Can you flash Official OOS 4.0.1 N as OTA (I just flashed OTA official 4.0.1 N, did not install) on Beta 10 4.0 N without wipping system on TWRP or do you need Official TWRP and clean install?

Hello,
I have installed the last 7.1.2 beta + Franco kernel on my phone. And i have received the ota to install the stable version, but it fails because the kernel is not the original one I guest...
I have downloaded the factory image, but I'm not sure if i will lose my data if i install it using flash -all script...
What's the best method to update to the stable version without losing all my data/configuration?
Thanks!

If you rooted, use flashfire.
hi,
i wanted to update my oneplus 3 running rooted oos 4.0.1 and twrp to 7.1.1 . Is there any way to do it without data loss? If not, can you give me a link to an easy tutorial?
Greetings,

Newest TWRP from blu.spark, FULL update ZIP OOS, Magisk v12, blu-spark kernel and you are set. And as always make a BACKUP!
Hey guys,
After the oreo open beta update i had a problem with loudspeaker volume so i reverted to nouget using the official method with the special rollback build..
I flashed the files using stoc recovery
Then upgraded again to oreo to try the face unlock feature
Then i rooted and installed TWRP recovery..
I now want to go back to nouget stable..but cant get ti the stock recovery.. And when in TWRP i dont see the roll back files..
Just download firmware 4.5.1 flash it than flash any nougat rom
I have flashed the MIUI 10 Beta Pie, now I received many OTA updates and I don't know how to flash it via TWRP worrying I would brick my device.
I use the TWRP which has decrypted MIUI 10 PIE.
Also I have Magisk installed. Can someone please tell me how to install OTA updates via TWRP without bricking my device?
Same question, but for sure.. use mi recovery to ota updated, then back to twrp again
you two should install orange recovey, after update OTA, it will back to orange recovery and remove arb in the ROM. Don't worry
I'll try the orange fox twrp. Thank you so much
Hello,
I haven't flashed my phone for about 2 years.
I am running Firehound 8.1.0 64bit with TWRP 3.1.2-0 (I think)
Do I need to flash anything other than the latest TWRP to enable me to flash android 9.0 & 10.0 ROMs? As when I upgraded to 8.0 I seem to remember their being a bit of work involved.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.
All you need is a 64bit unofficial twrp
Format data to remove encryption with twrp & wipe system & cache
As long as your stock base firmware is oero nothing else is required (if you are still on nougat firmware your fingerprint reader will not work unless you flash oero stock firmware or fingerprint fix)
The process is exactly the same for any custom rom

Is there a way to tell whether I am running Nougat or Orio based firmware? The build I am on is from March 2018. I think I remember reading about this back then but I'm unsure as to whether I flashed stock Orio or not.
I will have a look through my ROMs thread to see if stock Orio was a pre requisite.
So if I am on stock Orio, all I should need to do is update TWRP and I'll be good to go?
Edit,
I just looked through the ROM thread and the dev said a camera issue would not be fixed until stock Orio released. I have a new laptop now so looks like ill have to get ADB and fastboot back up and running then fastboot stock Orio before flashing a new ROM.
Thanks for you help
