Hi , my galaxy s3's power was lose and was working after applying much more pressure than required.
Now, when i pressed it yesterday , it was went inside and didn't came out , i had to manually bring it back outside.
The power broke itself in the pocket and now it's just empty space out there.
Can I get it fixed?
How much will it cost approximately
P.s : I am from India. So , any indian users, suggest me the approximate cost.
I have it repaired months ago for 5-6$ , don't worry. A little soldering work involves in repair, therefore i strongly recommend to have it repaired by a professional workshop.

Hi guys,
I dropped my phone in water
I just left it until it's being dry, I turned it on and its works but the touch become crazy
sometime work and sometime not until it's doesn't work at all = no touch
I've sent the device to Vodafone to repair it because the warranty associate with them .
And they said the device can't be fixed
Also the problem in the (Lower mother board).
I am really confused , I am not sure where is the problem coz one of my friend said ,
if the device work and just the touch does't work, then the problem will be in the touch screen only.
Thanks in advance for your help guys .
Water dammage is not covered by warranty, ever.
If the digitizer does not function its either that there is still water in the device and is causing a short, or part of the circutry for the digitizer is fried.
Pull the batt and place the device in a hot area (about 30-35 degrees centigrade, like inside a computer case for example) without the batt and covers on for a minimum 12 hours (24 hours recommended) (if you put it in the computer case, the computer has to be on, since it produces the heat needed).
Once complete, insert the battery and reassemble and hope it works again
If you are prepared to mess with your phones internals a new digitizer can be had for about £60. Its the top most layer of the screen which means that it is the thing at the absolute back when you open up your phone because your phone opens from the back first. I think I saw a guide on XDA somewhere for this phone. Might want to try searching for it.
Adding to JSLEnterprises' post, remove everything that can be removed from the phone prior to putting it in a hot place. Thats the battery cover, bottom cover, battery, sim card and memory card. Just to be on the safe side. You dont want anything else to go wrong now.
Thanks a lot for your help guys
I found this YouTube link about disassemble desire hd
And I am going to order the touch screen from eBay then I will try to find someone to do it for me , last time I opend my phone I broken it

Where do I get a new power button?
Not the part you push in the bezzel but inside the phone.
It was all moshy and soft and didnt work here one day so I opened it to discover that its craked .
So untik I get my hand on a new one I have to use a small screwdriver to short ths metal connectors to turn it on and off .
As I suspect this is warranty and will onky replave the swith with a new one and not replace the device for a new one I wont send it in hence it takes 3/5 weeks where I live.
Happy new year.
so, i had this motherboard problem about 8 months ago, where the phone thought i was docking it when i connected the charger, went to guarantee repairs, they changed the motherboard and it was ok for a while. then i got the problem with some parts of the touch screen not working on the bottom half, they changed the whole screen and the motherboard again, so why bother? why not give me a new phone? when i got it back last week, the volume up button was not working, i can change volume when i press volume down and slide it on my screen, but that's really annoying. i discovered this just today, because i didn't have a need to lower the volume since. what do you make of this? my concernes are, that when i take it back now, they're going to tell me that i broke it and i have to pay for the repairs, i'm really stuck with this :S, any suggestions?
I had your problem with vol button, it was a manufacturing defect and i've received a new hox.
However, I change it in the store the day after I bought it
yeah, but if i discovered it right away and took it back the same or the next day, i guess things would be different, any ideas on how should i approach the carrier with my problem?
Just take it back and cause a big scène in front of everybody about the crappy service & repair !!! Done this too many times already
Hello Guys,
the G4 of my girlfriend fell into the toilet (only water, nothing else ). This was 8 weeks ago, so i think, no more damage will come.
But: The Volume-Down button is not working good. I need to press it very hard to work. The Flexcable for the Buttons (with led and IR) costs 17 €. Can i just change it, or is it not possible?
I already changed the lcds of many phones and don't have two left hands
Thanks!
Hello, if it's under warranty you can try to make it repaired (for free?).
Anyway, it's really easy to replace the button switch/power. Check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6B4HQUSev0
For the external/visible part, you can get another one and change the color of volume/camera border.
I think there is no warranty for water dmg.
Thanks for the link. I will buy me a new flex cable
I have a 3-month-old Xiaomi Mi 6 that was working perfectly until Friday. I took it off the charger at around 9am, and by midday it had switched itself off. Now it's basically bricked; no amount of charging or holding power/volume button combos can wake it up. It's not detected by my PC over USB and display/notification light stays off. I'm currently leaving it off the charger for a few days in the hope it's a hard software lockup that needs the battery to drain before it will reset and power on again, but I'm not hopeful. I haven't had any water-related incidents with the phone, about the wettest it's gotten is in my shorts pocket at the gym, but I don't sweat much so pretty confident it's not water damage. Anyone got any advice aside from sending it back to Xiaomi for repair?

I was reflashing my mi6 through the TWRP recovery and the process was stuck at 99%. I waited some amount of time and decided to "reboot" it. So I held down the power button and turned it off. Since then my phone doesn't react on the power button anymore. I have exactly the same symptoms like you described. In my case, it is my fault but I thought it should only update some files in the internal storage, nothing more. I'm puzzled how could it turn into the brick because of that. I expected that at least the screen would turn on.
Also, as far as I can tell, a charged phone can stay in the off state for months. I think you need to find a better way to drain its battery. You may try to connect an external HDD through OTG cable.
So, I was able to unbrick my phone. It was unlocked, so if yours is locked you probably need to disassemble it and put to the EDL mode with help of the tweezers. Try to connect your phone to the Windows PC. Windows 10 detects and installs Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 driver automatically. After that, you need to download MIUI ROM Flashing Tool and a fastboot ROM for Mi6 from here h t t p : / / en.miui.com/a-234.html. Unpack ROM's archive to some directory, open the Flashing tool, click "Browse" button, navigate to that directory, then click "Update" and "Flash" buttons. It helped me.
Thank you very much for the extra information. In the end I decided to send it back to Xiaomi for repair, but I'll keep your tips in mind for next time in case it happens again. Honestly though, this is a pretty huge design flaw if the phone does need to be hard power-cycled every so often due to an OS crash. I've been very underwhelmed with MIUI too, so I may end up just selling the device once I get it back and switching to the most popular Lineage OS phone of the moment.
A riveting update for those on the edge of their seats, turns out this was a fault in the mainboard and they had to replace the part. Wowee, what a plot twist! Phone is back in working order now.

great to hear that you have your phone back, did it really took 1.5 months to get your phone back?
Regrettably so. It was a combination of factors: I live in Australia and bought the phone from a Hong Kong eBay seller (everything takes 3-4 weeks between asia/Australia unless you pay for express shipping), and they had to send it back to Xiaomi's repair centre there, and Xiaomi had it for a week or two, so it all took quite a while to get back. The joys of buying a phone on the grey market. This is the one area that Apple service shines.

Seems my mi6 has the same bug, most likely its gone to mobile heaven now.
Sorry to hear that. I wonder if Xiaomi had some quality control issues?

I think defects are normal with these high tech smartphones. Quality control cant see the small issues that manifest themselves into mobile deaths over time.
You have just found other like minded people with the same problem here.
People without the issue are staying quiet haha.
Companies usually just build in these defects into their projections and swap out the device when needed.
I think most people who have warranty issues with Xioami are the ones like me who buy through third parties.
So you have to return the phone to seller. They then return it to their supplier who then passes it onto Xiaomi for warranty.
That's where the long wait times come from for international owners.
I had more issues with Sony and even with warranty directly with Sony my phone was returned bent from a warranty covered screen replacement.
They fix one problem and create another. At least with Xiaomi I'm seeing people get the phone repaired and that's the problem solved
Did you think about EDL Recovery ?
