(((((((( Urgent Help Needed ))))))))))))))))) Please !!!!!! - One (M8) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My HTC M8 VZW has some issues ( I am S-off. TWRP and Bootloader unlocked )
1. Modelid - 0P6B10\x000* Formerly 0P6B20000 :crying:
2. RUU giving errors to flash - Modelid error
3. NO signal - No Sim ( Sim not recognized)
4. Fastboot error while flashing radio ( remote not allowed )
if i can be directed to the proper nandroid backup to flash, or radio file I will be very happy for the holiday. Thanks in advance for any help suggested.

First - you're in wrong device section .. this is M8s not regular M8.
1. change back MID to VZW - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
2. RUU won't work and that MID - you need to fix item 1 first
3. What did you do ? Flashed a GSM firmware ? That's may result in permanent radio brick
4. No idea
You can try any custom ROM with VZW support while looking for nandroid and RUU
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one-m8/development

Thanks for your response ckpv5, I appreciate it, been through those posts so many times it aint funny , will look for roms as u suggest :crying::crying::crying:

ckpv5 is it possible you can direct me to the radio.zip to flash for signal on the VZW M8

How to help you when you don't answer my question (item 3) ?
You can find the radio image in firmware.zip that you can find in Verizon thread .. there are 3 or 4 related threads. But whether they will work or not depends on your answer to my question on why the signal is lost.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...-4-17-605-9-stock-resources-firmware-t3196906

I think I flashed a wrong radio when my modelid got messed up, trying to run a ruu of a different variant that matched the messed up modelid ckpv5, but I don't think am getting my max signal capacity, I live in the Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago. Hope the links you sent could help with better radio signal

Thanks again

You should take note that the Verizon variant is fairly unique, and cannot be "converted" to other carrier version. Do not flash another version's RUU, radio, or firmware to the Verizon variant. The radio issue was direct result of flashing another version's radio or firmware. You were lucky that flashing the proper (Verizon) radio fixed the issue. We've seen cases (flashing wrong radio to Verizon M8) where the damage is permanent, and can't be fixed by flashing the proper radio, firmware, etc.
Simply put, the MID and a Verizon variant should not be modified (from the original MID), and you should never try to run another version's radio, firmware, or RUU to a Verizon M8.

HTC One M9
Hello,
I wonder why the HBOOT is now called ABOOT with the One M9.. is it just because it`s new design.. or are there more changes that we should be careful with?
Thanks a lot

I think its mainly like the HBOOT on the M8, maybe only a name change, but i can't say, because i did not diff the files and i'm not really into digging into
bootloader images, i only do the needed edits and then i'm done.
Mismatched MID and CID
Hello. I just got S-off on my HTC one M9 Developer Edition in order to flash this firmware, but found (through getvar all) that my MID and CID are not the same. Why is this, and is there a way to fix it?
MID: OPJA11000
CID: BS_US002

Of course they're not the same it wouldn't be good for your device if they were.
MID: a combination of numbers, letters and/or additional characters that identify your the device (as for example a HTC M9)
CID: a combination of numbers, letters and/or additional characters that identify the country of origin of your device and whether it's branded and sold by a carrier or not.
For example the MID and CID of an european M9 which is unbranded and sold in Germany are 0PJA10000 (that's a zero at the beginning not an O) and HTC__102.
Edit: Both, your MID and your CID, are the correct ones for the developer edition.
Sorry

I didn't mean mismatched as in not the same, I meant as in unable to flash this firmware for that reason (that they do not match any provided MID or CID).

Ok, sorry for missunderstanding your post. Well, the x.xx.401.xx firmware versions are meant to be used on the international version of the M9 which can be identified by the supported MID and CIDs. You could change both IDs using fastboot commands but since the hardware of the U.S. variants is slightly different* I don't think it is a good idea to flash this firmware on your phone. In the worst case you might get a nice new paperweight if your phone is not compatible with that firmware. Besides I don't think it'll take too long until the official 1.40.xxx.xx firmware is going to be distributed via the OTA function of the stock HTC rom.
*Blame the fact that U.S. carriers use the CDMA network standard while most other parts of the world are using GSM.
Isn't it GSM?

Last I checked, only Verizon and Sprint are CDMA. Does Developer Edition include that functionality?

Seems like you're right. As far as I read the developer edition is almost the same as the AT&T version which uses GSM. I thought every U.S. carrier uses CDMA. Nevertheless there must be a difference since your MID differs from the international one. If the hardware were the same there would be no need to use a different MID. Of course you could try installing the 1.40.401.xx firmware using the commands in the hide box but I cannot garantee that it will work or that your phone is still usable afterwards. I would actually suggest you to ask here whether you won't brick your phone by flashing the x.xx.401.xx version.
Code:
fastboot oem writecid <input desired CID without "<" and ">"here>
Code:
fastboot oem writemid <input desired MID without "<" and ">" here>
Edit: Seems like it won't "hurt" your phone to convert it to the international version.
developer editions on GSM
Hi all
i am wondering if the 1.32.617.30 developer firmware and RUU stuff will work on a GSM phone or more to the point a European phone.
The phone in question is mine it is unlocked and s-off and on super sid i just wanna make sure i still get phones call and stuff
any help or advise would be great
thanks guys
Hi thabks..is there any release date for the internatuonal 2.10 ruu??
Hi guys, need help here
I relocked my M9 and make it S-ON. im using firmware 2.7.401.1 I cannot install from any RUU, it seems there is no RUU that match with my firmware. I make mistake should S-ON the device later, but i already did it, so now i cannot use the phone because there is no OS on it.
I try to unlock bootloader, and cannot retrieve the token when using fastboot oem get_identifier_token. I read that since 5.1 you need to turn on unlock option in developer options, but i cannot do that, since the OS is already wiped
Is there any solution for this ?
Thanks.
when will we have the ruu zip 2.10.401.1 so we may be able to apply the SDCARD method to have a full clean stock flash?
I would like to have flashed in this way instead of going all the hard way in flashing ruuzip stock 1.40 and then upgrading by ota´s.
Thanks for all efforts, Nepht Legion.

Hi All,
Apologies if this is the wrong thread to post this in, just wanted to find out if anyone else has tried to manual install an ota on a M9 s-off.
I copy it to my SD and select to install it via stock recovery. It checks the file and starts the update and not once have i spotted an error, but once it is back up and running android, it is still on the old version.
I'm currently trying to go from 2.10.401.1 to 2.10.401.180, and if I go to aboot, it actual says the new version, but the OS version is still the old.
I would seem that the system partition isn't being updated.
Is there something i'm doing wrong? I tried the usual, googling and searching xda, but haven't found a solution yet.
Thanks

First .. we need to know your device current hboot, CID, MID & etc.
Put your device in bootloader mode and connect to PC and open a command prompt from where you have your fastboot/adb files. then run this command in the command prompt
fastboot getvar all
copy the result and post here but delete the IMEI no & Serial no.
If you don't have fastboot/adb installed, read this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790

Hmmm... m8_ul_ca ... means it's not a HKG device and not a EU device
If I'm not wrong m8_ul_ca is either AT&T or Developer Edition device. (m8_ul_ca I believe is a US device)
but previously S-Offed to change the MID to EU and SuperCID.
And that's explain your 4G problem in your country, most probably is the radio band version which I'm not familiar with.
@redpoint73 - can you help on this radio matter as you are more expert on this
You can try either using EU 4.16.401.10 RUU.exe - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56140330&postcount=1
you need to relock bootloader and make backup of your internal storage important data as this will wipe everything
Or you install latest TWRP and restore 4.16.401.10 backup (no need to relock bootloader)
then check whether your 4G is working or not.

Not all Australia device has 0P6B110, Optus is 0P6B650
and mine an Asian one has 0P6B110 too. Eventhough that website say Taiwan has 0P6B150 but that is for m8_ul_tw because the regular Taiwan m8_ul is 0P6B110
So don't worry so much on this what written on the back because it's getting weird for a m8_ul_ca to have 0P6B110 instead of 0P6B120

With your current hboot, you should be able to run any lollipop ROM. You can give that ROM a try .. maybe some configuration in that ROM will help your radio (4G) problem.

Coming from someone of your knowledge, I consider that quite a complement!
Ironically, the radio number is neither for AT&T or Dev Edition. But actually matches what is listed for the Euro RUU you linked:

To the OP, what country are you in?
Who is your carrier, and do you know what LTE bands they use?
You asked about a ROM then you ask me to link a ROM ...
that's something that I cannot do because I don't use any of those custom ROMs as I'm on my own made ROM (including SkyDragon is part of my ROM).
I believe all ROMs are good. You just need to try all of them and see which is best suit you. SkyDragon you have 4G problem.. then try MaximusHD, LeeDroid, Viper, InsertCoin & etc.
Maybe try MaximusHD first as this is close to stock custom ROM so less modding/tweaking for you to handle.
You need to see whether 4G is working on this ROM then later try other ROM too ... that's all

I agree, its really strange the product ID (m8_ul_ca is for AT&T) does not match the MID (0P6B110) on back of the phone.
The phone was also likely s-off previously, as the CID was clearly changed (to SuperCID) and the MID listed in the getvar output is 0P6B100 (also probably changed by the previous owner).

Yeah .. believe that's the case .. and I guess on the back of the phone it is written as M8x as 0P6B110 usually for M8x.
But product ID is m8_ul_ca suggests the back cover is most probably just a replacement cover.

Ah yes, a replacement cover, what makes much more sense now!
So its most likely an AT&T variant, with replacement back cover, that was previously s-off, changed to Euro MID, SuperCID, and Euro firmware flashed (maybe all Euro software before the OP started modding it).
I recommend again that the OP verify that his carrier is using bands that are supported by the Euro version (at least tell us what country, carrier, and what LTE bands that carrier uses, if known). My guess is "no" and in which case, OP will probably need to s-off and flash the proper radio that supports the required LTE bands.

I always wonder if a device was S-Offed with SunShine by the previous owner, then the new owner use SunShine to S-Off again, I think the SunShine apk will run and will not request for payment.
What I know SunShine should work on the same device multiple times provided the motherboard is not changed.
Something for OP to try.

I duno why ypu would relock bootloader but anyways the RUU you are trying to flash is for US devices. Seeing you changed cid to WWE you need the latest x.xx.401.x RUU. it can be found in a zip you can rename the zip to 2PS6IMG.zip and place on external sd card, boot to downlaod mode and follow the prompts. Atm i dont think the latest is available but just flash the newest you can find then take the ota.

The radio is included in RUU. I dont know if your network will be effected or not, you will have to find out yourself. You can flash a different radio if need be.

you can always flash the HTC__060 radio.img after the International RUU (1.xx.401.x) and see if that gives you service.
I know for Verizon, we can flash the US Unlocked RUU (1.xx.617.x) and then the latest Verizon radio.img and it gives working service.
I would:
1) flash latest .401 RUU
2) boot and see if you have service
3) if not boot to download mode and:
fastboot flash radio HTC__060_radio.img

Finally ended up booting into download mode setting cid to BS__001 and set MID 2PS650000 before running US Unlocked/ Developer RUU. I can only get 3.5G (also called as H+ or 4G). But I'm not able to get LTE. I'm from Argentina (South America), and my M9 from T-Mobile works great on LTE. Now on the HTC 10 I'm actually on 1.96.617.20. Any thoughts? As I runned that RUU I would see no reason on flashing Verizon radio, I'm I right? Thanks!

I think you are correct, but I have no idea. I would flash a ROM such as Viper, Leedroid, Ice, etc.. and choose T-Mobile. This will add into the ROM the necessary components to help get you LTE. Right now you are on the RUU Stock US Unlocked 1.96.617.20 ROM, so it isn't going to fully support T-Mobile.
(What is your carrier? Why do you ask about flashing Verizon radio? Only flash Verizon radio if you are on Verizon network)
--It sounds as though you are on T-Mobile network, so first step flash ROM that supports T-Mobile as mentioned above, and if need, we can try flashing the T-Mobile radio.img next.

Hey! My M9 was debranded from T-Mobile to Dev Edition. And still worked like a charm. I'm on Movistar Argentina, LTE bands here are AWS 4 and band 28. Don't see the reason it ain't working to be honest, maybe a config problem? First time I ever buy an European variant.

You may not get those bands because of hardware. I think this has been mentioned before especially with band 28

Verizon HTC one m9 to unlocked version

I have a Verizon HTC One m9, s-off, and locked bootloader. I want to change to international version, and I have SuperCID. I tried to flash RUU_HIMA_UL_N70_SENSE80_ATT_MR_NA_Gen_Unlock_4.14.617.6, and the RUU stop the process in the beginning and returns Error 132: Signature error
Any idea to fix this problem?
Partial solution
Reading different pages i found the solution, I flash this file firmware_4.14.617.6_NoWipe.zip, and flash the firmware but the phone not recognizes the SIM, and the signal is not present, I found that in Settings, About, Software Information, the Baseband version is Unknow, this must be the reason for this error.
In the download mode, the information about the radio is Radio-01.01_U11440971_103.00.61018G_F, any idea about he correct radio that I need.
I have the exact same problem, after converting my Verizon M9 to BSUS01 7.0 . I also lost my baseband and imei .
Did you find the solution ?
Thank you
No, i can´t found the solution, them i returns to stock rom, I flash the correct RUU img from download mode.

can't install updates please help

hello guy's, i'm a real noob with htc or "rooting" etc and i'm facing a problem. I just bought a htc one m9 with android 6. I think its refurbished because it look like new but the left speaker is louder than the right, and are not loud at all. So I thought I would update it for maybe solve the problem, but I have the update notification and when i click on it, it say the sytem is not stock so can't update. The phone isn't root so i don't know why i'm facing this, so after a long research i did many things like try to install RUU..exe or with RUU;zip and no one want to install. At one moment i change the CID and the OTA begin the update by itself (don't show the "not stock system" message anymore" but stop at 25% and reboot. I'm really confused and don't understand anythings, last thing i did is unlock the bootloader but doesn't change anythings. Is it possible to reinstall a pure stock version ? and after update it ? I am not interested by rooting the phone, i just want pure stock version and be able to update the phone, is it possible to get help? Thanks !
What's the current CID of the phone? Which firmware version is currently installed? Which model name is engraved on the backside of the phone? Is the phone S-ON or S-OFF?
Please read the ReadMe thread in the general section if you don't know how to answer any of the questions.

current cid : htc 001 (don't remember what it was before i change it, something like 1111111)
firmware : 3.35.401.12
model : nothing on the backside (just htc) but on download mode i see "product: htc_himauhl"
S-OFF
Ok. The SuperCID (11111111) was the culprit of your initial problem. On older HTC phones it was a way to unlock kind of a region free mode. On the M9 however, that CID prevents official updates from being installed.
Is your current CID really htc 001? Or is it HTC__001? Only the latter one is written in the legit format. The former one won't work.
HTC__001 is one of the CIDs that would match your current SKU (401).
The model name in download mode can be changed via RUUs. As long as no one changed the backplate, only the engraving on the backside of the phone shows the true model name. The engraving is quite small on the downer part of the backplate. Can you please take another look and see if you can find it? The ReadMe contains some commonly asked questions. There should be one that covers the engraving.
We should only proceed with flashing RUUs if we know the model name of your phone. It's not wise to flash GSM RUUs on a CDMA phone or vice versa.

real cid is : HTC__001 (from getvar all)
I search everywhere with camera and there is nothing about the model, the person I bought it from told me it was refurbished, maybe thats a false case ? am I stuck ?
It's up to you to decide whether you want to try flashing the 3.35.401.12 RUU or not. All clues imply that you have a 0PJA10000. However, we don't know for sure.
In case you want to proceed: Check the MD5 sum of the file that you can find in the ReadMe thread. Flash it with the instructions for the SD card method.
Afterwards the phone should be working normally, again. Unless it's not a CDMA variant. In the latter case you would at least get problems with network reception.
Edit with another thougt that comes to my mind: What's the fastboot getvar result for your MID. Since the refurbisher used the SCID they most likely didn't know that the M9 behaves differently than older HTC phones and probably didn't change the original MID.
the getvar mid is : 0PJA10000 but i change it too and don't know the initial.
I will try the process, i don't understand what you mean by "check the MD5"
is this file is good ? : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=23991606952597788
Is it possible to flash it with the pc instead of sd card ? if it's mandatory the sd card I will buy one
Well, if you manually changed the MID, didn't write down the original MID and there's no engraving on the backside of the phone then there's no way to know for sure which variant you own.
C.f. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/MD5
Tl;dr: Check whether the file didn't get broken during download (e.g. due to connectivity issues). The ReadMe thread suggests useful programs for that purpose.
Flashing broken files might lead to unrecoverable bricks; especially on S-OFF phones. "Good" file hosts like AndroidFileHost will always mention the reference MD5 value for their downloads.
The SD card method is the most fail safe method for flashing RUUs on a M9. That's why I recommend to use it, always. You'll want to get a card that has not more than 32 gb due to the needed format. Those cards should cost less than 10 €.
Edit: You can't use the RUU that you linked. Please read the ReadMe thread, thoroughly. That RUU uses a different encryption key. Everything you need can be found in the ReadMe thread. Trying to flash just any random RUU is quite dangerous on a S-OFF device due to the security checks being turned off. You might risk a brick.
