific. Which variant do you use? What was the last stock ROM you were running? Where exactly do you experience the lag? What were you doing before experiencing lag? What type of lag do you mean? Long loading times? Low FPS (stutter)?
On absolutely stock ROM I also had problems. Then I switched to CM12.1 and there the whole system was slower. After that I switched back to custom stock lollipop and all problems are gone.
But I don't know why, maybe it's an kernel problem. (H815 unlocked)
Gesendet von meinem LG-H815 mit Tapatalk
I've lags means that apps takes 4/5 seconds to open, animations miss frames
That's weird, I'm living in heaven on CM12.1
Obviously a custom ROM that's not based on stock WILL be faster because of how little the system will put a load on the hardware. There's definitely something on your side slowing it down.
Got xposed flashed by any chance?
