internal storage and internal shared storage - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

so guys,
it was my first time reformatting the file system, i changed ext4 to f2fs for data partition
before that my pc read my phone as internal storage and now on f2fs it reads my phone as internal shared storage.
also if i use mtp on twrp b4 booting, all that i copy in the internal storage goes into a folder "0"
and not in the root of the internal shared storage which shows up after booting up .
is it fine or did i screw something up ?

Partitions on Internal Storage

Dear ALL,
I have problem in restoring original partitions on my DIAMOND.
I've tried ANDROID (still pretty slow) on EXT2 partiton created on Internal Storage, but i want to restore original partitions.
I thought that there was only 1 FAT32 partition for all the storage so I did that, but when i did so i'm unable to flash ROMS from Internal Storage. It says "No Image File!" and trigers USB flashing.
Could some one please explore your dimond in partitioning tool and paste screenshots with original info (number of partitions, type of partitons, filesystem)?
Thank you
Actually, there is only one partition and it worked just fine for me. I used Minitool Partition Magic Home and it worked just fine.
Just delete the scrambled name partition in there,create a new one with fat32 and full space and name it to whatever you want and wait for it to finish.
After removing the cable, try rebooting the phone and plugging it in with the "Disk drive" option activated. The partition should show up.

Originally there's only one FAT32 partition,but sometimes the phone wouldn't recognize it,that happened to me too,download HP Usb Format Tool (you can google it,you'll find it certainly),Then with it you have to format the internal storage to fat32,it fixed for me

[Q] Shrinking internal storage after deleting files in Mac OS X Lion

Good day,
I'd like to ask if anyone could help with my problem of shrinking internal storage. Basically I've begun noticing that my internal storage never gets higher even though I delete files, and it's been bugging me for the longest time... But recently I've realised that this only happens because I've been using USB mass storage mode in my Mac OS X Lion. When I use File Manager to delete the files within the phone itself, it returns me my internal storage. When I delete files in Mass Storage mode, however, the space seems to be lost forever. Could anyone help with this please? I'm thinking the internal storage has been corrupted somehow... but I've used Disk Utility, chkdsk (in Windows) and fsck to check its integrity and all these tests have shown no errors. Have formatted various parts of the memory (/system, /data, /cache - mostly in reflashing my ROM) but I sense that system memory isn't what's wonky. I just want my full amount of internal storage back.
I'm using CM10 alpha6 on my Galaxy W. Would greatly appreciate any help! Thanks!
Try moving your dalvik-cache to your system partition. This will free up some space in your internal memory.

There are different methods in doing this, First you can use Titanium Backup to move/integrate your system apps' dalvik-cache to your system partition, it will like re-odex back your system. Another is by link2sd, it can move your lib+apps+dalvik-cache to your sd 2nd partition. Another again is by A2SD, it can move and rebuild your dalvik-cache to your system or 2nd sdcard partiton. You will need CWM or Minitool Partition Wizard to partition your sd card. Dalvik-Cache moving is a method for increasing your internal free space, there also are different kinds of methods for increasing your free space. Hope I helped.

Lenovo A820

Hello, I've installed rom from cappa72 and do repartition
Repartition
of internal memory of the Lenovo A820 phone has been solved already.
With this action youd intednal SD card will be disappeared and will be added to the /data partition.
Before you do anything, make a CWM backup, and save all your data from internal SD card!
The easiest way is to use this CWM script, if you want to have the maximum available size (2,7GB) for the /data partition.
You have to install it from CWM recovery.
After the installation you need to do a factory reset.
After the factory reset, you have to disable your internal SD card, with CWM script.
And then, you can reboot your phone to check if yo have got the new size of /data partition:
settings --> storage
"internal data storage; full capacity 2,7GB"
"internal SD card; full capacity <your physical SD card capacity"
If the above data appear, you have successfully repartitioned you phone's internal memory!

Now when I installing some others roms they are not working. Only waking up, screens shows lenovo logo and thats all. Is that because I did repartition? How to repair that?

How to unlock the full internal storage of xperia M

I unlocked the bootloader of xperia M(4gb internal), flashed twrp on it and then a cyanogenmod nightly, but when the device boots up, it only shows 2gbs of memory.
when i open the built i file manager it shows 3 partitions
1st-2gb partition where cyanogen and other apps were installed
2nd-2gb partition shown as encrypted which asks for a password if tried to open and
3rd- my SD card
what i wanted to ask was that-Is it possible for me to use the full 4gb of internal space by somehow removing the encrypted partition
Couldyou make it noob friendly please

No,It's not 4GB means 2G system & data and 2GB for user internal storage that is apps that you install, which reachs up to 1.5GB
The rest you get is 500~800MB free internal
4GB-> System and data (2GB)
-> Internal storage (2GB) ->Users apps & data
If you want space try option"Use sdcard1 as internal" from Settings-> Storage & USB also note max., Limit of ext_sdcard is 32GB which is another damn drawback Xperia M
