He's not on Nougat, I'd figure the CB betas or FreedomOS.
Just update to FreedomOS 2.2 or Experience 3.0
I had the same issues with 400dpi. Just use 440. It worked out for me. If youre on Nougat, just go to Settings>Display>Display Size and change it to your liking.
No, it's just rooted stock os. I just changed the DPI via an app to 400

Try using Le DPI Changer to change your dpi. I'm on 3.2.8 with 380dpi without any issues.

this is not stock os, this is one of the MM open betas, which are not made and meant to change DPI.
If you are indeed on stock OOS, I can confirm using 400 DPI on official 3.2.6, 3.2.7, 3.2.8 and never experienced that issue (or any, for that matter)
If that is the case, revert the change you made via the DPI app and simply add this to your build.prop or edit if the entry already exists:
ro.sf.lcd_density=400

Very Very dangerous....from the android apps that can change screen dpi about 40% of them have caused ALOT of problems.
You must do a full nandroid back up before you change your dpi because they cause bootloops, not booting at all. Soft bricking as-well.
Anyway whats the point in dpi changer

Nah mine work without problem with proper setting, but what I'm affraid is hardware problem like deadpixel.
Well I don't like things appear big in screen so I want to make it smaller.
Never use lcd modder apps, as it will cause bootloop. Use proper apps and it won't bootloop

I run another dpi on my phone but the lock screen widgets get messed up, but even after changing the lock screen apps dpi to 480 the widgets still are messed up.

Just a quick guess, perhaps you need to change the dpi of the widget app(the app that provides the widget)?

I tried altting 480dpi to all apps I could think of that could have something to do with the lockscreen but it just doesn't work, the lockscreen dpi is still 380.

Are you changing the dpi through build.prop?

Maybe not compatible with your ROM? Gravity Box is designed to work with vanilla AOSP ROMs. I know Purity is AOSP-based, but it looks like there are a lot mods included in it. Other than that, I would just say to make sure you are running the latest version of Xposed Framework. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Xposed and Gravity Box.

Easy Fix
You need to install / reboot the xposed framework app for changes to take place.
Good luck.
I enabled softkeys by adding a line to build.prop but when my tab is vertical the softkeys disappear. Is there a way to fix this?

Do I need to modify System.apk? It's weird that TW is not using new lollipop buttons.
