HTC 10 Indian variant RUU issue 2PS620000 - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hey guys! I´ve got my 10 S-off'ed and model changed from HTC__060 (Indian) to HTC_001 (WWE), re-locked bootloader and tried to run RUU but get error 155 (latest RUU http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...17.2.exe?_ga=1.123429256.280992434.1479770968 ).
I'm currently on 1.95.400.3 , I´m trying to run RUU as it's the easiest way to get everything back to stock. MID was and stills being 2PS620000 . Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

btw I assume I won't get any radio issues, am I right?

I duno why ypu would relock bootloader but anyways the RUU you are trying to flash is for US devices. Seeing you changed cid to WWE you need the latest x.xx.401.x RUU. it can be found in a zip you can rename the zip to 2PS6IMG.zip and place on external sd card, boot to downlaod mode and follow the prompts. Atm i dont think the latest is available but just flash the newest you can find then take the ota.

Yeah i'll try that, what about radio? Won't vary or give trouble?

The radio is included in RUU. I dont know if your network will be effected or not, you will have to find out yourself. You can flash a different radio if need be.

you can always flash the HTC__060 radio.img after the International RUU (1.xx.401.x) and see if that gives you service.
I know for Verizon, we can flash the US Unlocked RUU (1.xx.617.x) and then the latest Verizon radio.img and it gives working service.
I would:
1) flash latest .401 RUU
2) boot and see if you have service
3) if not boot to download mode and:
fastboot flash radio HTC__060_radio.img

Finally ended up booting into download mode setting cid to BS__001 and set MID 2PS650000 before running US Unlocked/ Developer RUU. I can only get 3.5G (also called as H+ or 4G). But I'm not able to get LTE. I'm from Argentina (South America), and my M9 from T-Mobile works great on LTE. Now on the HTC 10 I'm actually on 1.96.617.20. Any thoughts? As I runned that RUU I would see no reason on flashing Verizon radio, I'm I right? Thanks!

I think you are correct, but I have no idea. I would flash a ROM such as Viper, Leedroid, Ice, etc.. and choose T-Mobile. This will add into the ROM the necessary components to help get you LTE. Right now you are on the RUU Stock US Unlocked 1.96.617.20 ROM, so it isn't going to fully support T-Mobile.
(What is your carrier? Why do you ask about flashing Verizon radio? Only flash Verizon radio if you are on Verizon network)
--It sounds as though you are on T-Mobile network, so first step flash ROM that supports T-Mobile as mentioned above, and if need, we can try flashing the T-Mobile radio.img next.

Hey! My M9 was debranded from T-Mobile to Dev Edition. And still worked like a charm. I'm on Movistar Argentina, LTE bands here are AWS 4 and band 28. Don't see the reason it ain't working to be honest, maybe a config problem? First time I ever buy an European variant.

You may not get those bands because of hardware. I think this has been mentioned before especially with band 28

[Q] Which RUU to use or radio file

Hello. I have a AT&T branded HTC One M8. No longer with ATT , the device is unlocked and being currently used with T-Mobile. Everything works fine. I went back to KitKat since not a big fan of lollipop since couldn't get battery life to be as excellent as KK. I did the 4.4.4 RUU for ATT and flash CM11 and everything worked perfectly, except signal. The signal drops so much to where in places that I normally had 4G LTE in I would drop to emergency calls only. But only going to kitkat. Whenever I was on Lollipop my signal was perfect, I'd use the latest ATT RUU for M8, then go to somewhere like LeeDroid. So after that rant, Can I use the T-Mobile RUU, or could someone point out a specific radio that I could use with Kitkat on T-Mobile network to where signal ought to work?
I would suggest the T-Mob RUU for best performance on the T-Mob network.
You'll need s-off, and then change to the T-Mob CID and MID to run the T-Mob RUU. Also, no need to relock the bootloader to RUU once you've done s-off.

Do I still need to if I'm Super CID? Also currently on Skydragon, used on of their modified firmware for T-Mobile. Seems to be working good. But still suggest to go ahead with what you stated?

If you are on the Lollipop T-Mob US firmware and Skydragon, you should be good to go. Do you have any signal issues with this setup?
To answer your CID questions (just as FYI, or in case you end up wanting to run T-Mob RUU), SuperCID will satisfy (pass) the CID check. But you still would need to change to the T-Mob MID (model ID). MID is a separate check from CID. You need to pass both to run the RUU.

Alrighty! Thanks for the MID info. My signal seems to be a lot better. I always was on HSPA+ with full bars, now getting around 2-3 bars of LTE. So cant complain about that since I live a little outside of town. Thank you for you assistance!

[Q] Changing from unlocked (617) to international (401) with s-off

Hey guys,
I own an original unlocked M9 (1.32.617.30) and want to convert it to the international model for the quicker updates.
Just got it S-OFF and wanted to make sure I got the rest of the steps right:
1. Change MID to 0PJA10000
2. Change CID to 11111111 (or to HTC__001? which is better?)
3. Run 1.32.401.17 RUU (is it possible to run 1.40.401.8 RUU instead? or do I need to flash a 1.32 base first?)
Cheers! Trying to avoid a bricked phone

Who is your carrier?
You shouldn't need to change your mid. Just change to super cid and you can flash the latest firmware and any custom rom you want.
If you're AT&T, the 401 firmware should work seamlessly, you just probably will not get voLte. If you're tired mobile, 401 firmware should also work, but no Wi-Fi calling (you should confirm this because I'm really not sure). If you're Verizon or Sprint, I have no idea, but I think you're sol and have to wait until they release an update. .
Edit: nevermind about carrier stuff. Didn't see that you have dev edition. 401 firmware should all work.

I'm not in the US, but europe. I've bought the phone through HTC US and that's why i'm on 617.
Regarding the MID, it is only because it is listed as a step here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-one-m9/general/att-developer-edition-ruu-how-to-t3086948
And when you say "flash latest firmware" what do you mean exactly? should I install 1.40 RUU or 1.32.401.17 RUU first? I really want to know Im flashing the right file now that i'm S-OFF.

Gotcha. I didn't understand your desires. I thought you were basically asking how to upgrade your firmware and flash a rom. Probably you should ask in that thread and maybe clsA or someone else in that thread can give you specific advise. I assume you're looking to convert to stock 401/0PJA10000 and receive official otas?
This might help you as well.. its an A,B, C ... guide
http://www.droidviews.com/how-to-restore-htc-one-m9-to-stock/
From what Im aware, I thought Sunshine 3.17 only supports 501... arent we on 502?
Thanks guys I followed the guide from clsA and it worked perfectly. :good:
Yup! If you have a GSM M-9 than it's easy as pie! S-OFF, Super CID, Flash Firmware, Flash Rom! BAM! DONE!

Help needed determining RUU for M8

Hello guys, I need a asap help and will be very thankful for guidance.
I recently bought a used HTC one M8 Gold 32GB, it is in pristine condition, just weeks used, but when I came home and did a reset I realized that it was a rooted phone. But then I discovered that there were some apps like Sprint Worldwide and there were many instances where I found Sprint written, (I have no SIM installed and neither do we have Sprint in our country). So I ended up assuming that it was rooted by the original user solely to unlock the device? I am currently in 4.4.2 and unable to update as it keeps stucking on checking screen. Now I want to revert the device to its original condition and need help doing that. I heard that it can be done by installing RUU so I went to:
htc . com / us / support/rom-downloads
and downloaded: 4.25.651.18 (assuming it is a Sprint)
and then placed it in the sdcard but after HBOOT takes some loading time, it just says invalid image. I have also tried renaming it with no hope.
the bootloader is Locked/ M8_WHL PVT SHIP S-OFF.

First you need to post the results of fastboot getvar all. REMOVE your serial and IMEI numbers from the pasted info before posting. We need to see hopefully the firmware that is currently on the device.
If it is Sprint and you have downloaded the correct RUU file, you do NOT put it on the SD card, you leave it on your Windows PC, attach the device to the PC with USB cable and run the RUU as administrator in Windows. Before that, download HTC Sync Manager and let it install, then delete it. It will leave behind the HTC drivers which you need.

It's definitely Sprint but the firmware is ancient. Run the RUU file and hopefully it will go thru. If not, we'll have to find a way to update your firmware one at a time, but as you are S-OFF it will be easy enough as long as we can find the firmwares.
Sprint RUU can be found Here, this is the latest Lollipop version.
Get your phone into fastboot mode and simply run the RUU .exe file while your phone is plugged into the computer via USB.

Sprint is CDMA. No doubt about it. The CDMA version M8 supports CDMA, GSM and HSPA, but not as many HSPA bands as the "pure" GSM M8 (basically any version except Sprint and Verizon).
What bands does your carrier use for 3G (HSPA)? I'm guessing that your carrier uses bands not supported by the Sprint version. In which case, you are out of luck. The Sprint (or Verizon) version is not recommended for anyone outside the US, and not on the specific (Sprint or Verizon) carrier.
You can't flash RUU, radio, or firmware from other versions to Sprint (even with s-off). As mentioned, the flash will either fail or brick the phone.

I have changed my CID and MID. And btw can any one of you tell why the International version + Developer/Unlocked are still on 5.0.1 unlike the (my) Sprint version's 5.0.2 ...? Due to this issue, currently I am unable to flash any other lower (but international for 3G support) version of RUU exe regardless of me being on compatible CID/MID.

Never ever install an intl version/dev edition to your sprint device. It may brick it.
Where is your region currently ? Which country ?
Maybe change of these helps :

God almighty man, READ WHAT HE SAYS. You cannot and should not flash WWE anything on a Sprint device. What part of that do you NOT UNDERSTAND?

Installed CM13 himaul to Asian One M9W (HTCCN_701), couldn't find suitable RUU

Hello guys, I flashed CM13 (himaul GSM) to Chinese M9W (this is my first htc phone), and i thought it will work welll, but it didn't go well than i except. Now It doesn't recognize SIM card, IMEI number anymore. After that I realized I deleted 2 days ago TWRP backups of my M9W.
It's board number is himauhl. Same version as European M9. But with different CID, HTCCN_701.
I can't found suitable RUU to my HTC M9W with HTCCN_701 CID. I found but it was in Chinese, I couldn't understand anything so I am not sure it's cid suitable to mine. Link: http://htcui.com/8812.html
If you guys know how to find suitable rom (RUU) to this CID, I will appreciate to you guys. Thanks for reading.
I think you must wait for the ruu for your device and region.

I did a lot of research, and I learned all phones shipped with hima_uhl has got same motherboard (doesn't matter the region), including same Modem in SoC. So, I did S-OFF on USB with a guy who has special toolkit (he doesn't let me the see toolkit), It costs something like 10 Euro. I changed CID to HTC_M27 (Turkish CID), Installed European lollipop RUU and flashed International (hima_uhl) Modem via TWRP. Now it Works like a charm.
I hope this tutorial helps other people who have M9W and cannot able to find solution, BTW thanks for your answer

After you installed latest European RUU available with compatible CID, you need to mount all partitions and flash this file to get RIL functions working. Also after doing this you can also install European device compatible AOSP Roms.

In my opinion set CID to 11111111 to bypass any soft bricks. I flashed with Turkish CID because my friend wanted to. I prefer using 11111111.

After you installed latest European RUU available with compatible CID, you need to mount all partitions and flash this file to get RIL functions working. Also after doing this you can also install European device compatible AOSP Roms.

I now got 1111111.
Next step is flashing the european ruu? Can you give me a link for it?
By the way my phone don't recognize sim card because its locked to sprint, this will override my problem? And the phone will no brick?

De-brand Vodafone AU

As the title says has anyone with Vodafone Au De-Branded with WWE? I just want to see if the reception changed at all or did you need to flash the Vodafone radio after? I'm sick of waiting for them to push the 1.80 update. I would like to be updated so i can flash the latest ROMS on updated firmwares.

Don't know if it helps, but I'm on Telstra and have gone to WWE and US international firmwares. US got me same reception, WWE was slightly lower than Telstra. There is a wiki you can google which lists what frequency different models/regions use. Just get something with a match to Vodaphone and signal should stay the same.
Here's the wiki. Https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks
Did you ever try flash the telstra radio while on WWE? If i lost reception while on WWE i was thinking i could just flash the Vodafone radio which i have from the ota file. Just want to confirm before doing so.

No I didn't, have done that on my m8. Not on the 10. Can't see why it would not work. You could always flash different firmware if no signal.
I just checked and vodafone uses band 3 and 5. Which is 1800mhz and 850mhz. You wouldnt happen to know which bands WWE uses?

I don't know. From what I can see 1800 will be fine. Not 100% sure about 850. You will definitely have signal, just may not use 850. If you have voda original fw, it can't hurt to try anyway. Or wait, someone will have answer sooner or later. Good luck.
Thanks for your help mate. One more question for ya. I read through the debrand thread and it says to use the RUU. Do i have to or can i just super cid and flash the 1.80 firmware manually then flash twrp then custom ROM?

I did super cid, then used sneakyghost thread to flash firmware. Used nowipe fw. Either way will work.
If i wanted to go back to my Vodafone firmware after i de brand can i just flash the firmware.zip from the 1.53 ota? I have been reading up and the firmware.zips only have updated paritions so i might not get the full firmware back to Vodafone.
Doesnt seem like too many Aussies on this forum.

The ota will take you back to Vodafone fw. Just no Rom installed. I used the Telstra one on sneakyghost thread to go back.
Just an update, tonight I soff the phone changed cid to htc__001 and flashed the 1.80 RUU. Everything went absolutely fine. I have the same reception and LTE is working on both bands that Vodafone uses.
