So, i bootlooped my device somehow, and now I'm trying to factory reset the damn thing. problem is, I go to the recovery screen, where I can choose safe mode, clear cache, and factory reset. I click factory reset, and the little android alien pops up for 1-2 seconds, and then it goes black and the phone restarts. In other words, its not letting me factory reset for some reason.
Please help asap!!

wtf? I never installed a custom ROM or anything. just a custom boot animation and a build.prop edit, and one of those two things boot looped my rig. when i try to factory reset via the hardware buttons, it restarts after 1 second of trying and goes back into the bootloop. i try ever different setting on the recovery screen, and they all have the same result (either safe mode, or delete cache)
how else can i factory reset so i can get my phone back'??
Hello Guys,
since 2 days my phone stucks in a bootloop. I entered a wifi password, then my phone starts to reboot immediately. the lockscreen appear for just 1 sec and then the phone starts to reboot again. Im Using Android 6.0, unroot, usb debugging disabled, closed bootloader and no custom recovery. I can enter the download mode and the factory reset menu. I can reset my phone, but i dont wanna lose my pictures on the internal storage. Is it possible to save my pictures? Or how can i restore them after a Factory reset?
i also tried to reinstall Android 6.0 with the LG Flash Tool 2014, and did the installation without the factory reset, but it doesnt helped.
i hope someone could help me.
Thanks

A factory reset might fix it. This is why you should have stuff like that backed up.
Sent from my LG-D852 using XDA Labs
Have you fixed it yet ?

I am suffering from the same issue since past 1 month and can't figure out a solution . Itried factory reset and flashing stock firmware. Pls help in any way.
Hi all,
I'm hoping to get some advice/help from all you experts for my HTC One M8.
It's stock, hasn't been changed or modified in anyway. After the battery went flat and it was recharged it came up with "Your phone is encrypted - enter your screen lock password". I used to have a password months ago but took it off. Anyway I put the password in and it comes up with this..."Decryption unsuccessful. The password you entered is correct, but unfortunately your data is corrupt. To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account." At this point I'm swearing as it doesn't look good. I hit the "reset phone" button hoping it will magically work but after a couple of minutes and a sickening red triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, it returns to the "your phone is encyrpted" page.
So here I am, pleading for help as its magically only two months outside of warranty and my carrier doesn't want to know me.
Please help!
Thank you in advance
UPDATE
UPDATE:
I have tried going through the htcdev unlock bootloader in the effort to get TWRP and hopefully some success from there but it doesn't seem to finish the unlock process. I get to the last step where I accept the unlock on the phone and it resets back to the same encyrpted/corrupted screen. Using the power and volume down I can see in the boot menu that it is still ***locked***.
Is there ANY other way to unlock bootloader and install TWRP?
same with me
unable to mount anything, cant flash recovery(it flashes, but nothing changes)
cant format, when phone boots it says that "phone is encrypted bla bla bla, reset device just reboots back to twrp)
cant boot into oem rebootRUU, it just reboots phone=(

If you can get into TWRP, that's a good thing. Go to Wipe section, and tap the button "Format Data". This usually fixes the storage corruption issue.
The OP has a different version of this. He doesn't have custom recovery, and in this condition, I don't think you can flash TWRP, anyway. So unlocking the bootloader is probably not going to help matters. Try to RUU, if your version has one.
Hi all,
I have a stock HTC One X, when the phone updates it knackers android causing all sorts of crashes on boot. Generally I just boot into the bootloader and do a hard reset. This time I go into the bootloader but there is no option to do a factory reset. Any ideas on whats gone wrong or how I might resolve it please?
I recently bought a new device and decided to give my HTC U11 EYES to my sister-in-law. So I did a factory reset through the recovery mode (rather than through the Android settings). Now the phone refuses to proceed through initial setup. I can get to the Welcome screen where I choose the language, then it asks me to connect to a WiFi network (which it does successfully, and I have to do so otherwise the "Next" button is grayed out), then it goes to a screen that says "Checking for updates, this may take a minute or two" and it just sits there forever. It never progresses beyond that. There's no "Skip" option anywhere, there's no EULA to agree to, and the WiFi icon shows all kinds of constant activity. But the setup never progresses beyond that update screen. I tried leaving it on overnight, it's been 10 hours. Still nothing. I tried doing another factory reset, same result.
I've owned two of these devices and never had an issue doing initial setup before, but I've never done a factory reset on either of them before. Normally a factory reset is supposed to SOLVE problems, not cause them. I have no idea what's wrong or how to fix it. I've been unable to find an original RUU that successfully flashes to the device.
try to wipe the cashe
Go again to download mode by pressing power and volume down together, then check for wipe Cashe drive
And you can try again factory rest later after restart
